Guest Reviews
- Andras (9/5): -
- jean-daniel (10/5): Bel appartement confortable et très bien situé. - Bel appartement spacieux et très bien placé.
- Julie (10/5): Elegant and Spacious apartment - Very spacious apartment with lots of nice amenities close to lots of sites and the metro. We stayed here with two kids 8 and 11 and did not feel crowded. The rooms were clean and well appointed and quiet for Rome. There was a washing machine and full kitchen which was nice. Giusi was very friendly and helped organize an airport transfer and she turned on the radiators for us (even though the weather was overall warm) after we got caught in a thunderstorm. I would stay here again! No complaints
- Paula (9/5): Had a great time in Rome, never met the host but all in all a wonderful experience - Great location There is a step up in one of the bathrooms not marked and on the first night I took a horrific fall, so grateful I only ended up with bruises, nothing broken. Beds were uncomfortable.
- Wahid (8/5): Great stay and well maintained property. - Perfect location with all walkable tourist attractions. Property and facilities were exactly as mentioned. Host was available all the times.
- Amy (10/5): Excellent - The apartment was absolutely perfect. The rooms were very large and at opposite ends of the apartment, so you had your own privacy, which was an extra bonus.
It was a brilliant apartment and I couldn’t recommend it enough, and the host was extremely helpful.
Amazing location also.
- Coccia Kovach (10/5): - We say that as it ends Claudio in October 2025. Giusi the owner was absolutely fantastic. The property was lovely very clean and accessible to everywhere. We enjoyed our stay very much and we hope to stay there again in the future.
- Michelle Katusin (10/5): Very good - Conveniently located
- Suzanne (9/5): - The host was very helpful and met us at the property to hand over the keys and give us access to the appartment. Guisi was very warm and welcoming. She had cold water in the fridge for us and a few snacks for us for breakfast the next day. The appartement is a good size, we were 4 and very comfortable. The rooms are cozy and nice size. The appartment is very well equipped and appointed and also very, very clean. Very convenient location, easy to walk to everything. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend. Only downside is the garbage disposal on the last which very far from the appartment, was not prepared for the distance carrying my garbage bag.
- Anders (10/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): Very spacious with a very accommodating host. - Great walkable location, very comfortable apartment.
- Stephen (10/5): Giusi and Residenzia Clodio went above and beyond our expectations for seasoned travelers to Rome. - Our stay at Residenza Clodio Spanish Steps was the perfect start to a Roman holiday. First of all the Owner Giusi helped us arrange extremely cost effective airport transfers, much better than we could get from our Corporate travel agency. She was there to meet us and also provided details of local restaurants and activities that we re not tourist traps. She had decorated the property wonderfully, with all the necessary items a family of 5 needed for a weeks long stay. Well equiped kitchen, utensils, washing needs and the little touches of vanity packs in bathrooms, Italian oil olive for cooking and first morning breakfast snacks - well done.
The property has a small life that was invaluable for our disabled mum with good sized bathrooms given Roman standards.
The location is of course a plus, in close proximity to the Spanish steps and shopping streets. Local markets for supplies are just around the corner along with Fab local restaurants where the locals eat. Would we stay again - absolutely. I guess for those looking for a view, the property is located on a back steer with internal courtyard - not an issue for us but some may want another vista. Feedback from other reviewers mentioned hard beds but they must have softened for our likening. 2 flights of stairs after 12 hour Roman walking day can be an issue for some but there is the small lift so you can skip the stairs - we didn’t. Overall no big issues at all.
- Michael (10/5): Owner is great to work with, highly recommend this property! - Great location!
- Joseph (9/5): Great place to enjoy what the city has yo offer! - Location was perfect WiFi needs attention
- Stephen (10/5): Just the right base for my son and I to visit Rome for the first time - and encourage a return. - A warm welcome from Guisi began an excellent stay. Great location to walk to main sites or get the hop on-off buses. Plenty of eateries nearby. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, big airy rooms, and big comfortable beds with high quality linens. Two bedrooms for my son and I but spacious enough for 2 couples. Quiet back street location. Lift if needed. Can’t fault it. Really all-round appreciated this high standard apartment.
- Anthea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adriano (10/5): “Dolce vita” in Rome, between “La Rinascente” and the Spanish Step” - Wonderful property in an excellent position, adjacent to Piazza Barberini, few minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain ⛲️, totally renovated, situated in a palace of 1600…
- Predrag (10/5): Great location, spacious apartment, kind host. - Location is great, host is kind and forthcoming, apartment is spacious.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Beautiful with lots of restaurants near by. Spanish steps about 10 mins walk with all other attractions about 25 mins wa - Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.
All very clean and the host extremely friendly and helpful. The entrance area needs attention to make it more welcoming.
- Jenny (5/5): Pleasant but.... - Location, 2 beds, 2 baths. Entry system reliant on property WiFi, which if it went down, you could not enter the property as we experienced for 30 mins!
Beds extremely firm, if you have aching joints very uncomfortable.
- Ellen (10/5): If you can book this place - do it - you won't be sorry - What a fabulous place. This location was excellent; we could walk almost anywhere. The pictures didn't do it justice. The place was roomy, exceptionally clean, comfortable, easy to access with both the key and the door code. There was coffee for the mornings and breakfast for the first day. Everything was in working order including the A/C which worked fine when needed. And the host was readily available to answer any questions or to help with anything. Giusi left recommendations on restaurants and other places were very helpful (and very tasty). I would definitely book this place again. Thank you Giusi! nothing
- Noni (8/5): Very good - Well located
- Elizabeth (9/5): superb location in Rome, beautiful apartment - excellent location esp for first time visiting Rome. Incredibly easy to get to via metro from Train station (or airport via Termini), and easy to walk into the historic centre. Spacious, comfortable and excellent facilities. n/a
- Donna (10/5): Would definitely recommend. Even better in person than the pictures. Quiet street but close to everything. - Very responsive to any question, great location, beautiful space, great shower Nothing
- Dorothy (10/5): Excellent apartment, perfectly located - Perfect location/ well appointed, Host Giusi was there for us answering all queries and helping make our stay perfect there was nothing we needed the apartment didn’t have. Nothing
- Angelica (10/5): We loved our stay! - A perfect location. Steps away from multiple restaurants, mini mart, pharmacy and the taxi stand.
Bonus was the hop on hop off bus is located next to the taxi stand as well.
Host arranged a driver to take us to the airport. The beds are a bit on the hard side.
- Dhafer (8/5): Very cool - The owner communicate In the city center
- Anne (9/5): The apartment is beautiful and centrally located. We had a wonderful stay. - The host was very helpful and responsive. They allowed us to check in early and arranged a car for us to get to the airport.
- Maria (10/5): Staying here is a treat! - You cannot beat the location! Steps from so many major attractions in my opinion, the best part of Rome. The apartment is extremely tasteful and well appointed. Very comfortable stay with everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen, steamer for your clothes and excellent recommendations from the host of where to find. I will absolutely return when in Rome. All of the photos in the listing are absolutely accurate and the host was wonderful! There are approximately 6-8 steps to climb with your suitcases before reaching the elevator but very manageable.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (9/5): A wonderful, comfortable place to relax after our busy days of site seeing. - Beautiful, spacious, clean and quiet. Our host Giusi was so helpful and welcoming, and all of her restaurant recommendations were wonderful. She came to replace a broken corkscrew very promptly. Work being done in the stairwell was dirty and noisy, but obviously only temporary.
- Kyle (9/5): It was delightful - a very comfortable apartment. The hostess was extremely helpful and kind. - The location was excellent. The showers were awesome. The hostess was extremely responsive and helpful with getting cabs, etc. It was difficult to get large suit cases up the stairs to the elevator. It was difficult to use the keys to open both the outer door and the inside door.
- Kim (8/5): Perfect for us with family. - The host was lovely & available.
Location was fantastic.
Spacious apartment Tiny coffee cups, no other choices.
Slight constant sewage smell in one of the bathrooms, 1 fragile chair (could break at anytime so we did not use) and a semi-broken (hinge loose) toilet seat.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The apartment was incredible: spacious, beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. Once I learned how to use the digital key system to enter, access was really easy. The location was great, about an 8 minute walk from a subway station (which is sometimes hard to find in Rome) and centrally located. The area itself is tourist heavy and you might need to search a bit for affordable places to eat or places that aren't completely full at all times, but the neighborhood is still fun and extremely close to most of the major tourist attractions and cultural sites.
- Michele (10/5): It was a wonderful stay in a great location. We will be back. - The location was great and the host was accommodating. I appreciated her waiting late to let us in and show us around. The apartment is neat, clean and well appointed. The garbage and recycle bin is a bit far away so I would recommend anyone staying to allow a little extra time to take it out on the last day. No other concerns.
- Julia (9/5): Fabulous apartment in central Rome - Lovely host, who made herself available for any queries. The property is in a brilliant location, 5 minutes from the Spanish Steps and easily walkable to the Colosseum. Clean and comfortable, just what we needed!
- Udayan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordanov (9/5): Very responsive host- he was constantly in touch and helped us every step of the way. - Location was great with two bedrooms and a great living area Slight noise from the passing metro trains but nothing to be concerned about
- Lazar (9/5): Superb - Nice, clean, spacious. You have to take out your trash. Not nice for this kind of money:
- Nathan (10/5): Awesome apartment at an amazing location. - Absolutely great location, very prestative host (handing me the keys way before the check-in standard time), amazing and stylish apartment, good space, good beds, individual bathrooms, nice and decorated living room, television with netflix, some consumables in the kitchen. I strongly recommend this lovely place if travelling with friends/family.
- Tom (10/5): Luxurious apartment in a quiet neighbourhood. - We used Vikey, a sort of digital key to access the apartment during our stay. Upon arrival we were met by the host. The host was very forthcoming and helpful. The flat was just perfect and very quiet. The beds were comfortable. All the rooms were very clean. The location of th flat is also perfect (close to be Trevi fountain and the Villa Borghese.
- Someone (10/5): Great location, wonderful apartment, lovely host. Will come again. - Great location, wonderful apartment, lovely host.
Underground parking nearby.
Thank you Giusi :)
- Mary (10/5): Wonderful visit to an amazing city. - Beautiful well appointed apartment in a good position. Very quiet location.
Guisi was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing.
- Donald (8/5): Very good -
- Tami (10/5): Giusi is a wonderful host! We will definitely rent from her again when we return. - The apartment was wonderful! Highly recommend! Giusi is very responsive and an absolute pleasure to rent from. The apartment is spotless and very comfortable for our family of 5. The photos look exactly like the apartment. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Christina (10/5): Great Stay! - Beautiful apartment in great location. Extremely clean and well equipped. You will not be disappointed. Nothing
- Ellen (9/5): Would return - Beautifully appointed, well equipped, comfortable and convenient. Nothing
- Bethany (10/5): Beautiful apartment convenient to local attractions - Beautiful apartment conveniently located within walking distance of many attractions in Rome. It’s on a quiet street in a secure building. A very comfortable place to stay, highly recommend! N/A
- John (6/5): Pleasant - The location was good, as we were able to easily get to most sites either on foot or using the metro at the bottom of the street. Our experience at Residenza Clodio left my entire family of 5, completely unsatisfied. The apartment has the makings of a nice vacation rental, but has many necessary steps to take until it gets there.
The apartment is four flights up from street level (on the second floor), and was offered as having an elevator. When we arrived, it was early afternoon, and the temperature was over 32 degrees Celsius (over 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Upon checking in with Giusi, it became apparent that the elevator was not working. Instead of Giusi offering to have it looked at, she simply shrugged her shoulders when she saw it wasn't working, and picked up one of our children's bags to carry up the steps. She never asked about the elevator, or offered to get it fixed, throughout our entire 5 night's stay.
When we entered the apartment it was extremely hot. Although Giusi was given an estimate of when she could expect our family, she never considered cooling down the apartment prior to our arrival. She had all the windows closed, and air conditioning off when we walked in. When we asked about the air conditioning, she rudley shoved the remote control into our hand, without a word. The air conditioning did work once we turned it on, but the treatment we received when we asked about it, was completely uncalled for.
Also during check in, when we asked Giusi for extra towels, she became agitated, and started stomping around the apartment showing us that there were towels in the bathrooms. The question was not if there were towels. The question was if we could have a few extra towels given that the number of towels were counted out only exactly for the 5 of us. Not a towel more. Possibly Giusi intends for her guests to wash their own towels throughout their stay in her apartment? Definitely unexpected and unwelcomed treatment.
- Vijayshree (10/5): Wonderful stay in a most ancient and beautiful city ! - Very clean comfortable and great location on heart of town!
- Hueien (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great near Spanish steps, well equipment kitchen, and new shower panel system. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Love the facility and location. Very clean and host was very accommodating. Wish the apartment had an iron for guest's use.
- Gina (10/5): Our stay in this apartment was comfortable and convenient and would definitely stay again. - We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. We received a very warm welcome from our host when we arrived in Rome. The apartment was extremely clean and included all the comforts of home. The location was perfect! The internal lift was also a bonus and it made it easier to transfer baggage, groceries and shopping to second floor. Only a few minutes walk to main attractions, metro and taxis. Would highly recommend this apartment. No complaints at all.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (10/5): This property was excellent - amazing location and the host could not have been more helpful - The location was great so close to Spanish Steps and shopping areas. The host was extremely helpful and the property was so clean and comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Rome as so central. Would definitely return to this property if visiting Rome again.
- Jelica (10/5): Wonderful apartment, center location and a great hostess! - The owner of the place, beautiful Giusi, welcomed us and showed us the apartment. The apartment was great and very clean and the location is really great, right in the center of Rome! In our case, being in the center of Rome meant that we went everywhere on foot and we walked 10km+ per day, enjoying every second of being in Rome! We had a problem with the toilet in one of the bathrooms not always flushing, but Giusi came and saw what was going on and organized a plumber to come. I am sure that by now, that issue is no longer the case. Remember, plumbing problems occur no matter where one is.
- Anonymous (10/5): Perfect appartment near to many attractions in Rome - The apartment has great location. House is very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Two bedrooms with isolated bathrooms are perfectly suitable for two couples. Nothing to mention.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was large, very cozy and close to Trevi and the Spanish steps. The bedding & pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed the terrace for morning coffee, afternoon wine and an evening dinner and card game. Nothing to complain about.
- Haddadi (8/5): In general, I recommend this place. - The place was nice, spacious and clean. In the kitchen you find enough stuff for cooking. A microwave would be appreciated though.
Very good location. Close to many famous places. You can reach many of them by walking. we were five, two couples and one single. I think it is the perfect number for this place.
The owner is always very fast to reply messages. She left us some welcome cakes, coffee, tea, oil and salt which was super nice. For everyone, there was some small pockets with soap, nail files, towel disposable slippers; very nice.
Enough towels for everyone. To be honest I should mention a couple of things that was a bit annoying.
First, before coming the owner asked ID card of all the guests (filling a form in Vikey, never heard before). To me it is understandable but seems like trust issues. It was a bit of work for me to ask all the other guests to send their ID. At least should be told in the add.
Also, the heating of this place has a schedule which is not in the addvertisement. Seems like only the owner can control the temperature with her phone. When we were at Rome it was really cold at nights and I asked her to turn on the radiator (that were turned off in the time they were supposed to be turned on). She turned them on immediately but for me it was a bit annoying. Honestly, to me wasn’t really nice that the guests are not trusted to have the control of the radiators.
