It was a refreshing family getaway, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive, and the food quality was excellent. The friendly and loving dogs added to the charm, making the surroundings feel even more vibrant and wholesome. A memorable retreat for sure🌸 Nothing in particular
- Poonam (10/5): Serene stay amidst mountains! - I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning stargazing wooden cottage, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the cottage offers breathtaking panoramic views that are perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature.
The cottage itself is thoughtfully designed, combining rustic charm with modern amenities. It has huge trees and beautiful vines inside. The outdoor seating area was perfect for sipping morning/evening coffee while soaking in the views.
The highlight of my stay was, of course, the stargazing experience. The clear skies and lack of light pollution made for a perfect setting to admire stars. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, this cottage is a hidden gem.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and ensured every detail was perfect.
- Talukdar (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, beautiful and picturesque stay, courteous and humble host and dedicated staff. During our road trip to Himachal, we booked Himalayan Cedar Nest for 3 night stay with our sons (9 year old fur baby it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips of our life. The drive to the cottage is an off road experience with pine trees and apple orchards being your constant companion during the mountain ride. The cottage is located at the top of the mountain. Parking is provided and a 5 mins trek (staff accompanies you and helps with luggage) lands you at this beautiful, rustic and cozy cottage. We stayed at their tree-cum-glass house and it was the most magical and exceptional experience. The sunrise and sunsets here are mesmerising! A hot cup of tea/coffee coupled with the cozy bedding and interior further elevates the experience. Our sons thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Food is great too - do try the lip-smacking chicken curry. Now that we are back home, we are already planning our second visit. 🙂 NA

- Sharma (10/5): Unforgettable experience in a Secluded place. - I recently had the pleasure of staying in a beautiful cottage in Himachal Pradesh, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The cottage itself was cozy, well-maintained, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The view from the cottage was breathtaking, with stunning mountain scenery and a peaceful, serene atmosphere that was perfect for unwinding.
The food was another highlight – delicious, fresh, and authentic. Every meal felt like a treat, and you could tell a lot of care went into the preparation. It was wonderful to have such great food in such a remote and beautiful location.
The location of the cottage was perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Surrounded by nature, it was secluded yet safe, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of Himachal. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing food and a perfect location. Can’t wait to visit again!
- Ankur (10/5): Himalayan cedar nest - This is seriously an amazing place. If you wish to spend your time up close to nature in a quiet place then this is for you. Located just in the middle of Great Himalayan National park, with very clean cottages, we have loved everything here. The owner Satish Bhai and caretaker Gopal Bhai are amazing hosts.
We had a bonfire and the star gazed at night, discovered a different sky full of stars, one can also see the milky way late at night. Highly recommended for stay, the last two things you should not miss are the meadow and the Rishi Pundrik Lake trek. A 10 out of 10.
- Atul (10/5): We visited with children and we all enjoyed the experience of staying at the Himalayan Cedar Nest - The location of this place is good as well as challenging. While it is located at a height that gives you an excellent view and calm, the roads leading to this place are in bad shape...it is about 8 km (half hour) uphill from Sainj Valley. However, once you reach, the location is excellent and calm and peaceful. The food served here is freshly prepared and it tastes very good. Mr. Gopal can cook a few Indian dishes very well and we enjoyed his cooking. The property has three units and each unit has a ground floor room (with a bathroom and balcony) and an attic upstairs with just a bed in the attic. It is just about enough for 4 people on a short stay; very comfortable and cozy. The host and owner Mr. Satish is a friendly and simple person. He advised us on nearby places to visit such as hikes, waterfalls, lakes etc. The artificial grass carpet inside the house can be replaced with a rug or a regular carpet.
- Sandhya (10/5): Amazing location, beautiful and picturesque pet-friendly stay, courteous host and dedicated staff. - The hospitality and humbleness of the host and staff. The tree-cum-glass house and views were absolutely stunning. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cabin in the woods over looking mountains, fresh food, kind staff, gorgeous location
- M (9/5): Amazing experience @ Himalayan Cader Nest - My experience was just amazing. The location is peaceful and beautiful. My family enjoyed the time.
Offbeat location, away from shor sharaba.
Tree house experience was a life time experience.
Views were breath taking.
I strongly suggest visiting the Himalayan Cader Nest and Stargazing tree house for an amazing experience.
Quality food, mutton was delicious.
Sanju and Fateh both are amazing guys and very respectful.
Deori village is one of most beautiful village in Sainj Valley. This mountain itself have a lot of places to go.
If you love moderate trekking then you must go.
Beginners can also trek easily.
My 6 years old daughter have done it.
This location is Value for money. You can easily spen 3 to 4 days here.
Thanks to Satish for being such a wonderful host. I will revisit whenever I get the chance.
- Vineesh (8/5): Very good -
- Chirag (10/5): A great place to stay in the Sainj valley with a beautiful view, hosts, food and network for WFH - Location, food, hospitality
- Augustin (10/5): First and foremost, the service is top notch. I don’t think anything can beat their service. The kindest and sweetest pe - The property is perfectly nestled in the mountains, surrounded by greenery.
- Sanjay (9/5): Superb - The Room was clean and spacious.
The staff was very prompt.
- Maryanne (10/5): Exceptional - Nestled in between the forests and the mountains of Deohari is the breathtaking property of the Himalayan Cedar Nest. We were greeted by the always-smiling Fateh Singh, who was the host, the cook and the guide rolled into one kind human for the duration of our stay. The cottage was clean and cosy, the food was delicious (Fateh's cooking is out of this world) and the scenery around is gorgeous. Would definitely visit again.
- Abhishek (10/5): Serene cabin stay in the middle of woods with great food - Absolutely loved our stay at Cedar Nest. The food, service and hospitality here is top notch. Sharma ji and the staff is super helpful and guided us at every step for the Pundir Rishi Lake hike and for reaching the property. The cabins are beautiful and the we really enjoyed the cosy attic setup and view. Google maps does not show the last 2 km stretch properly, but the owner is very prompt in guiding. Highly recommended Nothing
- Sergejus (5/5): Passable - Fantastic mountains, fresh air, surroundings, food was realy good. Manegement was poor. Was asked to pay advanced payment after the booking, but even payment information was correct the payment did not reach the receipient. Was cold in the room in March +4 at night. Heating costed extra money, we were asked to pay extra for heating at check out time and the toll was 20% of total amount for the stay. The heater was mobile heating stove with naked wires at it ends which were put into an electicity socket. Same with water heater. Occasional power cuts accompained all the time. Wi Fi was organized not at first atempt of inquire. Wi Fi from 18 p.m. was bearly alive all those days of staying.
- Aleczinder (10/5): Staying at Himalayan Cedar Nest was not only comfortable and cozy but also embraced by serene views. - The caretaker was prompt and took care of f&b even when requested at odd hours. The Google Maps directions didn't show the new road to the property, calling the host helped as he directed me to the Parking close to the property.
- Ojha (10/5): Exceptional - Mesmerizing view, cozy cottages, peaceful location and warm welcoming hosts
- Rohit (10/5): Exceptional Experience. - The chalet and the view is exceptional. The deodar jungle is the highlight here. Ideal for those who always aspire to spend few days in woods. Food is really delicious and the cook is amazing. Untouched place away from the chaos of the world. I guess the water heater is bit slow but it’s not at all a mood killer since the water is already very cold due to low temperature.
- Sarthak (10/5): It was a memorable stay as the staff were so friendly. Our supoer host Satish bhaiji is amazing personality he was avail - The property is well maintained and had every facility available within the cottages
- Garima (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts are very friendly
Location was perfect
- Mohit (10/5): A blissful kiss - The location was absolutely perfect. Secluded, detached from the crowd and at the cradle of nature. The host and caretaker was very friendly and made our stay very pleasant. Definitely THE place to unwind and recharge oneself by the mother nature. Nothing at all.
- Singh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amol (10/5): All together I would like to say don’t visit here just for 1 day or night, it’s a place where you can stay atleast 1 wee - Everything is great, food was really awesome I literally didn’t got that type of taste in my traveling experience the best part is that he (cook) didn’t sleep and served hot meal at 1 AM. Good space, fantastic view, too much silence to feel nature within yourself. The only thing that I didn’t like at this property that I and our group liked the place so much that we decided to extend our trip and stay 1 more day but they didn’t allowed me as they already confirmed other bookings ☹️. But I am still missing the silence and feel of Nature and will visit soon again.
- Gargiy (10/5): Fantastic - All the meals were delicious. The caretaker Fateh Singh was very cooperative and took care of all the things. Nothing to dislike
