Guest Reviews
- Magito (10/5): Munduk is always my favourite place in Bali with clean cool air and rare ocean sunset view. - Breakfast is very delicious, and very affordable too. Aside from amazing view and wonderful trekking adventure, breakfast is my favourite thing about this hotel. It would be better if they provide espresso machine in room.
- I Made (10/5): - Green area and fresh air
- Rechel (9/5): Although its night but the experience makes me want to come back. Kodus to the staffs! - Staffs are very accommodating, friendly and hospitable. You will not feel any hesitant in approaching them.
The property is cozy, the view is relaxing, breathtaking and feels home. will recommend. Nothing
- Magito (10/5): Great place, amazing view, great value, friendly service. It's a hidden gem! - The location and view is absolutely asthonishing. I was 900 meters above the sea, but I can clearly watch sunset on Bali northern shore lines. There is no cafe in vicinity, it would be great to have a brew of black kintamani while watching amazing views
- I Made (10/5): - The view especially during sunset
- Darmay (10/5): - Suka banget tempatnya, selalu balik kesini .. staf ramah , view bagus , kebersihan oke … selalu balik nginep di puri sunset
- Darmay (10/5): - The view is AMAZING, the room is clean & smell good, the staff is so helpful . Thankyou so much
- Vilmantas (4/5): -
Donc 2 fois. Je vais tenter une discussion, a suivre....
- Marzena (1/5): I do not recommend - nothing standard, smell, general energy, no contact with owners, I asked forba shampoo and didnt receive it, they didnt want to give me money back even for one night (I booked 2nights, came there, didnt like it and changed to other place, loosing my money)
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Loretta (7/5): great viewing place - the view was fantastic , meals were good
good location for walks to many of the waterfalls,
quiet and cool at night bit far to walk to coffee shops,
afternoon traffic was quite noisy- probably would not be an issue if you are out walking during the day
- Chloe (7/5): Good -
- Linda (2/5): Do not come here! Trust the reviews, choose another location - The view of was really nice and the lunch and dinner were okay. The rooms were very dirty, we found dead insects on the floor when we first entered the room and it seemed like the rooms have not been cleaned before our arrival.
It’s comprehensible that there are insects since Munduk is surrounded by the jungle and it is a mountain village, but still too many insects were present in the room and we found also some holes on the walls and ceiling that allowed insects to get into the room.
Moreover, the bedsheets were very dirty with many stains.
In one of the two rooms we booked there was no hot water. In the bathrooms we found mold that made us difficult to breathe during the night. The rooms due to the presence of the mold were very smelly and stuffy.
We had breakfast in the morning and the pancakes we ordered were completely raw and the toasts we had were hard and cold.
We had dinner and lunch in the property and when we asked for the bill we realized the they charged us for 2 extra bottles of water and they didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience.
Due to all these negative aspects we decided to spend just one night in the property and not two as we originally planned.
We booked this property knowing it was a cheap option, but we just expected a clean and comfortable accommodation.
- Nikolovski (8/5): Charming stay in a lovely location with a great view and great hospitality - View and hospitality Bathroom has a funny smell. As long as I kept the door closed was not an issue.
- Yening (9/5): Superb - The Breakfast was nice and the location was easy to find The parking lot are not at the front of the property but across the property
- Adam (6/5): Decent accommodation, but be prepared for the long walk into town and the lack of affordable taxis - The accommodation was acceptable and decent value for money. Breakfast was fine. Great access to the impressive waterfalls in Munduk. The main issue was the location, quite a distance from the main part of town where you will inevitably want to be for restaurant or shops or even at the end of your waterfalls walk. In most place in Indonesia this would not be a problem because you could just get a Grab taxi. However in Munduk these are not available and the couple of times we got restaurants to arrange us taxis they were ridiculously over-priced. So we had to walk in the end which was quite unpleasant late at night.
- Owen (10/5): I am very satisfied with this homestay! - The view and location next within hiking distance of many amazing waterfalls is great. It was clean and food was yummy. Thank you! No AC so it was a bit humid
- Axel (9/5): Superb -
- T.j.a. (1/5): Bad - The roof was leaking, the bed was moldy, the sheets were damp. You can imagine it was nice t good for our health. After one hour in the room we had some health issues and we left immediately. The owner was not willing to refund in any possible way. The only way was switching rooms, but after looking at them all, we decided to leave since they all were moldy and full of fungus. Would not recommended to anyone!!!
- T.j.a. (3/5): Poor - The rooms where not clean, moldy and water leaking inside. We decided to move out. Owner could not be reasonable for refund of unused nights.
- Prospero (8/5): Very good -
- Justas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilary (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (2/5): Not a good experience - Not a good experience here. The homestay is right on the main road into Munduk and the loud traffic continues through the night, and rooms have little to no soundproofing, didn't sleep well without earplugs.
Rooms are VERY basic, with no airflow & There is also no common area to make coffee or tea and no kettle in the rooms, something which nearly every other hotel in Bali has.
We asked for extra coffees (due to the lack of kettle/facilities) which they failed to mention was an extra charge and gave us a bill at the end (for black coffee!) "Not a how was your stay, where are you going next" just "here's your bill for some black coffees"
There are other places in the area for a similar price which have much more to offer. The whole experience at this homestay put a damper on our munduk trip unfortunately.
- Anna (7/5): Good - close to the walking path to waterfalls, far from everything else cold water, noise from the street
- Iva (7/5): Great value for money, very friendly staff! - It had beautiful views from the room and balcony. It was in a steel hill and too far from the village considering we were traveling with 2 little kids.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Tal (5/5): Will recommend to go to other place. - Location is great with an amazing view. The room is pretty small.
Hot water is unstable.
- Tomasz (9/5): Superb - Amazing view at the sunset, nice atmosphere, good food
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- Clemence (7/5): Good - We had a really nice stay Puri Sunset Homestay! The personal is really helpful and welcoming. We had no hot shower the first night and the problem was fixed within minutes. There is always someone to help you! The area is quite humid. There is not much ventilation in the room so if you take a shower in the morning and leave for the day, except the humidity in the room, bed and on your clothes. The shower was leaking (noisy and lots of water wasted).
- Manon (5/5): Munduk is in the Moutains so cold weather, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere but like all the others ones. Staff was - Staff was really nice, breakfast and food was good.
Bed was comfortable The bathroom was not so cleaned and really humid. Plus hot water wasn’t stable…
- Chanteloube (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Matteo (5/5): They sent us somewhere else - Without informing before, on our arrival they said they were overbooked and sent us to another hotel. We specifically chose this hotel to stay close to our friends. The new place had a few cockroaches in the room and was not that clean
- Maria (7/5): Good - Nice little homestay with value for money. The sunset is beautiful once the clouds have gone. Quite basic and not super clean. The kids unfortunately got sick from the food. There is nothing else around.
- Alexia (7/5): Good - the view
- Clara (8/5): Very good - The staff was really nice and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. There is not hot water.
- Vladimir (9/5): It is very good place to hike to waterfalls, but be prepared to face high humidity. Clothes wont dry - Personell (Kris ❤️❤️❤️), food, view, nature, small distance to the waterfalls, comfortable bed, the room has all the necessities Hot water isn't stabe (only in room 2), expensive taxi to the place (about 700k from/to Denpasar)
- Jack (10/5): beautiful location, perfect stay - the staff were fantastic, they go out of their way to make you feel very welcome, would definitely stay there again!
- Kristin (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and value. Comfortable family room.
- Juliane (10/5): Warmhearted staff makes you feel at home. Top View! - We had a great time. Krishna is a legend. He and everyone of the staff made this stay especially comfortable and unique.
The food is amazing - try the Cap Cay with rice!
Location is superb with a sea view in the distance. Lots of waterfalls nearby to visit.
See you next time!
July & Konstantin
- Carrie (8/5): So glad I stopped here for an overnight stay in Munduk. - Beautiful view overlooking the hills out to the Bali Sea! The staff, especially Krisna Darma was especially sweet and helpful. Close to 4 different waterfalls. The steps to get up to the hotel.
- Megan (8/5): Very good - Really good location and the staff were very friendly! The breakfast was delicious as well. Only thing was that the room felt slightly damp, not too much of an issue though
- A (8/5): Wonderful holiday 🙏 thank you all! - Love the quiet and being able to walk to Waterfalls. Small menu but Good food.
- Cendrine (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (9/5): Amazing stay with amazing staff - The kindness of my host, he did everything to make our stay perfectly enjoyable.
The food was really good and my room had an amazing view.
The room was very clean and the view from it was amazing. Nothing, everything was perfect
- Melanie (5/5): Passable -
- Conway (10/5): Best Homestay in Munduk - Krisna was so welcoming and was always at hand to help out with any requests. He is always walking around with a big smile on his face.
The bed is super comfy in the room and the balcony is a great size for an evening beer.
The views are outstanding and the breakfast is second to none. There was literally nothing I can fault with this place.
So beautiful and also so affordable.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adela (7/5): Average stay in mountains area - Nice place in the mountains. We chose it because of the view. Perfect breakfast (pancakes) and kind staff. Hot shower! the room was average. The bed sheets were moist and the bed little bit smaller for two. Insects everywhere. Even you close the doors there is space underneath.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (8/5): Very good -
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed there for 3 nights and it was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very yummy. The Rooms are very nice and have comfy beds. Each Room has a little terrace with a stunning view. Right in front of the guest house starts a hiking track from where you have access to all the waterfalls. The location itself is a bit far from shops. We did not have a motorcycle but the staff offered us to drive us to the shops. I would definitely come back. Thanks for all 👌
- Maya (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing hospitality and nice view , 100% recommended
- Clémence (7/5): Nice view but the bathroom was really not clean - Beautiful view, large room! No hot water and Weird smell in the bathroom
- Filippo (10/5): it was a pleasure - The location of the Homestay is unbelievable, right on top on Munduk with breathtaking view.
The staff was very very nice and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable.
Wide menu available for lunch/dinner, the food was delicious and really cheap.
a really good deal!
- Jan (9/5): Superb - staff super and very accommodating. The location and the view are amazing. Breakfast and food perfect. Hot water in the shower and a beautiful garden. Close to the road and sometimes road noise even at night.
- Saveri (9/5): Superb -
- Victoria (8/5): very convenient, great waterfalls hike right outside. wonderful hospitality - beautiful sunset views and great hospitality you could hear traffic from the road
- Rosemarie (10/5): Exceptional - Worth the price, the location is easy to find. Its a cute room fit for my business visit, done the job and back for a comfy bed. The owner couple and staff are soooo warm and welcome, feels like home on mountain high! Try the Indonesian chicken curry, didn't expect it was good for a last minutes order for a craving food.
Good job guys, keep it up!!
