• Yolisa (1/5): - i did enjoy the location of the lodge, its a forest and its very quite. the entire weekend was rained out. there is not much to do as couldnt even swim. the internet did not work all weekend so could not even watch netfix Disappointing Stay at Royal Bakoena My husband and I recently stayed at Royal Bakoena, and unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations. Prior to arrival, we were sent an online check-in form requesting guest details, which we completed in full for both of us. However, upon arrival at reception, we were asked to complete the exact same form again in hard copy. When we queried this, we were simply told it was required. This felt unnecessary and frustrating, especially after already providing the information online. We were delayed due to heavy rain and attempted to call the reception using the number listed on Booking.com to inform them. The phone rang unanswered, leaving us unable to communicate our delay. Arrival at the property was extremely unpleasant. The lodge is situated in a forested area, and upon reaching the gate, we were left waiting in complete darkness. There was no immediate assistance. Eventually, we resorted to hooting. When a security guard finally arrived, we were told the motorised gate was not working and it had to be opened manually. This did not feel safe or welcoming. We were allocated Room 1, which was in a very poor state of cleanliness. The room was filthy. The taps were covered in grime, the shower head had heavy calcium buildup, the shower arm was visibly dirty, and the water pressure was nothing more than a trickle, making showering extremely difficult. To make matters worse, the reception was already closed, there are no telephone lines in the rooms, and there was no way to report these issues or request assistance. The mattress was very uncomfortable , you could feel the spring In the morning i went to complain and we were moved to a much cleaner room 8, with good water pressure and a comfortable bed

The manager is a liar, he lied to us and told us he I just a trainee at the hotel so he couldn't be liable to answer some of our questions, and two of his staffed later told us he is the manager of the place. We approached him regarding that and he just said he is sorry. So that wasn't cool.

Location in the bushy area with no signs..Roof was leaking, so the kids' bedsheets were wet. Linen was not changed regularly .Breakfast was nice, but the menu needs to be changed daily.. The guests must be asked firstly about the menu before serving.. We were not finishing our breakfast due to the same food.. Hardly a person at the reception. Pictures on the website deceiving.

The staff is amazing especially Kgosi, very accommodating and hands on, no request was too much for him and he was so polite, welcoming and professional. The privacy in the rooms was the cherry on top for us, this was our second visit and we appreciated all the improvements we saw. The shower had a blockage and the toilet had a leakage. A proper check of the rooms before check in can prevent such. The breakfast was good value for money but it would be nice to be asked what we prefer before being served.

The place is big and u need to wait for one lady I forgot her name for assistance.

The property is central to other amenities such as Lowveld Mall and Hazyview Junction shopping centre which was convenient. 3. The property is close to the Numbi Gate Entrance to the Kruger National Park. 1. We had to change room because the bed was sagging and we could hear the springs on the one side of the bed. 2. The second room had an air-con that was not fully operational, it could not heat the room as the weather was cold, my spouse ended up catching a flu.

The shower drainage did not work properly and spilled water on throughout the floor which caused a mess in the room.

• Justin (10/5): - At first, you drive along a sketchy road to the lodge until you are surprised by breathtaking scenery. We booked the accommodation as a stopover without any great expectations and were completely surprised. Beautiful grounds, incredibly friendly staff, and fantastic rooms. Kurt, the manager, conjured up a wonderful dinner for us on request and told us a bit about the history of the lodge, as well as giving us further tips for Kruger National Park. We were also able to have breakfast earlier without any problems. Overall, everything was done to make us happy. If our trip hadn't been completely planned out, we would have loved to stay longer. WIFI wasn't really good
