Guest Reviews
- Senthilvel Natarajan (10/5): Serene and Pristine environment - Overall, very good place for relaxation and ayurvedic rejuvenation amidst salubrious and pristine environment. The room was enormous with a plunge pool and luxurious four poster bed which gave us utmost comfort and deep sleep.
Beautiful spacious bathroom, plenty of storage with traditional furnishings. Lush greenery and the song of the peacocks and other birds, dancing monkeys offer lots of free entertainment. Staff were so professional and kind in fulfilling our requests including our three day extension of stay due to cyclone ditwa and road closure. Our package included wonderful elaborate breakfast and quality Ayurveda treatments by attentive therapists.
Had some initial hiccups where hot water wasn't working in the bathroom which they fixed attentively. Due to being home for wild elephants, safety restrictions beyond specific time in the evening apply but the staff guide appropriately.
Special thanks/Stuti to Chandana, Laksha, Ranga, therapists, restaurant and housing keeping staff for looking after us so well during our stay.
Would highly recommend for guests of all ages to experience Ayugiri hospitality. Nothing specific.

Dobre śniadania i posiłki.
- Natasha (9/5): A beautiful and peaceful stay with fantastic staff and stunning nature around; the Ayurvedic side, especially the consul - I really enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the hotel. The room and bathroom were fantastic, and having a private pool surrounded by nature — with monkeys and peacocks passing by — made the experience unforgettable. Rajitha, the housekeeping manager, guided me throughout my stay with great kindness and attention, and Chandana, the hotel manager, was very accommodating with my check-in and check-out needs. I also had a wonderful massage with Muthumanika, who treated me with care and helped me release emotional blockages I was disappointed that the promised 20-minute Ayurvedic consultation never happened. I was hoping to understand more about the treatments and their benefits, but instead I was sent straight to the spa after filling out an intake form. The Ayurvedic food was also below my expectations — especially considering that the booking highlighted it as a key part of the experience, and I’ve had better meals at less expensive hotels.
- Sarah (8/5): The only thing that the hotel should improve is the food in the evening. - We had an amazing time, the spa treatment were amazing The evening dinner wasn’t to good
- Louisa (4/5): 1 night stay off season. - An incredible massage. Close to Sigiriya. We felt pressured to eat in the restaurant for dinner, but did not have a menu. They asked several times before eventually showing us the menu and we decided not to.
There was no character in the breakfast room. If you aren’t looking to immerse yourself in Ayurveda I wouldn’t recommend it.
- Gregory (10/5): Will certainly return! - Chandana and his team lovely of staff were absolutely brilliant. For the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were very well looked after. The resort was absolutely everything we wanted during our stay. Incredibly private and peaceful. Everything was perfect for us. This is exactly what we wanted.
- Ross (10/5): Secluded resort with exceptional accommodation and a very special Ayurvedic treatment experience. - Gorgeous room, lovely food and surroundings. Staff were exceptional, friendly, made us feel like royalty! The ayurvedic treatments were wonderful - the best massage I have ever had.
- Vincent (10/5): Heaven in the wild - Beautiful accommodation and staff to match.
We had breakfast in a tree house.
The spa offers wonderful massage services. Leaving
- Simon (7/5): Good but a few issues - The setting of the hotel is amazing, beautiful grounds and view. Really feel like you are in a secluded estate. Seeing the peacocks and other wildlife roaming around is very cool.
The staff are extremely nice and went out of their way to help us, particularly Praveen was very kind in organising things for us. He was very easy to contact about everything, including a phone left behind so we really appreciate him in helping us, made out stay much better!
The room is nicely done, and a great size. The main hotel pool is also very nice.
The treatments are nice and relaxing. At least during our stay it wasn't busy so we had no issues organising them when it suited us. They were flexible in accommodating what we wanted out of it.
Overall the hotel is very calm and a great place to relax. Given that this is one of the more expensive hotels in Sigiriya there were a few disappointing things that meant the hotel wasn't as amazing as it could have been.
The breakfast was mediocre at best, especially as two vegetarians. Even though we had noted this the night before we were still served meat, which was just removed from the plate still with some of the grease left. Even the fruit didn't seem ripe. They did have an Ayurvedic breakfast which was vegetarian but this was only offered to us after we saw another guest having it and asked about it. There is also nothing vegetarian on the dinner menu, though we ate outside the hotel anyway.
The room lacks a few features that I would expect from a hotel of this price, particularly a fridge and an iron.
There were very often staff working outside the room on the window/pool side which meant it didn't always feel private. While we understand that work has to be done, it would be better if there was at least some notice of when this happening.
It would be nicer if the plunge pool by the room could be turned on from the room, rather than calling reception. Given that the main pool is also quite far, i.e. mostly accessed by golf kart, it just means it's difficult to spontaneously use either.
Overall it is a nice hotel but these things kept us from really appreciating it, particularly given the price.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional experience - A Truly Restorative Wellness Retreat
Our second stay at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort in Sigiriya again was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the peace, nature, and genuine warmth from the staff.
The setting is breathtaking — lush greenery, v tranquil views, and an atmosphere that instantly makes you slow down. Our suite was expansive and tranquil, with a huge, comfortable bed, a spa-like bathroom, and a private plunge pool overlooking the forest canopy. Mornings began with birdsong and soft sunlight filtering through the trees. There’s no rush here — just space to breathe, rest, and rediscover stillness.
The Ayurvedic treatments were outstanding. The resident doctor was kind and attentive, and each therapy was tailored to our needs. The therapists were professional, skilled, and genuinely caring — every session left us feeling lighter and completely relaxed.
The food was light, fresh, and nourishing, aligned with Ayurvedic principles. It’s not indulgent dining, but every meal felt like part of the wellness journey — balanced, beautiful, and made with care it perfectly complements the wellness philosophy of the resort.
A special mention must go to the staff, who were exceptional throughout our stay. They truly go above and beyond — warm, attentive, and respectful, without ever being intrusive. Every detail, from the herbal teas to the evening turn-down service, felt thoughtful and intentional. We were surprised every time with the location of our b/fast and diners.
A heartfelt thank you to Lackshan, who was wonderful with our little boy — he played with him, kept him engaged, and made sure he never felt bored. It meant so much to us and made our stay even more special.
This is not a place for nightlife or crowds it’s designed for peace, rest, and self-care. If you’re looking for a luxury wellness retreat in Sri Lanka where you can truly unwind and reconnect with yourself, Ayugiri is a gem.
- Isabella (10/5): Perfect - We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! 💆♀️✨
The Ayurvedic spa experience was truly wonderful — their treatments help you completely relax both body and mind, and the whole atmosphere feels peaceful and rejuvenating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the food is delicious, with many healthy and fresh options.
A special thank you to Praveen, who works at the hotel and helped us with everything — from organizing tours to assisting with anything we needed. He was always kind, available, and extremely helpful!
It was also my husband’s birthday, and the team went above and beyond — they decorated our room beautifully and arranged a special dinner for us. It was such a thoughtful surprise that made our stay even more memorable.
The hotel is very close to Lion Rock in Sigiriya, which makes it the perfect place to stay when visiting Sri Lanka. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for well-being, relaxation, and a truly special Ayurvedic experience. 🌿✨ Nothing
- Fossi (10/5): -
- Katie (10/5): - We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful away from the bustle of Sigiriya. The treatments were heavenly and we did a lot of birdwatching around their gardens - we saw more birds at Ayugiri than anywhere else in Sri Lanka, it was truly amazing!! Breakfast was heavenly! But for lunch and dinner there was no vegan meal options which is surprising for an ayurvedic retreat but the staff were very helpful organising us transport to Sigiriya for dinner and back.
- Tobias (10/5): Heerlijk resort!
- Bhavin Sureshbhai (10/5): Excellent stay and highly recomended to anyone visiting sigiriya - Amazing hotel with excellent rooms. Staff is super attentive and the facilities are very good. The treatment and consultation was very good and would highly recommend it. The location is very peaceful whilst equally not far from sigiriya rock as well. Special mention to all the amazing staff at the property who were very nice
- Abbigail (10/5): Stunning location & rooms. Such a treat - This was such a beautiful luxury stay in Sri Lanka. You really feel in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wildlife. Rooms were fantastic, food was delicious, treatments perfect. We loved everything about it. Although we enjoyed the food in the restaurant we recommend getting a tuktuk to the local town near to lions rock for more bar/restaurant atmosphere
- J (8/5): Super fijn resort met geweldig personeel - De kamer was erg comfortabel en prachtig ingericht. Geweldig XXL Kingsize bed!
- Nicla (9/5): Un posto da vedere - La disponibilità dello staff è l’architettura Il cibo. La visita medica molto superficiale
- Valeria (9/5): -
- Martin (10/5): You’ll want to come back many times! - The room was one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed in. It was so spacious and the indoor plunge pool was amazing. The staff were very friendly, the food was beautiful and the treatments were very relaxing. Nothing. I loved it all!
- Angelica (10/5): - Staff cordiale e disponibile.
- veronique (10/5): - Great location
Customer service of staff
Aryuveda treatments
- ANGELOS (10/5): -
All’alba è bellissimo vedere in lontananza Sigiriya Rock, wow! Stanza spaziosa e curata, massaggi professionali. Struttura wellness vecchia
- Boris (10/5): Luxery welness resort to relax with a top staff - Very nice facilities, extreme luxurious rooms, nature all over but above all the staff was extraordinary - special thanks to Praveen - (high potential hotel staff member) and 2 top managers Navodya - Chandana All good…
- Maha (6/5): Disappointed not as expected😞 - I liked the calmness and the staff were very friendly and polite. The resort lack of so many essential amenities. The Wifi did not work in the resort for the first three days. Also, the phone was not working so I could not contact the resception if needed. The room service did not clean my room very well I found dirts and left overs after the cleaning. The rooms were not clean as in the pic
- Kevin (8/5): Great place for massage therapy sessions - Hotel most amazing part is the massage treatments that they offer when you book your stay. One of the best massage treatments I’ve ever had and the team was amazing.
Villa was big and the staff was always available to help although they didn’t all speak English that was challenging at times.
Great view of the famous Rock from the main dining area. Hotel is located down a busy dirt road that is dark and secluded from the main road making you trapped at the hotel after sunset since we traveled Sri Lanka in a Tuktuk and the staff told us it will be dangerous to drive out because elephants can be around that road.
Breakfast is extremely basic and on our only lunch that we ate there it took them 2 hours to serve us grilled chicken and soup, which was very annoying and the restaurant was empty with only one other
Table being served. After complaining they said that they were first serving Room service orders before the restaurant orders ( strange answer ).
Hotel is missing personality and there is not actual vibe to it as you will find in most hotels in Sri Lanka.
Villa is great but there is no AC in the bathroom or shower area so once you open the door to the bathroom you get a heat stroke and have to deal with it while you are in the bathroom.
At this price point I would recommend staying somewhere else.
- naz (10/5): It was one of the best hotel I ever stayed. We enjoyed a lot! Planning to come again and stay longer. - Service, food, hospitality, everything was perfect Nothing
- Hagar (9/5): - The room view was nice, spacious and facilities were nice, pool was inside the room, safe and clean for insect, treatment was so nice The pool was freezing cold, with no way to be heated, the hotel has a lot of insects.
The hotel don't offer tea in the room or coffee.
- Simon (10/5): We have travelled widely and I would say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at and a must stop if you visit S - One of the most unique stays we have had anywhere. With the possibility of elephants and monkeys and all sorts of creatures within the grounds you really feel on the edge of the jungle but in safety. Lakshan, Hesita and Rajitha were superb host and helped us above and beyond.
We stayed in one of the two presidential suites and these are amazing large spaces. With your own separate pool room and plunge pool you can spread out and relax. We stayed for 4 nights over my 60th birthday and the team couldn’t have done more to make our stay a joyous occasion.
The treatments were well run and very professional and we had one each day included in the price The rooms are great and the layout of the property whilst dispersed is fantastic. The beautiful reception building is so stylish and for dining provides excellent views of the grounds and towards Lions Rock.
- Blanca (8/5): A peaceful and nature-filled retreat with warm hospitality — just needs more flexibility in wellness scheduling to truly - Absolutely serene and soul-soothing experience!
From the moment we arrived at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort, we were enveloped in a sense of calm and peace. The location is truly breathtaking — surrounded by nature, it feels like a hidden sanctuary where every breath fills you with tranquility.
The staff were outstanding — always attentive and ready to assist with anything we needed, yet never intrusive. Their warm smiles and gentle presence made us feel incredibly welcomed while still giving us the space to truly unwind and connect with ourselves.
We were especially touched by their hospitality of which added a personal and heartfelt touch to our stay. The views from the dining area were nothing short of stunning — a perfect backdrop to every meal, whether sunrise or sunset.
Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with nature and themselves. Will definitely return!
Special mention to lakshan, the yoga teacher and the kitchen & fb team !! The only downside of our stay was the lack of flexibility around the Ayurvedic treatments. Although massages were included in our package, we weren’t able to experience a single one during our three-day stay. The treatment schedule was fully booked and unfortunately not adaptable to our itinerary — even with availability in the mornings (like 8–11 AM), we couldn’t be accommodated.
This is especially challenging because most guests, like us, come not only for wellness but also to explore nearby attractions like Sigiriya and other cultural sites. The current setup doesn't allow enough flexibility to balance both. Expanding the spa team and extending treatment hours would make a big difference and ensure guests can actually enjoy the full Ayurveda experience without having to choose between a massage or seeing the sights.
It’s worth noting the staff were doing their best within the limits of the system — the issue lies in how the operations are organized.
- Nimesh (10/5): Ayugiri is more than just a resort — it’s a journey into wellness, balance, and self-care. The sincerity of the staff an - • Healing Ambience: The location is stunning — surrounded by lush greenery with views of the iconic Sigiriya Rock nearby. The environment itself feels therapeutic.
• Authentic Ayurveda Treatments: The treatments were professionally guided by experienced Ayurvedic doctors. From massages to herbal therapies, each session felt thoughtfully personalized to my needs.
• Skilled and Caring Therapists: The therapists were kind, attentive, and well-trained, making the wellness journey both relaxing and effective.
• Wholesome Ayurvedic Meals: Every meal was beautifully prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, tailored to my body type as advised by the doctor. Nutritious, light, and satisfying.
• Comfortable Accommodation: The rooms are spacious, minimalist, and comfortable, encouraging rest and relaxation. The open views of nature add to the calming atmosphere.
• Yoga and Meditation: Daily yoga and guided meditation sessions were a beautiful complement to the treatments, helping both body and mind find balance.
- Sean (10/5): Pure relaxation backed by an incredible team - The property and grounds were insanely beautiful. The suites themselves were extremely spacious, clean, relaxing and private. The shower even had a ceiling window so you could look up into the nature above. Lakshan and team were the highlight. They were attentive to every request we had, organising a number of outings while still ensuring we had our daily treatments scheduled. Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing stay to unwind and feel rejuvenated leaving, this is the place for you. Although we were happy as we were looking to unwind, the vibe is extremely relaxed and there is no alcohol etc. If you are looking for more of an uptempo atmosphere, this may not be the option for you

- Rojas (10/5): An opulent rejuvenating atmosphere and the most kind and attentive staff! - Absolutely stunning! We loved how the location was very close and in a good area of Sigaria but secluded enough to not hear any cars or town noise. It was an oasis! The staff were absolutely incredible, they cared for us so attentively. The food was phenomenal, every dish left us wanting more and we find ourselves looking for a cook book that can help us create these dishes at home. I have no complaints. Maybe a weight lifting gym would be a nice addition but not exactly necessary.
- Mariia (10/5): Nature is amazing, rooms are luxury, stuff is absolutely stunning - Nature is amazing, rooms are luxury, stuff is absolutely stunning
- Heather (8/5): Fantastic staff, just a few tweaks needed... - The staff could not have done more for us, they were so attentive, kind, thoughtful, helpful and friendly. The main pool was just wonderful, and the pool attendees did a great job of clearing all the leaves and making sure we had cushions and towels, despite us being the only people using it for our entire stay. The Ayurvedic treatment that we had was really professional and a great experience, despite our reservations and uncertainty around it (just a new experience for us!) The room was big, and the bathrooms were great, and the room was made up every day. The location was so peaceful, with just the sounds and sights of nature. A little scary on the first night but we came to love it. The food for dinner was absolutely delicious and really well made, and our waiter was really attentive. We even had a really special private dinner set up for us with fire beacons and lanterns and a special mocktail, this was a highlight for us. We had bicycles to help us get around the resort, but after dark or when heading to the treatments they came and picked us up with a buggy, which was perfect. They were always on time and really easy to communicate with via WhatsApp, coming back within a couple of minutes nearly every time. The remote location made it tricky to get transport to go anywhere off site. We used the ride apps but quite often found it tricky to get someone to come out to us. There were very limited activities on site, the focus really is on rest and relaxation, with the Ayurvedic treatments at the centre of it all. We spied and asked to use the 8 ball pool table and were invited to do so, which was a nice way to spend an hour together, but apart from that there wasn't much to do. The sheets and towels weren't always pristine - while I am sure they were clean and fresh, they had quite a few marks on them which is a little off putting. The room could have done with some painting or artwork to brighten it up, in keeping with the natural theme, and in the bathroom a towel hook by the shower, a shelf for toiletries in the shower and some posh toiletries would have felt better for the price we paid for the presidential suite. While the dinner was really tasty, the choice for food is incredibly limited. Breakfast is a set meal, either Sri Lankan or Western, neither of which really suited our taste. For dinner there was a choice of three main courses, while the starters and deserts were set. That said, they did keep offering to provide what we wanted, but variety was lacking (I can see why when there are only a handful of guests at a time, but this isn't made clear when booking). There is no shop onsite, and the nearest proper supermarket is a half hour tuk tuk ride away. There is nowhere to get a drink from onsite either, except water. This really is a retreat rather than a resort it seems, but with a few tweaks they could easily cater for a more varied clientele - the staff could definitely make it work if that is what the business want, I can't praise them highly enough, a real credit to the hotel.
- Blandine (8/5): Wonderful stay - The location in insane, you wake up and see those little monkey , peacok in front of your terrace. the healthy and light meals . And the kindness of the staff They should explain more about the treatment
- Guest (10/5): -
- Irjan (10/5): Sigiriya short stay - Great hospitality
- Sinem (10/5): - very nice hotel and people are owesome
- Enrique (10/5): Unique spot to recharge yourself - The surroundings are genuinely unique. It was the first time I was in a hotel and I opened the door of my room and I was able to see monkeys, peacocks and squirrels. This along with the warmth of the staff (including receptionists, yoga masters, doctor and massage therapists) makes it a experience I will always remember Dinner could have had more variety of options
- Kristi (9/5): The best location to stay while visiting the ancient cities! - The staff was truly amazing!
They pay attention to every little detail and are super dedicated, talented and professional
- warren (10/5): - Our stay at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort in Sigiriya was an incredibly rejuvenating and memorable experience. The resort is surrounded by lush, beautiful grounds, and we spent hours watching the playful monkeys, which were a delight to see. The environment itself was peaceful and tranquil, a perfect backdrop for our Ayurvedic journey.
The staff were outstanding—every person we interacted with was attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. They treated us like royalty, ensuring we were well taken care of at all times. A particularly thoughtful touch was the fresh, refreshing drinks made for us by the bar men, which were perfect for the warm weather. We were also treated to a surprise breakfast in the tree house, which was an unforgettable experience, made even more magical by the beautiful setting and delicious food.
We also enjoyed a fantastic evening on the lawn, where we had dinner while watching the Sri Lankan cultural show and enjoying the bonfire. It was a beautiful way to experience the local culture and a great addition to our stay.
The Ayurvedic food was nourishing and, while it took me a day or two to adjust to the food and flavours, I felt fantastic after enjoying the meals. The only minor repetition was with some of the fruit, but the overall quality of the food was exceptional.
During my brief period of being unwell, the doctor, nurses, and therapists were incredibly attentive and supportive. The Dr ensured I received the right care, offering advice, medication, and reassurance that I could reach out for help if needed. The therapists were wonderful, but it would have been even better to have a few more staff to offer a broader variety of techniques. Additionally, we would have appreciated more explanation about the powders and oils being applied during treatments, as understanding their benefits would have enhanced the experience.
- Oluwatosin (10/5): This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. 10/10 - Everything
- stephane (9/5): Very Good to place to reboot yourself from busy lifestyle reality. - Very quiet and well look after.
Room was big and confortable.
Nice restaurant and food.
SPA was simple but pleasant and the staff too. Nothing major. Maybe the food who was a bit repetitive with the dishes.
- Melanie (10/5): Rejuvenating and relaxing! - Thank you Lakshan, Buwaneka, and the rest of the Ayugiri team for making my stay at your ayuverdic resort so special! They went above and beyond by arranging a complimentary pottery class and one-on-one yoga classes in addition to the 2.5 hours of daily personalized ayuverdic treatments. I was also able to enjoy nearly every meal in a different scenic spot on the beautiful Ayugiri property while observing fireflies or wild peacocks. Also, the rooms are so lush and beautifully designed with relaxation in mind! The staff were incredibly accommodating and gracious. And the ayuverdic treatments really helped my skin issues and helped me relax after a crazy travel schedule! Thank you for such special stay Ayugiri Team! Nothing!
- Bobby Jensen (10/5): Breathtaking location, the best staff, so much privacy and the best ayurveda treatments - The rooms were so big and comfortable, the staff attends to your needs making you feel pampered throughout your stay, my treatments were just amazing the doctor and therapist are so aware of what you need and they are so kind and attentive..The food when you eat feels so light and is totally tasty the presentation was so good.. I just couldn't wait long enough to take a picture before i ate it. There were peacocks everywhere, the yoga master is amazing.. My stay was unexpectedly amazing as it was a last minute stop this time but i will come again to stay longer as it was what i needed exactly..
- Adams (10/5): Amazing stay - This is an amazingly beautiful resort covered in nature. My stay at Ayugiri will remain in my heart & soul for many years to come. Staff were truly amazing, so friendly and always with big smiles all around. Ayurveda treatments were really good. My therapist Mangala is a true gem. I feel reborn & rejuvenated. Meals were exceptionally tasty & served only healthy cuisine. I am sad My stay at this little heaven was too short. I am already looking forward to my next visit to this paradise. Everything I simply love.
- Lucas (10/5): An Exceptional Stay - The most amazing stay in Sri Lanka. Resort is surrounded by forest & lakes from all sides. Huge landscape with a direct view to the most famous Sigiriya rock. My villa had its own plunge pool facing the jungle and I was so lucky to see elephants passing by while in it. This was truly an amazing experience. Villa is huge & spacious, very clean. Staff here is so friendly and very attentive to you. They will spoil you with their love and care, I will miss their beautiful smiles. Ayurveda treatments were exceptionally good. Therapist was so kind and did an amazing job. Had a lovely herbal bath which was so relaxing with zero disturbance as it was too facing the jungle, one can only hear birds. Meals & snacks were mouthwateringly tasty. They only serve very healthy options at meal times. I wish I had more time to spend here, but most certainly be back. A big thanks to everyone at Ayugiri for this amazing experience.
- Rebecca (4/5): The Ayurvedic Wellness program is not credible. The resort has a nice concept that they do not provide. It is expensive - The staff was very kind and tried hard. Size of room. Nature. The Yoga Master and his Assistant. They say it is an Ayurvedic Wellness Resort, and promised 2 hours of treatments, and all that a Ayurvedic Wellness Center should be. It is a HOAX. The massages used cold non-herbal oils, and the body scrub with sand nearly took my skin off. My husband slipped in the oily herbal bath tub and hit his head. Our treatments never exceeded 1 1/2 hours. One day the therapist went to lunch at my treatment time and I had an assistant as a “therapist”. Note: there were ONLY 3 other rooms filled at the time we were there, so they were not busy. The doctor did not prescribe anything for my condition until I asked. There is not an Ayurvedic pharmacy on premises as credible Ayurvedic Wellness Centers have. We had to find a pharmacy and purchase our own medicines to continue medication. Other center’s give you the medicine.
Our meals were NOT Ayurvedic, or prepared with our health goals stipulated. We said NO MEAT and very low carbohydrates. We were served Chicken and all carbohydrate breakfasts! The doctor did not coordinate a diet with the kitchen. Other Ayurvedic programs coordinate your food as a part of your treatment and give you specific foods for your needs (food as medicine).
Our recently renovated room had 3 major water leeks in the ceiling and coming out of a light fixture in the bathroom. The water leaked on my computer! The room was hazardous, there are two very dangerous steps that have “danger tape” on them, but you cannot see the tape at night. The step into the bathroom is especially dangerous with the door being so heavy it is almost impossible to open.
The yoga pavilion and yoga mats are filthy. We asked for it to be cleaned, but nothing was done.
Last, but not least, the Manager was rude and condescending. He told us we were totally wrong about this fake Ayurvedic program, and they ha ve “the REAL Ayurvedic program” versus their well awarded-for -excellence competitors.

- Anna (10/5): We had a great experience - We liked everything about the resort, excellent location surrounded by greenery, very clean spacious villas, very kind staff and great service. The food was delicious and the ayrovedic treatments we had were very relaxing and rejuvenating . The General Manager of the hotel Mr Buwaneka was very welcoming and hospitable he made sure that we had everything we need during our stay. We had a truly unique experience in Ayugiri Wellness Resort.
- DePaul (9/5): Excelente - Le gente simpática y servicial.
La comida excelente.
Vistas increíbles y tranquilo. Que no ofrezcan alcohol de ningún tipo.
- Sarina (10/5): - Our stay at Ayugiri Ayurveda Wellness Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that we felt right at home. The staff here is truly exceptional—everyone goes out of their way to ensure you feel your absolute best. Their genuine care and attentiveness made our experience unforgettable.
The Ayurveda treatments were a true highlight, offering a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. You can feel the authenticity in every part of the experience, with treatments designed to not only heal but also reconnect you with yourself.
Our room was beyond amazing—spacious, beautifully designed, and complete with a private pool and terrace that opened up to breathtaking views of the wild, untamed nature. It’s rare to find such a serene, unspoiled environment that makes you feel so calm and at peace. The large natural area surrounding the resort has a healing energy that’s hard to describe, but it definitely worked its magic on us.
We can’t forget to mention the food! The chef prepared some outstanding dishes that were both delicious and nourishing, perfectly complementing the wellness experience.
I truly wish I could have stayed longer. If you’re looking for something special—whether it’s to relax, rejuvenate, or simply connect with yourself—this place is a must. You’ll not only be treated like royalty but also leave feeling transformed in the best way. We cannot recommend Ayugiri enough!
Thank you for everything — you were truly amazing! To the entire Ayugiri team, we are so grateful for the care and kindness you showed us during our stay. You’ll be missed!
- Dean Fuller (10/5): - My stay at Ayu Giri Wellness Hotel in Dambulla was nothing short of exceptional. Tucked away in a serene jungle setting, the hotel offers the perfect blend of luxury and nature. The Ayurvedic consultation was detailed, and the wellness treatments were a truly healing experience, customized to suit individual needs. The rooms were spacious, elegantly designed, and featured private plunge pools that made for the ultimate relaxation. The tranquil surroundings, coupled with the sounds of nature, provided a peaceful escape from the stresses of everyday life.
Beyond the accommodations, the entire atmosphere of the hotel is designed to foster rejuvenation and well-being. Strolling through the lush gardens and unwinding by the pool was incredibly calming. The Ayurveda experts offered a wealth of knowledge, guiding me through treatments and dietary advice that enhanced my physical and mental wellness. The hotel’s emphasis on holistic healing is apparent in every aspect, from the wellness consultations to the beautifully prepared, nourishing meals.
The jungle setting adds a special charm to the stay. You feel entirely immersed in nature, whether you're enjoying a morning yoga session or simply sitting by your plunge pool listening to the gentle rustling of the trees. The combination of luxury, wellness, and nature makes this a must-visit destination for anyone seeking rest and renewal. I left feeling completely refreshed and invigorated. Highly recommended for those who want a transformative wellness experience in a stunning, peaceful setting! Nothing.
- Fiyoni (10/5): An amazing Ayurveda Holiday in Sri Lanka - My stay at this luxury Ayurveda Resort in Sigirya, Sri Lanka brought back the deeper connection with nature itself. The Ayurveda treatments at the Resort was exceptional and the Doctor was able to identify my doshas and work on a detox programme for me and all the meals were customized. The team at Ayugiri was excellent and friendly and supportive during my wellness holiday in Sri Lanka. The best part of my stay was seeing the wild elephants roaming about freely.
- Mario (10/5): Excellent - I stumbled upon this property on booking.com by chance, and it turned out to be an amazing find. The treatments were superb, the food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly attentive. One night is definitely not enough to experience everything this property has to offer. I highly recommend it for a truly exceptional wellness retreat.
