Guest Reviews
- Katia (8/5): -
- Mathieu (3/5): Do not recommend - Landlady is kind and welcoming. Breakfast is great Very old house with too many rooms, so everything is small. If you are more than 1.85m, you won’t stand up anywhere.
Isolation is poor so the room is noisy from the road and either hot or cold.
Heating is not working through the night.
You stop there if you have to.
- Petr (7/5): - Location near loch with stunning views to sunset over the Cobbler.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We have got recommendations for dinner places nearby which were very good.
Breakfast was varied and served on agreed on time by the friendly host.
It was a nice surprise to find old 1993 magazines about Scotland in the room, it was fun to read through them! The main problem is the noise. The traffic on the road straight in front of the room window is heavy and the house is not sound insulated enough so you can hear trucks and motorbikes all night.
Our room had very low ceiling. People over 180 cm will have problem fitting into shower with fixed shower head. The shower is a story by itself, the electric heating mounted inside the shower got me seriously worried.
- Lori (10/5): Looking outside my window and being surrounded by mountains, breathtaking - Loved that it was walking distance to restaurants, loved how we were so close to the water, , the hosts were beautiful people, that were so friendly made us feel at home and having a home cooked breakfast I couldn’t fault it
- Stefan (8/5): -
- Arnie (8/5): Comfortable Place to Stay an hour from Glascow Airport - Clean, comfortable. Great breakfast. Very helpful host. Would stay there again. Low Ceilings for some folks, OK for us though.
- Kirit (9/5): Wonderful hosts, fantastic views. Really enjoyed our stay at Rowentreebank. - Melissa was there to greet us and provided us with information on what places were available to eat on the day of our arrival (Monday), and sights to see in the area. The room had wonderful views of the Loch and breakfast of fantastic, there was plenty to choose from. Thanks you Paul and Melissa for being wonderful hosts.

- giraud (8/5): - Bon rapport qualité prix
Hote tres accueillante
Tres bon petit déjeuner
A recommander

- Sandra (8/5): Süßes kleines Bed and Brrakfast :) - Süßes, kleines Bed and Breakfast mit viel Charme.

- adrian (8/5): Loved staying here. Melissa was very helpful and welcoming. - Warm welcome. Great breakfast. Great location for access to hills and mountains. Arrochar had a great restaurant nearby called Cu Mari. The village shop had enough of what we needed. There was a garage five minutes walk away. The local pub was two minutes away. Only the shower which was a bit weak on pressure.
- Mary (6/5): Lovely bnb for a 1 night stay - The view from our bedroom over the mountains was amazing.
The area was great, lovely pub with great food 2 minutes walk away
Melissa was a fantastic host, she was waiting to greet us when we arrived and was so friendly and welcoming. She told us about breakfast and what we would like, also the time that suited us to eat.
The beds were very comfortable.
The breakfast was great. It was good for a 1 night stay, the room was a little small for a longer stay

- Sarah (8/5): Pleasant stay with warm hospitality - Lovely Loch side location. Although located on busy road it wasn’t noisy. Melissa was warm and welcoming. Lovely full Scottish breakfast provided.
We’re able to change rooms to downstairs which was great as we had lots of bags as cycle touring.
Local recommendations provided for dinner. Room was small but we were aware of this when we booked. Room was quite light.
- Angela (10/5): - Location fantastic. Breakfast great. Great stay and great laugh with the owners
- Samantha (7/5): Cosy stay, comfy beds and a good breakfast. - Friendly staff. Nothing. It was just the job.
- Jaydeep (8/5): - The location was great. Easy to find. There was noise coming from the floor above probably water pump or from someone using the washroom.
- Marlene (10/5): Perfect place to stay with wonderful views. - Beautiful bed & breakfast with amazing views over the loch. Very peaceful and relaxing Room was renovated with comfortable bed and great size bathroom. Hosts were so friendly and recommended great places to have dinner close by. Breakfast was great with many options including a cooked breakfast!
Highly recommended! N/A
- VickyLambert (10/5): Great B&B in a great location - Melissa and Paul were very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very clean. Great view of The Cobbler from the establishment. Nothing
- Sophie (10/5): Really comfortable, would recommend - Really comfortable and cosy, the host was very welcoming and the breakfast was really nice with loads of options! Room and bathroom were clean and had a lovely view over the loch. Location is good, close to the hiking trails and pubs/restaurants in Arrochar.
- Tremo94 (9/5): -
- Lennart (9/5): Lovely little B&B with view of the Loch - Great host, great breakfast, great view of the Loch from the attic room. Definitely a great place to stay when you're in the area. Only small caveat: WiFi wasn't the best. But we weren't really bothered by it.
- Alan (9/5): Lovely - Location, friendly, helpful, great breakfast with lots of choices, lovely views. It was great to have a car parking although a little difficult as on a steep incline.
- Dafydd (10/5): - Melissa lovely, comfy bed, lovely breakfast
- Catherine (8/5): Convenient overnight stop for travelling north - Location. Good view over the loch. Good breakfast, cheerful and helpful host Small room
- Ludivine chauvin (9/5): - L'accueil, l'emplacement, le petit déjeuner
- Belle (8/5): Very comfortable and offered exactly what we needed - It was a comfortable stay, we had a lake view room, and it was so pretty. We were blessed with good weather too.
- John (8/5): - Delightful bed and breakfast near Loch Lomond in Scotland
- Gary (7/5): -
- Linda (5/5): Incomplete - Unfortunately we were not able to complete our stay so didn't sleep there or have breakfast.
The view from the bedroom was nice and Melissa the host was very friendly at check in and amenable when we had to leave. As already said we had to leave a couple of hours after to check in due to an unresolveable problem with the room.
I was very upset at the response by the owner's husband when I had to speak to him about the issue in the room. He was very rude, aggressive, dismissive, unhelpful and very unprofessional.
Melissa was completely opposite.
- Dheeraj (10/5): -
- Enya (9/5): -
- Gary (10/5): A lovely wee break made even better by the care of our host. - Location was fabulous. Melissa was an exceptional host. Very kind, chatty and cheerful. Fantastic customer service. N/A
- Judith (8/5): A picturesque place to stay on the way - Fabulous view from the room of Loch Long.
Good temperature in room, comfortable firm mattress. Access a little tricky to car park
- juliette (9/5): Warm and pleasant - The quality of the breakfast
The host was always available when needed and very friendly
- Amanda (10/5): - Breakfast, warm room.
- Susan (9/5): Lovely B&B - A lovely location with a homely feel. Good location with a pub nearby for a reasonable evening meal.
The breakfast was very nice with good choices.
- Rosanna (5/5): - Location was great, the lady is nice It was unclean, the room was damp and moldy (water dripping from ceiling) and cold at night, some food was out of date
- Ainhoa (8/5): - Muy bien el desayuno 👌🏻
- Pixie (7/5): - The location is excellent. The room + facilities were good. The host was excellent. The parking space is a little small. The bed is not suited for someone over 6 tall.
- Josie (9/5): -
- Katharina (7/5): -
- R (5/5): Cold but comfortable bed. - Great location. Room size very reasonable with large bathroom. No heating. Alarm sounded first thing in the morning.
- rachk243 (10/5): -
- Mike (5/5): Nice hostess. Disinterested host. Passable property. - Mellisa was very nice and attentive. She was very apologetic about the roadworks underway until midnight outside the property, although this was in no way her fault. The place was cold, despite the radiators blasting it out, so I think probably an insulation issue. The bed was not very comfortable. The decor was a bit tired. Though Melissa was very attentive and really nice, her partner was pretty sullen and disinterested when approached for something at breakfast.
- Dan (10/5): Comfortably adventurous - Melissa was very welcoming and accommodating. The bed was comfy and the views from the window across the lake into the Arrochar Alps were stunning. The walk to the B&B from the train station along the hill path was dreamy and there was also a bus stop with access to and from Glasgow with West Coast Motors. Many munros are accessible on foot from the B&B within a winter's day. West Coast Motors, the bus company that took us from Arrochar to Glasgow, aren't listed on Google Maps, so check their timetable independently when journey planning
- Gerben (8/5): -
- Jack (9/5): - A proper b&b: great brekkie, great location and great price. Staff were also very welcoming and accommodating (the host even gave me a protein snickers to see me off on my way up the hill!). Highly recommend! None.
- Linda (8/5): Comfortable clean and warm - Warm welcoming and cosy
- Patrick (7/5): Had a lovely stay, very central to everything. Hosts were great and very helpful. Lots of great restaurants in the area. - Bathroom was big and well equipped. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and a lovely cooked breakfast. Bed was comfy. Hosts were fabulous, very helpful and knowledgeable with the local areas Bedroom could do with a bit of TLC
- Helen (7/5): We enjoyed our 2night stay. - Good breakfast, comfortable room, well situated, although a lot of road noise.Lovely hosts. Traffic noise. Parking a bit tricky. Outside of property could do with a tidy up.
- Jan (10/5): -
- Christine (8/5): lovely atmosphere and host - Breakfast, room The bed
- Fiona (10/5): Would recommend to everyone - Wonderfully Quirky place, incredibly warm and welcoming hosts.
Had a fantastic stay Nothing!
- Jan (8/5): -
- Timothy (7/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Hosts very nice and friendly . Clean , comfortable. I would go back - Breakfast was great . Hosts were good company and very accommodating Nothing
- Sarahleah (10/5): -
- Martine (10/5): - This was our second stay with Paul and Melissa and it was brilliant again, they're lovely people. Cannot beat the location nor the view and breakfast was fantastic too! Thank you:)

- Trevor (8/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): Character, historic accommodation in great location - Lovely friendly host. Cute room, historic building, everything we needed. Loch views, lovely scenery. Excellent breakfast Bathroom was a little tired, could do with a refresh.
- Sim Tallo (10/5): -
- Giulia (8/5): -
- Tamara (10/5): - Amazing location right on the lock with spectacular views. Maximum hospitality and amazing hearty breakfast! Highly recommended!
- George (8/5): Great little place to stop for a night on your travels through Scotland. - Really nice host, great view, the breakfast was lovely and the room was clean. Bathroom was a bit cramped but it’s not a huge deal as everything was clean, which was more important.
- Ian (9/5): - Lovely friendly hosts and a fantastic location on the lochside. Breakfast was great, room comfortable if a little quirky. Nice pubs and bistro around the Loch. Shower tepid, parking tight if you have a big car. Twin room a little awkward to get to if you are tall. All very minor things.
- John (10/5): -
- Alessandro (9/5): - Very good accommodation, wonderful breakfast!!!
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Marie Sylvie (8/5): -
- joan (3/5): Very disappointing. - The room was very small and irregular in shape so anyone over 5ft tall would have issues.
Whilst the views from the bedroom window were potentially great, the windows were dirty so difficult to see.
Holes in the ceiling/walls clumsily plastered over, then in some areas covered with odd pieces of wallpaper.
Very depressing. A really bad sleep on a small double bed.
- Elaine (10/5): Lovely - Lovely and clean great breakfast
- Doug (4/5): - The view
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): A good place to stop - Breakfast was excellent. Location is on a main road but still slept well as at night it’s quiet.Very handy for nearby pub and restaurants and wonderful view. The room was fine. Shower was only tepid and rather a weak flow A.
- Sam (6/5): Very pleasant - View excellent and all facilities spotless.
- Ian (10/5): -
- S (8/5): -
- David (4/5): Reasonable breakfast ,overall poor. - View over the loch. Overall.
- Melanie (10/5): Great value !! - The place was really nice, breakfast is delicious and generous. The hospitality is amazing- highly recommend!
- Andy (10/5): Great stay - Friendly. clean room and excalent breakfast.
- Somers (10/5): - We liked how homely it was and the woman who owned it was lovely. Very warm.
The breakfast was amazing. The shower base kept squeaking and I felt like I was going to fall through the floor at one point but apart from that everything great.
- Laura (5/5): Bra placerat men obekvämt - Utsikten var fin. Platsen är bra. Personalen var hjälpsam och trevlig. Frukost okej.
- Ron (7/5): -
- Vilte (10/5): Amazing x - Perfect location, Amazing host Melissa!
