Guest Reviews
- John (8/5): Goldeneye is a Gem. - Beautiful location, property and room clean and neat, with helpful hosts. We had no complaints.
- Rossouw (8/5): - Great venue, nice room Uncleaned bin on arrival, old milk from previous tennants in fridge
- Luke (8/5): -
- Anél (8/5): - Beautiful venue. I stayed only one night. Should have booked a week.
- Annah (9/5): -
- jules (8/5): - Beautiful setting, nice facilities and relaxed atmosphere
- marion (8/5): -
- Roxanne (6/5): Was okay, needed a place located close to work. Was quiet. Just needs better communication. - The place was literally what I needed. Close to work and the event I needed to be at. Not a stitch of communication about how to check in, where to park, no wifi code was given, everything was so dark when I returned I struggled to find my way to my room.
- Reneva (1/5): -
- Katherine (8/5): -
- Alessia (6/5): - Beautiful garden and pool, where to sip a glass of wine with an insane sunset view. The bar is all 007 themed. The room wasn’t the cleanest and comfiest, the barman was openly an antisemite.
- Chris (10/5): - Great hosts, felt right at home. The hosts run local movie and event viewing with dinner or breakfast served, which you can join. Very nice to stay at this estate. Beware that access to the property is easy through a gravel road from the Stellenbosch direction. To drive there from Somerset West/Cape Town, you have to take a bit of a detour.
- Megan (4/5): Do not recommend for asthmatics or weak immune system! - Arrived and it was incredibly difficult to find the office. The room definitely needs some addressing, with rising damp, mildew and mould. We did leave early due to the terrible small the room had of damp and mould
- Chris (10/5): - Great place to stay, i really enjoyed my time there and extended the stay. This accommodation is actually in a manor house in which the owners do regular movie screenings for the local neighborhood including drinks, dinner, and occasionally a rugby game. Lovely people, the cafe next attached is really good, too. Can only recommend, also for workationing! Seriously, nothing, i travel a lot, that is rare
- Vicky (9/5): A place to be that is good for the soul. - Beautiful place to stay with the added bonus of Tuesday to Friday good evening meal and private cinema with films showing on a big screen.
Great having a swimming pool on the doorstep. The comment was "you must be British!" when I swam in coldish water!
There is a cafe for breakfast and lunch, with good meals. It exceeds our expectations...
- Vicky (9/5): We would go back again! - Self catering! Condensation. No heating.
- Gerard (6/5): Beautiful Gardens and a nice setting, just needs a spruce up I'm afraid... - Breakfast was good and is at the coffee shop / restaurant on the property. Good coffee and good value.
The room is nicely laid out and I liked the table and chairs both inside and outside.
Overall, comfortable. The coffee pod machine has water in it that had obviously been there for ages. Murky and a tinge of green.
Tea bags had to be requested as there were only 2 or 3
Milk was then also arranged but it seemed like I was expected to bring my own tea and milk...
There is no heater or electric blanket and the beginning of August was icy! I slept very poorly because I was cold despite an extra blanket.
Overall OK but attention to cleanliness, check that all the facilities and items listed are actually present... Provide a heater or electric blanket in winter please.

Beautiful views
- Clinton (3/5): I am very disappointed with this venue & crappy service. I booked this venue for my Father form NZ! - Very little, my disappointment out shone the expctation!
NOTHING...!!! The venue is advertised to have a renovated apartment, with terrace and sea views (tick), cable flat-screen TV, a "fully equipped kitchen with oven and a microwave" (well the microwave was no working. My DAD had to move the microwave while his partner tried carefully to switcht the plug on. Hoping no spiders or raw nails bit or cut her hand), and a private bathroom with walk-in shower and a hair dryer.
THERE was no breakfast, that bythe way is advertised 4 times on the same info sheet. There is "BREAKFAST ICON", the words "FULL?IRISH, VEGATERIAN, GLUTEN-FREE" is advertised under "BREAKFAST INFO". the words, "À la carte and Full English/Irish breakfast options with pancakes, fruits and cheese are available daily at the apartment. There is a coffee shop and bar."
NO IDEA WHERE THAT IS, AS MY DAD HAS ASKED ABOUT THE BREAKFAST AT BOOK-IN ALREADY. ALSO THERE WAS NO ONE BESIDES THE CLEANING/RECEPTION/HELPER (PERSON); who said here is my number call me if you need anything as they do not stay on the property. DAD IS STILL WAITING FOR THE PERSON TO CALL BACK!
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Charlene (4/5): Beautiful but ….. - Location was ideal for our visit. Appreciated the hand-wash and other toiletries although we brought our own and didn’t use any. The gardens at the venue is beautiful The towels were awful; old and hard. Our rooms weren’t cleaned for our entire visit. The toilet seat was broken and the water drained from the shower extremely slowly. The “host” sent us on a walkabout to get the key only to find that we could have walked up the stairs and got to the same place. His comment “ Trek julle in” wasn’t appropriate either. Not very friendly unlike what we accustomed to. We alerted the lady that we needed to get ready for a wedding and that we had no power but she didn’t bother responding until long after we had left. Yet there was electricity to watch movies in their movie room. It would have been wonderful if they had shown some consideration for their guests who also paid money to stay there.
- Oskar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (8/5): Cosy stay - Beautiful private property.
- Oskar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mbuyiseli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jb (9/5): Will definitely book here again. - Clean, comfortable, everything we needed. The bed was great. Everything was clean and neat and tidy. We did not have milk for coffee.
- Desire (8/5): Very good -
- Christelle (5/5): Disappointed, but you get what you pay for. Good location. - The garden is beautiful and if it's clear there is a beautiful view of false bay. There was hardly any coffee and no milk. The WiFi password wasn't shared upon request. There was one match with which to light candles. There were ants in the shower and dead ants on the bathroom floor.
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (6/5): A mixed bag of bad and very good. - The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated, with a nice view of trees, garden and swimming pool. The mattress is excellent. There is a good large fridge, but limited cooking facilities. Peter and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The property is easier to find than the directions would imply. I found that a Google satellite view helped me to understand how to get there, and where to make a u-turn when approaching from the south. The code for the key box was provided by Booking.com message. This is not helpful to people arriving from abroad, who need WiFi for an internet connection. This particular apartment is too close to a social venue, and a diesel generator, which combined to make an unbearable noise one evening. When the weather is hot, you cannot open the doors and curtains without sacrificing privacy. There is nowhere to put a suitcase when unpacking.
- Harryonthemove (9/5): Superb -
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely friendly people and was also surprised with a movie night (theatre on the property) and a delicious meal before the movie- what a pleasant experience!!!
- Dries (8/5): Very good -
- Mbuyiseli (8/5): Very good -
- Mcintyre (6/5): We managed but won't stay again due to poor wheelchair access, despite the pleasant surroundings. - The facility was quiet, clean and pleasant. The brief interactions with the staff were always friendly and helpful. The facility was not wheelchair accessible - especially the bathroom (which is the issue for every wheelchair user). We had to make do with Ashley not using the shower, as, despite having the door removed, getting into the shower, even using our own shower bench proved to be impossible.
The mosquitos at night were also a big problem.
- Duncan (8/5): It met my requirements. I just needed a place to stay for the evening. - I just stayed for the evening. It was self-catering. There was an issue with a power failure from midnight throughout the night, but think this may have been down to cable theft, so not really in the hosts hands.
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect with a beautiful view of Table Mountain. The garden is also magnificent with a lovely pool.
- Moorcroft (7/5): nice but very hot - Threr was no aircon or roof fan.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johan (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (10/5): Very calm and pleasant and I loved the pool -
- Tamlinne (10/5): It was amazing, we will surely visit again. - The area was great, hosts were friendly and the location was breathtaking day and night. There was no braai area.
- Mark (5/5): Passable - It was really cold. With no additional bedding. Very few plug adapters available. No wifi password readily available. No instructions for the TV etc.
- Melinda (8/5): Very comfortable - The location was a bit difficult to find. I had to phone the host to redirect me to the property.
If they could put proper signage on, that would help abit.
- Sanjeev (7/5): Good -
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Zachary (9/5): Superb -
