It is in the basement, on floor -2. The apartment was very moldy, with a strong unpleasant smell because of the mold. We couldn’t enjoy the “garden” because it is below the street level, was dark, and full of mosquitoes. This meant we couldn’t sit outside to get fresh air, as the apartment itself smelled of mold. There was also a drain/sewer right under the bedroom window, which sometimes gave off a bad smell. The owner tried to mask the odor with air fresheners, but it didn’t help. There was an air conditioning unit, definitely needed a cleaning (especially the filter), so we didn’t use it at all. We only wanted to use the dehumidifier because of the mold, but it kept turning off as the water tank filled up quickly. We didn’t want to risk damaging the machine by emptying the tank ourselves. If it had been mentioned in the listing that the apartment is on a basement level, we definitely would not have booked it, especially for this price. While I understand that the mosquitoes are not the owner’s fault, the fact that the apartment is moldy makes the high price hard to justify. On the positive side, the apartment was clean overall (except for the visible mold spots). The owner also provided a mosquito-repellent plug-in.
