• Nora (10/5): Premura e disponibilità - Personale molto disponibile, colazione curata e preparata al momento con prodotti freschi. Posizione di fianco al ruscello con vista ai terrazzamenti inca. I bagni sono molto essenziali, ma puliti.

Ben niks te kort gekomen. Personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ligging is fantastisch! Het is een klein stukje lopen naar het plein. Ik zou zeker weer terug gaan. Kortom: aanrader!

The staff was so lovely, our reservation didn’t come up through booking.com but they were able to allocate us a room and sort it out quickly. The river running next door was lovely and the room was cozy and hot showers :) No toilet paper, no mountain view which is what I reserved a room for.

Das Frühstück ist das beste, das wir innerhalb von 2 Wochen Peru Reise hatten, liebevoll zubereitet vom netten Mitarbeiter, der sich um alles kümmert. Er hat sogar kostenlos unsere Wäsche gewaschen, während wir beim matchu pitchu waren. Adapter konnten wir auch ausleihen. Unser Gepäck konnten wir dort im Hotel lagern, während wir zum matchu pitchu sind. 5 min zu Fuß zu Restaurants und 15 min zum Bahnhof.

• Sevda (9/5): Wonderful stay with beautiful river and Mountain views - The property is located right next to the river, and the sound of the flowing water is incredibly relaxing. The view from the shared balcony is exceptional. I loved opening the door in the morning and looking out at the mountains. The room was small, but it was sufficient for the two of us. There was no heater initially; however, we requested one and it was promptly provided, so we had no issues with the temperature. The breakfast was quite good — it was prepared fresh every day with quality ingredients, and we really enjoyed it. The staff were extremely kind and helpful at all times. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. Since the property is located on the main road of the village, there were many tuk-tuks and motorbikes passing by at night, which made it quite noisy.

L’emplacement est très bien et tout le personnel hyper chaleureux. Les déjeuners qu’on nous servait le matin était délicieux et très généreux. La vue est à couper le souffle et on s’endort avec le bruit de la rivière. Je recommande!

They also prepared to go breakfast snacks since we had to depart/check out at 6am. . I didn't like that there was no hot water and heater. During reservation we thought the facility had both.

Tuvimos que preguntarle sobre sus limitaciones y como no preguntamos sobre la hora del desayuno, pues nos lo pasamos. La habitación no olía bien al ingresar, el agua caliente era intermitente, no tenía aislamiento acustico, y el sonido del río pasa de relajar a aturdir.

• Elliott (9/5): The location and its surroundings was more than words can describe! - The front desk attendant always had our best interest! He helped us find a private taxi to take us around, and was also the lodge's honorary chef! Each morning he made our breakfast, which was fulfilling for our big days ahead! The water system was a great in the beginning but towards the end, we just had no more water coming out of the drains, we couldn't even flush :/

Tivemos que sair antes do horário do café para ir a Machu picchu e nos deram ainda assim alimentação, além de fornecer transfer para a estação de trem. - O banheiro poderia ser um pouco melhor, e a localização para quem está com muitas malas não é recomendada, visto que fica a 15 minutos a pé da estação de trem.

Odeur d’égout le matin. L’établissement propose de nous récupérer à la gare, ils sont venus après 40’ d’attente en moto alors que nous étions 5 et nous ont demandé 10 soles par moto alors que rien n’avait été convenu. Ensuite, ils ont voulu nous faire payer 5% de commission avec la carte bancaire, ce que nous avons refusé. Il faut apprécier le bruit de la rivière qui passe juste à côté

The staff is very attentive, offering recommendations for the city, making it easy to book tours, and helping with questions about the city. The space is very comfortable, family-friendly, and peaceful. The sound of the river next door is calming, and the breakfast is worth the price of the room. There's the option to leave your luggage for a quick trip to Machu Picchu. I would definitely return and recommend it to everyone!

• Jonathan (8/5): Schöne Unterkunft in der Natur - Die Aussicht vom Hotel war spitze. Es war sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal (ein junger Mann) war hilfsbereit und bemüht. Er war aber sehr schüchtern, sodass viele Informationen an uns nicht übermittelt werden konnten. Es liegt etwas außerhalb. Wenn man eine Unterkunft im Ort sucht ist man hier falsch. Die Straßenlaterne hing direkt vor unserem Fenster und es war die komplette Nacht hell und laut von Straße und Fluss.

Casi perdemos el tren que tenìamos reservado. El personal nos llegó a tocar la puerta en la madrugada y nos despertaron, luego dijeron que disculparamos la equivocación. Finalmente, un día estuvimos sin fluído electrico por un par de horas.

• Ingrid (4/5): A nice property but a disappointing experience - My room was nice and clean, with a good amount of storage space. The area is quiet, while still being only a short walk away from the city center (2-3 minutes). The river view is very beautiful and relaxing setting, and can be enjoyed from the balcony / lounging area. Maybe I was just unlucky but my check-in experience was quite poor : - Charged me the booking.com commission / Peruvian citizen VAT, despite me showing the amount on my reservation (which had no such fee) - Maybe this was a misundertanding on my end, but there was no manager on site to discuss this with (attempted over the phone, which is not ideal especially if spanish isn't your native language) - Charged a 5% fee for any card payment (despite it being listed as a payment method option on the booking) - The reservation stated payment would be in USD, but at check-in I was told only soles were accepted. The USD amount was converted to soles at a rate of 3.8, by far the highest I saw used anywhere (usually ~3.5-3.6). When I asked about it I wasn't given any explanation either. The property was very nice and I think could have been worth a higher price than listed on booking.com, had it been upfront. But the commission + card fee + exchange rate left a bad taste in my mouth. Also not sure how breakfast worked, but there was no food or staff in the common area the two days I showed up during the breakfast window.

• Samantha (10/5): Vistas hermosas y atención excepcional - Nuestra estadía fue excelente! Desde el primer momento, el joven fue súper atento, incluso nos preparó loncheras para desayunar en Aguas Calientes, ya que el tren salía a las 4 am de Ollantaytambo, y nos ayudó a contratar el transporte a la estación. También nos ayudó con los mosquitos que aparecieron la primera noche, siempre amable y sonriente. El lugar es precioso, con vista al río, las montañas y al Centro Arqueológico, y a solo unos 8 minutos caminando de la plaza. Todo muy limpio y la cama comodísima. Es un sitio tranquilo, perfecto para descansar. Solo tener en cuenta que el agua llega por horas, pero parece ser algo común en Cusco. Nos quedamos con ganas de quedarnos más tiempo!!

• Heike (9/5): - The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They accommodated a last minute change of date and gave us a bagged breakfast when we left early for Machu Picchu. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, fried egg and bread with butter and jam. Sara Garden Lodge is right next to the river. Great view of the mountain. There was no warm water when we wanted to take a shower. Don't know if the staff might have been able to fix it as we didn't bring it up to them.

The staff were incredibly helpful and the breakfast that was prepared at Sara Garden Lodge was the best that we had during our entire trip Our stay there was too short, would have loved to been able to stay longer

Good breakfast was provided. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. They were able to arrange a ride to the train station to accommodate our luggage. Would recommend.

• Angie (4/5): No fue lo que esperábamos - La atención de las chicas, muy serviciales Nosotros reservamos la habitación económica, se entiende que si uno reserva este tipo de habitación no va tener quizá la mejor ubicación. Sin embargo esta habitación queda en una parte del lugar en obra gris, sin luz en el pasillo y al lado un hueco a la calle que aún no tiene pared, la verdad no fue agradable ya que si las personas fumaban de ese lado, se metía todo el olor, y se escuchaba los carros pasar por lo expuesta la habitación a la calle. Cómo sugerencia, sería bueno que le comenten a los huéspedes de la ubicación de esta habitación, se entiende que es la más sencilla, pero realmente no es para nada cómoda y no se muestra en las fotos.

• Konstantinos (9/5): Excellent option in Ollantaytambo - The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood of Ollantaytambo, next to a beautiful river. Its about 5 minutes walking from central square. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We communicated with the staff multiple times for information and various services, and they were always responsive. Breakfast included in the price and it was very tasty. Overall, we totally recommend this hotel — it’s a great value for money option. Since we visited Ollantaytambo in winter, it was quite cold, but the staff provided us with a small heater, which worked well for the situation.

• Elisabeth (7/5): Street noise is SO LOUD. Avoid rooms with windows to street - The breakfast was wonderful. The beds are comfortable with sufficient blankets. Also, we loved the river sounds. It is loud, but we like that. The hosts responded quickly via message to all of our inquiries before and during our stay. The garden is very small, but pretty, and the view from the balcony is lovely. We were looking for quiet. That is why we chose this lodge hoping the river sounds would drown out the street noise. Do NOT book the economy 4 bed room if you want some quiet. It was the only one available when I reserved our room. It has no window to the river, only a window to the street. It was SO LOUD at all hours of the night. Street noise is expected in Peru, but this was like nothing I have ever experienced. What I wish I had known before staying in Ollantaytambo is that almost anywhere that is in the old Inca part of town is walking paths only. There are so many places you can stay to avoid the street noise at a similar or even cheaper price point that had much nicer accommodation.
• Jeannette (9/5): Wonderful - The staff were great and accommodating despite a bit of a language barrier. We were able to get a packed breakfast one day. The regular breakfast window is only two hours and it is a set breakfast (not buffet) so it does take some time. But the breakfast was great with eggs! Portable heater and hair dryer are available upon request but we found we didnt require the heater...just bring warm pajamas! The rooms were a good size and clean. There are dogs barking nearby but road noise and noise from the river did not bother us. It is about a 7 min walk from the centre. You can take a tuk tuk/mototaxi too as they are everywhere.
• Adrián (10/5): Exceptional - The mountain view, the sound of the river in the room... It was amazing; furthermore, he atmosphere is charming, I'd definetly repeat. To sum up, breakfast is tasty, room is comfortable and Jessica is an adorable employee. Just you have to pay +5% by card.

• Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Very cute hotel with nice staff and great location right on the river with a small view of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Great price!
• Christopher (9/5): Nice location on the river - I loved the sound of the rushing river next to the hotel. Some guests complained about the "noise" but it was a welcome sound for me and during the dry season the river is very low and quiet. Comfortable room with a view of the ruins and mountains. Friendly staff. The breakfast needs improvement! Some fresh fruit would be nice and NOT instant coffee.
