Guest Reviews
- Emma (8/5): - Good location with a lovely beach chill area and good kitchen for cooking and food prep. Very friendly staff and people, lots of nights out and activities planned. Very strong smell from the outside toilets.
- Melody (9/5): Good stay and lovely staff - Really good location and was very chill and comfy :) Very small rooms and ac was turned off all day (i don’t blame them though because of the expenses)
- gatien (10/5): -
- Dana (8/5): - Location
- Nico (10/5): Would highly recommend this hostel, if I ever am back in Siquijor I will be there. - Great location, friendly staff, clean, can cook for yourself.
- Helena (7/5): Good value - The hostel is on the beachfront and the staff are really friendly. For the price, I have no complaints. I was in a 4 bed dorm and it felt like a tight squeeze but that’s to be expected with a hostel.
- Geralyn (7/5): - The location was awesome, the rest needs upgrading. But you get what you pay for.
- Maryjane (9/5): -
- Gemar (10/5): - Had a great stay here! The accommodation was clean, comfortable and exactly as described. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and everything was well taken care of.
The staff/host was super friendly and helpful, always making sure everything was okay. The location was also perfect, with easy access to everything we needed.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice and stress-free place to stay! 👍
- Dorota (8/5): -

- Michele (9/5): Great beachfront - The beach front was really nice and relaxing spot. The staff is super nice and helpful, and the location is great in my opinion. Sometimes the cleaning of the toilets happened in the middle of the day I’d say between 8,30 and 10,30 and it would take also long
Also there’s often a bad sewage smell near the outdoor bathrooms
- Arjay (10/5): Super affrodable and very nice cozy places in evening . And a friendly staff - Very nice and cozy when evening, i enjoyed staying Lack of cr
- Mieke (9/5): -
- Léanaa (10/5): Je recommande - Emplacement au top, magnifique espace extérieur. Chambre agreable avec rideaux
- Dumitru-Marius (10/5): - Being so close to the sea...its just amazing to chill all day on hammocks 2 meters away from the ocean. No mosquito nets, even tough it wasn't a problem for me
- Salvinia (10/5): a secret house by the beach - That it is by the beach. Plenty of hammocks and chairs to lounge around while listening to the sea waves.
- Giuseppe (10/5): Great hostel, great location, great wifi - Beautiful hostel in a great location. It’s very quiet, and the common areas both inside and outside make it really easy to meet other travelers. The private beach is absolutely amazing.
On top of that, the Starlink connection and solar panels make it a great choice for anyone who needs to work remotely, like me. I spent two weeks there, and the hostel still had electricity even during a two-day blackout across the whole area.
- Natalie (10/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): - Nice clean property on the beach, beautiful views. Google maps links to sites and recommended restaurants make things super easy. Even the neighbours pregnant cat prefers it here and is just delivering her babies as I left.
- Anna (10/5): - The service (!), the kitchen, the sitting outside No hot water to shower

- Shahaf (2/5): - Only its location is good and it has access to the beach. There is only 1 shower for 15 people in the hostel, which means you have to wait a long time. The water in the shower is cold and the flow is not strong. They don't give you a towel, only money. The sockets in the rooms don't always work.
- Alicia (8/5): -
- Sousa (7/5): - Ar condicionado demasiado frio.
- Adrieli (10/5): -
- Patric (10/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): -
- Antoine (9/5): -
- Fernández (10/5): - Staff snacks sea kitchen all
- Obra (10/5): Core memories - the community, I was able to meet amazing people during my stay there None
- Erickson (10/5): - I’ve stayed here for 3 nights and it seriously feels like home! Ruth and Prissie are absolute legends, super accommodating, and they even hooked me up with some awesome spots to visit since I came with zero plans. The kitchen view? Perfect. The vibe? So chill for relaxing. The sunsets? Unreal you just gotta see it for yourself! And the location makes it even better it’s the place to be, with bars and restaurants just nearby.
- Leilamar (10/5): i had the great experience in my stay that’s why i extended it and book for next couple of days - i love the huge common space (living room, kitchen and dining) plus points the beach in the back!! none
- Delaney (9/5): - Pressa was a great staff member who always went out of her way to make people comfortable and was very patient and helpful!
The hostel itself was great, has a gorgeous view and the free pastries and coffee in the morning was a winner.
- Himalee (10/5): -
- Annabelle (8/5): It was good! - although there was a little "problem" but the staff abled to find ways. And we are happy! We love the place and the accommodation specially the kitchen and seaside view.
- Hannah (8/5): Beautiful spot, could’ve happily spent much longer here! - Essentially a private garden, nice kitchen and communal space, merienda provided for breakfast. Helpful staff. Great views. Rooms hot during the day
- Haylee (3/5): Poor -
- Daniela (10/5): Exceptional - # Translation to English:
My stay at Bluehouse Hostel in Siquijor was fantastic. It's a true social hub where I connected with fellow travelers in the well-designed common spaces.
The daily activities were excellent - from island tours to fun evening gatherings. Cleanliness was top-notch, with staff keeping everything spotless.
The comfortable beds guaranteed great sleep after long days exploring. Their solar power system was impressive, providing reliable electricity despite island outages.
The Starlink internet was surprisingly fast for such a remote location.
Bluehouse perfectly balances comfort, social atmosphere, and quality amenities. Definitely recommend! all perfect
- Anya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amos (8/5): Fantastic, social hostel with cold rooms - Comfortable spaces, especially the back garden which sits right on the water. Great sunsets from there. Very well equipped kitchen, great staff, and all kinds of amenities (free tea and coffee, simple breakfast, scooter rental, planned events, etc.). There are a range of food options within walking distance, from fancy to greasy to cheap local stuff (shout out to Roadhouse Restaurant). When I was there everyone was extremely nice and friendly. It was a very social hostel. The rooms all have A/C that runs all night. I know some like it, but I found it freezing cold and the provided blankets were not nearly enough. I slept in my sleeping bag my whole stay and others complained that they couldn't sleep at all. All the beds are also equipped with fans, so to me the A/C was totally unnecessary. I strongly recommend that they keep one room without A/C for those who don't like it. Until then, I don't recommend this place to people who are sensitive to cold. The beds are also made of bamboo, which means they creak quite loudly whenever someone on a top bunk moves around.
- Mette (7/5): Good - The hostel is good value and has nice outdoor space for relaxing at the waterfront.
Was fine for one night Rooms are very small with no space to put backpack so you had to jump over people’s stuff to get to your bed.
The top bunk is very hard to get up to and the bunks generally didn’t seem super stable.
The bathroom was not super clean.
- Leila (8/5): Very good - Really nice house with a beautiful sea front. Location is great as its close to restaurants and staff are very helpful. Also they have some social activities to meet people The bed pillows are not comfy. I hope they will be replaced. They are so thin so it can be hard to sleep.
During my stay, all their scooters were rent out.
- Zakaria (9/5): Superb -
- Fahmida (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (7/5): Good - Has a very cute beach front where you can chill, and a proper kitchen Since its located on the beach, there is sand everywhere
- Estelle (6/5): Pleasant - It’s a lovely location, great sunsets. The beds are made from bamboo, if you are ok the bottom bunk and the person above moves the beds make a lot of noise woke me up a few times.
The bathroom was okay, the toilet flush kept breaking so you would often find a horrific surprise in the toilet which was very unpleasant.
- Leila (9/5): Superb -
- Mariel (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (8/5): Very nice 🫶🏼 ,very cool 👌🏻Good Job 👍 ☺️☺️☺️ - The scenery is peaceful, the place is convenient for us, the staffs are nice, accommodating and approachable. 1. There is no indoor sleepers, the bed stairs of the bunk beds were too steep.
- Barbora (10/5): Exceptional - Great location with a cute little beach. You get everything you need and the house makes you feel like at home.
- Kaya (8/5): Very good - I love the seafront and the use of the kitchen. friendly staffs. great location total 2 rooms (both 8 people dorm) share only 3 bathrooms, 2 are outside. Bathrooms are almost always occupied and floors are almost always sandy... I understand because it's right on the beach. The bunk beds are made of bamboo so it's very loud and shakey whenever there's a little movement.
- Melanie (7/5): Good -
- Arnaud (10/5): Amazing !!! - I had one of my best stay in the Philippines at Blue House.
Thomas and Arthur were really helpful with all the recommendations.
The hostel got the best location, walking distance to restaurants, small shops and nightlife.
Rooms are cleans, bed very comfortable.
Really liked the decoration inside and the beach front with all hammocks, hanging chairs and beach chairs, perfect spot for sunset. They also rent scooters which is very convenient.
I hardly recommend this place.
I can't wait to go back 🙃
- Weronika (9/5): Superb - Amazing place with even more amazing owners and staff. Perfect for remote work, as there is Starlink and generator for power blackouts. I was supposed to stay there for 10 nights but extended. The most amazing sunsets on Siquijor
- Juliette (10/5): Really nice stay, Arthur and Thomas were really nice hosts and gave us lots of recommendations! - It is well located, the kitchen is well equipped and you can buy fruits in front of the house and do your own smoothies. You have direct access to the beach and a nice area to chill with hammocks and sunbeds. There was only one bathroom with a toilet and shower inside, the rest was outside.
- Irene (10/5): The perfect stay - This backpacker was a blast. The atmosphere is super relaxed and easy to meet people. The facilities are always clean and the beds are pretty comfortable. The staff is super nice and always willing to help you out, from recommendations of things to do to tips for getting around the area. The location is perfect, with direct access to the beach, close to everything but without noise. If you're looking for a comfortable place, with a good vibe and at a good price, this is the place. I would definitely go back!
- Sabrina (7/5): Good - Location, kitchen Noisy beds, 4 bed- dorm really small and smelly!!, 8 bed dorm better;
bathrooms at noon always very dirty! Need a cleaning during the day!!
3 toilets/showers - but only 1 with handsoap
AC from 9pm (!!!) - way too late
Towel costs extra
Not social at all...
- Alessandra (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome place, awesome vibe... very very cool! Beds a little noisy when having to move from the top bed
- Rachel (10/5): Great hostel & good location - I had a great stay at blue house. The location is really good: in central San Juan & I could walk to lots of restaurants & all the bars. It has a private bit of beachfront with swing seats where you can chill & it looked so pretty at night with the lights. The showers were good, everything was very clean & there's a kitchen you can use & free coffee. The French owners were super nice & helpful. They also had a generator & starlink so we always had power & internet during the island power outages. Cant recommend this hostel enough. Would definitely stay here again.
- Mickael (10/5): Exceptional - Definitely the best place I’ve been in the Philippines. I loved the vibes there, met some amazing people, I had to extend my stay ! I loved the location, kindness of the staff with all the good recommendations, the set up of the room with comfortable matress, the kitchen, the strong WIFI, and of course the amazing ocean view !!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Such a nice place, love the place, love the staff who is super friendly. I extended my stay here as i loved it.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pleasant - Good location near to bars and restaurants and right on the beach. Free coffee in the morning and the bathrooms were good standard. During our first night there was a power outage which meant the AC and fans went off - we were so hot for a long time in the night. Beds weren’t particularly comfortable and there was no privacy on the top bunks. No plugs by the bed and the lights were temperamental. The hostel controls the AC temp and hours.
- Micah (10/5): Amazing stay! - Stayed for almost 2 weeks here and had a great stay. Internet connection was fast and good, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. They helped me a lot with the itinerary and it was just a great place to relax in after a day of exploring. Common area was the perfect spot to unwind and socialize, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everybody felt at home. :)
- Léo (10/5): Lovely - I really enjoyed the vibe of this hostel. The location is really peaceful and gorgeous. The 2 French owners are always available to help you, they give very good advices for visiting the island. I strongly recommend you to come here, when I come again I will for sure visit this place again. I've love everything in there
- Laarni (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay in Siquijor! The vibe is very homey and the staff are super nice and always willing to help. Great Wi-Fi connection. There was a power outage during my stay but they have back up generator so you can still charge your devices and use the internet.
Facilities are great too. Rooms are always clean and you have a spacious kitchen where you can cook. The best thing about the hostel is their location. It’s close to everything you need (restaurants, bars, stores, etc). Not to mention that they are also beachfront where you can relax and watch the sunset after a whole day full of activities. I’ll definitely book again when I go back in Siquijor!
- Leigh (10/5): Heaven in paradise - This place ticks all the boxes of this seasoned traveler and so much more. The beds are super comfy, the AC is set just right. There's a fully functional kitchen to use. The garden is beach front with hammocks and swing chairs , perfect for amazing sunsets. The team here in the hostel are super helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They will help you book whatever you need, they really make you feel at home. For me an awesome experience never to be forgotten, can't recommend it enough. Absolutely a paradise within paradise. Not relevant
- Rosa (10/5): Gem Hostel is Siquijor - Great hostel by the beach. Should have booked since my day 1 in the island. Love every detail of the place 'coz you know that the comfort of guests were taken into consideration; from the quiet AC, comfortable bed, and the fan per bed. They have a generator too to cope with the island's intermittent power outages.
Good wi-fi and the set-up for working remotely is really ideal and I got to meet a lot of fellow working travelers. Easy to get around from the area too as it is close to restos, cafes, and bars. The staff are such great hosts, not just there to attend to our needs, but they gave good recommendations as to where to go for food and places to explore!!!
- Enya (10/5): Exceptional - Blue House Backpackers has been one of the best hostels I have been to! As soon as you enter, you feel like you are part of a new family. The beds are comfortable, there is AC, a kitchen you can use that is well equipped, several bathrooms and a nice garden to relax. When we came we immediately made friends with one person there that was working as the manager, Steven. He helped us a lot and showed us different places on the island. Siquijor is a really nice island that offers everything, waterfall, divers marine (we saw turtles while snorkeling with Steve!), jungle, party & so much more. I would definitely recommend this hostel as a really easy way to get in contacts with locals and to feel at home -
- Earl (10/5): I super super enjoyed my stay here. Feels like home and I wish I could stay longer. Will surely stay here again when I g - It is so homey The bed bunk is kind of noisy especially if you’re on the bottom part of the double deck and somebody’s going up to their bed. Maybe because the bed is made of Bamboo. Nevertheless, it’s still an amazing accommodation.
- Samuel (8/5): Very good -
- Coffeebox (9/5): Very comfortable and nice. - Beach front and good staff with kind owner. Upper bunk bed too high.
- Jade (10/5): Fantastic - Newly opened guesthouse. We had a great stay, located right on the beach, great location to all restaurants and bars - walking distance. The place was super clean, and the beds were comfy. The hosts were really welcoming, helped us with our bags, helped us get money changed for the tuk tuk driver, super friendly and even recommended some spots to check out on the island. Good kitchen facilities to cook or make coffee, comfortable communal areas. Would definitely recommend staying here.
- Travis (10/5): Lush & spacious seaside retreat that feels like home - Lush & spacious seaside retreat that feels like home. It's a converted house with a huge kitchen with all the utensils & appliances you need. The garden by the sea is better than most resorts. The owner & staff are the friendliest people you'll meet on the island. They have COLD aircon in the rooms at night, the beds are comfy, internet is fast, and there is a generator in case the island loses power. Success It was perfect. Changing my trip plans so I can stay & enjoy this paradise for more time.
- Pope (10/5): New Diamond hostel on the island - The hostel is right off the beach on the main bar strip of the island. Amazing staff and residents, most people are between the age of 25-35 which makes for a very relaxing stay. This is also one of the only hostels on the island with a full kitchen - even has a free coffee and espresso maker! Nothing comes to mind major - it's a new hostel so they are improving every day. The main living room is a little empty, but I've been told they plan to install a pool table. Sometimes the power goes out, but that effects the entire island.
