Guest Reviews
- Xing-Han (9/5): Staying in a historic BnB that felt like a living museum, with a warm and friendly host - It was my very first time booking a bnb myself in a trip. The host was super friendly and helped me a lot. The morning walk along the river was amazing. The BnB itself is a historic building, and the host has beautifully preserved many original artifacts. It really feels like staying in a living museum. As a trans woman, I felt a quiet but genuine sense of kindness. I would say the host is very gender-inclusive. The puzzle in the living room gave me a nice escape when I needed a break from my mum. lol Considering the relatively simple facilities, the price is on the higher side. There was also a slight musty smell downstairs, but it’s a very old building, so I’m not sure how much can be done about it.

- Lisa (10/5): - Everything was beautiful wonderful experience Nothing everything was perfect
- Nico (10/5): Wow, einfach nur Wunderschön! - Was für eine schöne und alte Unterkunft.
Sehr liebevolle Gastgeberin.
Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an, wie zu Hause gefühlt.

- John (10/5): Comfortable and spacious room - very stylish - Beautifully restored and decorated. Large comfortable room and bathroom. Handy location and warm welcome. Made to feel at home. Nothing!
- Claudia (10/5): - Rundum alles - sehr liebevoll eingerichtet

- Matthew (10/5): Perfect - Best place I have ever stayed…

- Chloe (10/5): Amazing place, don’t have a bad word to say about it. - We were welcomed by the owner who was lovely and made us feel right at home. The place itself was super clean, in a great location and I wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Janet (9/5): Relaxing, personal accommodation with history and close to sights in New Norfolk. Bush Inn was walking distance and grea - Colonial accommodation with a beautiful renovations which respect the past but have give a modern feel The outlook to the Derwent River and freedom to relax
- Guy (10/5): -
- Kate (8/5): A quiet riverside stay - The Woodbridge Waterfront is an oasis of peace and greenery by the river in beautifully appointed rooms in a restored historical gem of a building. There is a mini bar but no meals or food. There is a fully appointed guest kitchen if you bring your own food.
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): Refined accommodation with spectacular views of the Derwent River - Stunning location set on the Derwent River. Incredible ambiance with beautiful gardens with interesting historical bits and bobs throughout the property. Spacious rooms with well thought out requirements for the guest. Laurelle is the perfect host ensuring you are well acquainted with the property layout and tips for local eateries. Very hard to find faults the only tip would be a mat for inside the shower base as it was over the bath
- Jacob (10/5): - Beautiful views, the space had lots of character and was a cozy stay.
- Anita (10/5): Beautiful heritage location. Large comfortable room. - Beautiful heritage room. Comfortable and spacious. Great view! Close to pub which was great for dinner. Great walking track nearby. Nil
- Jackie (9/5): - Laurelle was very friendly and personable. The building was amazing, right on the river. Guest sitting room very comfortable and great facilities in the guest kitchen and dining area. Room clean and comfy and quiet. Will definitely stay there again. Nothing

- Mel (10/5): Luxury stay at New Norfolk - Lovely historical property that has very comfy bed, fabulous views of river and luxury spa. Welcomed to the property like family, highly recommend a stay here - great base for our walks in Mt Field
- Alan (9/5): Delightful - Loved the history
Was clean and well presented Couldn’t fill the kettle up from the bathroom sink 🤣
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frances (10/5): Absolute co - Loved the location , the interior design of the building. Also the sitting rooms .
Particularly enjoyed the staff member welcoming us and telling us a little
Of the history of the house .
Exquisite taste in all the rooms . Modern but a with reverence to the age of the building . Very elegant ! Difficult to fault anything but perhaps the bath was unnecessary even though great attention to safety has been thought of . Would prefer a shower just for safety reasons .
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Amber (9/5): Fruit and sweets were available in lounge room. - Welcome was amazing, learnt a little about the history of the property.
- Steve (10/5): wonderful - It was lovely we had a great stay and will return
- Tim (4/5): Overpriced and disappointing heritage hotel - The location is great with beautiful views over the Derwent River. The hotel has a lot of history with many original features, and was probably once to a 5-star standard. It should be noted there is no breakfasts or dinners available at this accomodation. It is just the room you are paying for, and the standard is 3-star at best. The owner is lovely and very helpful, and she told us at checkout she agreed that about the star rating being too high, however strangely they keep the cost to stay here at a 5-star level.
We had one of the terrace rooms which has a lovely view, however there was no way to get fresh air in when the weather was hot without opening the door and letting the flies and mosquitos in. The bedding and furniture was also of a standard you'd expect to find in an AirBnB, not a 5-star room.
In the bathroom the shower tiles were uneven meaning it gave you sore feet, and the clear window from it looks directly onto the terrace giving anyone walking past a view of your top half whilst showering. There was also no toilet brush and the only air spray was cheap "Glade". Behind one of the bedside tables we also found a dirty tissue, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned very well.
As the terrace is communal if you want privacy in your room the only way was to shut the solid wood blinds. Just some simple shutters or sheer blinds that give privacy but still natural light would be a simple fix. Overall very disappointing for the price.
- Liz (10/5): Unique character property in a fabulous location - Unique character property with heaps of history and very comfortable rooms. Laurelle, host and owner, was exceptional in her warm welcome, great communication and generous advice on what to see and do in the area.
