Guest Reviews
- Andrew (1/5): Won’t be going back - Nothing Dirty stunk buckets and mops lying about in corridors No towels in the room loose taps
- Amanda (3/5): - Location was good No towel to shower.
Room was too hot and cold barely open windows.
Cigarette ash all over window cills
- Samantha (1/5): Disappointed - Nothing other than the location There was no central heating. The room was cold there was 1 cloth for 2 people and that was dirty. The room walls are paper thin and unfortunately there were a couple staying in the next room to us arguin untill 3am shouting banging swearing with no one around to tell them to quite down. There is no room key you take a picture of a code for the door that seems like it never changes which is not very safe. I had a stay here a few years ago and it was nothing like how it was now extremely disappointing
- Connor (1/5): Shocking DO NOT BOOK - Nothing. Wasn’t even open and still haven’t been refunded my money 2 weeks later Door was glued shut. Nobody there. Didn’t even end up getting in absolute shambles
- Wells (6/5): - Staff were nice and the bar staff The rooms weren't very nice or comfortable
- Derek (1/5): A disgusting place to stay. - The whole place was dirty smelly and disgusting! There was nothing I liked! The first room had a leak in the bathroom…the second room had no towels and was very dirty and smelly.
- Ryan (2/5): -
- corey (1/5): -
- Danielle (1/5): Couldn’t wait to leave - Nothing it was very unclean No towels, dirty room, very loud
- Danielle (7/5): Would stay again - Size of the room The blinds were broken
- Ajani (1/5): -
- kathryn (5/5): -
- Catrina (4/5): So disappointed. It could have been better. - It had a sea view.
It had a heater.
It had beds.
It had a tv. The sea view was blocked by broken roller blinds that didn't open.
The blinds had big tears in them.
The blinds didnt have pull cords anymore.
The balcony door didnt open.
The room had seen better days.
The carpet was loose.
The skirting boards were bulging with damp.
The light fittings were hanging off the ceiling.
The walls were dirty.
There was no staff.
The key to the room was a touch pad code, which no-one showed us how to use. If you enter the code wrong it locks you out.
There was vomit outside the hotel on entry.
- Joe (1/5): Disgusting - Nothing absolutely disgusting Everything filthy druggys staying there
- Chatterton (1/5): I would not stay again and will actively tell people to avoid. - The closeness to the main Blackpool attractions Scruffy hotel, smell of drugs (possibly the staff smoking it, as it was still evident in the reception area the following morning), single stained dirty towel in the room, not enough towels, no loo roll, no working TV control, pillows were pointless, they were really flat with no comfort, only one cup for tea or coffee, poor security procedures for room code. General dirty feel, loose carpets on the stairs, noisy guests during the night.
- Tyne (1/5): - big the door would not lock we felt unsafe and there was no heating no spoons to make tea and very unclean no towels
- Pollard (10/5): -
- Ben (1/5): Not worth the money. Definitely won’t be staying again - The bar looked decent but we didn’t actually use it. Not as described, certainly far from luxury. The bed was falling apart, radiators not fixed to the walls properly, bathroom smelt damp, rips to the blind, half used toiletries no towels and no working Tv. Definitely wasn’t worth the £80 paid. Also having to pay £14 for parking which isn’t stated at the time of booking is somewhat excessive, especially considering it’s just a parking bay at the back of the hotel and isn’t a secure car park.
- Georgina (10/5): Amazing 1 again back in January 😊 - Amazing spa bath
- Emma (1/5): - Review of Residency Luxury Hotel (Check-in via Sapphire Hotel)
I think they might have misspelled “hostel” because this is definitely not a luxury hotel.
We received an email with instructions to check in through their sister property, the Sapphire Hotel no problem there. But when we walked in, the music was blaring at 2 p.m. even though there were only a couple of people scattered around the bar. It made no sense and wasn’t a great first impression.
At reception, we were given our room numbers and told to take a photo of a card with our door code on it. The cards looked very worn, which suggests that the codes are rarely changed a bit concerning, since past guests could still have access if they’d taken pictures too.
There were two bookings in my party. A staff member showed us to my friend’s room on the ground floor, then simply told me my room was on the first floor and left me to find it myself not a huge deal, but not great service either.
While the rooms have been decorated to look aesthetic, the overall finish isn’t good. It feels like a building site where the last step the deep clean still hasn’t happened. The fridge is right next to the bed and makes constant noise. No towels were provided (perhaps my oversight for not asking, but I’ve never had to ask in any other hotel). And maybe I’m being picky, but if you’re going to call yourself luxury, the hangers should at least match.
That said, with a proper clean and a thorough snag list, this place could have potential to be a decent hotel in the future.
- Kerry (7/5): -
- Kevin (1/5): Didn’t stay was turned away cuz double booked 😡and still ain’t had my money bk - Nothing I paid £90 and then got a call 10 mins be for booking in to say the room was already occupied 😡, I travelled 3 hours with my son to end up travelling bk home , disgusting
- Ronnie (1/5): - Nothing ab
- Jordan (10/5): -
- Leonie (5/5): Ok - Location Incredibly dirty
- Stephen (4/5): Not nearly as good a hotel as I was hoping for. - The hot tub. The cleanliness, the noise through the night, being rudely awaken at really early hours by heavy foot steps from the floor above and the fact I couldn’t get decent quality food at this hotel. It did not quite feel like I was on holiday.
- William (2/5): - Rooms clean and comfortable Asked staff for change of rooms as neighbors were young and very noisy and was taking drugs in there room got told they are booked up but he will have a word with them but he didn’t rang owners on number they give you in case of emergency and never answered so had to put up with doors banging and the smell of drugs all night
- Martin (3/5): Could of been better - Location great
Staff nice No remote
No cups
Loose fixtures and fittings
Shower not work
Couldn’t use TV
Dirty fridge
Got bit by bugs
- Georgina (9/5): Wonderful - Clean comfort fresh towels easy check in out clean room polite staff lovely already booked king sweet carnt wate Stairs
- Nicole (3/5): Nothing luxury about it. - The location was good Hotel isn’t very luxury at all, we stayed in the suite with the jacuzzi bath. The room wasn’t very clean, the jacuzzi bath didn’t turn off properly so was constantly running water. There is doors out to a balcony… seats are all brown and cushions were very dirty. There was stains on the sofas also. A good clean and some repairs and it might be a little better. We only stayed 1 night if it was going to be longer we would have moved.
- Dale (5/5): -
- Samantha (5/5): Great location and some where to lay your head. - Great location Lick of paint wouldn't go a miss and was overlooking a car park but get what you pay for i suppose for 40 quid a night.
- Jason (1/5): Was a dive people taking photos behind us of room keys rooms where searched when we left to go out rooms where a mess an - Nothing as I thought we had a 5 star bargain but thing 5star about it maybe minus 5 Nothing but location
- Jon (1/5): -
- Charity (1/5): I went and meet a reception and the staff was not friendly. The place was not good. - That is not a Hotel, that place is so dirty The environment is so dirty
- Mitchell (1/5): Awful to say the least nothing I liked anything about this - Nothing at all horrible place was filthy Wall were all black mould on the roof it was a mess room looked like it wasn’t cleaned
- Lew (1/5): - Absolutely disgraced. I booked to stay on New Year’s Eve. £225 for 1 night. 2 adults 2kids. Upon check we were told the hotel and room we booked were already occupied. The couple checking in in front of us were also told the same.
We were offered 2 options. A refund through booking.com or an alternative room.
I looked at the alternative room and decided it was unsuitable and small for 2 adults and 2 kids. So I choose the refund. The hotel worker was happy to do so.
After claiming for a refund through booking.com and booking.com waiting for a hotel response
I got no response at all from the hotel resulting in no refund at all.
Avoid like the plague as they obviously over booked on purpose to get people to stay in the less expensive rooms for the same price.
- Andrea (1/5): - nothing it was filthy i have tryed to contact regarding this matter they didnt even put us in residency luxury hotel ,thats what we payed for they put us in sapphire next door wires hanging from ceiling the bedding was stained the blinds were hanging off there is a lot more a lot of people left and complained they blamed booking.com would of left bit couldnt afford to change hotel i will never book a holiday with you again should be shut doe
wn shocking everything and there was drug users staying there i think we sjould get some sort parcil refund
- Lauren (1/5): Terrible - Nothing The bed was dirty had marks all over it. The bathroom door handle fell off so we couldn’t use the bathroom as we couldn’t gain access went to shower and came out finding no towels in the room. I know this place was cheap but not having a towel?
- Sharafat (1/5): I would not recommend to anyone at all. - Location of Property is good with sea views. The whole place has no luxury at all. From entrance to allocated room it was dirty and unclean. The room itself was awful with no duvet, towels and electrical fitting hanging loose.
- Michael (1/5): Dreadful hotel and service - Nothing. It was a very poor Experience so much so we left ten minutes after arriving and checked into a different hotel. On arrival the reception was dirty. The employee working was at the bar area cleaning and was in dirty clothes. They did not know anything about the booking. He had to call the manager who sent him a PIN code to unlock the room. This is very unprofessional and means that employees have the access to the room at all times during your stay and the PIN code was sent by a txt msgs from one employee to the other. I was then given a bit of paper with the code on to keep with me.
When we entered the room the bed sheets were dirty. The pillows were dirty. The bathroom had no towels in.
I went to ask for towels and was told they are all being washed and had to wait 10 minutes.
It was at this point we decided to leave and find somewhere else.
I have tried to get in touch for a refund from the property and we have had no response. I have got I touch with booking.com about this three times and they have not had any response from the hotel. To me this speaks volume and I am very disappointed with the service from the hotel and booking.com
- Billiejo (4/5): -
- Kara (1/5): - Location Room not as described. Broken bed frames and saggy mattresses. Sofa bed also broken. Dirty nappy on the window sill. Shower held up with zip ties. Lack of mirrors. No kettle provided. Fridge in room but did not work. Keyless locks on doors worked but were cellotaped together.
Sisters hotels for check in had unwelcoming staff. Questionable security overall as key codes given out do not seem to get changed for each guest.
- Jay (10/5): -
- Callum (1/5): -
- tyne (8/5): -
- Leroy (1/5): Not worth it at all - The staff were helpful enough There was loud banging all night above us and sounded like it had about 10 people squashed into the same room all banging shouting until 3 o’clock in the morning the couches had staples coming out of them that could have easily injured my child the spa tv had no remote and did not work
- Tyne (1/5): -
- Hyde (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and kind especially vj...is the best man...Will visit again....
- Martin (1/5): Dreadful - Nothing Mouldy, cold. No towels no room key.
- James (7/5): -
- Evie (7/5): -
- Jay (10/5): -
- Emma (4/5): Shite!! - Shite !!! Shite !!!
- Aisling (1/5): -
- Richard (4/5): Never again - The location was okay No towels, run down, uncomfortable bed view of a car park
- Rachel (4/5): It was ok. Far from luxury. - It was in a good location.
It was clean enough Couldn’t get through to staff on the phone was locked out of the property for a while.
No towels in room.
Remote control to tv broken.
Uncomfortable beds.
- Naomi (3/5): Convenient location but nothing else - Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the desk when checking in. The shower door was hanging off. No towels and when requested was given a dirty towel and tols rest were on the wash. Television super small. No internet. No milk for tea and coffee.
- Diane (5/5): -
- Charlotte (1/5): Would never go back ever. Nothing luxury atall 🤢 - The location was good but there's nothing luxury about it. Didn't get shown to room left to find it ourselves, bathroom looked like it never met bleach in its life, no towels, carpet hadn't been hoovered was also all farying from near bathroom door. Sat on bed and the board fell through just for context we are not big people. Roller blinds had no chain on to open or shut them so remained closed was like a black hole, roller blinds also had rips all through them. Advertised it had a balcony but door screwed shut. Also the windows were that poor the wind was blowing these roller blinds everywgere with every window closed. Absoutley disgusting place weird vibes. When we checked in 5 mins later police, ambulance and crime scene forensics all rushed in. Nothing luxury about it avoid at all costs.
- Angela (1/5): Put me of Blackpool altogether - Absolutely disgusting this should be closed down blood on carpet, smoke alarm hanging out ceiling, dampness all round the ceiling, toilet accessories ripped of wall, shelf and mirror hanging off the wall, blood or or disgusting body fluids on the bedding and sheet bedding also ripped the list goes on
- Matt (1/5): Poor - The photos😂 Molde on skirting board, no heating overnight and broken beds.
- Michaela (10/5): We be back soon - The young went above and beyond
The tv wasn’t work
With in half hour he was up trying codes to unlock
Tv
So he put Netflix on so we could watch tv
And the flim was so good
Also let us check in 2 hours before
- Jake (8/5): Great - Great Great
- Ready (7/5): Was ok - No great location big room The heating ie radiators were not working only had 2 small heaters room was chilly most of the window blinds were broken o ly stayed for 1 night so was cheap enough
- Glen (8/5): Great location. Nice rooms, beautiful breakfast!! - Great staff and nice rooms and a really beautiful optional breakfast. Need to make sure that there’s milk tea/ coffee. But easy enough to go and collect my own
- Zoe (5/5): -
- Zoe (5/5): We made it worth it. - Fridge, location, room size. Toilet seat didn’t stay up, no towels, bathroom radiator hanging off, living room radiator hanging off, ripped blind, no tv remove, no toilet roll, no tea bags, no milk, key pad on door saying low battery every two minutes, shower head didn’t stay up, windows didn’t close properly wind all night, handle hanging off bathroom cabinet, thin quilt, no extra pillows only two flat ones
- Bethany (7/5): -
- Lowe (3/5): Would stay again if beds were better and towells provided - Tv very good
Door opening on to seafront
Good size room Bed very uncomfortable ceapest possible matress
No towells available
Shower very poor state of repair and very slow to drain
Beer in the bar expensive and had gone off
- Brendan (1/5): It was clean, sister hotel saphire full of illigals - Struggling to answer Load music that started at 10pm not ideal with kids, booking.com says parking's included but they tried charging me £14 for the night (including pictures of where it is, to the rear of the property that looks like a 3rd world country) didn't like the fact they include the word luxury in there name as it isn't.
- Gina (7/5): - The host was very welcoming and did a lot to put our mind at rest after reading all the reviews. The room was very modern and comfortable, water hot etc. Nothing really, I would say it's a three star, communal areas may need a little bit of attention but the room was clean enough and very good value for money. We went on a Wednesday with three kids.
- Nicky (7/5): - Brilliant staff very helpful
- Richard (4/5): Shame, lots of potential - Sea front location was fantatstic. It was cold. We got there and it was cold my partner asked for the heating and was ignored. I asked and was told it would be on at 7 only as automatic.
We went into the bar and the DJ was playing for friends. Random volumes and no direction just loud so we went to bed. Woke at midnight freezing cold so drove home.
Very dissapointed
- Moore (1/5): -
- Janette (5/5): - The bed was comfy and room cleaned well. The TV didn't work, seems to be no ariel plugged or satellite. Beds were very low for my 6ft 4 husband to sit down on. We had to buy our own milk as sachets of black coffee was the only option to drink.the toilet roll holder fell apart when using the toilet roll. Just needs a small Alan key to tighten it up. Small patch of mould in the shower. One of the windows wouldn't close properly so had a draft. Light bulb missing in wall lights.
- Kristie (1/5): This place should be shut down!! Water coming through the electrics meaning we couldn’t use the toilet as it was a light - The location is good but that’s all that was good. This is anything but luxury. There was water coming through the electrics and ceiling. The fire alarm was hanging off the wall, blood stain on the carpet. No towels provided had to go and ask for some ,no milk in the room had to go and ask for some and in general not very clean at all.
- Melanie (5/5): -
- Jordan (2/5): Not what we booked - The location We didn’t get the room that we booked, in wasn’t anywhere close, if I’d have known I would have booked somewhere much cheaper. We were told that the door was broken on the room that we had booked, but I think this was a lie. There was no towels in the room and when we asked, we were given really small floor towels. The toilet in the bar was full of smashed glass. They also were blasting music from the bar until 2:00am, didn’t really bother us as we were out but I could see how that would annoy others, especially on a Monday night when there is no one in the bar - seemed to be the only hotel on the whole strip that was doing this 😂
- pamela (3/5): Glad was on my there one night will not be returning - N/A 2 of staying only 1towel provided, room was cold +no heating available till late in the evening, old cotton buds under chair bed was not made up to the standard I would expect in a hotel
- Suzanne (1/5): Would definitely not visit again - Nothing Not as described, dirty
- Ok (10/5): -
- Claire-Louise (1/5): Worst hotel EVER! - The location was ideal The fact it was freezing and the heater didn't work. We were told someone would bring one to us but we had to wait in our room as they couldn't come in while we were gone. We waited 2 hours and in the end just went out as we were only staying one night and that was a lot of time to waste and we needed to eat!
The facilities advertised in our "hotel" were all closed down and we had to use the reception and bar of the sister hotel next door and we weren't told that it was all booked out for a private party and sleeping would be like picadilly circus with the heavy doors banging (no soft close), creaky floor boards and a whole hotel of drunk people coming home as late as 4.45am. Which wasn't helped by the fact we could see light under our wall when next door turned their bathroom light on and the constant sound of a loud generator throughout the night! Plus the communal toilet right next to our bathroom that seemed to be in constant use throughout the night. Not sure who was using it as anyone in the hotel at that time of the night/morning should have had a room with a toilet in it!
All in all I WOULD NOT recommend. It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in and nights sleep I have ever had!!!
- Scott (9/5): -
- Cherelle (5/5): -
- Rachel (1/5): Awful. - The only good thing was location. The room was dirty and felt very unsafe. We were told to take a photo of the code to get into the apartments and the room (evidently never changed). The smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling by a wire. The doors were so light, so not fire safety compliant. The carpet in the bedroom was filthy and the smell was horrendous. The windows were so dirty, you couldnt see out of them. The stairwell was dirty, the carpets clearly had not been vacuumed.. ever. There was a glade plug in next to the bed to cover up the smell of weed. We were given two shower gels - one was half used. The bed wasnt put together properly. The walls were filthy. They dont provide towels and charge £13 per towel per person. The car park was barely a car park. There was no welcome at reception, the receptionist wandered from the back drinking a pint of beer. The photos do not reflect the hotel at all. There was nothing luxurious about these apartments whatsoever. Wouldn't even given it one star.
- Margaret winters (4/5): -
- Leanne (5/5): Not happy for family, ok for boozy weekend with friends - Location Not a person in building, had to go next door to get code for doors and all other enquiries! requested travel cot at time of booking one in corridor down stairs we took this up to our room (booking a cot would indicate we had a child with us and they put us on 3rd floor) got cot to room to discover it was broken 😡 asked next door for another one which we never got! Bar downstairs was full of boxes and closed. Could be doing with a clean although room was ok.
- sam (1/5): - Nothing As soon as you walked into this place it felt dodgy the staff were no helph left u to find the room your self I took my Mrs on a 12 month anniversary I was so embarrassed when we opened the door the beds wear disgusting and on the floor the furniture was stained and disgusting the heater in the room was dented the other heater was without a stand on one side we open the door to the balcony and right at the front of you was a baby's dirty used nappy we walked in and walked out and went to the grand hotel to shower absolutely zero ratings
- Rebecca (1/5): -
- Jaclyn (1/5): - Nothing at all. Dirty, not clean at all. The fire alarm hanging from ceiling, which i think is very dangerous, damp patch on the ceiling, dust webs hanging from the wall. Very dirty and unpleasant. Needs a good clean and paint refresh. Also no towels supplied or even explained on check in. No space to put toiletries as shelf damaged, ensuit door handle missing. I can't attach all the pictures but OMG never again.
- Zak (2/5): Appalling and overpriced. The only good thing was the location - The room wasn't clean atall, it was £160 and not worth £40.
There were 2 screws sticking out of the bed which I cut myself on. I am fuming about it.
The sofa in the room had been 'fixed' to a degree.
Im guessing it's had some partying in that hotel over the years.
Not ideal for me, my partner and my son.
- Danielle (2/5): Will not be returning, not worth the value of money I paid and will be going to trading standards - Nothing Property was full of damp, smelt, dust everywhere, smoke alarm hanging out the ceiling and not secured. List goes on….
- Daniel (1/5): Absolutely disgusting - Nothing ! One dirty hotel walked in and found a needle on the floor then went up to the room and was disgusted with what I saw drove 4 hours to get there just to drive 4 hours back home
- Martin (1/5): We did not stay there we went to another hotel - Nothing The venue advertised as a luxury seaside hotel and it wasn’t also the room was supposed to be deluxe and it was a bed bathroom with a small shower and was not as advertised when I told the reception that we would not be staying there he said what do you expect for a budget hotel I told him I’m not going to debate it and left without staying one night.
