- Girja (7/5): -
- Gupta (3/5): Completely Disappointing – Dirty & Unsafe - Nothing we like The staff was rude.
There was no cleanliness at all.
It was falsely shown in the pictures ... it looked huge, but it's nothing like that...
There was no cleanliness whatsoever.
It also felt like a safety concern... no one stays or sits at the reception properly. Anyone could come and go anytime.... that kind of feeling

- ROY (9/5): - Best hotel for me All the locations were within easy reach from here, allowing me to explore them easily. The hotel was excellent, and the staff was also very nice.
- Satata (5/5): - Location is good everything is nearby It's not properly maintaineded
- Lexie (8/5): Would recommend - lovely stay - Liked it close proximity to street markets. Right on the water which was lovely when going on a walk. Also right next to the bagore ki Haveli which has the nightly cultural shows. If you have lots of luggage then you may struggle as there is no elevator. You walk up very narrow and steep swirly stairs to get to your room. But the staff was helpful and carried our suitcases up the stairs
- Juhi (8/5): -
- Gohil (5/5): - best location near by other locations Just good location nearest by others location

- Jeffrey (8/5): Solid choice - The room was lovely, with a door opening into a courtyard. Good place, excellent location right on Ghanguar Ghat, , good staff.
- WAREE (6/5): Not valuable. - Nothing The room is not comfortable. No elevator, have to carry luggage to the upper room. Car cannot access.
- Theresa (6/5): - The bed in our room was comfortable.
I could observe giant fruit bats in the tree in front of the balcony at night!
In general the place was okay. We were a bit disappointed because we had expected more for the price we payed in comparison to other places we stayed before:
The room with balcony we had booked was very small and very hot due to the glass front, AC did not seem to work well. It was supposed to have lake view but it was actually "tree view".
The location would have been great but even though it was a small road it was super busy with loads of scooters, motorbikes, way too much with the room and balcony right on top and noise until late.
The guys working there were not unfriendly but also not especially nice.
Toilet was not clean on arrival.
So all in all I can recommend it, if you get a good deal and don't come at Indian holiday time when whole Udaipur is very busy.
- CHING FANG (8/5): -
- Srilalitha (9/5): -
- Jane (8/5): -
- Hinal (10/5): - The location is amazing and most importantly the whole ambiance is so grateful and aesthetically beautiful! Incredibly amazing stay! I would highly recommend it !!! The staff as well was great!

- Gayathri (7/5): Overall the stay was good except for the power issue. - The prime location , warm service by the staff (everyone ) .clean room I didn’t like the fact that there were no towels provided even though it was listed in the amenities and no complementary water bottle.
Also no power back up in the property causing power shutdown multiple times.
- Jose Cabot (10/5): -
- Drishti (1/5): - The made us wait for 1 hour at late night and was trying to made us fool by telling that we booked the same room they were allotting … rather they sold our booked room to other guest and later on they made a mess
- Hallows (9/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): Great position in the heart of the town with wonderful lake views - Beautiful old palace converted with charm and with love It was all great for my 1 night stay. I may return one day
- Justin (10/5): - Location was perfect for being in the old city. Bedroom was very spacious and bathroom was working well. Hot water was hit and miss but in the heat it wasnt too much of a problem
- Benedetta (3/5): - No windows, mold
- Karen (7/5): Good location; a little pricey and small room. - Good location near the water; beautifully restored and decorated old building.
It was lovely, but a little disappointing in terms of value for money compared with other places we’ve stayed in this trip.
Marat helped with everything we asked for. The room was pretty small for two people, and the bed was small for two who are not a couple. One of us slept in the window seat.
Double the price of our similar accommodation in Jodhpur, which is probably due to location and timing - we were in Udaipur over Holi festival.
The roof terrace was closed, which was disappointing.
The stairs were exceptionally steep - good mobility is essential!
Only accessible on foot; even tuktuks can only get to within 50 metres or so.
- Himanshu (8/5): - Close to the all tourist location.
- Michael (10/5): - Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, saubere Zimmer, sehr gutes Frühstück, und schöner Garten. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.
- Magen (9/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel, conveniently located.
Also good value for money. Staff very pleasant. They charge a service fee for use of credit card. Not good.
- Joshua (10/5): Above and Beyond! - The property and service exceeded expectations. I was taken care of as soon as I walked in the door. Tamil had some great knowledge about the area and we bonded over our love of cricket. Tamil hooked me up with the balcony room and the bedroom was very spacious. Tamil also went above and beyond by taking me to the bus station. However, the wrong destination was on the ticket so he drove me across town to make the bus. What an absolute hero!
I would highly recommend Barefoot hotel for the great service and lifesaving support.
- Tanvi (10/5): Authentic and affordable - I had an amazing stay at Barefoot Boutique Heritage Haveli. It is a stunning 200 year old property that feels deeply traditional and full of culture because of the historic Rajasthani architecture, the stone structure stays quite cold inside, which actually adds to the authentic vibe just be prepared
The Highlights
Value: It was incredibly cost efficient for such a unique experience
Cleanliness: The washrooms were spotless and well maintained.
Service: The service was excellent, and the owner was very nice and welcoming.
Decor: Beautiful, traditional, and very 'Old Rajasthan.'
- Stephen (10/5): - Location. Food. Stained glass. Staff. Enclosed balcony.
- tomar (10/5): -
- Faheem (8/5): -
- michael (10/5): - Lovely room in a heritage haveli overlooking thr lake and a small temple.
- Lesley (9/5): -
- Clémence (3/5): Disappointing - Central From the photos online, the property appeared well maintained and peaceful. In reality, the hotel felt poorly maintained overall, with a strong artificial scent diffused into the rooms, which created an unpleasant and somewhat unhealthy atmosphere.
We were moved between several rooms before finding one that was acceptable. In the first room where we stayed, the cleanliness of the bedsheets was questionable, which was particularly concerning.
In our final room, many windows did not close properly, making the room cold and uncomfortable at night. We were told on the first day that we could request a heater, but in practice none was available. As a result, basic comfort was not guaranteed.
The original price was high compared to similar properties in Udaipur, and we only agreed to stay after negotiating. Even after this adjustment, the quality of the room and facilities did not feel consistent with the cost.
The staff were polite, but this did not compensate for the misleading presentation and overall standards of the property. Future guests should be cautious when booking.
- Ravi (1/5): - Location good only the photo uploaded on this site but actually room is not like that
Washroom facility very bad. No mirror facility. Not good for family Location good only the photo uploaded on this site but actually room is not like that
Washroom facility very bad. No mirror facility. Not good for family
- Ann (10/5): Delightful hotel in the heart of Udaipur - The location is stunning, right in the heart of the old town a few steps from the lake. Every attention to detail is evident. Our room had a delightful balcony and comfortable bed. The decor is traditional and stunning. The staff are so helpful and lovely.
I would fully recommend this hotel as gorgeous and good value. Nothing
- Rajendra (1/5): - Nothing Nothing boutique about this place, too much moisture in the room, paints falling apart, water dripping down from the ceiling, very dirty property
- Vedant (10/5): - My experience with barefoot boutique hotel was exceptionally well.Tamil the manager really cool guy and very attentive.Very clean and neat rooms in a central location.
- Sanjay (4/5): - Good property Good location
Poor Hospitality
Staff were less concerned about the services if asked for.....
Unprofessional behaviour Nothing except Location
- Janhavi (9/5): -
- Kanika (8/5): Convenient, clean and comfortable - The location is perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The interiors were aesthetically pleasing. It was very convenient.
- Boakes (8/5): Beautiful building and room. - Location was very central and had lake views. It was clean and quirky. Loved the balcony area to it and watch the sun setting and the city come alive with lights and music. 6:37am wake up call from the bells and drums. The noise from the bars and motorbikes till midnight disturbed any sleep you might have wanted.
- Vishal (4/5): Needs improvement - Location - everything was close by 1. No continuous supply of hot water for shower and the heater was half open with parts hanging out. Not sure how safe that is.
2. The room and bathroom don't look like in the pictures
3. The room we stayed in had water seepage, chipping paint
4. The sheets weren't entirely clean
5. The bathroom curtain doesn't cover the shower area fully. It doesn't do the 1 job it was supposed to.
6. We weren't told that there was no approach for taxis/autos to the place (we understand that the old city doesn't permit this, but there should be a warning somewhere!)
7. We felt that the room was very cold. Even colder than outside. While this may have been because of the "old haveli" adequate precautions are required.
8. There's no TV in the room. Also, 1 litre of water is given on the 1st day after which you either buy water or you ask for purified water from the staff
9. Due to the nearby rooftop lounges, music and noise went on late into the night and there was some noise or the other through the night.
- Vikas (10/5): -
- Animesh (9/5): -
- Rohit (9/5): Pleasant stay, Tamil was helpful. - The heritage look and decor was pleasing. The location is perfect for the exploration. The front desk lady is not that helpfull.
- Dhanashri (8/5): Barefoot Boutique Hotel has an unbeatable location right opposite Lake Pichola! - Barefoot Boutique Hotel offers one of the best locations in Udaipur, situated right opposite Lake Pichola with stunning surroundings and easy access to key attractions. The biggest highlight of the stay was the manager, Tamil, who was extremely helpful, polite, and prompt in addressing any requests, making the experience smooth and comfortable. However, the hotel has very steep steps, which can be challenging, especially for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. While the destination itself is exceptional, this is an important factor to keep in mind when booking. Overall, a great stay for those who can manage the stairs and want a prime lakeside location with warm hospitality.
- Deepabali (9/5): -
- Nripati charan (8/5): We had a good experience to stay at this hotel. The behaviour of the staff was nice. -
- Steffi (10/5): -
- Nirali (7/5): Good location but need to improve their services - Cute and charming boutique hotel. Gate closes at 1 am- So no entry after that.
There was renovation going on in other rooms including noise and paint smell as well as difficulty to go out due to the work going on in between
Hot water comes literally for 30 second and stops
- ayushi (10/5): -
- Md. Masarrath (9/5): Great stay, will recommend it to anyone visiting Udaipur. - This was my second stay at the property and it was wonderful. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel is situated in a great location, at a stone's throw from the Pichola Lake and Bagore Ki Haveli. Some good restaurants are also located nearby. Nothing!
- Melanee (8/5): -
- Guest (10/5): - Perfect Location,Clean rooms, Friendly and helpful staff, great experience.Special mention to Tamil for his excellent hospitality This is a 300+ years haveli property,so keep your expectations accordingly
- Madhav (1/5): -
- Lucas (10/5): Very good stay - Very good localization. Very clean. The room is very spacious. I couldn’t make the hot water work and since I arrived late in the night there was no one in the reception to help me
- Tracey (5/5): Passable - Location Celling Paint falling down in bathroom and bedroom. Damp sheets had to ask them to be changed
- Bhoomika (8/5): -
- Modi (6/5): Average..just the location was a plus point. - The kocation Room facilities not upto the mark when compared to the price that I paid i.e. Rs 4500/- per night. Prices were like 3-4 star hotels but customer service, attitude of the owner, cleanliness of hotel...not satisfied with the value that I paid .
- Melissa (6/5): Great location but very basic rooms. - The best thing about the hotel location which is right next to the water is great and walkable to all city attractions. The noise level this hotel is off the charts - not from the road as such as my room was at the back of the hotel but from a nearby bar that blasts music every night until about 11pm. My bathrooms also didn’t have any windows that closed which let in mosquitoes - not fun!
- Tusshar (7/5): A nice, centrally located property. Best suited if you're travelling alone. - The property was pretty decent, and the host and staff were nice and helpful. It was centrally located (right at Ganghor Ghat), making it easily accessible to all key points. The room was way smaller than expected, which caused slight discomfort after we unpacked our bags. The check-in time was listed as 2 pm, which is inconvenient for those arriving on early morning flights or trains. It should be 12 pm latest.
- maria (8/5): Excellent address in Udaipur - An excellent location/. Lovely room with view on the lake. The house (haveli) is very beautiful.
The staff was helpful and nice. A good value for money. The hot water: sometimes was a little too hot and then cold.
The street is noisy and here's temple just in front.
- Bernhard Preusser (7/5): -
- Sharq (2/5): -
- Themis (1/5): Bad experience 😞 - Only the location 1.The access to the rooms is very difficulty specialy for the aged people because the steps are over 40cm in high and lower than 60cm in depth.
2. The rooms are very small
3.The cleaness was terrible
4.The owner of the hotel was rude and aggressive
- Jigar (8/5): -
- Shilpa (8/5): - Centrally located, the hotel is walking distance from the temple, palace and other attractions in the centre. The beds were very comfortable and clean, the place is budget friendly and calm in the evenings.
- Vedant (3/5): Come only if you want to stay right at the ghat. Not at all suitable for family or older people. - The property is right at the Ghanghor ghat - with Udaipur city palace, Ambrai and near by locations at a walkable distance. It's not a traditional hotel but more like a help service stay. The room was on 3rd floor with no lift and they expected us to come down and fill water. Even if it was self service least they could have done is keep a water dipenser on each floor. We had two rooms the ones facing the lake are good but the other rooms are dull and lack natural lighting.
The staff was not rude but not professional or intellegent either.
Not suitable for someone who has diffuculty with stairs as there is no lift and the stairs are uneven and steep as this is an 100+ yr old building.
No car parking or assitance for the same.
- Suthaphat (10/5): Amazing stay in Udaipur - The room, the location, and the building.
Also Tamil is amazing and helpful. Overall everything was great.
It would be even better if the windows in the lake-facing room could be closed entirely (there are some little gaps)
- Maya (10/5): - Beautiful, clean, comfortable. Lake view is great the tree is an added bonus! Central location so very noisy
