Guest Reviews
- Richard (10/5): Lovely stay and cottage.Definitely would recommend - Ideal location for us. Everything we needed was in the property. Nice and spacious as well. Village shop Just in front of the property. Pub is just a 2 mins walk they serve food and drink. The food is lovely. Really liked the property and will be returning again. Only a minor thing that can be resolved easily.
Security light kept coming on /off through the night.
Maybe some blackout blinds for the front 2 bedrooms can easily rectify this.
- Christine (10/5): Lovely cottage home from home - The cottage was extremely well equipped. Very comfortable. Very nice pub/ restaurant near by which served nice food. Handy convenience store close by. Could have had more explicit details on how to find the cottage. Were given the post code but it was a little bit difficult to find as it was situated behind a shop.
- Rachel (9/5): Absolutely brilliant house, perfect for families. - The house was the best equipped house I have ever stayed in for a holiday home for children. High chair, travel cot, stair gates that were really easy to fit. Oil, salt, pepper, some herbs and spices in the cupboard. Lots of crockery, cutlery, and good pans and kitchen knives. Loads of toys/games in the dining room cupboard. Three big bedrooms and a large lounge. TV access to a number of smart TV apps. A small but nice courtyard for fresh air. On Fridays and Saturdays there is a lovely farm shop, and during the week a lovely coffee cart. Location is right behind a shop, which rather than being a con, we found very convenient. Parking is on the road which can be a bit of a squeeze with various driveways. For us, we found parking round the corner was the easiest and there were plenty of spaces. Mattress in the pink room was suitable for a child but may be too soft/springy for some adults.
- Debbie (8/5): Gorgeous cottage but no good for fussy sleepers like me! - Almost everything about the cottage was wonderful! Unfortunately I didn't sleep well at all both nights, hence the score of 8 not 10!
- Trudy (10/5): Very happy with this property and would recommend highly. - Everything we needed was there. The house was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated in a very comfortablestyle. The host was excellent with communication and thoughtful about how to make our stay as good as possible. We had milk, Welsh cakes and sweets on our arrival, as an extra touch. Everything was great
- Hope (10/5): A lovely short break in a beautiful location. - Everything, a beautiful cottage in a great location, will return. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (10/5): Beautiful cottage in great location - It’s a gem of a cottage , great location really felt like I was in someone’s home The weather
- Dan (8/5): Ideal short stay in the Gower - Clean, spacious, well-equipped cottage on the Gower. Despite some small negatives, I would stay here again - the cottage inside is lovely and in a great location! Also the best equipped kitchen I've ever stayed in for a holiday rental. The following is intended as constructive criticism for the owner. Overall, the cottage is a great place for a short stay on the Gower.
The booking page mentions parking, but there is no private parking available. The cottage is on a main road tucked behind (and very much in the shadow of) a convenience store, so you have to park on a residential street just up the road (c. 50m).
On arrival, we felt the photographs of the front of the property were a bit deceptive - there is a shop in front of the cottage which blocks all front windows. You feel like you're walking into the backdoor of the shop to access the cottage. We weren't too bothered by this but some guests may be.
Most of the doors on the first floor need re-hanging and do not close properly. This included the main bathroom (not ideal sharing with the in-laws!) and both front bedrooms.
The upstairs hallway also has a collapsed/broken floor board which feels a bit disconcerting.
Lastly, the bedframe in the front left bedroom is very old and quite unsupportive propping the mattress up on springs. Other bedrooms were comfortable, though.
Nevertheless I would still recommend staying here. None of the above was enough to spoil our stay completely.
- Becka (10/5): A comfortable and relaxing stay - would recommend! - The property exceeded our expectations - so homely, very welcoming, well equipped, very clean and comfortable, lovely decor.
- Ian (9/5): Lovely accommodation. Every thing you could need is provided. Great comms with Jacky. -
- Mark (10/5): This cosy cottage is beautifully decorated, inc. fresh flowers. Great shower, comfy beds. Awesome! -
- Fritzie (10/5): A home away from home. - The property is very clean and cozy.it feels like home away from home.the owner Jacky is very sweet and thoughtful. We got in late at night and to found milk, some Welsh spreadable butter and some more goodies we can have for breakfast the next day.Good size bedrooms. Shower is amazing. I would highly recommend. None
- Jeremy (10/5): Perfect cottage for our purpose - Our host Jacky was very personable and helpful. The instructions for accessing the property and using things like heating etc were simple to understand and worked perfectly. Nice touches such as complimentary jar of chocolates and mini jams were lovely. Nothing really.
- Vikki_rich (10/5): Fantastic - Everything about this place was amazing, location, accommodation, the communication with the owner, facilities, bedding, toiletries, couldn't fault one part of it. Only downside was the weird Chinese lady videoing us and taking photos as we unpacked the car. She made us feel extremely unwelcome, apparently she is a local!
- Daniel (9/5): Loved it in Rose cottage. Very clean and comfortable. - Lovely cottage in a good location. Very comfortable and clean. Everything you need.
- Stefan (10/5): This really is a great place to stay with everything that you could need provided by the hosts. - great location for exploring the gower. Nice pub just around the corner and village shop and farm shop on the doorstep. The location was quite but only minutes away from the nearest beach and the mumbles
- Watson (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the cottage was great, clean, tidy, comfortable, and a great location. Nothing to fault will go back again.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb - Beautifully renovated cottage. Lovely and warm when we arrived in the evening. Felt very welcomed with milk in the fridge and some goodies in the kitchen. Suited us perfectly. Would definitely stay again.
- Kevin (10/5): A fabulous cottage close to some beautiful Gower beaches. - Great location on the Gower peninsula - we did a beautiful coastal path walk via Brandy Cove to Caswell Bay straight from the cottage. Facilities at the cottage were excellent - super comfortable beds, fabulous shower and a wonderful kitchen. We have stayed on the Gower 3 or 4 times a year for the past 8 years and this host was extremely accommodating with check-in and out times, supplying beach towels and complimentary welcome pack/food. No parking may be an issue for some - maybe with young children- but was not a problem for us. Plenty of places to park nearby.
- Fiona (10/5): Spring time get away. - This is a super cottage, decorated with taste and colour, so interesting, and furnished to a high standard, with 3 double bedrooms. It was very welcoming with cakes, tea, milk on arrival. Very close to Caswell beach, Southgate, and the Mumbles! Nothing really, the cottage is lovely. It's tucked behind d the village stores, which had a broken drain pipe, it was a little noisy when it rained, the splashing house didn't affect us as we had the windows closed.
- Rebeca (10/5): A real gem of a cottage in a beautiful part of the world! - A beautiful cottage with plenty of downstairs space including a modern kitchen / dining area and large livingroom. Big bedrooms upstairs, and 2 bathrooms. Fantastic shower. Nice outdoor space including a picnic table. We found everything we needed and more at the property, and had an amazing visit! Three Cliffs Bay was a 10 minute drive away, and it was absolutely stunning! The hosts were lovely and readily answered any questions we had. Wifi was great. Parking was readily available on the street very close to the cottage. You can tell that the hosts have put a lot of thought and a lot of love into the cottage. We definitely hope to return in the future. In fact, we would happily live there! Nothing
- Hilton (8/5): Charming cottage in a quiet location - Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and tidy with excellent communication from host Jacky. The kitchen looks to be nearly new and had everything we needed including a dishwasher. My family enjoyed a comfortable stay and I'd happily recommend this cottage. The cottage is tucked behind the village shop, which made parking directly outside sometimes tricky. Also on leaving day it made loading the car more difficult, not helped by the torrential rain (obviously the weather can't be helped!).
- Anne-marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Boutique holiday property great for a stay - Fantastic property finished to a very good quality. Comfortable furnishings and beautiful bedding. Great location for exploring Gower, Mumbles and Swansea. N/A
- Anna (10/5): cosy cottage and good location - Nice atmosphere and design and it absolutely had everything we needed
the cottage is beautiful and felt like home :) there’s nothing I did not like
