Guest Reviews
- CampbellD (10/5): A perfect Riad with starry sky and Sahara views! - When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the staff and given traditional Berber Whisky. Although we hadn't pre-arranged to have a meal at the Riad staff spoke with the kitchen and made it possible for us. The food was plentiful and delicious, soup, salad, chicken tagine and breads. Our room was spacious and warm with a hot shower. The decor throughout the Riad was calming with plenty of areas to relax. The rooftop has a view of the Sahara. This was lovely to see in the morning as we arrived at night. There is car parking. From here you can travel on to the sahara desert. There was so many choices for breakfast including Berber eggs, crumpets and pancakes. There was also fresh fruits. Outside there is a charming pool area with plenty of areas to relax. At night the stars are shiny and bright. Everything and everyone was above our expectations. Highly recommend.

- Biba.mazz (9/5): La magia del deserto - Personale attento e gentilissimo.
Posizione fantastica a 5 minuti a piedi dalle dune. Ottima colazione e cena.
Parcheggio disponibile. Nulla
- arthur (8/5): Goed voor 1 nacht - Goed hotel voor 1 nacht
Als je daar heen gaat
Vond liggen iets minder
Maar dat komt omdat het ook wel een soort eind van de wereld is Onbijt was minder , maar dat kan ook aan mij liggen
Alleen maar mannen , denk dat ze het beter gaan doen als ze er vrouwen bij gaan betrekken

- Yasmin (10/5): Iit was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway at Merzouga. - The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay.
- Norberto (10/5): Good in all aspects - Good located near the dunes, very nice room and fantastic dinner.
The staff very nice and friendly.
- Campmorocco (10/5): Riad Merzouga dunes - We came to the hotel on the recommendation of a friend. It was a great stay in this Riad. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, the decoration is super nice. The architecture and the spaces in Moroccan style, very beautiful. The attention of all the staff and the owner was excellent. The place allows you to rest comfortably and appreciate the beauty as well.
In addition to this the food is very good and plentiful.
Totally satisfied with the stay here.
- Maria (10/5): Best Riad in merzouga - An incredibly beautiful, and unique luxury Riat with stunning views of the desert. Hassan and every staff member were extremely welcoming and caring, making every minute of our stay like at home. The rooms have a unique interior design, which I haven’t seen elsewhere, not to mention how cozy the bed was with looks out the window to the desert horizon. The night stands are built into the wall with additional, window-like stands above your head to place additional night-objects—truly unique. Another unique detail were the roses placed alongside the soap/shampoo in the shower. Simply staying at this Riat is a relaxation therapy: it’s incredibly quiet, and the pool area and terrace are simply stunning, with seating and resting areas around the pool with incredible views of the desert horizon. You can watch the sunset from either one, and be amazed at the beauty of the Sahara or get on your back at one of the seating areas and gaze at the stars—a mesmerizing experience. When I sat down at the restaurant to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, I truly felt like a queen. Dinner for one is a banquet, with 5 different courses of mouth-watering Moroccan food, served alongside tea, coffee, fresh pressed juice or anything else you request! I especially liked the apple smoothie made with banana and milk during breakfast: delicious! Nothing
- Viaggioorganizzato (10/5): Merzouga dunes Luxury Riad - A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Merzouga! My stay at Riad
Merzouga Dunes was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The hotel itself is stunning, with its traditional Moroccan architecture beautifully blending with modern comforts.
The rooms were spotless, spacious, and equipped with all the Western amenities you could need, offering the perfect blend of authenticity and luxury. The pool and garden areas were serene and meticulously maintained – the perfect oasis to relax after a day of exploring the dunes.
The food was another highlight – every meal was bursting with flavor, showcasing the best of Moroccan cuisine. Whether you're enjoying breakfast by the pool or dinner under the stars, the atmosphere is simply unbeatable.
If you're looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat in Merzouga, Riad Merzouga Dunes is a must-visit. I can't wait to return!
- Lyn (8/5): A family run riad on the edge of the desert. Very accommodating and comfortable. -
- Danny (9/5): Superb -
- Delena (9/5): Attractive, excellent staff, pleasant stay. - The breakfast was good, standard riad breakfast. The room was large and well decorated. We loved the swimming pool. It took many hours for the room to cool. The air unit is too small for the size of the room.
- Viaggioorganizzato (10/5): Exceptional - A Secret Treasure in Merzouga's Heart! My time at Riad Merzouga Dunes was a truly wonderful place. The staff was welcoming and friendly from the time we arrived, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. The hotel itself is breathtaking, skillfully fusing modern amenities with traditional Moroccan architecture. The accommodations offered the ideal balance of elegance and authenticity; they were immaculate, roomy, and furnished with all the conveniences of the West. After spending a day exploring the dunes, guests could unwind in the peaceful and well-kept garden and pool facilities. Another highlight was the food, which was excellent Moroccan cuisine at its finest. Each dish was flavored to the brim. Whether you are having breakfast or not Nothing
- Céline (10/5): We can’t wait to come back! - Highly recommend it!
The best riad/hotel experience we had in Morocco.
The room: spacious, air conditioned, clean and well-decorated!
The riad: amazing swimming pool to relax and swim when it’s too hot. An actual swimming pool unlike many other riads.
Activities: we did quad and morning visit of the dunes - and we loved it.
The food: the kefta and lemon chicken tagines were the best we had in our holiday .
Special thanks to Hassan, with who we shared some of our favorite memories in Morocco. He is one of a kind, treated us like friends and we will always remember him. Got to know the Berber history and culture. We look forward to coming back to the Riad one day !
- Morocco (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Riad (hotel) in Merzouga desert Nothing
- Ilias (2/5): Hotel is not worth it for the money - Only the pool The room, the service, the breakfast.
- Caroline (10/5): Staying here was the highlight of our stay in Morocco. Unforgettable experience. - We stayed at this beautiful riad for 4 nights. We've been in Morocco six weeks and this was the highlight of our visit.
The riad overlooks the dunes. Our room was spotlessly clean, extremely spacious with comfortable beds, good bed linen and cosy comfortors/duvets and blankets. (We visited in March when the nights can be chilly!)The bathroom is beautiful with a large shower, sink area and good towels.
The pool area is gorgeous and relaxing. Breakfast is generous and our evening meals were delicious.
This hotel is a little outside the town of Merzouga, which means that it's quieter and away from the usual bustle. There was no problem getting in and out of Merzouga - the owner Hassan dropped us in and picked us up. Most importantly the location means that it's very quiet. They've also taken the time to install double glazing so none of the typical noise gets through to your room.
We arrived without any tours booked and the Hotel booked it for us very easily and very reasonably. We spent one night in the dunes (with the requisite camel ride!), had a lovely meal, stayed in a tent and listened to Berber music. We also did quad biking in the dunes and we spend half a day over the Sahara where we visited Nomad families and a local craftsman with Hassan and his cousin Mohammed. We were completely off-road (4x4) with nothing to see except the horizon. Truly amazing experience.
What stands out however, is how well we were looked after. There is a gentle hospitality here and a genuine care for guests. From listening to the soft tones of the Amazigh language, to meeting other locals, to the wonderful food, this was an experience we will remember. We simply did not want to leave.
This area is the heartbeat of Morocco and staying at the Riad was a memorable experience. Thank you Hassan and Mohammed for a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect.
- S. (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed the tour by car with Hassan & Hassan. Nr 1 Hassan and the real Hassan showed us the sights and told us about life in the desert. Some excellent dune driving! We also enjoyed the pool and the beautiful room and finally our amazing stay in the tents in the desert. Thanks
- Hassan (10/5): Best Luxury Riad in Merzouga 5 stars - It was an excellent experience. The interior was beautiful. The employees were friendly and attentive. Both the hot water and the air conditioner remained constant, which is very crucial in difficult environments. It was also an excellent location. We started our camel ride from the raid to the dunes camp, which was a respectable distance away. The vista at sunset was really stunning. Overall, I would definitely suggest this raid.
- Marc (9/5): Superb - Amazing decor inside and outside the riad. Rooms and beds were comfortable and had heating (winter). Everything seemed brand new and well designed.
Nice outdoor area with necessary privacy. The pool is nice for pictures but ice cold in winter months.
Personnel felt a bit distracted.
- Sarah (10/5): Best riad in Merzouga - Probably the nicest hospitality I've ever experienced. The staff was fantastic, and the accommodations were beautiful, with views of the desert. Not to mention the convenience of having a pool.
I got a terrific price and will definitely stay here again.
- Morocco (10/5): Exceptional - My recent stay at Riad Merzouga Dunes was a total pleasure. I was engulfed in a warm and welcoming environment the minute I went through the magnificent doors of this wonderful riad. The exquisite cleanliness of the Moroccan-themed apartments was the first thing that struck me. The outside pool area was a wonderful oasis of calm. As the sun sank over the stunning Moroccan countryside, I found myself soaking in the tranquil atmosphere, sipping a cool drink, and relishing the moment. The great kindness of the host was what actually made this trip outstanding. They went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and to meet all of my needs. The meals at Riad Merzouga Dunes were nothing short of delectable. The extensive menu included a variety of Moroccan cuisine that piqued my interest. Breakfast, lunch, and supper were all dependably great, with the ideal combination of classic flavors. It was an adventure, and I looked forward to each meal. Finally, my stay was the right blend of elegance, comfort, and Moroccan warmth. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and I wholeheartedly suggest this hidden treasure.
