- Clare (8/5): Beautiful hotel and food, upgrade your room! - We loved everything about the stay, the food was unexpectedly amazing (and we were non veggies too) the house is beautiful, the staff were absolutely lovely. The walks around the location are amazing, 10/10 Our room was a little disappointing as it was quite small for two and damp with terrible water pressure. there was signs of mould being removed from the wall behind the bed, suspect replacing the vent axia would help a bit. There are some really lovely rooms at the property though so maybe just be specific about what room you want and pay a bit more (we paid for the cheapest room and it was good value)

Just it’s a little away from the centre but it also helps coz you are in a very peaceful and calm neighbourhood.

- mehmet emrah (9/5): jolly good - Breakfast was good; you fill out a form the day before to choose your breakfast, and when you arrive at the dining room in the morning, it's prepared and served fresh. We had dinner out in Hawkshead, a half-hour walk away, as we needed supplies for the return journey. Wine and cheese by the fireplace was a lovely idea. It's close to hiking routes, with many destinations accessible by foot or bike. When we were late for check-out after our morning Tarn Hows bike tour, they didn't cause any problems; it's a hospitable and friendly place. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place. I don't know because we only stayed one night, but I do know we should have stayed longer.

We had an amazing 3 course vegan meal on the Friday night and wonderful vegan breakfast each morning, served in the dining room. - Sadhbh (10/5): - We had such a wonderful stay at Yewfield Guest House. It’s such a beautiful, warm, inviting space. We were kindly upgraded to a room in the house which was gorgeous. Our stay coincided with storm Amy and staff looked after us so well, letting us know about flooded roads and accommodating us with last minute dinner on Friday (which was delicious). We felt very looked after. Breakfast each morning was also wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Tbe caring people who look after Yewfield and make it special. The grounds that are nutrured in line with nature's harmony. Comfortable bed and armchairs downstairs and accessibility to borrow the books. A real fire to sit in front of and contemplate. The shower tray needed attention and cleaning, but this was reported and will be attended to by the lovely staff.

Greeted by a lovely lady called Linda on arrival who was very welcoming. The single en-suite room in Rose How Cottage was beautiful and clean, just as described on booking. Super drinks making facilities with lovely selection of teas and coffee and fresh drinking water. Veggie breakfast was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely consider booking another stay in the future.

Ein Herrenhaus im Lake District, ein Traum von Ruhe und Entspannung. Dazu trägt natürlich neben dem Gesamtambiente auch in erster Linie das Personal bei. Wunderbarer, typisch englischer Garten mit vielen schönen Nischen. Sehr gutes, vegetarisches Frühstück. Ich bin kein Vegetarier, aber hier fehlt einem absolut nichts. Dieses Haus - jederzeit wieder!

- Jamie M (10/5): Beautiful quiet place to stay for a short time - The serene, quiet nature was all we needed, plus the beautiful walking trails to what feels like a private lake. I spent 2 days reading here on the grass, and one morning jogging around the lake. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly. Yewfield is situated far from Ambleside and tucked away above backroads - be careful if you drive here that you're comfortable on one-way roads and very narrow drives. Also, note that there is no lunch or dinner served (I believe) and no kitchen, so prepare what your plan is. If you only stay 2 nights, you will not get a cleaning service between those days.

Beautiful old buildings, so thoughtfully maintained and decorated; the room and bed were very comfortable with a view onto the vegetable garden; breakfast was amazing; the vegetarian dinner was divine; the gardens were gorgeous. And last but not least, the staff were wonderful! The walks in the area are a joy as well. So glad we found this place! I really can't think of anything! My partner even got to play the Steinway... so... no complaints here!

Guter Ausgangspunkt für schöne Wanderungen in der Umgebung direkt vom Haus aus. Liebevoll gestaltet mit vielen aufmerksamen Details und gutem Konzept. - Anja (7/5): Sehr gute Lage und leckeres Essen, aber nur mittelmäßiges Zimmer für den hohen Preis - Spektakulär gelegene Unterkunft mit wunderschönem Englischen Garten und sehr leckerem vegetarischen Frühstück. Auch das Abendessen im Restaurant hatte exzellente Qualität. Das Personal war zuvorkommend und erfüllte jeden Wunsch. Der Restaurant- und Aufenthaltsbereich war sehr gemütlich. Das Zimmer wirkte etwas abgewohnt und könnte eine Grundrenovierung gebrauchen. Es sah auf den Fotos deutlich hochwertiger und viel größer aus und hat uns enttäuscht. Außerdem gab es nur einen Sessel, keine weitere Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer , so dass zwei Personen nicht gemütlich sitzen konnten.

- Chris (10/5): Lovely country guesthouse near xoniston. - Lovely bed and room with a view. Good location near coniston and tarn hows. Staff were friendly and the breakfast amazing. There was a car charger also. We forgot our cable though. It was listed on booking as near little langdale. It’s now where near really. Also they don’t clean the room or make the bed unless you put a sign to do so. Usually it’s the opposite. So watch that.

The hosts and staff are all welcoming, polite and friendly The room very clean and comfortable to relax in. Tarn Howes is only a short walk away which we went to view on warm summers evening. A perfect night away for us.

- Jessica (9/5): - Very welcoming team, who cooked a delicious dinner for good value. The room was spacious and comfortable with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic. As a veggie, it's wonderful to just eat everything ! Could do with better placed sockets for phones in the bedrooms.
