- Charlotte (10/5): Great place to stay in hidden gem location - Great location, lots of hidden gems to visit nearby! Apartment was perfect, we had everything we needed and Sharon was super helpful!
- emily (10/5): Had a fantastic stay close to the beach - Spacious and clean kitchen facilities available if you want to cook Clean and homely vibes
- liilii15 (10/5): - We had such a lovely stay in this charming studio apartment! The outdoor space was adorable (my partner had serious lawn envy 😂). Inside was spotless, cosy, and felt instantly welcoming. Our thoughtful hosts left homemade bakery treats, jam, and creamy Irish butter – such a delicious touch! They were incredibly friendly yet completely respected our privacy. Highly recommend for a peaceful, homely getaway.
- Massimiliano (9/5): - Gentilissimi e posizione perfetta.
Accoglienza meravigliosa da parte dei proprietari.
Grazie Tutto ok
- Patricia (7/5): A bit further out of Tralee than expected but they was my mistake. Ideal spot for a quiet relaxing break in an unusual l - Quirky, quiet & peaceful, nice touch by owner providing home made scones & jam Key to actual room proved difficult and took quite a few goes to open door. At one point we couldn’t get in but owners were out at the time so couldn’t help. We managed eventually. Hairdryer melted when turned on, owner quickly replaced so all ok.
- Lagarde (9/5): - Le confort, les petites attentions ( scones et confitures fait maison et délicieux).
- Jane (9/5): So good! - Nice having kitchen facilities and very well stocked with everything you would need. So many lovely touches- scones and cream, even supplied us with ice for a drink in nice outside seating area. Everything and more supplies in bathroom.
- Barry (10/5): Perfect rural retreat - Whilst I was working remotely in the mornings, my daughter came with me so we explored the local area. We felt like we didn't have enough time so will definitely return to Barrow Harbour Studio. The room was absolutely perfect for us to spend a few days together in a beautiful location. The conservatory area is small but had all we needed - fridge, microwave, hotplate etc though other than breakfast we ate out mostly. The bedroom is much larger than the photos give justice - the beds were incredibly comfortable. It was absolutely spotless. The location is breathtaking and a real highlight is the beach that is close by (Poulgorm Beach) - unfortunately we did not get a chance to swim there due to weather and hightide but if you get a chance make sure you find it. The WiFi was perfect for me to work though there is no phone cover so calls need to be on Whatsapp / Teams if you are planning to work. The host left homemade scones and blackberry jam which was lovely. I genuinely cannot understand the comments in the few negative reviews - this place is absolute perfection! We loved everything - but just a couple of tips for travellers - You need a car. Not everything will be open in the local village early in the week, stop off in Tralee on the way if you plan to eat in the property to get provisions, though the Centre in Ardfert is well stocked and open until 10pm.
- Anonymous (7/5): Perfect location and a good base to visit many places -
- David (10/5): The cottage was well setup, comfortable & eaceful with Nice hosts. - Great Setup, Peaceful, Nice hosts, comfortable. -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - The studio apartment was excellent. The bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen/veranda were very well put together, well equipped, nicely decorated, comfortable. We highly recommend this lodging and would definitely stay here again if we were to visit this region again. Navigating by using the Eircode in Google Maps was feasible, but the small, winding roads to get to Sharon and Mike's house might be challenging for anyone unaccustomed to driving in Ireland.
- Ray (10/5): Great home from home - Cosy and very well equipped. Lovely seating area outside.
- Anne (10/5): Charming, cosy and comfortable. - Sharon and Mike (and Molly) were lovely hosts. Our stay was cosy and comfortable and included some homemade treats by Sharon. Great view from the back terrace. We took a taxi from Tralee as there is no bus route and we didn’t have a car. However it was a great walk from the apt. to Fenit and the bay and then again in the evening to a nice dinner at the nearby golf club. Nothing
- Annamarie (10/5): Exceptional - Location and the accommodation. Very lovely couple. Highly recommend.
- Olga (8/5): Very good -

- Jane (1/5): Bad - I will be contacting booking.com to discuss my stay at this property

- Christine (10/5): An idyllic place to stay - A lovely well equipped, self contained apartment by a picturesque, peaceful harbour. The hosts Sharon and Mike pay particular attention to making you feel welcome with home baked goodies.
There is a detailed folder with places of interest to visit, excellent restaurants to eat at etc. They are on hand to assist with any requirements and give you privacy to enjoy a relaxing stay.
Very comfortable bed and a clean modern bathroom. We loved our time at Barrow Harbour Studio apartment.
- Shona (1/5): SLUG INFESTED WORST ACCOMODATION EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. "TRAUMATIC!" - I arrived in the dark, elderly owners (60 + 80yrs) having gone to bed. I saw a small bunch of garden flowers and thought that a nice touch but, looking around, I was horrified to see the bedroom carpet glistening with snail trails... From there it went ALL downhill until I couldn't stand the SLUG INFESTATION and left before my full stay. The owner was rude and refused to refund me keeping full payment (even despite booking.com taking my side and trying to get a refund). A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE 1. Every night in the dark huge slugs came out to be "everywhere", on the floor, walls and even the bed. (I put my hand on one on the bed and squashed another under my bare foot when I crossed the bedroom to go to the bathroom). The owner's husband (80yrs?) was told by his wife to "clean my room again" (but he had been unwell, it was an incredibly hot day and I feared for his health. Still, I moved my stuff out so he could do what she wanted). Slugs are not really active by day but I was told nothing now remained. However, I was surprised to be told I must have brought them in with me or a previous guest had. Or, the owners dog or rescue cats had brought them in. What I then found out was that the heavy bed was not turned over so again, I found them - under the bed and also under a bedroom cabinet. Horrifically I also found one on the bed in a yoghurt cartoon I had laid down whilst moving furniture trying to find and evict them all. In addition, despite the heat, I was told NOT to open the bedroom windows as the rescue cat would jump through into the property. The 3hrs of night time howling by the cat let me know it definitely wanted in. The nighttime/4am smoking (at my window/beside the bathroom and owner's adjoining kitchen door) it was also suffocating as the smoke strongly came into the property and made me cough, as did the perfume the owner sprayed to mask the damp (asthma trigger) and soiled bed linen. 80 yr old husband obviously had insomnia - his night time wanderings seen him wake, go of a walk/for a smoke and so, wake or disturb the cat who howled but was not let in. EXHAUSTED, I slept in my car & asked for a refund. But, for my health and safety, I had to leave without one (because of the truly disturbing behaviour of the wife, following after me shouting abuse).
- Shane (10/5): 100% would recommend great private country spot with great value for money - Property was great, booked it for my parents and they loved the location found it very peaceful and relaxing Nothing
- Magnani (10/5): A beautiful place
The room was amazing, every piece inside the room is choosen with love, - The room is amazing, warm and comfortable.
Sharon and Mike are great host.
There is also a kitchen full of things to have a special breakfast here or a dinner if you want to cook. One of the best places I ever stayed
- Aj (10/5): Perfect stay, didnt want to leave - Wonderful accommodation. Very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful garden. The hosts were very friendly and had good recommendations. We enjoyed visiting with thier sweet dog, Molly.
- Monica (10/5): Would LOVE to come back. A GEM! - It was perfect in every sense. We had a wonderful time and always felt safe and comfortable. The apartment was clean and decorated with lots of care to detail, from the flowers to the furniture. Sharon and Mike were wonderful hosts and their dog was just adorable and friendly. The location was great, but you need a car. We loved everything. We just wished there were shelves or drawers for our clothes because there were only hanging options and we didn’t have anything to hang 🙈 other than towels and rain jackets 😂
- Wigan (10/5): Exceptional - The location was so remote and yet easily accessible, it was ideal... peaceful and pretty. The accommodation is very cute and surprisingly spacious with the kitchen created in a conservatory so that the bed sitting room stays uncluttered and pretty. And finally the host, just lovely, so attentive and yet unintrusive and clearly a fabulous gardener. Wished we'd had more time and the weather to sit out and enjoy it. There wasn't really anything we didn't like but a constructive suggestion might be to install a mirror opposite the gateway so you can leave without playing Russian roulette with the bonkers golfers charging past to the nearby Tralee Golf club.
- Anke (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful place and a very nice apartment. We will come back.
- Amanda (10/5): A beautifully appointed bijou studio in very scenic surroundings. - In a beautiful location close to the estuary, a small but very comfy and spotless studio, surrounded by flowers. I really appreciated the little treats and special: homemade jam and barmbrack on arrival. Thank you Mike and Sharon. Nothing, a happy customer.
- Riki (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing stay and one of our favourite stops so far. Sharon and Mike were fantastic hosts who made us feel so welcome and gave us heaps of local tips. Apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Location was close to heaps of beaches which we took full advantages of. Would definitely stay here again.
- Rebecca (10/5): Fantastic stay - Absolutely beautiful home and a super stay ..very clean and extremely comfortable beds ..and we can’t forget the little gem molly who came to visit each morning .the garden and grounds of this house are spectacular not to mention the view ...all the little touches make this apartment fantastic ..we had fresh home made scones and jam on arrival and a treat basket for our smallie which she was delighted with ..all in all a fabulous stay with lovely owners ..we will absolutely be back again
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Emily (10/5): Perfect, apartment with a fully equipped little kitchenette. Lovely homemade cake from the host. -
- Eve (7/5): Unique place to stay - Comfortable
Good hot shower
- Ritchie (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Huggins (9/5): Superb - Nicely situated and presented
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (8/5): Sharon was very helpful. - No breakfast Should be for people who have a car, we did not. Made it very dificult to get food.
- Becky (10/5): A place we hated to leave. - The little apartment is so nice. The kitchen is a sun room, windows all around. The hosts were more than wonderful. They did everything possible to make our stay great. The gardens are beautiful. The roads aren't marked. We had to use navigation to get around, even though Sharon drew is maps. Might just be us though.
- Michael (4/5): Last choice - We think the property is substandard and the least of all properties we have booked through Booking.com.
It was an old property with a very small room and very small bathroom. There was no television.
An add-on glass enclosed sunroom served as the unheated kitchen.
- Mary (9/5): Thank You Sharon and Michael, we really enjoyed our time in beautiful Kerry. -
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional and such a lovely couple and location is perfect -
- Nidhish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Speight (10/5): we had a lovely stay. Thanks - Beautiful little apartment in a picturesque village. Perfect for touring the county and retreating to the beach. Everything was lovely.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Moira (9/5): Superb - It had everything we needed & the home made brack & scones, milk, butter & raspberry jam left for us by the hosts was a lovely touch.as was the tea & coffee.
WiFi was excellent and the area is lovely & quiet but excellent restaurants ,bars and cafes were easily reached. Perhaps a lighter duvet, though that is a very personal preference. Also blackout curtains would be nice. But these are only small suggestions.
