• Alessandra (9/5): Overall, a strong reccomend - Loved it. Location: A little bit out of the way but 10 minutes from the temples and well worth travelling the distance. The result is a view to die for over hills and down to the sea The amenities: great pool and sunbathing area, brilliant garden, great room with basic but functional kitchen and nice bathroom with shower. The decor: Beautifully designed place with privacy assured. Fantastic view and fabulous amenities. The house is designed with excellent care and a true design aesthetic which makes it picture perfect at every turn. It is not a hotel, but the breakfast is provided and is great. Overall- strongly recommend. Loved it. Location: A little bit out of the way but 10 minutes from the temples and well worth travelling the distance. The result is a view to die for over hills and down to A couple of things to be mindful of: - the breakfast: it was delicious, generous and lovingly presented, however they don't ask what you would like, so while it was perfect for us, if a bit too generous, I suspect some people would struggle if they have specific dietary requirements. - breakfast timing is after 9:00-9:30 only and the preference is that you are packed up and car loaded before breakfast. Again, not a problem for us, but may be limiting for some. -the bathroom/ shower is open to view from the kitchen so if travelling with a friend, it requires coordination as there is no blind. - I wish they would feed the cats who are adorable, but they are so ravenous they were eating bread and a couple are very young
• KRUPPS (9/5): splendide lieu de residence en sicile, non hotelier, de luxe pour visiter le sud de la sicile - Ce n'est pas un hôtel ++ cadre exceptionnel, l'exclusivité du lieu, son caractère authentique dans la nature sicilienne avec une vue exceptionnelle sur les montagnes et la mer parf de grandes baies vitrées, le calme et gentillesse de nos hôtes ++, confort de la chambre, spacieuse, connexion wifi, qualité de la literie, qualité du sommeil, qualité du petit déjeuner soigné et raffiné, deux piscines à débordement, dont une en rooftop, décoration tendance béton bois acier Le manque de confidentialité de la douche (vitre mal placée), les cameras partout (gênant), le manque de lumière de chevet, odeur de béton dans la chambre. La déco et le concept peuvent surprendre (dalles béton brutes au plafond) notamment pas de miroir devant le lavabo de la salle de bain. Accès difficile (chemin caillouteux) mais facile à trouver par GPS. Ces petits détails font baisser le rapport qualité prix..
• Emily (10/5): What a dreamy getaway location! - Stunning views (rhe living rooftop is spectacular!), gorgeous design details, plus darling puppies, kittens, and chickens. Buahjar made an excellent home base to visit Valle dei Templi, Punta Bianca, and the ancestral hometown of my friend. It was especially great for two couples staying in two different parts of the property, to visit and dine together but also have some space. The Sicilian breakfast in courses was super-delicious, and the hosts went out of their way to make sure we had a square (and wonderful) meal when we arrived during a holiday when markets were closed. We can't wait to visit again when it's swimming season! nothing.

• Terra (10/5): Experience of a lifetime! - It is heaven on earth - a true paradise. The view is unbelievable and it is so relaxing. If you’re into architecture, this place can be appreciated for its thoughtful decor letting nature be the colourful backdrop. The hosts, Emmanuel and Andrea, make you feel very welcome and they are eager to make this an incredible experience. The bed and pillows are very comfortable allowing you to enjoy restful sleeps - then waken to the most awesome view. Emmanuel goes out of his way to make breakfast look like it’s out of a magazine. The way he presents the food is amazing and you can see him pluck the flowers right outside your room. Breakfasts are flavourful and the right amount to get you started for your day. The olive oil used is from the land and you get to taste some of the homemade preserves and cookies made by Andrea’s partner. Emmanuel is also very helpful and ensures you are not left to want anything else. We wanted to take him home with us! :) It truly was the experience of a lifetime! Thank you Emmanuel (and Andrea). We will never forget our time there. P.S. the bonus (as others have mentioned) is that there are two friendly pups who wander the property. That we couldn’t take it (and Emmanuel) with us! :)
• Pia (8/5): Very good - The staff were very friendly, especially Emanuel, who was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was good, though I felt there could have been a bit more variety. The view was absolutely beautiful, and there were two super friendly dogs around, which added a really nice touch to the stay. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, but in my opinion, the price is a bit too high for what you get—it feels slightly overpriced. We spent almost an hour trying to find the hotel. There were no clear signs or directions on the way, which was definitely a downside. To make things worse, I had no signal or internet, so I couldn’t even check the map properly. It would really help if there were signs along the road to guide guests And the pool is not heated
• Hannah (10/5): Stunning property that offers a true escape! - If you're looking to escape in beautiful and comfortable surroundings, this is the perfect place for you. Andrea was a very welcoming host! Emmanuel provided us with everything we needed while we were there, the breakfast was wonderful and we received brilliant recommendations on where to eat and drink. We had dinner on site one evening, which we booked in advance. Everything was beautifully prepared and delicious. We left feeling so relaxed! It is worth noting that the property is not a hotel, it is more like a Bed and Breakfast (in amazing surroundings, with a beautiful private pool!) A car is essential to get around.
• Adrien (10/5): Exceptional - Buahjar is a special place—unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before. The space is modern, beautifully designed, and surrounded by stunning nature, and you can tell Andrea, the homeowner, put so much love into it. Emanuel, our host, was amazing—he was super helpful and kind without ever being intrusive. His breakfast spreads were incredible—a work of art, honestly. We stayed in the Levante suite, which felt very private with our own pool. The bed, pillows, and linens were top-notch, and thoughtful touches like beach towels and refreshments were appreciated. It’s super close to the Valley of the Temples and other sights, but honestly, you’ll never want to leave Buahjar. Can't forget to mention Andrea's adorable dogs! It was the perfect way to kick off our Sicily trip, leaving us feeling relaxed and ready for the rest of the journey.
• Zita (9/5): Great stay if you feel like relaxing and taking time on your own. - The private pool is great. You can hang there all Day and have a great time. We were all by ourselves. Interior is very tasteful and you have all the things you need. Emmanuel was great. He was very kind and polite and made breakfast every day. The apartment is quite secluded. You need to take a bumpy dirt road to get there.

• Natcha (10/5): Sicilian dream - It's a very unique experience. The accommodation is an idyllic modern vila situated on the top of the hill among olive groves overlooking 360-degree panoramic view. The architecture, interior and landscaping is truly the work of art. Andrea, the owner, is very warm and welcoming. It's a place that transports you from the reality to the Sicilain dream. We love every minute in Buahjar and couldn't recommend it enough. The shower area should have small area to put toiletries, we have to put it on the floor while taking a bath. But it's very minor issue comparing to overall amazing experience.

• Shurtleff (10/5): Fabulous, Relaxing Stay at Buahjar! - Buahjar was an absolutely incredible stay and we can’t wait to return. It was so good that we ALMOST want to keep it as our own little secret. The property is beautiful and very relaxing. We loved the upstairs pool area to take in the sunsets, the expansive grounds to walk down to the koi pond and olive trees, and the comfortable amenities in our private space. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. It was a fabulous stay and everything was perfection.
