Guest Reviews
- Williams (8/5): -
- Mellissa (8/5): - The property and location was amazing and the house was beautifully set out everything you needed and nice and cozy. I’m not sure if I missed in the description, but the third bedroom is a fair distance from the main property no good for small children. There was no proper heating and no television in the room.
- Kimika (9/5): We looked it it was close to my mums house and to the pub for dinner on Good Friday - The games room and the heating The doors were all locked with keys so you had to walk around as it was painful unlocking them
- Clayton (6/5): -
- Petts (10/5): - Lovely home - clean and tidy. Also heated up nicely (kept us nice and warm - we were so comfy) The road is quite dark at night - drive slowly so you dont miss the driveway.
- Tessa (10/5): Great weekend getaway - The house was perfect for me and my family. We loved the games room and great location - 100 metres from town.
- Marta (8/5): -
- Lokesh (10/5): it was like comfy home away from home - location and ambience nothing
- Maggie (9/5): Beautiful place to stay with a group of friends, spacious living and outdoor areas, comfy beds and very easy to access l - We loved how gorgeous the house was, it was spacious enough and the outdoor deck was a great place to enjoy the sunshine. Games room a lovely addition! Driveway was a bit steep and having second toilet downstairs wasn’t ideal - but didn’t take away from the trip.
- Jessica (10/5): - Escape from the city and step into the great outdoors. Comfortable and prime location to discover gardens and little local towns
- Harrison (10/5): - A great location near amazing places to have breakfast (Tea Rooms). Also enjoyed the nature that surrounds the property The steep driveway was an issue for the van but that is of no fault to the owner. There is a way to park out front which is what we did.
- Mandi (7/5): - Location
- Mia (10/5): Amazing. Highly recommend - Loved the facilities and how gorgeous it was Nothing
- Jo (9/5): -
- Graeme (7/5): Good location and value for money, had everything that we needed. - Plenty of room and a good location The living areas did not have window coverings which is not ideal of a cold dark winter's night also car lights from the road shone in though the kitchen window, window furnishings would make it nice and cosey!
- Michelle (7/5): We had a pleasurable stay however I felt the communication regarding the coffee machine bordering on patronising as I ha - Well located, nature surrounds. Comfortable beds. Difficulty getting electric blankets plugged in, required pulling bed and bed head out to locate power point, coffee machine inoperable, half roll of toilet paper available, bins overflowing from previous guests, difficulty opening instructions to access due to link taking me to Microsoft app that I didn’t have.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - House was beautiful inside and out. Location was great for access to local wedding venue, cafes etc. I liked everything.
- O'brien (9/5): Great little cottage in Kallista - Well positioned character house in a pretty location, very comfortable with good facilities. The heating worked well as we were there in winter, plus electric blankets on the beds. Ideal for us as 2 sisters wanting a bedroom each, but also good for 2 couples or family with older kids. A teenager would love the 3rd bedroom at the bottom of the garden! Great shops and cafes a short walk away and public transport if you don't have a car. The driveway is challenging to get in and out of, but that's common in the hills. Took us a while to figure out where the washing machine and dryer are, down in the games room. The doors in the main bedroom were draughty as one door is a bit warped and the gutters outside need clearing of vegetation. A coat rack inside would be useful.
- Jacqueline (3/5): The property is not as it seems in the photos-don’t be fooled to think it’s clean and bright! - Location It is described as 3 bedrooms but no indication the 3bedroom is in a cabin quite separate and some distance from the main building. There is no toilet in this cabin, just a sofa bed and some kitchen facilities. The toilet is up a steep slope which is poorly lit at night. The sofa bed would have been fine for the children to sleep in but due to the cabin being so far from the main building 2 adults had sleep there instead; they spent the night rolling into each other as the bed was not supportive at all.
The sink in the kitchen had a leak, obvs for some time as the laminate in the cupboard had split and was mouldy. We did get a plumber in eventually but he replaced the tap which was not the issue so had to return. I could say so much more but there isn’t space on this comment box
- Sue (5/5): Despite the these shortcomings, we had an amazing time visiting the surrounding areas. - Location and decor Although prior information explained the access to the house, in reality we found it to be worse than expected.
Main road noisey and access and exit quite dangerous.
Front parking area very awkward.
Third bedroom too far away from bathroom facility through garden at night and pullout sofa not adequate. We didn’t even use this room.
Games room, deck and deck furniture need a good cleaning.
Two rolls of Toilet paper not enough.
Coffee pod machine not working and main shower tiled floor very slippery. Sorry to say quite disappointed overall.
- Madison (10/5): Exceptional - Easy access, great service with prompt replies, great location. Sunlight in the second bedroom wasn’t ideal- thankfully we had eye masks.
- Teresa (7/5): Overall our stay was relaxing and enjoyable once we got things sorted. - Bright and airy, location was fantastic. When you arrived at the front door it was dirty and messy but just needed a sweep.
Same for the back outdoor area, if it had been a lovely day to eat outside we would have had to clean the table, chairs and sweep the deck first.
We had to wash the cutlery and crockery before we used them as they felt, not clean and finding as filthy knife in the drawer turned us off.
- Alana (6/5): Pleasant surrounds, but as we could not use the third bedroom was slightly cramped for our needs. - Location is great. Waking distance to shops and tea rooms. The third bedroom was a granny flat down the bottom of the garden. It did not have an attached ensuite. Not safe to stay in the third bedroom, especially when raining, as the steps were very steep and slippery and you would need to climb to reach the toilet in the middle of the night. Was not very practical. The second bedroom has a skylight so very bright at 6am and during the day so difficult if travelling with small children for naps etc. unfortunately when we stayed the internet was down for a couple of days so no tv or phone until we drove outside of Kallista. Not necessarily the fault of the accomodation but did make the stay more inconvenient. In the end we cut our stay short for a good night rest at home.
- Mark (9/5): Great location comfortable stay - Open plan
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Couldn’t find a broom to sweep up before we left
- Christine (7/5): A wonderful location that created a warm ambience for our family weekend away - The location was great
The heating was fantastic
Great activities and beautiful surroundings
Loved the old bath The third bedroom was separate to the main living space and the second toilet.
The second toilet was not part of the main house
The dishes were left in the dishwasher still wet
The mats needs a good clean
- Peter (9/5): An enjoyable winter family escape - Location, central heating and comfy beds. Great size kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom which were very clean. Kid's zone downstairs was perfect. Granny flat is best for teenage/older kids or extended family. No kitchen hot water. Only 1 black tea bag supplied. No BBQ or dry wood for outside firepit.
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing - Location Lack of cleanliness
Overating the facilities ie 2 bathroom ie 2nd bathroom outside of main house. No hot water in kitchen, insufficient towels and no bath mat. Shower needed good clean. Kitchen cookware and glasses filthy which we washed before use.Rubbish bins full from previous tenants, etc.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (10/5): Was great stay would def stay again beautiful house - Easy access with codes Room being not attached…… my fault though didn’t read small print
- Keely (8/5): Very good -
