Guest Reviews
- sylvia (7/5): Peace and quiet - Very quiet neighborhood. Backyard just as needed in the heatwave weekend. Home could sleep 5 but only 2 mugs, crockery was lacking. No instructions to work cooker. Grandson would like some local take away menus.lol
- ANTONIO (8/5): -
- MrTWiltshire (5/5): its just about ok, you get what you pay for. - Property is at a good location if you drive, about 10-15 mins drive to reach city centre. Public transport no idea. On site parking and quite neighbourhood. pin access to lock box was not sent to me in time, sitting in the driveway trying to make calls while my kid is desperate for the toilet is not a good start.
Property is clean but dated, beds mattrasses are not comfy, way to soft and one bedroom has the boiler in it which makes all kinds of noise when running so kept waking me up.
Small living room doesn't have a proper coffee table instead some weird very low 3 tiered slabs. Kitchen only has 3 high chairs with tiny bar desk running by the wall so nowhere to sit around the table and eat together or play a board game together comfortably.
Single bed duvet had a size smaller cover on it making it curl up so had to take it off to sleep properly. Bathroom window has a broken handle and you can only close it from the outside by pushing it in so its sort of closed but coldest room in the house due to that, not great when having to shower.
Heating is turned on by you on arrival which means the house sits at 14 degree on arrival, takes about 3-4 hours to reach 20 so we sat around in our jackets on until it was warm enough.
- Samuel (8/5): -
- ALAN (6/5): - Location. Bathroom,
Window had no handle to open,
No ventalation,
No mirror,
Could not shave properly,
Shower not as it should be,
Could not get behind screen,as hose not long enough to reach.
Toilet seat not attached securely.
Kirchen.
Oven had only one shelf,
Could not cook multilple food, not enough room in one roasting tin.
Not enough tea mugs for just two of us,
Family would struggle to all have a drink.
Patio doors, could not see through the glass to the garden, shame as there is a palm tree.
No outside furniture,chair or table.
Lounge,
Could not control heating from thermostat,
Need to turn boiler off and on for heating, but plenty of hot water.
One couch to low for us,could not get up from it,
But could be ok for kids.
Tv,is to high on tall cuboard, difficult to view comfortably, lower stand would be better.
Centre table not fit for purpose,
Could do with normal coffee table.

- Alison (6/5): Any messages about concerns or queries were answered and sorted very promptly. Accommodation was basic , clean and very - Location was great. Near Beeston railway station . Quiet and felt safe. Car could be parked on the driveway
Appliances on the kitchen new and clean Could not work out the heating programmes - hence either too cold with no heating or too hot
Oven off at the wall and no instructions
Could not ventilate bathroom
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - Very clean. Ideal place to stay with family
- Clifford (8/5): Very good -
- Maxine (8/5): Clean and comfortable for a short stay - Clean and tidy. Neighbours were friendly. Owner was very responsive to messages. We were a group of 6 ( two families of 3) and could have done with more crockery ie. Teacups etc.
the advert stated a sofa bed in the lounge, however there were 2 sofas, neither pulled out into a bed. It was a comfy sofa to sleep on !
- Colin (6/5): It did what we needed it for - Clean and beds comfortable. Did what we required of it There was only one towel which was a bit strange. The main shower did not work . The
Mixer shower was adequate but it would have been nicer to know that at the start. Electrics kept tripping when the cooker was on
- Dennis (7/5): We had pleasant stay for our 3 nights. If available will be on our ‘list’ for future visits. Thank-you - Location good for our access to nearby city centre. Quiet. Local store close by, easy walk. Off-road parking space. Wifi, electric, smart tv’s upstairs & down. Easy to clean after. Sufficient lighting, & easy to use heating if needed. Fast responses from owner when messaged. Son happy with his bedroom:). Neighbour pleasant when we met:) Stairs rather narrow ‘going’ on the steps (top step misleadingly bigger); handrail top quarter not easy to use/grasp especially for us older folks! (Might suggest fitting additional -removable - short length on other side at top?); loo is downstairs. All other items trivial: Doorlock to garden loose/stuck, avoided our making use of outdoor space in sun. Handle on bathroom window missing & no mirror (maybe inner door of unit?). Low cutlery irons (just did us for 3). Only 1 bed made up, & low supply of duvet covers for others? Remember to bring milk, eggs & bread for arrival (we didn’t!). Wife suggests labelling kitchen doors with contents, & spare bin bag? Stairs may be a little ‘dodgy’ or awkward for less mobile persons but okay for normally active
- Helen (9/5): Comfortable house - Calmhaven is a 3 bed, 1 bathroom semi in a quiet residential area. The beds were very comfortable and all bedding and towels were supplied. The house is a short walk from the canal and river and there is a regular bus service into Nottingham. The host was very approachable and we would stay here again. I was a bit confused about what the property was going to be like as it was described as an apartment and I think it said only one bedroom with 5 beds.
- Lorraine (7/5): Would Stay Again If Changes Were Made. - The location was good, close to the bus stop and for a walk by the canal.
The house was warm once it was explained to us how to put the heating on.
Plenty of hot water. Owner gave us the wrong code for the key safe and took an hour to respond to my my phone calls and messages.
No table in the kitchen, no dining table, just a small breakfast bar against the wall.
Very limited amount of cutlery.
Bathroom light isn't easy to use without precise instructions from the owner, needs replacing as mentioned by a previous guest.
No mirror in the bathroom.
Some of the facilities listed for this property aren't correct.
- Ruth (7/5): Comfortable, clean, and modern. - Great quiet location. No disturbance from neighbours.
Whole property was very clean, and well decorated.
Hosts were very responsive to questions, and helpful in bringing extra towels when requested.
Enough beds, and very comfortable. Enough sofas for everyone. House was really cold when we arrived, and no available instructions on how to sort it out. (we managed, eventually)
Also no instructions for the oven (found them online)
Bathroom light switch wouldn't stay on (we hung a saucepan from it to sort that out!).
A folder of instructions/ advice on waste & recycling/ local things to see and visit / local restaurants & shops would be helpful.
- Sandra (8/5): Value for money accommodation - Good location, parking lot and comfortable beds Improvement: kitchen utensils.
- Ravi (9/5): Superb - Quiet and convenient location close to the university and beaston town centre.
Clean and comfortable 3 bedroom place for families. Would have liked some more tea bags and perhaps some fresh milk and sugar for a nice cup of tea in the morning
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money, spacious and clean
- Alice (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Jaiden (10/5): Even better than expected - Absolutely everything! It was clean and comfortable with everything you might need. The host was also super easy to contact.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - Location was great for our sporting events
- Irina (9/5): Superb - A quiet residential area with easy access to local amenities and supermarkets. A recently redecorated property. Very clean. A nice well-equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. TVs in every room. Some useful extras supplied, e.g. shampoo, water, tea. Parking on the driveway.
Communications with host before and after quick and easy. The bathroom was downstairs.
