Guest Reviews
- Asakundwi (1/5): Bad experience - Just the calmness of nature A lot, there was poor customer service, speed of service was terrible took time in responding to our needs, gas wasn't working properly... Neither were the batteries for hot water.... We were not attended to properly. They were not even friendly.

- RiaanvdB (9/5): Welcoming, relaxing and enjoyable stay in the kloof :-) - Loved the location. Easier accessible with a SUV than a car. No dislikes
- Sevanah (9/5): - The entire facility was amazing. I loved the place! The road was a bit hectic, but it was due to the weather and I drive a Kwid so it was a bit unpleasant. But overall it was an amazing experience
- Tshidi (10/5): Perfect getaway place - Everything about the place was perfect. I loved the tranquility
- Thabo (1/5): i didnt enjoy - location is not but should have alerted us to use big car like bakkie. the road is not good for small cars. a behaviour of the lady who received us. She was rude over the phone, forcing me to speed because she is closing the lodge
- Nico (10/5): - Absolutely great place to stay. Safe ; beautiful views. Room was clean. Beds were comfy. Ill def recommend Nothing
- Carey (10/5): Owner was warm and welcoming and explained everything that it made us feel at home and no away on a - The location is beautiful, private and quiet. Well stocked with everything a self catering unit should have to enable one to make a scrumptious meal. There was nothing that we did not like.

- DOLLY (10/5): - THE VIEW,VERY QUITE EVERYTHING WAS FINE
- Nomathamsanqa (5/5): Very disappointed - I needed a break so the privacy was nice. The road needs maintenance , the bed was very uncomfortable, aircon was not working and water pressure in the shower kept on adjusting itself.
- Tlakusani Sizwe (8/5): - The nature. It's very cool, no mosquito 🦟 The distance from the tar road, is one way and uncomfortable. It needs 4×4 types of cars
- Koortzen (8/5): - Very cosy

- Maxine (9/5): - The cleanliness and the fact that it is far away from the road....all you can hear the whole night is the sound of the Waterfall nearby....so awesome.. the most peaceful place i have ever been. The road is tricky during the rainy season and next time I will use my SUV. I will surely return.
- Madigoe (10/5): -
- Lishendran (7/5): - Our host Simone was very attentive and accommodating and helped making sure all our needs were met.
- UNA (10/5): Perfect! - The host was extremely helpful and friendly. The view is breathtaking. The place was clean and well equipped. You can see her love for the place in the detail. Love everything!

- Mabuya (9/5): Lost Trail - The location is fantastic, you are well nestled in the forest and the only thing you hear is running water and the forest. The units are well equipped, and had everything we needed. We got lost onto a different road which was extremely bad. It effectively took 2 hours out of our time to eventually get on the right track.
The host is aware that there is an issue with Waze sending people out the wrong route, and I felt she could have been proactive and gave a warning to waze users so they don't find themselves in that mess - especially guests like us who traveled in a low car.
The other issue was the fact it was so hot and the aircon was not working. Not sure of it was the humidity or maneuvering the lost trail in the peak of direct sunlight which caused us to feel hot, but the lack of air conditioning was I think I big health risk as we were sweating. I raised it with the host, who promptly provided us with a fan which was of great use. Again, I felt she could have been alot more proactive to have had the fan there.
The idea was to always leave for dinner, we didn't stay much during the late afternoon so was unsure how long the heat persisted for.
By the time we came back later that evening, it was alot cooler. For such a beautiful place, I am sad we could not experience it longer.
Besides my criticism, I would advocate for a bigger signage as it is easy to miss the current one.
- makwati (6/5): Soso - Scenery Hot water not enough
- Danelle (9/5): Good experience - Private, cabin had everything needed and in good working condition. Road was little wet in rainy season, someone with small car may feel challenged.
- Emmanuel (9/5): Great view in a cozy log cabin - It was a quaint log cabin with a great view of the valley. It had many amenities and was reasonably spacious. The check-in was easy enough, and the road was good enough to reach with a city car. There are many pots and pans and other however a little cooking oil would have been nice as no one travels with cooking oil.
There was damp on the ceiling.
- Gloria (10/5): Trenquality - Everything
- Peter (10/5): Great - Beautiful location. Quiet
- Elna (10/5): A beautiful area - The space has been well planned. We loved the feeling of being in a forest. Each wooden chalet is a good distance away from the others, and we were not aware of other guests. Nothing
- Geoffrey (10/5): We loved the peace and quite. The ability to walk in peace among the samongo monkey & Birding - Small and quite yet everything is there Please don't change
- Leshabane (9/5): It was a great the only problem is the road I really enjoyed - The place was clean and quite Traditional Morden
- Norman (1/5): The manager she is rude and racist - Non Attitude of the staff
- Friedel (10/5): -
- Sebastiaan (9/5): Rustig gelegen met mooi uitzicht - Het uitzicht en de rust.
- Linda (7/5): - The location The dirt road is a challenge for small vehicles. I wouldn't want to travel that road at night
- makgato (10/5): Very good place with friendly staff and a good price.... I really liked it - The place is quiet, unique, clean, friendly staff, TV connection. Because u need to use ur details to watch Netflix and show max.
- ELELWANI (10/5): - The lodge is situated in a very quiet location. Cottages are far apart which gives everyone enough privacy. The outside space for chilling was very great. If you love nature, Whispering Creek is the place to visit. Bed very comfortable. Hot showers. I felt home away from home. Staff very welcomming and friendly. There is nothong i did not like.
- Jutta (7/5): -
- Rochoy (10/5): - The location and cabins N/A
- Pontsho (10/5): My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at the accommodation. We really felt at home - The place is really nice and the host is 15/10 good at customer service. She made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. - Nicole (10/5): A romantic little getaway - It’s a super cute little cabin in the mountains. The owner made sure we received a good description how to get there although we had booked on an extremely short note. The outdoor kitchen was very well equipped and a really nice surprise. I personally think that a queen size bed shouldn’t be considered a double bed as it’s really too small for two adults, but it seems to be quite common in South Africa.
- Matimu (10/5): - The location and the bed The Fridge
- Katlego (10/5): Amazing, well deserved - Chris is such a good host Nothing
- Leon (5/5): -
- Maila (9/5): Superb -

- Jason (10/5): A hidden gem! - This accommodation is truly outstanding. Nestled in the mountains of the Magoebaskloof Pass, the scenery is not only idyllic but also remarkably tranquil. Combined with the warm, attentive, and genuinely caring hosts, you can be assured that your stay will exceed expectations in every way.
- Botshelo (10/5): Birthday well spent in the misty Mountains - The host is so attentive, friendly and always there if you need anything.
The area is serene if you want a solace spot this is it for you. We got a bit lost as there is no signs with the name of the lodge. But the owner quickly sorted it out for us.
- Van (9/5): Superb -
- Khaya (7/5): Good -
- Gladys (10/5): I enjoyed my stay - Its clean and peaceful Nothing
- Rialivhuwa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shongwe (8/5): Home away from home - The bushy environment peaceful and refreshing. Everything in the cabin was clean, and the bed so comfortable. We will definitely call again. There was no disappointment, Simone and her father were super. They made sure everything we needed ,we got.
- Hurter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pranesh (8/5): Friendly host and great price point makes this the perfect short stay for a solo traveler - The Mountain lodge is in a great location and is easy to get to off the R71. Spacious apartment and comfortable facilities Apartment surrounded by very dense bamboo forest that made it dark and almost foreboding
- Candice (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome experience. Thank you
- Johandri (7/5): Good - Dit het gereen wat die pad moeilik gemaak het om te ry. Klein karretjie het bietjie gegly.
- Charmaine (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything about that place,my spouse had a great birthday there and we are definitely coming back again
- Hester (9/5): Fantasy world - Although the road to the location was a bit rough due to recent rains, it only added to the adventure and the feel of being in a fantasy world. The cabins, and especially the cute outdoor kitchen, were very well equipped with anything you can possibly think you'll need.
- Tebogo (10/5): The near to heaven peacefulness ❤️ - Simone is very warm .She took it upon herself to come fetch us when we got lost to the location. I would definitely encourage anyone to visit this peaceful place.Very private and quite.❤️ Nothing negative. We would definitely return.
- M (7/5): Good -
- Tsholofelo (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!
- Ronel (8/5): Well-equipped, clean overnight stay with friendly service - Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area. Well-equipped kitchen. Clean and spacious. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Gas and wood/charcoal barbeques available. Coffee and tea were available which was a nice addition. Very close to Haenertsburg although the 1.4km gravel road to the property is currently quite bumpy due to heavy rains. The hostess provided a location pin but there is no signage yet - will still be arranged but nerve-wrecking if you don't know where you are going. The family room is fantastic but be warned that there is a steep flight of stairs / long-stretch of stairs for those with mobility difficulties.
- Marcusjohn (8/5): Nice place in the bush - Very nice place in the bush. You can only reach this place with a proper 4x4. Cottages are very well equipped, clean and everything is new. Friendly host.
- Lutendo (10/5): Best stay in 2025 - The place is so quiet with breathtaking scenery. I wished I could stay for a week because I felt at peace. The road is slippery when it rains, and it is good for cars (SUVs and Bakkies) with good ground clearance. Small cars can make it but it needs an experienced driver.
