• Alister (6/5): Nice room, don’t count on a good night sleep unless you bring industrial earplugs - Good well-equipped room with kitchen equipment, water chiller and was generally a nice room. Owner wasn’t there, she didn’t have any interest in helping us. We were in Rm 7 on the end and the road noise was insanely loud, we asked to be moved but was told it wasn’t possible in a grumpy manner, a rooster woke us up all the time during the night on the premises, the place doesn’t offer food, so I can’t see why chickens are even there on the property? The building work out the back is still ongoing and access to the beach is not possible and the sand has gone due to a sea defence wall being built.

• Tifany (5/5): Ok depending on the period - Good equipment in the room. I did not stay at this place. Pictures are not accurate, construction is all around, no access to the beach and the main road is just on the top of the room so a lot of noise, pollution. Outside sunbeds in poor condition.

• Moksha (10/5): Awesome stay, location, and room - This property absolutely exceeded my expectations! The studio room had everything we could have possibly needed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with really nice decorations throughout. While it was a little bit loud with the road traffic, the location is great and there is a really, really lovely hangout area outside of the room. The bathroom was very clean and the small kitchen was perfect for our needs. I’m definitely going to be back with my husband! I just wish they had mosquito spray with every room- when it’s rainy season the mosquito are killer.

• Christoph (9/5): Great place and facilities for this value. - The rooms are spaceous and have a well equipped kitchen with fridge, inductive stove, toaster, sandwich maker, and lots of plates, cuttlery and glasses. The AC is quite new and works fine. There is also a pool on the property close to the sea. Unfortunately, currently the shoreline is being rebuilt completely for shore protection. So there is no beach access now. But once constructions are done (I guess for next main season in 2026), there should be a direct beach access again as well.
• Victor (8/5): Great central location with helpful hosts - The location was great, very central and surprisingly quiet even though it’s on a busy main road. The hosts, Ketut and her husband, were friendly and very helpful. He is a taxi driver, so you can easily organise a full-day tour with him, and you can also arrange breakfast with Ketut for a reasonable price. The direct access to the beach from the property is currently closed due to construction, but there are other nearby paths you can use. Ask Ketut, she will help with this too.
• Carmel (8/5): Value for money, quiet location. - Loved the location, beautiful gardens and great sitting area on patio, with a fan there to keep you cool. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The pool pump was broken for most of our stay so could not swim. We did go next door to Bali palms to swim, but not the same. The one thing I would definitely recommend for Catra number 5 is new pillows for the bed. Absolutely no stuffing in one and the other was t much better. Just a small thing but would make a huge difference.
• Kyjevska (5/5): Okey stay, some rooms are mouldy and not so clean, great location, friendly host, - Great location right on the beach, drinkable water in the room. The room was cozy and renovated, but the bed wasnt clean, it was all covered in sand. And there was a constraction happening in front of it with heavy machinery. We added a day and had to move rooms to the next door, the room was old, musty and full of mould smell.

La plage est en travaux donc malheureusement pas accessible mais la piscine est appréciable. Le personnel m’a emmené à quelques minutes du logement sur une autre plage avec transat et piscine pour palier à la situation.

• GAVIN (8/5): A classic value for money stay with island vibes. - Although an older style of Vila, everything that matters works. There is no reception area as such but a quick phone call to Ketut will have someone there within minutes. I really liked the laid back feel and the garden. The lounge on the verandahbis a great place to lay and catch a breeze and watch the people go by. The foreshore works make it difficult to access the water.

• Matthew (8/5): Very good - Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped unit, great bed, lovely gardens. Location was ideal, loved the terrace to relax and read a book on. Both things outside of their control. Water pressure and temperature was very poor and the beach is under reconstruction at the moment which was disappointing.
• Helen (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Room size was perfect. Comfortable bed. Bathroom was good with plenty of hot water. The verandah area was lovely. Kitchen facilities excellent. My room was number 7, (I moved from number 5.) Closer to the road so very noisy with endless trucks passing by. I am used to that from city life but for some it would be a problem. Beach is currently under construction so not very pretty!

We live in Bali , but up north and often stop on the bike for a night in Candi on our way to see friends, i must say in all my stop overs this is the cleanest room we have ever stayed in . • Lenka (10/5): A hidden gem for a budget friendly price - The room was clean and spacious and we had everything what we needed in the small attached kitchen. We loved the couch on the terrace, too. The place has a secluded atmosphere, even though it is close to the main road and many good restaurants. We thought we would stay in Candidasa for a few nights, but there is a lot to do and the room was so cosy, that we extended our stay twice and would happily return.

Unfortunately we had to cut our stay very short, (Booked 2 weeks, stayed 3 nights), and there wasn't any staff around to advise of this change. We ended up leaving our room key with someone who was staying in another room. Despite messaging Catra twice to explain we had left the motel, we never heard back.

• Sharon (1/5): We didn’t stay, would rather lose our money we had paid & found somewhere much better for only slightly more money - The pool was ok Everything! We were booked & pre paid for 3 nights. Booked because of good reviews but you need to be aware there are a few cottages all independently owned- we booked on booking.com & didn’t know which unit we would be put into. Unit 8 was smelly, dirty, stained threadbare towels, dirty kitchen & bathroom, ants everywhere in kitchen. We walked down the road & found a lovely place to stay instead that could accommodate us the next day so we only stayed in unit 8 one night. Beds were like sleeping on concrete. Bedding was very old & worn. No water provided. Shower only stayed hot for 1 out of 3 people. Some of the other units looked nicer but we definitely don’t recommend unit 8.

• Danielle (7/5): Good value for money but don't expect too much - The location right next to the beach was lovely. However, the beach wasn't the best place to swim. The seating area out the front is lovely. The surrounding area doesn't look great but there are some excellent restaurants, we ate really well here. There is so much to see in the area, Virgin Beach is a must. Taman Ujung water palace and Tirta Gangga are both worth a visit. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was pretty dingy. It needs a good scrub and a refresh but for the price it was okay. You had to supply everything, there wasn't soap or dishwashing liquid, not even a plug for the sink - I found some cleaning staff who gave me one from another unit. Our place was very dark and the electricity wasn't very strong so if the air-con was on then the lights were very dim. I looked at a double unit and it looked way nicer than ours, better bedding and much cleaner, so that must be where the good reviews come from.

• Emanuele (9/5): Superb - Nice rooms, with swimming pool, if one wants. Uou van access the sea just from the homestay, butnitnis unlikely that you want to swim there. Despite it was stated that the staff would be there at our arrival, there was nobody. Fortunately we were assisted by a host who found an open bungalow and suggested to settle in. We wrote for getting a confirmation and nobody answered...

• Jojoba65 (10/5): Fantastic small hostel - The path in was delightful. Lovely gardens. Well maintained. My adult daughter and I shared the two room apartment for four nights. It was perfect for us. The staff were around when needed but not over attentive which is how we like it. The host organised a snorkelling trip for us which was fantastic. The pool is small and clean. The beach is cleaned daily and it was interesting watching the local people fish on the pier. We enjoyed our own private outdoor table and lounges. We also enjoyed playing games at the communal table overlooking the ocean. It is close to our favourite Warung de5 and also Warung Bintang. The local lady at the small nearby Warung sells cold beers and tonic for the gin plus some fresh fruit and other necessities. It is a good walk into town past the local beach. All the locals are friendly and happy. It is off the busy main road but the traffic noise is negated by the wonderful sounds of the ocean. Not really a negative...but if you are noise sensitive to air cons, waves and occasional loud scooter then bring ear plugs.

The room was a bit dated and good use a good clean. The towels and sheets are a bit older and could do with a refresh.

• Dave (10/5): Excellent stay in Candidasa - We pretty much loved everything about this place. The room was a good size with a big and comfy bed, decent-sized bathroom with a powerful hot shower. There is ample space on the terrace with a huge couch to chill on as well as an incredibly well-equipped kitchen (kettle, toaster, big fridge and freezer, cutlery and crockery). The internet was pretty good, the area is quite quiet even though you are close to the main road, the AC was cold and the small swimming pool is nice to chill in as well as a beach just a few steps from the property. Lastly, the location is excellent, with some shops around and even an ATM and just 8 min walk to the main part of Candidasa. nothing, everything was great. You may need to whatsapp the lady who will give you the keys to your room.
