We had a free upgrade from 2 bedrooms to the 3 bedrooms upon checking in. We have no problem communicating with the staff. They can understand English and also able to communicate back to us with ease. The daily breakfast spread is also good. My family enjoyed the daily breakfast very much. Furthermore, the overall service and experience staying at Sandalwood Beijing Marriott Executive Apartments were awesome. very peaceful surroundings, hotel is clean and nice. spacious space available. I personally like the vending machine service that the service apartment has. there's a huge variety of foods/snacks available for us to purchase anytime. the nearby subway station GaoBeiDian is kind of far from the hotel. will need to walk for about 15mins to reach the subway using the AMap to navigate our way there. It will be great if some shuttle bus service between the hotel and subway station, maybe like 2 to 3 times a day...depending on the requirement. It will be very helpful for families with kids staying in the service apartment.

Whenever we had questions, he was ready to help and made our stay the best. The staff at the front door are amazing as well, and will help you get in/out of your taxis, always ready to support when you have many baggages. Please look for Jason if you want to stay here, he goes above and beyond for guests like us. The toilet bowl could be improved if there was a bidet function. Currently, its just toilet paper.

• Katrin (1/5): - Because Marriott never returned our deposit, we cannot say anything good about this hotel. We are extremely disappointed and will never come back. We will also warn others not to stay here — it is not safe to trust this hotel with your money. Our stay at Marriott in China turned into a nightmare. We left a huge deposit by card — almost double the cost of our 6-night stay. At check-out, the staff refused to return it and told us to “contact our bank.” It has now been 3 months, and Marriott is still holding our money. The hotel ignores our emails, hides behind empty excuses, and no one takes responsibility. We are outraged — this is a large amount of money stuck with Marriott, and they simply stopped communicating with us. For a 5-star hotel, this is beyond unacceptable. It feels like fraud, and guests deserve to know: if you pay a deposit here, you risk never getting it back.

Nothing to see outside the hotel but it wasn't a problem for us as we usually returned mostly each day only in the evening after a long excursions.

I booked two bedrooms but was upgraded to three bedrooms instead, Thanks A Lot for that because my 2 sons can have their own room. I saw some commented about not given any dishwasher & detergent, well you just need to ask from them if you need any. They will provide it for FREE. I didn't see any subway station nearby but anyway we use Didi service coz its cheap & more convenient for the kids. Also, there's no convenient store around. Basically there nothing around (i think its a housing area) but less than 4 minutes walk across the road, there's 2 restaurants. I didn't go there so i have no comment on it. Breakfast is provided without any charges. Everyday they serve different choices. Well, its combination of asian & western breakfast. The pillow. Its overly soft and flat, once i lay my head on it. Like there's no head support. Otherwise, everything is okay

• Hwee (7/5): Pleasant stay - Like the spacious room at 108 square meter. Overall the stay is pleasant . Some comments below : No aircon in room because it is winter. We have to open window to get cool air . But at night it becomes too cold with windows open. Strange hotel policy of making me pay high deposit of Yuan 5000 but my hotel stay is slightly below Yuan 3000. While hotel says it will refund the difference within 7 days, it does inconvenient guest to wait for hotel to refund. Subway Gaobeidian is about 15 minutes walk. A bit of walking . We travelled mostly by taxi after trying the subway once.

The lunch at the hotel restaurant is pool, both food and service was well below standard. We spilled some juice on the floor, requested hotel to clean and mop the floor, but it was not properly cleaned.

The staff are helpful and courteous. Facilities like the gym and pool are well-maintained and add great value to the stay. Highly recommend for families or group of friends. The location isn't the best, as there aren't many shops or amenities nearby. However, if you can use Chinese delivery services/apps, deliveries to the collection area in the lobby can be within a few minutes.

• Glenno1956 (10/5): Our stay in an Excellent Exclusive Hotel - At first we booked for only 4 nights, but extended our booking and stayed 7 nights. It is a beautiful hotel. The appartement was large (116m2), with a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom with shower and bathtub, a large walk-in wardrobe, 2 toilets. Everything in the apartment was well coordinated and very clean. The bed was a place you could stay all day :):). The staff members are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Many different dishes. Sadly, in the neighbourhood is nothing much to do. In 3 minutes walk there are 2 restaurants which have delicious dishes. As far as I know there is no subway nearby. Everywhere you want to go you need a taxi. But transport is very cheap. So.... who cares. We just had a wonderful time and we recommend this hotel highly.

The didn't tend to give enough drinking water in the rooms, but the staff downstairs were very nice and helpful to give us some extra water. They had nice Qingdao draft beer in the restaurant. But overall, this is a highly classy place, a little further out from the main centre, but was amazing space for the price. Highly recommend this place to Westerners. Our last night, they were out of Qingdao beer. That was the only negative.
