It is up in the hill with a great view of the lake, mountains and town. Breakfast is great with home grown and made ingredients. Most of all, the owners were warm and friendly Not that I can think of

• Ricardo (10/5): Melhor do que qualquer hotel convencional - A casa é um espaço amplo, composto por uma sala com cozinha e um quarto suíte, além de uma sacada enorme. A casa como um todo é muito charmosa e muito bem construída. A vista já é um passeio à parte em Wanaka, que para mim é a cidade mais bonita do país. O atendimento é um detalhe a parte, que pessoa simpática, prestativa e atenciosa é a Noelene. Chega a ser invejável o quanto ela gosta de pessoas, mas tudo com o tempo certo, sem atrapalhar nada da viagem. Sem dúvidas, uma das minhas melhores experiências até hoje, voltaria aqui sem nenhuma dúvida.
• martin (10/5): - Bill and Nolene were exceptional hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, even bringing our breakfast up on trays. The views were stunning of snow capped mountains. They treated us like family, not as guests. Everything you needed was in the apartment. Bill and Nolene gave us their local knowledge of the area. We really did not want to leave.!!!!!! Absolutely nothing. It was fabulous.
• Yvonne (10/5): - We had the most wonderful stay at Kauri House Apartment. After traveling through Christchurch, Dunedin, and Queenstown, this was by far our favorite place – and the biggest surprise of our trip. The apartment is on the second floor of a charming wooden chalet, with its own private entrance. The view from the top of the hill is simply breathtaking – overlooking Lake Wanaka and the town. It was incredibly peaceful at night, and the wooden interior gives the space such a warm, cozy feel. The radiators kept us perfectly warm. Noelene and Bill are exceptional hosts. Every morning, they brought us a delicious and generous breakfast right to the room. The yogurt with berries was especially memorable – so fresh and tasty. And the tomatoes – they grew them themselves, and they were the most flavorful tomatoes we’ve had in years (unlike the bland ones we had elsewhere). When Bill noticed how much I loved them, he gave me one as a gift on the day we left. Such a sweet gesture! Noelene and Bill are also wonderful to talk to. They shared the story of how they built this beautiful hilltop chalet, and gave us great local recommendations. We truly felt their warmth and passion. We left with such fond memories. Highly, highly recommend staying here – it’s pure magic. Thank you, Noelene and Bill!

Im Prinzip hat man eine ganze, perfekt ausgestattete Wohnung inklusive eines riesigen Balkons für sich. Und die Aussicht ist wirklich atemberaubend. Die Hosts Noelene und Bill sind an Freundlichkeit nicht zu übertreffen. Sie kümmern sich und geben wertvolle Tipps. Kein Wunder, dass diese Unterkunft so hoch bewertet wird. Jeden Tag gibt es ein frisches Frühstück - mit Omelett, selbstgemachter Marmelade und frischen Früchten. Liebe Noelene, lieber Bill: nochmals danke für eure unglaubliche Gastfreundschaft. Everything is impeccably clean and thought out and there is nothing more you could want for whilst staying in this amazing BnB. The owners Bill and Noelene made our stay truly exceptional. They were incredibly warm, helpful and accomodating in every single way, and don’t get us started on how lovely the included breakfasts are - the freshness and Bills tomato’s grown from his garden really are standout and to be able to enjoy them in front of the gorgeous view really is something else. Would 12/10 recommend to stay here when in Wanaka. • Novem (10/5): 完美的体验 - 这次新西兰南岛自驾之旅，最惊喜的就是这间坐落在wanaka 山顶的“树屋” ”，闹中取静，俯瞰整个 wanaka， 还能远眺雪山，周围都被各种植物包围，早上都是被小鸟叫醒。 视野封神：房子位于小镇制高点，阳台可270度俯瞰瓦纳卡湖与南阿尔卑斯山。白天看湖和雪山倒影，夜晚躺看银河—光污染极少，星空和银河清晰得震撼。 屋主很有意思：Bill和 Noelene是理想房东的模样。热情但有分寸，每天用自家花园食材现做早餐（蛋/培根/香肠＋有机蔬菜），入住3天以上还会请吃现钓鳟鱼！冰箱里还有给住客准备的牛奶以及葡萄酒！ 自然主义美学：房子是这对夫妻设计的，全屋用回收木材与石材建造，像长在森林里的童话树屋。地暖、浴袍、洗衣烘干机俱全，连调味料都备齐（调味品由甚至还有面粉以及一些零食和各种酱料，第一次住民宿这么齐全的）。 Q 早餐真的很好吃 •早餐可点单，会准时送到房间，好吃好看 •房东会贴心推荐小众徒步路线，还会带你走 •独立入户，独享整个空间，隐私与温暖兼备 🈚️
• Tim (10/5): Truly a stay in paradise... - This was one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed! The apartment itself is super charming with all the amenities you might need. The view from the deck was unbelievable--truly remarkable. I sent a picture to a friend and they called it "paradise." The location is fantastic for Wanaka. We had stayed downtown in Queenstown, and it nice to be a few minutes removed here but still convenient to everything. But the kindness of Noelene And Bill is unmatched. My heart feels fuller from staying here. (And stomach from their delicious breakfast!!!)

• Sylvia (10/5): Best stay in Wanaka! - This might be the best accoms that we’ve ever stayed in (and we travel a lot). The house itself is perched on a higher ground so you get to see the whole town, lake and the surrounding mountains from inside the house and the balcony. It’s also quite dark up there so you can see the stars on a clear night. The room is thoughtfully and sustainably built with all the amenities and facilities for a comfortable stay. Bill and Noelene stocked up the place with snacks and cooking ingredients too which was super helpful. Best part about this is spending time with Bill and Noelene. Super friendly hosts and even included homemade breakfast - with ingredients freshly grown from their backyard. Apparently if you stay more than 3Days you might even get to enjoy some salmon / trout on the menu! Bill and Noelene also gave us a tour of their lovely home with all the recycled elements and materials from all over New Zealand. This is a gem and we’ll be back for sure. Thank you Bill and Noelene!
• Yan Hao (10/5): Amazing hosts and apartment - breakfast was amazing and the portion was huge. The host, Nolene and Bill were accommodating and we even got a house tour before we left. The apartment is beautiful and had an amazing view.
• Marilyn (10/5): Gorgeous views and wonderful hosts! - The building is beautiful and sits atop the town with a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and lakes. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided us with everything we could have wished for including hot and delicious breakfasts each morning. The interior is warm and and cozy. The driveway up the hill is tricky, but will be repaired soon.
• Laura (9/5): Comfortable and cosy stay with sweeping views of Wanaka - Lovely views of Wānaka, cosy space and fantastic hosts who made us delicious breakfasts every day using home grown ingredients. Low water pressure in the shower was the only real negative for this property. Driveway was very steep, winding and narrow. Not a problem for us, but a note for nervous drivers.

Breakfast was fantastic, with daily choices, cooked to order. One day was even given freshly caught trout. View across Lake Wanaka from the huge balcony is fantastic. Great communication with directions as location could be a little tricky. Would fully recommend. Thank you Bill & Noelene for making our stay so enjoyable. Nothing, all fantastic.

I doubt there are better views elsewhere in Wanaka. The apartment is lovely and has everything one needs. We would love to go back there one day as we had a wonderful time.

The apartment where we stayed was totally separate from the hosts house. Every morning we were greeted at a predetermined timed with a lovely breakfast. Eggs, bacon or sausage,and a variety of fresh vegetables from their garden. It was heavenly! The property was very clean and well appointed. The hosts gave us recommendations about sights around the area. Upon our request. A washer and dryer were available which was a welcome amenity during our stay. The location was convenient to town and other local attractions. I cannot say enough about this wonderful find and the lovely couple who hosted us during our fantastic visit to Wanaka! I can think of nothing I didn’t like.

The addition of electric blankets provided further warmth at night. Beautiful amenities and facilities were available. The bottle of wine in the fridge was a generous and lovely touch. Their scrumptious, homecooked/homegrown gourmet breakfast was a huge delight each morning. Exceeding all expectations in comfort, cleanliness, hospitality and genuine kindness. We valued their historical lessons and acknowledge that both Noelene and Bill are deeply respected members of their community. Our beautiful hosts ensured that our stay was pleasant and memorable. • Lisa (10/5): Perfect stay with a perfect view - Scrumptious and delicious breakfast. Excellent hospitality from the host. View was magnificent, especially when we were blessed with snow fall in September. Road leading towards the home is quite narrow & steep. But this home is worth the drive.
• Allison (9/5): Delightful - Beautiful panoramic views. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful, terrific local knowledge and so welcoming. The extra things like fresh flowers, bottle of wine on arrival and the daily hot breakfast is amazing (brought to our apartment at whatever time we chose). The building is exactly as the pictures show - very different from most places, a lovely change If you want to walk to town this isn’t the place for you. A $18 cab ride or 5 min drive gets you there though
• Adele (7/5): Lovely hosts, breakfast provided, views - The hosts were lovely, had great advice on the area and provided a cooked breakfast. Apartment has view over Wānaka. This is why I assume the rating of 9.8. We were disappointed with this accommodation and expected more from a 9.8 rated property. The property is set up high above Wanaka. The driveway is steep, narrow and not maintained so it’s very rough. The apartment and furnishings are dated, Water pressure to shower terrible, tv small - not a smart tv, bed dips to middle. I looked again at older reviews to see why the 9.8 but each one mentions the hosts being lovely and breakfast which must be more important to some guests than the property itself which is understandable. I guess it depends on what you are looking for

The room is located up on a hill which has great view on the Wanaka lake at any time. The apartment has everything you need, cozy bed, kitchen, sofas and balcony. Breakfast is super nice! Washing machine and dryer are easy to use.

The views from the apartment are unbelievable, while the space itself is warm and welcoming and includes everything you could need, including cooking and washing facilities. The hosts were fantastic, cooking up a delicious breakfast everyday, and happy to provide ideas for activities based on their long history in the area. Book this place if you can, you will not be disappointed!

Perched in a private location with a 270-degree view, this multi-room apartment is spacious, well-appointed, and crafted with loving care. Bill and Noelene are extremely gracious hosts, and the breakfasts (included) are VERY generous and delicious. Highly recommend.

• Peter (9/5): Very homely stay in a comfortable house. Great hosts - Lovely views over Wānaka. Large apartment, comfy bed, well equipped. Fresh flowers in the room. Had great breakfast and Nolene and Bill were really friendly and helpful. We even had a lift to drop off our car at one end of a walk to avoid walking both directions.

• Mark (10/5): A treat to stay at the Kauri House hosted by Noelene and Bill. - Noelene bent over backwards to look after us during our 2 night stay. The views from the lounge over lake Wanaka to snow capped mountains were amazing. The breakfasts prepared for us were fantastic and totally unexpected.

• Ann (2/5): One very uncomfortable night. We left the next morning at 7.30am. without eating their breakfast. - Unfortunately, the state of this accomodation detracted completely from the late view. The apartment smelled strongly of a tobacco type odour. This odour permeated the furnishings and the bed linen. The apartment was dirty. The bathroom hand basin and toilet had clearly not been cleaned for some time and were soiled. Doors did not open/shut properly. There was considerable dust on every shelf, window sill and other ledges as well as in the kitchen draws. Two vases of wilted flowers were left on the tables after it was said they would be removed. The driveway was very steep, its surface was broken and it had ill defined steep sides in parts making it very hard to navigate in the dark. The Booking.com award displayed in the apartment stated a rating of 9.8 in 2022. This accomodation was well below this.

From the detailed driving instructions to the property emailed to us a few days before our arrival, the wonderfully furnished premises, the great suggestions to hikes around the area, the delicious breakfast served every morning and the beautiful view from the balcony. It was a great stay😄 None

• Garry (10/5): Highly recommended - Breakfast was fantastic, trout served one morning, caught by 'Bill' our host the previous day. Driveway, a bit hard to find at first then very steep but the view over Wanaka is worth the climb.
• James (10/5): Simply a perfect stay in every way- one of the best ever - Where do I start- amazing breakfasts, including freshly caught trout, great coffee, the most amazing view, the hosts are so friendly, and helped my wife carry her bag as she had been ill- really this place is a jewel in every way The drive in is a bit challenging but okay provided you take it slow, but the views make it so worth it

• Jiun-yi (10/5): Exceptional - The view is spectacular!! Although it was cloudy and raining on the day we stayed, we still can enjoy the vibe and had a drink on the balcony! The breakfast was appetizing, and the hosts were very thoughtful and kind, they also offer milk and wine to let us enjoy our stay. We defiantly will stay in this property again in the future to come back and enjoy the sunshine in Wanaka~

• Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - It felt like a home away from home. Very cosy with amazing views of Wanaka from sunrise to sunset. Also the brekky was the best!!!! Bill and Noelene are both warm, inviting and open to providing advice regarding the beautiful town and surrounds.
