• Nils-Egill (2/5): Hols dere unna. - Det beste med hotellet er at det ligger små restauranter i gatene rundt. 100 ganger bedre mat enn på hotellet. Frokosten, kan ikke kalles frokost, restauranten kan ikke kalles restaurant Brukte 10 min for å finne svømmebassenget. Hotellet er under oppussing med sterke lukter av kjemikalier. Bortkastede penger.

• Alice (8/5): - La propreté des chambres et le personnel accueillant La piscine est située un peu loin de l'hôtel, il faut circuler dans plusieurs bâtiments pour y avoir accès. Elle est enclavée entre 2 immeubles, mais a le mérite d'exister...
• Claudia (9/5): - La struttura, lo staff, la colazione. Sono stati gentilissimi ad organizzare un pick-up inaspettato (il nostro bus ha tardato ad arrivare in città, e non ha potuto farci scendere in centro). Gli arredi un po' vetusti, ma assolutamente adeguati al prezzo.

Hence, didn't take the risk But if you like and are lucky enough, you get to park under the shelter for the motorbike in front of the hotel Can't get an extra key card or separate the key from the 'switch card' for the electricity hence, things don't get charged when you are out of your room The hot water in the showers wasn't working on the morning I left

• Darko (8/5): Great, with niggles - Great reception staff, with servicable English. The room was big - c.50m2 - and clean. En-suite bathroom, kettle ... all good! The breakfast was great - buffet, topped up with a separate meal from the menu, all included in the (very favourable!) price. The hotel loses points on small things. The wi-fi connection kept dropping with suspicious regularity - about every 10 minutes. Did the hotel time it so? I couldn't;t be bothered to enquire, so I used my own. No hot water in the shower. Not a big deal when the weather flirts with 30C even in the night, but still ... easily fixable, but it was not.

• Tony (8/5): Very good - Quiet room. Breakfast ok. Close to Nipat Eye Clinic for short stay following YAG laser surgery. Will use this hotel for my follow up appointments. Shower takes 15 minutes to warm up from cold.

• Henderson (10/5): Simple and convenient! - We always stay here on our way to and from Koh Tao after getting off and going to the train station. It’s a 5 min walk to the train station. The night market and small mall are also 5 min walk away. There is a side door into the hotel that is locked at night and the first time we went it was a bit confusing. Not a lot of people speak English in this town.

• Reallyanonymous (8/5): BIG "THANK YOU" to the staff of Morakot Hotel!!! Second stay, second time satisfied!! - The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Chumphon, at walking distance from the train station. I was very much impressed by the helpfulness of the hotel staff!! I forgot some documents in my room when I checked out and noticed this only when I was already in the train to Hat Yai. I could not travel back due to the train timetable in place. A very helpful conductor called the hotel on my behalf and explained my situation. It was then agreed that the hotel would take my document folder to the Chumphon train station from where it would be sent by a night train to Hat Yai train station. And this worked out perfectly: I got back my documents the next morning in Hat Yai. A BIG "THANK YOU" to everybody involved but especially to the very helpful hotel staff!!!!

The AC made a horrible high pitched screeching sound all night that was absolutely unbearable to listen to while trying to sleep. The wifi is also HORRENDOUS. They shouldn’t even list that they have wifi because it doesn’t work.

• Danny (7/5): Convenient and good value. - The location is convenient for those traveling by train. This was a place to stay before catching a train the next day. It fit the need and I would say it was a good choice.

• David (7/5): Good - It was a nice clean hotel, staff were pleasant, and helpful, very little English tho, close to train station, and near to mini bus taxis for onward journeys It had a restaurant, that only seemed to open for breakfast, a pool that was in another building, I had to ask reception to open it as there was always a closed chain across, a nice building but not a lot happening in it

• Gernot (8/5): A nice place to stay for a few nights. Will go there again if I am traveling to Chumphon. - The location is quiet and close to the center. The management and all staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There was sometimes no hot water. But no problem.
