Guest Reviews
- Colin (10/5): Fantastic. Everything ticked the boxes. - Property was comfortable. Owners vey friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Overall very enjoyable stay and will hopefully visit again. Liked everything.
- David (10/5): Super comfortable room with great amenities and pub close for amazing food and drink - Peaceful location. Pub close by with great food and friendly staff. Room was well decorated with tea coffee fresh milk and water. Shower was powerful and hot. Bed and pillows comfortable. Free parking and WiFi.
- Sara (4/5): - The location
Fresh milk nice coffee
Pleasant hosts The heavily stained mattress
No fire alarm
Dirty shower
Dog barking from
7am
- Val (9/5): Comfortable stay in peaceful location, with good food and pleasant staff . - Good food - extensive menu of pub staples but with a few more unusual offerings, including home-made.
Though small, the room was comfortable and included all essential facilities
- liontamer (6/5): - Clean room, nice shower, nice village. Advertised as having kitchen facilities. Reality was 2 tablespoons, half jar of coffee and a few tea bags.No milk provided. 2 of the 3 ceiling light bulbs were out. I would definitely had recommend this as excellent value for money but for one one thing, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and really needs to be destroyed.
- Barry (3/5): Needs investment - Next to a friendly pub Needs new mattress in the room we stayed in and the quality of the bedding was dire.
- Nikki (7/5): Would stay again. - Secure parking, cost room. Shower water didn’t get hot enough
- Colin (8/5): - The food was Very good and the atmosphere in the pub was very good.. Bed was too hard for me, although it was ok for my wife
- Guest (10/5): -
- Tracy (5/5): - Private entrance and that we could bring our dog with us Room was cold , draft coming through the door. Bathroom was dirty, hair in the shower. Built in wardrobe had someone’s clothes label on the floor.
Had a small plug in heater which was dusty and didn’t look safe to use.
- Timandra (5/5): - Good parking. Meals in the pub were very good. Bed was comfortable It was not as advertised. It is not a studio, there is no kitchenette or fridge for storing food. There is only a kettle and 2 cups. Internet connection sometimes very slow. Room is small and there is a patch of black mould in the cupboard. Shower could be cleaner.
- Janet (1/5): -
- Susan (8/5): Cosy and compact studio in the countryside - There were some nice touches - porridge pots for breakfast, good quality shower gel and shampoo and it was very cosy and quiet. We had already eaten, but the food available in the adjoining pub looked good Although clean overall the mouldy shower cubicle let it down. For us the bed was a little soft, but that is just personal taste
- Joyce (10/5): - The host was very helpful. The room was nice and clean and warm. Very cosy
The bed was comfortable, too. No proper breakfast.
I had to go into town for something to eat.
- Kathrin (10/5): - On the C2C hike there is a little place called welbury,
Where you can find the duke of Wellington. not far from the route. Worth a visit, tasty food in the pub and a neat room, with coffee, tea and kettle and good cereals. -
- John (8/5): In general the place is good however there were some facilities missing. - The room was comfortable and smart with a nice bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wee had a good meal in the pub. The description on Booking.com is inaccurate. It states that there are kitchen and kitchenware and none is provided other than the normal tea and coffee making facilities. This is a BIG error and really should be corrected. As a minimum we expected a small fridge. It was not possible to connect to the WiFi in our room and I was unable to check that the facilities advertised were not being provided
- Coxio (9/5): - Communication. Room. Facilities. Host. N/A
- Collin (9/5): -
- Anne (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and would return if we needed to be in that location again - We ate at the attached pub both nights. The food was lovely. Lots of parking. Dogs were welcomr
- Colin (5/5): - The room was very clean Experience of a studio room.
- Vicky (9/5): -
- Steve (9/5): - Excellent value - I was on a one night stay while cycling LEJOG - basic accomodation and excellent value - cycle storage provided and evening meal in the adjoining pub was very good - good pub atmosphere and service. Tea/coffee/milk etc in room and a carton of breakfast oats which was unexpected but useful to start the day. Attentive and friendly hosts running the pub as well.
- Wendy (7/5): Good - I was expecting kitchen facilities in the room
- Amelia (6/5): Lovely pub with great food and kind staff. Basic room but fair for the price. - we had supper at the pub which was lovely, the host and staff were all very kind and friendly. There was a garden at the back which was really useful for the dog. the first room we went into was unclean with very old ripped, bobbly sheets and water on the bathroom floor. Fortunately the host swapped rooms for us, the second room was better with clean bedding but was a little smelly, the tv remote and curtain rail were both broken. From the pictures I thoight the room was bigger but it was very small in reality.
- John (9/5): Overall a great place to stay - Nice and quiet, clean and comfortable Little small but overall good. Internet connection, but was resolved
- Allison (9/5): Lovely location - Great location, cosy accommodation, welcoming hosts a great find Nothing
- Bartlam (8/5): short trip - all good, local to what we needed. 30 minutes to York. nothing.
- Liv (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely room , very accommodating staff and a lovely location !
- Lorrie (9/5): Nice village and quiet location. - Whole apartment to self. Cosy and warm. Nice neutral decor. Good email communication. It was clean throughout. Overall pleasant and marketed at the right price. Mattress was average. I like my mattress to be more plush.
