• Salomé (7/5): Great location, room needs refreshment - The location is really great and the staff is helpful. The place is decent and the room was correct. The breakfast is nice and very quickly served. it didn’t look like the pictures. We saw other rooms with the door opened and they looked a lot different, and a lot better. Our room (5th floor) was clearly in need of refreshment, the wallpaper was coming off the walls, the painting wasn’t finished. The bathroom looked nothing like the pictures either.
• Daniela (1/5): Finger weg von dieser Unterkuft - Gar nichts Wo soll ich anfangen. Die Unterkunft war eine absolute Katastrophe. Das Zimmer war dreckig, alt und völlig heruntergekommen. Die angebliche „Terrassensuite“ entpuppte sich als eine Art Hinterzimmer, das nur durch eine enge kleine Gasse erreichbar war – mit der Beschreibung auf Booking hatte das nichts zu tun. In der ersten Nacht wurden wir zunächst in ein anderes Zimmer untergebracht, das sogar noch schlimmer war. In unserem eigentlichen Zimmer funktionierte angeblich nicht einmal der Strom. Die Zustände insgesamt waren unfassbar schlecht. Im Eingangsbereich schlief ein Kind auf einem alten Sofa, was die ganze Situation zusätzlich verstörend machte. Die Gastgeberin reagierte auf unsere Beschwerden aggressiv und unangenehm. Aufgrund der unzumutbaren Bedingungen sind wir nach nur einer Nacht wieder abgereist. Die Unterkunft entsprach in keiner Weise der Beschreibung oder den Fotos auf Booking. Leider hat Booking bisher auch nicht auf meine Anfragen reagiert.

• Lara (6/5): Location in middle of Hanoi chaos and fun! - Location great. Owner helpful and so sweet, even providing us with a bag of fruit and water for our onward bus journey. However hotel not really clean, bathroom yucky, bit sketchy in the hall ways and up the stairs, do not refer to photos, as it doesn’t look like photos. ok because it was cheap, but had people enter our room when we were there, thinking we weren’t home. Bit wacky.

• Ariel (10/5): Found a home in Hanoi - The Hotel is in a strategic location in the heart of the Old Quarter, within walking distance to almost all iconic attractions in Hanoi. Most of all, the staff is so kind and friendly; they are the reason we will come back again, and I am recommending this hotel when you are planning your trip to Hanoi.

On peut laisser les sacs si on part une journée (ou plus) ce qui est génial. Elle nous a même proposés de prendre une douche. Et l eau est chaude. Une pépite 😁 RAS

Les filles ont toujours un petit mot gentil et le sourire et vous trouvent des solutions pour organiser des visites ou des transports. Le calme de la chambre Serenity 1 dans la cour intérieure .

La chambre Serenity 1 dans la cour intérieure est spacieuse et calme et les petits déjeuners sont très bien avec un choix varié. Un très bon choix pour un prix raisonnable.

Il tubo di scarico del lavandino si staccava, allagando il bagno. La pulizia non è granchè. Le foto ovviamente sono molto più belle di quello che vi attende.

The room was spacious (upgrade to a family room) and we were able to check in early for a surcharge. We also liked the breakfast. • Tiffany (7/5): - Nous avons été très bien accueillis, les hôtes ont acceptés de garder nos sacs car nous étions arrivés plus tôt que prévu, le logement était très spacieux et le petit déjeuner était très bon Nous nous attendions à avoir des fenêtres mais elles étaient condamnés, il y avait une forte odeur d'humidité et le bruit constant (à l'extérieur mais c'est sûrement dans beaucoup d'hôtel ainsi ? mais aussi un petit chien à l'intérieur du guesthouse)

The motel is run by a family who where all very friendly and helpfull. There was no problems storing bags after before and after checkin. The breakfast was also very good with plenty of options. The facilities are getting older and we definately stayed at better accommodation, but it all worked and its location and staff made it worthwile.

First time in Vietnam and they went above and beyond helping us with food, travel, transport, sight seeing and more. Helped us out when my girlfriend was sick, recommended hospitals. Amazing location - walkable distance to everything. Best value for money when coming to Hanoi. Thank you for making our stay in Hanoi great!

• Anaïg (6/5): Décevant... - Nous avons aimé le petit déjeuner et les bouteilles d'eau dans la chambre. Nous avons aussi aimé la quantité de PQ et la quantité de savon et de shampoing disponibles. Premièrement, nous avons été surclassés (de deux lits à trois) mais la chambre n'était pas à la hauteur de nos attentes. Un des lits simples était inconfortable : le matelas était très dur et nous n'avons pas pu utiliser le lit. De plus, les photos ne sont pas contractuelles et la chambre est médiocre. Pas de douche séparée par une vitre comme sur les photos, pas de vue etc. Une belle vue de la fenêtre nous a été promise et au contraire, nous avons eu droit à une vue imprenable sur un fil à linge, de l'électroménager abandonné et un bâtiment nous bouchant la vue. La porte de la chambre ne fermait pas correctement. La pire chose dans la chambre était l'odeur nauséabonde dans la salle de bain qui est restée pendant tout notre séjour peu importe la VMC. Ça sentait les eaux usées et les matières fécales dès notre arrivée et c'était insupportable. Le robinet fuyait également. Enfin il y avait des tâches sur les draps et des cheveux !!

La chambre que nous avons eu ne correspondait pas du tout a notre la réservation, et pas eu d'eau chaude sur les 3 jours. Accès aux chambres assez particulier donc pas pratique avec les valises.

Åt mat med familjen någon kväll och bjöd på frukost när jag KLM tidigt från da nang. Hade em perfekt vistelse där. Återkommer gärna igen.
• Braden (5/5): - The "homestay" is more of a collection of apartments and random business's owned by Perfume. Very minimal interaction with staff. Rooms do not remotely match photos. This is neither a homestay or a hotel but some odd middle ground that is both cheap but also expensive for being in Vietnam and the lack of amenities.

• Sonja (8/5): Ruhige Oase im Trubel Hanois mit sehr netter Gastfamilie - Der herzlichste Empfang und mega Gastfreundschaft, ein Platz zum Wohlfühlen, Lage Top, Train Street ums Eck. Parfume und ihre Familie sind klasse! Wir hatten das Zimmer ganz hinten im Innenhof, eine ruhige Oase. Die Fotos sind wie überall viel schöner als die Realität zeigt und es könnte sauberer sein, dennoch ok. Klimaanlage funktioniert. Frühstück mega, Auswahl aus Eiergerichten und Nudelsuppen, man darf auch nachbestellen. Wäsche morgens abgeben, spät abends fertig. Es ist gleichzeitig ein Reisebüro für Ausflüge in der Umgebung und SIM-Karte und Wechselstube. Könnte sauberer sein
• Brendon (6/5): Happy ending to accomodation dilemma - Very close to Train Street and easily walkable to all of Old Town The room we booked was not the room we got. They said that there was an electrical problem and we could have the room the next day. The room they put us into was not at all appealing. We asked to see the room that we booked but we were refused. We showed them the pictures of the room and we were told it was staged. We said this was not good enough. She offered to cancel our booking free of charge and I said where are we supposed to go at 5pm at night. She said her sisters place was 2 mins walk down the road and we could stay there for $5.00 extra per night. We asked to see the room. This room was on the 8th floor and was lovely. We agreed to stay there and she still offered us the free breakfast. Very happy result but very stressful at the end of a very long journey.

The room we were given was not the one we had booked, and its cleanliness was far below acceptable standards. Additionally, the photos shown at the time of booking were misleading and did not reflect the actual condition of the property. The staff was unresponsive and showed no sense of urgency or accountability. We were left with the option to either wait until the next morning for our actual room or cancel the booking altogether. What was most concerning was the complete lack of apology or effort to resolve the situation professionally.

• Durana (10/5): - La dueña del hotel nos dejó entrar en la habitación antes de la hora del check in sin pagar más, nos invitó al desayuno ese día y nos ofreció una habitación mejor que la que habíamos reservado al mismo precio. Fueron muy amables con nosotros, nos guardaron las maletas y el desayuno es espectacular. Relación calidad-precio excelente.
• Simone (10/5): Eccezionale - Posizione ottima appena dietro alla train street e in perfetto centro città, ci siamo praticamente sempre mossi a piedi. Colazioni ottime, soprattutto il pho. Ma quello che fa la differenza è la famiglia che gestisce l’homestay: sempre col sorriso e sempre disposti ad adattarsi alle necessità del viaggiatore. Super consigliato! Niente

• Simone (7/5): - The homestay is a nice small complex located in central Hanoi, just outside the Old Quarter and only a few minutes from Train Street. The room was spacious, with a king-size bed and a small balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony wasn’t really usable because the AC unit was taking up most of the space. Apart from the bed, the furniture felt a bit dated, but it’s perfectly fine if you don’t have high expectations. Breakfast was quite good, with a wide selection of both sweet and savory options. Unfortunately, I was assigned a double room instead of the triple room I had requested and paid for. The room shown in the photos looked much newer and nicer, and it was not the one I was given.
• Stanisław (10/5): What an amazing place! - Such an amazing place, with even more wonderful people. The whole family run this business with great care and engagement. Everyone, especially Perfume, was super helpful and kind. We got everything we needed. She truly cares about the people she hosts and makes sure you feel comfortable and safe. We've never visited such a welcoming and heart-warming place. The food was also amazing, especially the banana pancakes. We truly recommend this place and already miss it.

The best part about Hanoi Family Homestay is the warm and hospitable nature of everybody there taking care of you and welcoming you in like you’re part of the family! Great location and incredibly clean! Will definitely stay here again when I next come to Hanoi!
