Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Exceptional - The vibe was amazing
King Dana was a super nice host for us
- Jacob (10/5): Awesome stay! So happy we found this place. Great value and vibe. - The host! The room, the mattresses were hard but SUPER COMFY, the view, the breakfast. The shower wasn't quite hot - but we would stay again anyway!
- Soney (10/5): The sunset was very beautiful -
- Adam (10/5): Everything is good - We enjoyed the food and drinking water from the clay pot
- Roza (10/5): Rooms made of heritage stone, where there is calm and in the morning the sounds of birds and a wonde - Calmness and sunset from my window
- Ama (10/5): We enjoyed the stay very much. I advise everyone who is looking for tranquility and delicious Bedoui - Bedouin food
- Ella (10/5): The place is quiet, we enjoyed the nature and amazing sunsets, and the food was delicious - The surrounding nature, delicious food and the host's treatment
- Reta (10/5): The accommodation is located in a quiet area, with a superb view of the archaeological site. Great - Everything is great Everything is great
- Jantu (10/5): "A warm, loving, and simple rural family made us feel incredibly welcome. My wife, child, and I were - I really appreciate their warm welcome, polite interactions, and the delicious food made with love. What I enjoyed even more were the stunning views I could see from my room.
- Riley (8/5): Beautiful Location and Super Nice People - Beautiful location and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Arranged a hike in the morning through the Biosphere. Directions and parking were unclear. Google maps had us off-roading in the rental. Would recommend asking for parking info/where to drive to exactly if you are renting a car.
- Jalld (10/5): Exceptional - Musa was very nice and the facilities were clean. It was a very wonderful and beautiful stay with Musa
- Maher (10/5): Moses is the one who makes the place - Musa is a very, very ambitious young man. Our future is very bright
- Ruby (4/5): Disappointing - The main host Musa was really lovely and the location was excellent if you want to be situated in Dana village itself. The bed was quite firm but comfy. Initially, we were greeted by a strange/ rude younger boy who kind of creeped us out. I was with my husband but would have stayed somewhere else if I was alone. It pains me to say this because the actual host Musa was so nice but the room was pretty awful. The kind of place where you're not going to take your shoes off to go to the bathroom. We booked it because it was cheap (16JOD) but turns out that was a mistake so usually it is 35JOD. I seriously wouldn't have paid that for the quality of the room. It was dirty and the bathroom was very bad.
- Inge (5/5): Passable - Diner was good The place ,as not easy to find. Language problem prevented efficient communication eventhough very friendy
- Łukasz (4/5): Not worth the price - Its located in the village where Wadi Dana Trail starts. WiFi was working fine. Conditions are really poor compared to the price. The toilet flash didn't work, the tap was leaking and one part was broken. The bed sheets were not 100% clean. The window was broken and couldn't be fully closed. The dogs outside were terribly loud all night. The personnel was super nice but there was a language barrier. Also, we spoke to a host only via phone of someone else who was on site. Breakfast very simple. Dinner was served in another building and it was really tasty but 10 JOD is too much for it. In my opinion this place is totally not worth the price, I don't understand where the good rating is coming from.
- Sam (10/5): Musa is a wonderful host who provides all services and makes you happy with your stay -
- Evana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is beautiful, especially the hotel management is more than wonderful
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - yes,very good
- Olga (10/5): Simple but great - The place is well-located and easy to find a parking place. Our room was simple as you can see it the pictures, but it is perfect for a short trip. The sunset is a must, and it is highly recommended to try the dinner offered by a host. When we were there the dinner was Magluba which is a traditional and delicious local food. The host is very friendly and helpful, so overall we enjoyed our time there. We did not have a bad experience.
- Marta (3/5): A macabre sherade in a tourist trap - The place was just filthy. We were greeted by a smell of sewage. We did not receive sheets and had to sleep directly under a well-used wool blanket. We had to request everything, incl. Toilet paper and towels (one of which ended up being a women’s shawl). The water pressure was appalling and there was barely and rarely any hot water. We also woke up with mysterious bites. We had a pleasure of eating two breakfasts there: the first one was filled with ash from cigarettes and the second was recycled from other guests, with bitten into food. The worst bit was the owner who was pestering us to book a tour that in fact didnt require a guide and was quoting three times the going rate. He was also chasing us around the village when we were looking for a restaurant to eat at. Overall, we have stayed at many places around the world and this one was the worst value for money.
- خالد (10/5): Exceptional - Musa has an extraordinary ambition and wish no happy time
- خالد (10/5): He risks many things - Musa He risks many things
- Joanna (8/5): Sociable stay, great location, rustic charm - Very sociable, friendly donkeys 🫏, great location hike routes from the door, tasty pomegranates and rustic charm Staff were friendly but a bit disorganised, kept trying to sell us a hiking guide (I think this is very common in Dana though)
- Charlotte (5/5): Passable - Very nice location, close to the trails (like all the other accommodation in Dana village).
The host is helpful and want you to have a nice stay (if you can afford it). The accommodation clearly does not worth the money: for the same price you will get a better room somewhere else in the village. Here it is more an unfinished house with very few windows (ours didn’t closed well and some dust was entering the room), and the « private bathroom » does not have hot water and is not inside the room.
The host tries to make you comfortable but it is clear the first thing he wants is to make you pay (for diners, for trails, for taxis…), which is no very nice when you are on a small budget.
- Daniëlle (7/5): Good - The host was lovely and gave us a lot of advice
- Joyce (10/5): Great stay in Dana! - Musa is a great host that makes you feel at home right away! Everything is easily arranged, and with good prices. Also nice that in the evening, most of the guests have dinner together.
- Cedric (7/5): Overnight in Dana - Musa was very helpful and friendly, location in the center of Dana (ok, it's not big!), quiet, It's a bit difficult to write a fair review as Musa was really friendly, but about the place itself - it's not that it was expensive, but for similar prices in Jordan we have had much much much better accomodations.
It is very basic, the shower doesn't work, the rooms are clean, but other rooms not really (don't open the storage/kitchen in the back...), we got a little concerned if there was ever a fire in that place after they decided to burn incense in the evening, shaky electric plugs, and fences on the windows, etc.
Also, 10JD for dinner felt a little bit much for rice and chicken... it's like 3JD per person anywhere else in Jordan!
- Evana (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful hotel in a beautiful village. It was a wonderful stay with my friends. We were very happy
- Evana (10/5): Exceptional - Musa was a kind personality and honest man because he helped us in every thing and take us a trip around the village as a local guide ☺️
It was a nice day with our close friend Musa and his little hotel 🙏
- David (10/5): Exceptional - It was a wonderful stay. I was really happy because the hotel management was good at dealing with me Everything is okay 👌
I like everything and I am so happy
- Mihai (10/5): Musa is very kind and funny !!! - Musa is very friendly, kind and thouthfull! Nice location, quiet and peaceful. The room was small but it was clean. We enjoyed the sunset drinking a cold jordan beer. Musa is a awesome person, kind and with a big heart. The highest score is due only to Musa this place is very simple - so don't expect hotel-like facilities !!!!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location, quiet and peaceful. Good food, cooked from the family. Musa is very kind and funny😊
- Moira (10/5): Lovely place and amazing experience - I loved the atmosphere of the place, quiet and charming.
You feel like at home thanks also to Mousa, the owner, who welcome us with a warm smile and a really nice tea. The first night we had also a yummy dinner cooked by his mum.
He really cared that our stay was perfect all the time.
The room was really small but I didn’t mind it because it was clean, cozy and anyway we spent all time outside hiking and enjoying the beautiful view of the Wadi Dana.
Really recommend this experience.
- Anonymous (3/5): Disappointing - It was cheap, but do not expect too much from this hotel. As soon the host Musa heard we would not have dinner at the hotel, he became very pushy. He seemed angry about it. The next morning he knocked on our door at 8 AM and asked again why we did not have dinner at the hotel.
The breakfast was very limited.
Besides that the plugs for electricity and the fan were not working, there were no curtains, no toiletpapier and it felt very dirty.
Although we did not expect too much for this price, we would not recommend staying at this hotel.
- Robin (8/5): Very good - Musa was helpful and friendly, creating a good atmosphere and encouraging the guests to mingle. The food was good and plentiful. Nothing really
- Gragnani (10/5): Exceptional - We are 2 friends from France, we loved the stay in Dana historic village with Musa. Musa is very friendly, kind and thouthfull!
His mother cooked the dinners and they were delicious. It's really enjoyable to be eating with musa and many other people from everywhere.
He advised us many hikes, prepared lunchboxes and water for us.
You can come here without thinking, It's all perfect!
Thank you Musa!! 😍
- Geli1809 (10/5): Great place with wonderful scenery - Great host, enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, beautiful scenery Note that this place is very simple - so don't expect hotel-like facilities! We enjoyed our stay and would come back if we would go to Dana again
- Alessandro (10/5): Exceptional - The place is simply amazing, you really feel in contact with the nature. The view that you see while having breakfast is unbelievable. Musa is a awesome person, kind and with a big heart. You will really feel at home here in dana historic village, nature+musa is the best duo you can find.
- Chaimae (1/5): Bad -
- Juliette (10/5): Mussa s place is well located, very simple but you’ll have everything you need !! Mussa knows how to welcome guests in t -
- Emilie (8/5): Very good - Amazing host and service! The mattress was super comfortable. The breakfast was decent. The location is great for the Wadi Dana trail.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great rustic place to stay! - It was great value for money and had everything we needed. Also catered to vegetarian food for dinner and breakfast
- Sam (10/5): Musa is a nice host who received us late at night and provided us with all the amenities and the sle - A beautiful and quiet place and a delicious breakfast a while ago. This night was one of the most beautiful nights in my trip with the guest Musa and his beautiful historical house
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - This place is perfect if you want to have a genuine bedouin experience! Musa is a great host. He made us bedouin tea at arrival and we had the chance to talk a lot and share experiences. He made sure we had everything we needed and insisted on waking up early to make us breakfast before we left (we left at 6.30). The room had all the essentials and was clean. The accomodation is in Dana village, and has a great view of the mountains. We enjoyed the sunset drinking a fresh jordan beer with other tourists and locals and had a very good dinner afterwards. Highly recommended for the whole experience!
- Foster (9/5): Musa is great and the location is wonderful - I read the reviews before booking and the one thing I consistently saw was the great comments about Musa ... and I agree! He and Nour (the young many who helped get me checked in) were both wonderful!
Musa made lots of great offers and suggestions. I was only there for a short overnight and didn't take any hikes this time. The location is incredible and the room is basic comfort so if you are in/out for a quick stay then I recommend adding this to your adventure list! The filters that I set included A/C as a requirement but there was none in the room. Musa did provide a fan, which was fine, although I prefer that the amenities be accurate and to not have to ask for what has been advertised. There was also no sheet, only a very heavy blanket in the room. It was mid-August so very hot. I ended up using a towel as a bedcover.
- Matthew (10/5): Clean and comfortable stay with a very welcoming host - Mousa was an excellent host! We were greeted with tea and sat outside enjoying the beautiful surroundings upon arrival. He made sure to bring us to a spectacular viewpoint for sunset. The room was clean and comfortable. The next morning, Mousa provided a delicious breakfast before we set out on a hike in the area. Thank you Mousa for the wonderful hospitality!
- Maarten (10/5): Exceptional - Musa was very kind, good hospitality and he has good guides. We had some shisha with the other guests around a campfire with some tea made on the fire. Real good experience! He even did some groceries for us.
- Joseph (10/5): Nice and enjoyable! - Very quaint and quiet. The man running the hotel was very nice and accommodating.
- Alette (9/5): Superb - We've had a wonderful stay at Musa's place. We felt welcomed from the very first moment we entered the place.
The lovely food cooked by his 'mami, habibi' was local and clearly made with love.
Musa suggested mulitple hikes for us, and made sure to accomodate the required guide and transport when needed.
In the evening he stoked the fire to make fresh tea straight from the campfire, and made us Sisha to enjoy by the campfire whilst spotting the stars on the beautiful clear night.
The combination of Musa, the food, the secluded location and the overall calm ambianz made it a difinite recommendation for everyone visiting the historic village of Dana.

- Mustafa (10/5): Always a pleasure :) - It is always a pleasure to stay in this place. That is why I booked here again for the seconde time within 2 months.
We were warmly welcomed by Mosa, who has organized a very delicious dinner for us. Next morning, we took one of his tours to Shaq al-Rish (Highly recommended). All perfect :)
- Bruno (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderfull stay at Mousa's. We stayed for one day. In the evening we had a lovely meal all together prepared by Mousa's mother. And the next day after agian a great breakfast we did a lovely hike guided by Mousa. It was a wonderfull experience and I am very thankfull for the hospitality and kindness of our host Sound Insulation
- اناستازيا (10/5): Exceptional - Moussa is a great host, he helped us from the start with tips to arrange our trip to Dana, and was really welcoming and very friendly. We had a great stay in Dana, the place is quaint and basic but with everything you need and perfectly located, with beautiful surroundings, great for hiking. Next time I hope to stay longer and do day hikes in Dana with Moussa as a guide!

- Emilie (10/5): Exceptional - We spent a lovely end of the day with Mussa (the owner) and the other guests. He gave us some tips to hike around. The breakfast was good. Mussa is a really friendly host. Nothing
- Zádor (10/5): Exceptional - Musa is an excellent, amiable host and does everything necessary for a great stay. He welcomed us with a huge and tasty watermelon which we ate together on the terrace after dinner. Musa and his friend told stories about the family and the Beduine culture, and we listened to traditional music while chatting. It was a great pleasure to meet them. The dinner and the breakfast were excellent in a nearby Hotel. Parking is free in Dana village. The room is small and quite basic, but it was OK for a night.
- Wietske (9/5): Best host! - Mussa is a very good host! He is doing everything to make your stay as good as possible. He also offers himself as a hiking guide. The location is very beautiful!
Rooms are small, but have everything you need. He has clearly done a lot of work to get the property in this shape.
Breakfast was good! He helped me find a different place to have dinner (as I am a vegetarian), but it's possible to have dinner as well.
As a solo traveller he made me feel at ease and there were other solo travellers there when I was staying. Great place to explore the Dana Reserve from. The smell (I think it was the paint) of the room gave me a headache. There are some improvements to be made, but I like where Musa is going with this place.
- Hasan (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great place to stay in, it is managed by Mosa , a young local man who is ambitious and really friendly person . We were welcomed by fruits and tea .. he showed us around and made sure that we were comfortable and have all what we need .
The place is clean, organized and nice . It is a small house , cozy and quiet .
Highly recommended
- Collin (10/5): Gateway to Dana! - Mousa is an amazing host and an excellent ambassador for Dana. He’s pleasant and funny, and I highly recommend you make use of his guide services if you plan a stay here. After an amazing and simple breakfast, he was able to tailor a short morning hike to the needs and skill levels of everyone in our party. He even brought along supplies for trail-side tea! We look for simple and interesting accommodations in our travels, and this certainly fit the bill. Accommodations are basic and a work in progress in some areas. Mousa is actively working to build on to the location and grow business, so you very well may find it even better equipped if you visit. Dana is a nature reserve, and Mousa’s place offers a comfortable albeit basic place to stay while enjoying the surrounding area. Expect 5-star hospitality and clean, comfortable, basic accommodation - all you really need and nothing you don’t!
- Josh (10/5): Fantastic accommodation in Dana - Musa was incredibly helpful with information on the hiking trails and provided an amazing breakfast. would thoroughly recommend staying here.
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed here 2 nights, the location is very good in the middle of Dana Village and near to the Mosque. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the atmosphere is nice.
The host Musa is very kind, helpful & friendly person, he offered me water, tea, coffee free of charge.
I also hiked with him, he is a good guide and caring person.
I recommend staying in Musa’s hotel and enjoy the time in the village.
- Mustafa (10/5): Best place to be in Dana - This is the newest Hotel in the Dana Village which is managed by a very nice and ambitious guy from the village itself. It is also an old but newly renovated house situated in a quite part of the village in the middle of farms. We liked the way our host, Mosa, greeted us and took care of us from the first moment on. One could depend on him regarding food, hiking trails and transportation. For the price, this hotel offers all what one would need for a comfortable stay in Dana. Mosa is also a very good cook. So don't hesitate to ask him to make you lunch or dinner using vegetables from the farms nearby which taste much more delicious than elsewhere. The hotel has two nice inner and outer terraces to sit and enjoy the evenings. There we spent three very nice nights with Mosa, other guests and delicious watermelons ;) Since it's a new hotel done by individual efforts, some small things still need to be added. The host is very attentive and listens carefully to guests' comments. So maybe by the time you are there, everything will be even better.
- Christian (7/5): Good - Musa is a kind host
