Guest Reviews
- Donna (9/5): Would stay again - Lovely appartment, helpful owner No wifi
- Robinson (10/5): -
- Annabelle (9/5): - Great location
- Diayhana (10/5): - Very clean. Easy to check in, good communication!
- Paul (10/5): -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good personal space for an overnight stay. - No breakfast included but none was expected either. Location was excellent for an event at the Armouries. Lots of space for an over-night stay, quiet for a good night's sleep. Even with the detailed written description( or perhaps because of them) it was really difficult to find the the main entrance to the building. Google maps doesn't help either. It would be better to include photos with the description so guests can recognise where they are and/or an annotated map showing how to get to the main door.
- Vixster1980 (1/5): Fraudulent booking - The owner was decent to discuss the fraudulent booking made to his house. Fraudulent booking which Booking.com did not help ke with at all
- Andrew (9/5): Great location great value and super comfortable - Great location was a little tricky to find the entrance and the entrance door had been smashed in but that is no reflection on the location Couldn’t fault it
- Mohammed (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view, nice location. Everything good
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sarah (10/5): Very nice apartment, easy check in and help on hand if needed! Fab - Great location Nothing! All very good
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (9/5): A nice apartment - Very nice flat, and a perfect location for a conference I was attending at the Armories. The directions to the front door of the apartment block were very confusing. It’s not the owner’s fault that the signposting around the building is terrible, but I’d suggest giving an exact location in the instructions, using what.three.words or attaching photos or a map or something. It took me a while to find it, even with the helpful maintenance guy on the phone guiding me.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Mjbmjb (8/5): Very good - Perfect for our requirements
- Mark (10/5): Lovely apartment will stay again -
- Umayra (1/5): Disgusting - The property is disgusting and filthy and we had no hot water for the whole stay and the door doesn’t even lock properly, he even sent someone to fix the hot water and they could not fix it, offered a refund then started ignoring messages. I’m not sure how he is still a host. I would not bother wasting your money, I would rather stay in a travel lodge
- Salem (10/5): Exceptional - legends with clean property
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Location, cleanliness.
- George (8/5): Great place not far from the city. Clean & tidy - Easy walk to city, spacious apartment, clean and tidy Lift wasn’t working, check in check out times could be longer. Bed and pillows was really hard
- Butler (9/5): It suited my need for an overnight stay. - It was clean and warm Nothing
- Stuart (2/5): Very poorly maintained accommodation in a very good location - Lift to 4th floor apartment inoperative
Common areas and corridors were smelly and not clean
Apartment wasn’t clean
Bathroom was mouldy with footmarks on the tiled floor
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (9/5): Superb - Good place to stay short walk from town Lift didn't work on 4th floor so not good really. Would again though
- Aggie (6/5): Pleasant - Wifi didn’t work
- York (8/5): Perfect base for a nice city break. - Location and size Bathroom needs a little attention but that’s being very picky
- Glyn (8/5): Very good -
- Corcoran (8/5): Very good -
- Flora (9/5): Superb -
- Megan (4/5): Disappointing - Loved the location The apartment was dirty, majority of the door handles are broken resulting in me getting cut. I couldn't find a first aid bag. The bathroom shelving has a thick layer of dust, is filled with mould, there is also a build up of dirt around the sink. The skirting are filthy. Just generally needs a good deep clean.
- Clinton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Had a lovely time around the docks. Went to the Armoury museum just around the corner - Nice View, excellent location, comfortable bed, nice apartment
- Diane (7/5): was great on most counts. perfect for a city break. - location was excellent for city centre break, spacious apartment, great view. good to have netflix and easy to self cater. close to the citipark for the car and the armoury. needed to be cleaned properly. moved the mats on the dining table to play a game and table was dirty underneath them. Bathroom shower area needs grouting cleaning and prefer not to find random hairs around it. could do with a bath mat.
- John (10/5): Brilliant - Everything absolutely fab Nothing
- Tracy (6/5): Great location, overall with some slight improvements it would be a great place to stay. - Great location. Very close to event and also easy to walk into the city centre for food. Couldn't get into the building in line with the instructions. Ended up with someone who lived there letting us in. Actually getting into the apartment was fine and easy in line with the instructions. Apartment needs a lick of paint and not as clean as it could be. Not much relevant cutlery in the drawer ie knives , forks, spoons.
- Russell (7/5): Good -
- Jackie (5/5): Messages not replied to, phone goes to voicemail. Access details to property don’t work. - It was spacious Access details for the building didn’t work and the contact number went straight to voicemail. Only got in the building as let in by someone else. Property not ready until 90 minutes after check in time anyway. Apartment was tatty. Cleaner however was lovely.
- Zaheer (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): Very convenient, quiet & secure, modern apartment - Very close to the Leeds Armouries museum and associated conference venue.
Spacious 4th floor apartment. Secure. Quiet.
Reasonably well equipped. Lacked bath mat.
Tesco Express really nearby for provisions. Bedroom carpet could do with a shampoo.
Bath could do with the black mould around the shower area removing. The bath itself could do with a deep clean, but was fine to stand in for a shower.
Heating was off on arrival and took a while to warm.
Couldn’t get BBC1 or BBC2 on either TV, but plenty of movie channels if you have the time to watch.
- Michelle (7/5): Good - Great instructions to get there, lovely location in great area was very happy location wise. The apartment was nice and light and spacious, perfect for 2 people for 2 nights. Would stay here again for what it is but wouldn’t want to pay the same price unless properly cleaned. Tv in living room was awful, was connected to the wifi but kept crashing and cutting off and couldn’t watch tv off wifi because no tv channels via satellite. Bed wasn’t very comfy. Cleanliness was poor, was dust and dirt like hadn’t been dusted or hoovered before stay. Just didn’t look very cleaned, especially considering the price for 2 nights.
- Dazo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Soha (9/5): This is a great flat for short stay in a convenient part of Leeds. - It was very convenient for the conference that I was attending which was being held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. The flat was comfortable and close to amenities. It was also a reasonable distance from the train station.
Any issues or problems were very promptly managed by the contact for the apartment. There were a couple of issues but these were dealt with by the contact looking after the property.
- Mohammed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (3/5): Wouldn’t recommend! - Great location The property was very dirty, the bathroom was disgusting and mouldy, the toilet mat was wet and soaked my socks when I stood on it. The property smelt of cigarette smoke and the floors were sticky and dirty.
- Charlotte (5/5): Passable - The owner was very clear with the instructions how to find the apartment and the access to get into it. BUT It was very dusty and dirty. The floor in the kitchen was sticky. The microwave was dirty and the oven. The kitchen sink smelt awful. There was an old cloth and manky scourer. All the sockets and skirtings were very dusty as were the mirrors. The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was disgusting. The toilet brush had faeces on it. The toilet lid and back of the toilet was very dusty. The sink was dusty and had water/ soap marks on the tap. You needed to be tall to see the mirror.
The shower was very dusty and scum all in the bottom which made us not want a shower. Didn't feel safe in there at all. If there was a fire we weren't told the fire exit.
I messaged the owner yesterday to tell him how it was and have had no reply. Well he's had our money so not bothered. I even asked for a refund but heard nothing
- Helen (6/5): Good value stay in comfortable apartment. Bathroom in need of a good clean especially around bath and, carpets/sofa - Great quiet location with view over dock Very tired in places and in need of a deep clean
- Covey (8/5): Very impressed - Was really impressed with the locality of the facility. If there was anything negative it would of been the bathroom facility as compared to the rest of the apartment this was the only thing that let it down.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Situation was fantastic Just needs a little bit of TLC bathroom not very good sum soft cushions and a few bits of artwork but we will definitely return place for us in leeds thank you
- Shazaib (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (8/5): Very good - Location extremely convenient. Clean and tidy. Amir was extremely helpful getting us into the flat and setting up Wifi and could be contacted easily. Swipe access to enter the block was very easy. Pillows could be of better quality. Grouting around bath tub/shower might need renewing. Bedroom door handle had to be linked to wardrobe door handle to stop door closing. Sofa stained.
- Krzysztof (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice place to stay.
Beautiful view.
- Khan (4/5): Brilliant place however bad bits in regards to the sofa and the shower floor and hot water issues - The view Stain marks on the sofas
Shower floor stained
- Pentara (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (4/5): View was fantastic, the apartment was really scruffy, needs painting throughout, the kitchen cupboards was all peeling, - The view It was scruffy
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (8/5): Good - Location and view There were tea towels, no wine glasses or pans to cook
- Kyle (10/5): great contact with the owner from the get go, messaged me to say the apartment was ready earlier than expected which was - lovely spacious apartment nothing
- Daniel (9/5): Prefect location - View overlooking the docks
- Nokulunga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheren (9/5): Short and sweet stay. - Really nice view (direct view to the dock). Enough space for two, and have two smart TVs. Everything is pretty clean and neat. A bit struggling to open the apartment door at first, but managed to do it with the landlord guidance. Hence, there’s nothing to complain really, all good.
- Wendy (9/5): Lovely flat at Sugarhill Docks. - Nice comfortable flat, Ahmed was very helpful in checking us in. A nice view over the Dock too definitely recommend a stay here as an alternative to a hotel. Bit tricky to find at first but that was not a problem as soon as Ahmed explained how to get there
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Abby (7/5): Good base for exploring Leeds and it's nightlife. - Great location at the docks. There are places to eat and drink and supermarkets too. The apartment was nice and warm, didn't need to use the heating at all. It was also quieter than I was expecting. It's good to have kitchen facilities. CitiPark car park is pretty decent and roomy - book it with Your Parking Space as it's much cheaper! Good communication from the hosts. Good that you don't have to meet up with anyone to get in and be tied to a time. The apartment is not pristine so if you are looking for luxury then look elsewhere. It is adequate enough for a weekend away if you plan to be out most of the time and you just need somewhere to eat/sleep/wash. It could do with some TLC in places such as a a lick of paint/new or clean carpet in bedroom and extras like a bathroom floor mat, some hand towels, a tea towel, hooks on the doors and a coat rack, a grill pan, a toaster and maybe a few cushions for the sofa. That said we managed fine and thought it better than staying in a stuffy hotel room. 11am check out would be nicer than the current 10am.
- Jake (5/5): Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay again. - The property is in a great location and has a brilliant view from the window over the docks. We were going to a venue very close by so it was perfect for this. I also appreciated the excellent communication from the host. Unfortunately the bath/shower had an awful lot of mould and just felt really unclean. One of my friends really wanted a shower but didn’t feel comfortable using it. The cupboard door for the washing machine needed replacing as well. We were also woken up at 4am by a neighbour playing really loud rap music. This is not the fault of the host but worth mentioning.
- Nikki (10/5): Exceptional - The instructions aren't too clear as they direct you to the first door for the block, whereas I needed to be in the second entrance further round. Also the phone number in the direct email is 1 digit wrong....
- Steve (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Very convenient and super easy to find and enjoy.
- James (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable property, excellent location and stunning views.
- Abi (10/5): loads of space and comfy room area. clean and taken care of apartment. hosts couldn’t have been any nicer. will be back - clean rooms and fresh bedding
pretty view of the docks
spacious nothing.
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Leandra (4/5): Disappointing -
- Taslim (10/5): perfect for our family meet up and the view from the window was picturesque.felt like a proper getaway x - the location, accessibility and cleanliness n/a
- William (10/5): Excellent - Brilliant location. Excellent communication with the host made it so easy to check in. Lovely view across Leeds dock and a wonderfully comfy bed! Would definitely recommend!
- Dod (10/5): A great experience. - It was welcoming and spacious
- Joanne (10/5): Perfect 😍 - Location was perfect. Apartment amazing , clean , spacious. Host left a card and chocolates for my daughter graduation, very kind gesture, thank you
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Neale (10/5): Great Stay - Great apartment, owner could not do enough for me when I mentioned a couple of missing items. Nothing not to like.
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anne (5/5): Flat adequate for a short stay if you are going to eat out. Nice position in Leeds Dock. - Position in Leeds was great for us. Nice view from Lounge. Comfortable and clean for a short stay. Owner was contactable by phone if needed. Front door of building was locked and we didn’t get fob until we were inside apartment. We had to wait until somebody came out of building to get in. A few instructions in flat would have been helpful with Wi-Fi code etc. Wi-Fi was advertised but there was no code to log onto it. Netflix on the TV we couldn’t access because 2 other users were already watching it. No saucepans or cooking pans if you did want to prepare a meal. No tea towels for drying dishes. Bathroom could do with regrouting and new sealant.
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional - It was good as described and had everything that's needed when visiting friends and family. Getting into the lobby was abit like Indian Jones lol, but that's being picky . 10/10 would defo book again
- Kayley (8/5): good apartment for location. has everything you need. - good location
- Kamal (1/5): dont bother - Good location, Tesco Express outside and restaurants
Looked like clean bed sheets and pillows
Large room
Mainly clean rooms I got a phone call and WhatsApp message at 11.30pm night before on how I get into the room
You have to tailgating other people like the other review said!
I stayed night after her and would not have if I saw review
The place did not feel safe and felt like council flats and I would be attacked any minute
Took me 5 mins to find the room - not clearly labelled directions
Fridge had leftover chinese in it
lamps with no bulbs in bedroom
Front door had two holes! and was only covered up with tissues in it!!
If you need somewhere near docks to stay then its a place I guess but I wont be staying again.
I stayed in an apartment last week and was shown around and was smaller but cleaner and had security and reception
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (1/5): Never again - Location on docks
Quiet once in room Only access via tailgating other residents
No fire protection and no identified escape routes
Apartment number not via signposted access which was confusing
Half empty milk in fridge
Sofa bed was a futon type sofa bed and no sheets or duvet with cover and no pillows with cases despite request to be made up
No light bulbs in bedroom
Holes in front door with tissues pushed in
Didn't feel safe
Corridors smell of cannabis
Stayed in lots of apartments before never like this one and my colleague who I ended up having to share bed with owns an apartment that she rents out for holidays and therefore knows standards required - shocking!
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
