• Maureen (7/5): - Off street parking. Room was beautifully furnished. Central location but no access to street without a stepped climb which would be a problem for some especially with baggage. Room is quite small so not good to relax in. No place to put anything except a hanging wardrobe. No instructions for heating system which didn’t respond

• Chris (10/5): Wonderful stay at Somerled House. Great spot in Portree close to all the restaurants. - Easy to find. Very clean and comfortable. Free parking on-site. There are stairs leading down to the the rooms. This said they were well built and easy to negotiate.

• Melanie (7/5): - L’emplacement ainsi que le parking sont appréciables, et la literie est de bonne qualité. Le prix est assez élevé par rapport aux services proposés. Concernant la chambre numéro 3, la chaleur y est difficilement supportable. Lorsque la fenêtre est ouverte, un projecteur lumineux reste allumé toute la nuit, ce qui peut gêner le sommeil. De plus, les personnes travaillant en dessous peuvent être bruyantes jusqu’à environ 2 h du matin, et la chaleur provenant du restaurant remonte également, rendant la chambre difficile à garder fraîche. Il est donc compliqué de dormir confortablement en gardant les fenêtres ouvertes. Un petit micro-ondes ou un équipement similaire serait un vrai plus. Lors d’un séjour de trois nuits, il peut également être difficile de se restaurer chaque soir, surtout qu’après 19 h, il est compliqué de trouver des options à proximité, même si un supermarché se trouve non loin, ce qui limite un peu les possibilités pour les repas du midi et du soir.

Nous avons eut très chaud, nous avions beau lasser la fenêtre ouverte nous n’arrivions pas à diminuer la température (même en baissant à fond le thermostat) la chaleur du restaurant en dessous remonte.

• Amy (9/5): - Absolutely gorgeous recently renovated rooms, super spacious rooms and bathroom, very comfortable for the price. Free parking. Free wifi. Somerled House doesn't show up on Google maps. A little hard to find, the emails prior to arrival was super helpful though. Parking is around the back of the building on York drive. Couldn't figure out how to walk out the front of the building, had to walk around the back streets and down to the main street.
• Melinda (8/5): Beautiful room and comfortable stay - Beautiful and clean room; close to the square and most restaurants. Probably not the best for those with a lot of luggage or mobility issues. There is gravel and many stairs to navigate before getting to the back door, plus a flight of stairs to the room.

Super freundlicher und angenehmer Kontakt mit den Vermietern. Toller Aufenthalt in einer super Lage mit besonderem Wohlfühlfaktor. Wir kommen gerne wieder! • Karen (10/5): We loved this place. Better than the pictures. - Very modern in an older building. It was very well designed. Very comfortable beds. Small fridge, coffee French press. Pot for hot water. Huge bathroom. Great shower. Great view. It’s above a restaurant, so you could hear people talking when the window was open. Long walk with stairs from parking spot.

• F. (9/5): Schöne Unterkunft in zentraler Lage, gut für Inselerkundungen - Sehr zentrale Lage, mit dem Auto gut erreichbar und komfortable Parkmöglichkeiten. Ein Supermarkt ist in nur fünf Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Zimmer ist schön und gepflegt, wenn auch nicht allzu groß – was uns jedoch bewusst war, da es der Beschreibung entsprach. Für uns war es eine sehr gute Wahl: Viele Insel‑Highlights liegen in der Nähe, und abends sind die Restaurants bequem zu erreichen. Der Check‑in über den Schlüsselkasten verlief unkompliziert und angenehm. Wir würden das Zimmer wieder buchen. Die Kleiderstange ist sehr hoch angebracht, was es für kleinere Personen etwas umständlich macht. Hier wäre eine niedrigere Aufhängemöglichkeit eine sinnvolle Verbesserung.

• Émilie (9/5): Portree - Nous avons aimé le confort de la chambre, la qualité du matelas, la déco très soignée, ainsi que l'emplacement. Les propriétaires ont été très réactif par messages lorsque nous en avons eu besoin. Le prix pour une nuit de 300€ reste assez élevé malgré la qualité des prestations.

The property requires many steps to get into (could be problem for guests with limited mobility). There is not an easy way to get into the town square. The cost was expensive for the unit.
• Natasha (8/5): Beautiful Property Right in the Heart of Town - We really loved our stay at Somerled House Suites. The property itself is charming, and one of our favorite parts was sitting by the window in the afternoon, listening to bagpipes in the town square. It felt like such a classic, peaceful Scottish moment. The room had everything we needed, and having on-site parking was a huge plus. The only thing to be aware of is the stairs, which other reviewers have mentioned. You do have to carry your luggage down a fair number of steps—and then back up again when you leave—so it’s something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with heavy bags.

De host was erg vriendelijk en de communicatie verliep snel en prettig. Het uitzicht op het pleintje maakte het helemaal af. Ik voelde me hier meteen thuis.

It wasn’t clear that there are different rooms when we booked so we were a little surprised that we were allocated a smaller room with a view over the back garden. Considering the price per night I feel we overpaid slightly.

• Javier (10/5): Preciosa habitación cuidada con esmero - En cada detalle se nota que los propietarios tratan de cuidar al huésped. Habitación amplia, bien decorada, luminosa, con parking y con un baño elegante y amplio. Hay un bar debajo, pero gracias a las dobles ventanas eso no fue un problema.

• Paul (2/5): - It was in excellent condition Everything was functional. I was in Portree Scotland downtown and the unit was above a bar. We had 2 Suites on the 3rd Floor. On Sunday there was a group outside the bar on the sidewalk who were loud and cursing. from 10.30pm to 12.30am. There must have been at least 10 of them. The next day I spoke with the bar manager and he said the music cutoff at 12.30 am but he could not control the people outside the bar. This kept us awake as well as the guests on the second floor. I will not stay here again

Bouilloire avec boissons chaudes. Beaucoup d'équipements (sèche-cheveux, repose valise, fauteuils, prises avec port USB). Il y avait même un adaptateur universel à notre disposition! Seul bémol: l'accès par de nombreux escaliers. Il ne faut pas être chargé ou à mobilité réduite.

• Brynna (10/5): - A very cute and quiet little stay in Portree. No staffing of the building, it was set-up more like a little airbnb vibe. The room was super cute, and very comfy-cozy. I was a big fan of the lighting they had in the bathroom. Overall a good little spot to crash for a night after a long day of driving. It would have been helpful to know that there were a bunch of stairs going down to the entrance. That could be an issue for other people booking in the future. And it could be helpful if there were instructions for using the heater in the room, especially if its a set-up travelers are not familiar with.

• Federica (10/5): tutto top - tutto molto pulito, c’era un adattatore, il balsamo e lo sciampo, una piccola guida su cosa fare, tè, caffè e biscottini, c’era smart tv con tutto, parcheggio, wifi…. tutto molto piacevole ci sono solo alcune scale prima dell’appartamento ma nulla di estremo considerando il fatto che a Skye c’è da camminare tanto. si trova proprio in piazza e sotto c’è anche una pizzeria abbastanza buona e a due passi un bar per fare colazione molto buono

La struttura si trova molto vicino al centro della piccola città di Portree, quindi nei pressi è stato facile trovare ristoranti e supermarket. Super chiare le indicazioni dell'host che ci ha spiegato in anticipo dove poter parcheggiare (la struttura ha un parcheggio incluso), come poter entrare e recuperare le chiavi dell'appartamento.

• Richard (9/5): A fantastic room in the very heart of Portree - My room was very very well appointed. Clean, fresh, well designed. Lovely bed linen, great walk in shower, fridge provided. Felt quite luxurious. There is no reception but joining instructions via messages were clear and timely, so no issues at all. The external door requires each guest to lock after arriving or leaving. When I was there, they didn’t! This means that the security of the building itself through the external door is not as good as it could be. If the door had self locking fittings when it closed, the issue would be solved. Doors to the rooms themselves were of course still personally lockable. And lots of steps! Be aware from the car it’s a climb down, not an issue for me but maybe more difficult for some. The stairs were well lit when dark.

• Zoe (10/5): Fantastic, would stay again in a heartbeat. - Great location and loved that parking was included. The size of the apartment was perfect. The bathroom was the showstopper, and it was lovely being able to soak in the bath after a long day of walking and exploring. For being so central, it was still lovely and quiet at nighttime. It was all exceptional.
• Richard (9/5): Really lovely place in the heart of Portree - Location was great in the middle of Portree. Great to have free parking out the back. Nice and clean room with plenty of space and really comfy bed. Bathroom facilities are fantastic, deep bath, sunflower shower and two sinks. Great to have some oat milk in the fridge too, nice touch! Great place to spend a few days. If you pack like my girlfriend does coming from the USA then be prepared for a workout carrying cases from the car to the building as there is a long path down the steep garden! It's above a restaurant with pub next door which I could imagine in summer and nice days will be a lot louder but isn't a massive issue just nice to know.

Bagno con doccia e vasca super, spazioso e facilmente riscattabile. Letto comodissimo. Le finestre si affacciano sulla piazza, vista molto carina, di conseguenza posizione top con un pub sotto casa fantastico per cibo, bere e atmosfera. Ottima fornitura di caffè con capsule Nespresso di vario tipo. Un pò scomoda l'unica entrata da dietro, con una serie di scale all'aperto, un pò noiosa sopratutto quando piove.
• Brennan (10/5): - This is a lovely self catered location, directions were easy to understand and follow for checking in, location was walkable and center of town, and the apartment itself was upscale and comfortable in every aspect. Zero complaints. Will return in the future
• Supriya (9/5): Comfortable - The location and the property is amazing. The rooms are stunning and extremely comfortable. The rooms are asthetically done and are extremely cozy. If you have heavy luggage then it’s a little difficult as one needs to stairs to get to the property.

Great bathroom, shower strong and hot. Illuminated makeup mirrors. Helpful owners are nearby. Would return to stay next time. Stepped pathway down to the property may be an issue for very elderly or someone lacking in basic mobility. Fine for guests with average fitness.

• Peter (9/5): Loved the room and the location. Stairs might be an issue for some. - Very convenient location and well set up. Enjoyed our stay. No one on site for questions about how to get the key back in the lockbox, but got a quick response to my email. Some things may be obvious to other travelers but weren't intuitive for us (like how to close the bathroom shade) Since no one to ask on site, would benefit from more complete instructions in the instructions left in the room., We had no trouble with the stairs (43 of them), but might be an issue for some.
• KF (7/5): Very good, but….. - The bed is very comfortable , pillows , towels and toiletries were excellent. As was the shower room. Coffee/tea /fridge facilities were very nice design but could do with another shelf. The main entrance and room have been done to a high standard and the property Is very warm and bright . Staff when we needed them were very helpful and friendly. The only entrance /exit is via the stairs at the rear of the building. Not for the faint hearted, elderly or infirm. Especially at night in winter months. The night lights are just not enough when it’s raining, and there is loose gravel And wet leaves on the stairs. The broken handrail should have been fixed the day It broke. The patio seating is great but no lighting around this area or bin. The room was beautiful, but very small and I was disappointed there wasn’t even room for a chair. For the price I would have expected this. A coat hook on back of door would be good, as the wardrobe was very small and cluttered. The property next door has a spotlight on all night shining into room 3 and for me the curtains Didn’t block it out. A window blind would help.
