- HoganKT (10/5): - We loved everything about our stay here!! Firstly, the family is so kind, welcoming and helpful. The daily breakfasts (eggs, fruit, coffee etc) were delicious, great food and menu on site and the option to go on safari at an excellent rate (we saw many elephants including two babies, we loved the guide who was informative and extremely respectful!). The room is spacious, extremely clean and comfortable with a kettle, fridge, hot water (shower), patchy but usable WiFi, a fan and AC available. The pool is a lovely touch on a hot afternoon. And even the location is ideal (we had our own tuktuk so that made it easier to get around but the hosts could arrange transport for you). Overall, a wonderful stay. Very happy to recommend, especially for a young family like ourselves!! Thank you so much to all the family. We will definitely be back!

We thought we would have great experience but there were loads of ants on the door, room was dusty and not cleaned properly. There were gaps between wooden floors and you can see grass. There were no towel rack in bathroom to hang your clothes and towel. No toiletry in bathroom. Old noisey AC. Dusty mosquito nets. Rusty fridge. Not enough lighting in the room. Not enough drinking water has been provided when I asked they wanted to charge for that as well. We have ordered dinner which wasn't pleasant and tasty. No room service. There were two frogs in the sink in the morning. Allover not good experience and not recommend to others. I would recommend home stay instead booking this hotel. Photos looks great on booking.com but facilities were not there as per price.

The rooms were simple yet comfortable, equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The swimming pool was a highlight for our kids—they thoroughly enjoyed spending time there. The overall experience was very enjoyable, thanks in large part to the warm and supportive staff, who were always attentive and eager to assist. Kolon Resort offers great value for money, and I would definitely recommend it. The breakfast is fairly basic, with fruits and breads, but it is perfectly reasonable considering the price point. Overall, a comfortable and satisfying stay.

- Arunoda Isuruwan (9/5): Peaceful Place with Friendly Staff - The staff were very flexible and kindly gave us nearby rooms as we requested. The breakfast was very good, and the place is very calm and peaceful. The pool was nice, and we really enjoyed it. They also arranged a safari for us, which was a great experience. Overall, it was very reasonably priced and good value for money.

- Verena & Rasso (8/5): Gute Unterkunft für einen vernünftigen Preis - Schöne Anlage, schöne Häuser, Preis-Leistung gut. Essen war ok, wir sind aber am zweiten Abend dann lieber woanders hingegangen. Personal ist sehr nett, aber die Verständigung auf Englisch könnte etwas besser sein. Sie kümmern sich aber um alles. Pool war auch ok, gibt aber eine rostige Abdeckung, da muss man etwas auf seine Kleinkinder achten. Im Zimmer könnte man das Licht ein wenig heller machen. Für einen 1-2 tägigen Aufenthalt empfehlenswert und gut. Bad ist ok, sagen wir: zweckmäßig und nichts für einen Langzeitaufenthalt , was aber in einem Baumhaus nicht erwartbar war.

Contratamos un safari con ellos y nos ofrecieron la posibilidad de hacer un curso de cocina y masajes. Nos quedamos con pena de poder probarlos. Los desayunos son tradicionales y copiosos. Las instalaciones eran mejorables. El aire acondicionado goteaba ( punto a favor, intentaron arreglarlo)

- Kristina (7/5): - Nice pool, great breakfast, delicious food. Staff is overall very kind, will prepare a meal for you anytime you want. Terrible bathroom, there was sand falling from our ceiling. We also had a bad experience with the tuk tuk our host got for us (i don't know where they get this guy). The price of tuk tuk at the end was much much higher then agreed with our host, and he also took us to places we did not agreed to, also to a "free" spice garden where we got scamed to buy fake products for a lot of money, pretty bad experience for our first stay in SriLanka.

- AmyLCat (7/5): Cute treehouse but a lot needs improving here - Cute treehouse type cabin, stunning jungle views from the balcony area. Pool was an added bonus after a hot day. Breakfast was good. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom which I wasn't expecting. Aircon and a fan, both worked well. Room was so small. No where to put our bags, had to opt for the floor. Could not unpack, not even a shelf, there were a few hooks to hang towels etc but not adequate. Kettle provided on a very low table in the corner, but no plug anywhere near. The only plug in the room was behind the bed, luckily I had an extra long phone lead - charging with a normal length one would have been an issue. It was not safe to move the kettle to behind the bed and to the floor to use - so we didnt use the kettle. The wooden banister upto the room was broken and loose and dangerous and a couple of the steps were wobbly. The lock to the cabin was faulty, we locked it the first time, went to the pool - came back and the door was open. It had locked but not clicked into place, meaning it was locked open. Poorly fitted lock. Lock to bathroom also did not lock on every occasion, it was best to keep this locked from the outside as we found frogs, cockroach etc in there - but its the jungle so this is normal, but just wanted to lock the door on every occasion to prevent them coming into the bedroom. Staff spoke barely any English, when we were leaving i needed to pay and even trying to sort this was difficult. Ordering food became complicated due to language barrier. By the pool - drain was left open, for no particular reason, quite dangerous. Im not normally one to leave negative comments but a lot needed to be improved here!

- Md (3/5): Avoid if you have other options. Charged us twice! - Not much, actually. Host were not very hospitable when we arrived. We have been charged twice. We have been advised to pay in Sri Lankan rupees, and we did this according to their price. After 2 hours, the owner lady came back knocking on the door, demanding 2300 SLR (Sri Lankan rupee) extra, saying a service charge which was not in the booking.com contract. I have said that, but she was not willing to accept it. My wife and I took one family room, and my sister's family another terrace room. I should avoid booking here, or if they demand more money, refuse to pay. I did it as we are already settled, and it was too late to book another place at 7 pm. I have seen a lot of people have a good time here, but mine was different.
- Katrien (6/5): Nice garden close to Sigiriya - Very quiet neighbourhood with beautiful garden and pool. Rooms were fine and the breakfast buffet was lovely. Short walks up the street lead to other eateries. Watch out for elephants though! If you arrive late for breakfast, food will run out. When you order at the restaurant at night, you have to wait very long before food arrives. A lot of extra costs were charged as we read in other reviews as well. Staff speaks little to no English.

But location may have mosquitoes But manageable,but it’s a family running business , so not expect high end service. But small hut looks good. Air conditioning not very much efficient.( it was not working for three hours then one of the staff fixed the electrical issue ) . Breakfast just the egg and breads, But overall acceptable service. There were new things in the breakfast buffet every day. A very relaxed place to stay! The food is great but take time so order before you get too hungry.

When he took us to Dambulla Cave we even took a detour to a herbal and spice garden which was super interesting. We saw over 30 elephants on a tour booked by the owner of the hotel! He organised everything for us!

It’s quiet and tranquil being a bit out of town, but easy to get a tuk-tuk in and out. We went on a great safari organised through reception with a pick-up and drop-off at the resort.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. We had a night flight to Sri Lanked and we were planning to do some tours at arrival. We felt extremely tired after arriving so I asked the host if we could check in early already at 7 am since we wanted to sleep. It was no problem at all. They were so welcoming and offered us tea and coffee. Room was comfortabele and breakfast was very delicious. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

- Clare (9/5): A very special place in the jungle with refreshing pool, delicious food and kind, helpful people. - We loved our stay in the treehouse - a real novelty for the children. It is basic, but clean, comfortable and quiet, in tropical surroundings. The pool is lovely and we enjoyed the food at the onsite restaurant. The staff were really friendly and helpful, arranging fairly priced transfers and tuk-tuks for us whenever we needed, as well as an excellent ethical elephant safari that was a highlight of our trip. They even kept us supplied with delicious bananas for the duration of our stay after we told them how much our daughter loved them! Being a wooden hut in a tree in the jungle you are surrounded by nature - pet geckos, frogs jumping out of the plug etc - but this only added to our experience! The mosquito nets were fit for purpose and we just kept our luggage closed! Not an issue for us, but worth noting the shower was little more than a cold trickle and there were a lot of mosquitos around due to the amount of rain and stagnant water, so lots of DEET needed! Could benefit from a few cushions on the pool loungers. The location is a little out of the main town, so less handy if you are looking to eat out of an evening... It suited us to stay put though after busy days' exploring.

- Amith (1/5): Bad - location I really don't recommend this place. The electricity went out frequently at night and the bathroom was not clean at all. They told me that the Sri Lankan people who came earlier had lost their keys so there were no keys.They told me that the Sri Lankan people who came before them had lost their keys and there were no keys. That's not fair, not everyone is the same because there's no point in a room without a key, I spoke to the owner of the property and he did not admit their mistake. They said that there were no Sri Lankans visiting their property and after a few days they cancelled my booking. But I did take pictures of it while I was there.The bathroom is very unpleasant. Everything in it is broken. You don't even need to use electricity in the bathroom to heat the water. There is no electricity here to use it. These people are really stupid.
- Lee (8/5): Quirky and close to everything: Sigiriya, Anaradapora,Polonaruwa - The tree house was quirky and having the balcony was a nice touch. It might not look like you’re in the jungle but it has a jungle feel and the animals that come with that. If you don’t want to go out for dinner the owners can make a tasty kottu. The circuit breaker for the A/C and water pump kept tripping.

- Helen (7/5): Needs a lot of TLC. - The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The toilet wouldn't flush. Our room was very basic. No wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes. No real space to put anything from your case. There was a pool which was nice but the beds were so uncomfortable it was impossible to lay out there.
