Guest Reviews
- Boyd Taylor (9/5): Wonderful location - Fabulous hillside location with superb views from the bedroom and the living room verandas. Large rooms. Each bedroom had its own bath/shower room. Lovely rustic building. Friendly and helpful owner. We were sorry to leave and would be happy to return in the future. No minus points, but be aware that the villa is located over a mile up a bumpy dusty track, that didn't bother us though.
- Vigo (10/5): Retiro ideal - Casa muy bien equipada. Dueño muy amable. Tranquilidad total en medio de la naturaleza. Para repetir.
- Julia (7/5): I would really recommend this house, but I do feel that the description needs to be amended. - The view from the three balconies across beautiful countryside to Gibraltar, and on a clear day, the Atlas Mountains in Morocco is absolutely spectacular.
The property is spotless, and the caretaker very helpful.
The pool is very nice with a good shaded seating area and comfortable sun beds.
The beds are very comfortable, and there are plenty of drawers and hanging space. Pool not easy to access from the house. Had to walk round the outside, so tricky with drinks and snacks. In properties we've stayed before, we have had direct access onto the pool from the house.
Was not made clear that the house is divided into three separate locked sections. The main house has two bedrooms, one with balcony. The separate apartment has one bedroom with balcony, then there is a separate room with bathroom, no balcony. We had assumed it was all one house. This was not a problem as all six in our party were adults but I feel it would be problematic with children.
The dining area near the barbecue isn't great. We moved the inside dining table onto the balcony so that we could take in the amazing view. This having been said, we still really enjoyed our stay.
- Rosalea (1/5): Not what's advertised - The location of the property was lovely. Nice views and easily accessible. NOT A HOUSE AS ADVERTISED, WHAT YOU RECEIVE IS A TINY APARTMENT DIRECTLY ABOVE THE OWNERS.
The advert on Booking.com stated that you'd be staying in a 4 bedroom house, with all the privacy of your own home. This is not what you receive.
There is a house on the property. The owners live on the ground floor and have converted the first floor into three 'apartments'.
We were allocated one of these upon arrival. Not the 4 bedroom house we were promised when booking.
The apartment was very basic, and received the sun all day. Meaning that by the time night came round, the place was a sauna. There was no fan to help with circulation, and you couldn't even open the windows to try and get some air because there were no mosquito nets and without them you'd be eaten alive while you try to sleep.
In addition, there were ants in the property, no sharp knives, and mouldy chopping board.
I'm very disappointed I've used Booking.com for years and never experienced anything like this before.
When I reached out to the owners to complain, they refused my claims. Even though the information is clearly visible on Bookings to this day. Nowhere does it reference that you'll be staying in an apartment (house is specifically detailed everywhere!), and that this isn't private, but situated directly above the owners. Bookings offer no help in resolving this either.

- John (9/5): Lovely secluded house with rustic charm. Ideal as a base to explore a beautiful part of Spain. - The secluded property is situated overlooking an idyllic, picturesque valley with amazing views where you can gaze across to Gibraltar and the north coast of Africa. It is a great location to explore the surrounding countryside with its pretty white villages. If you want a place to disconnect then this is for you. There are plenty of hikes and amazing restaurants all within half an hour’s drive in this undiscovered gem in a beautiful part of the world. The historic town of Ronda is a short drive away too. Our friendly host Francisco was readily at hand to see to any of our needs. We were not able to fully enjoy the outside of the property because of the bad weather, which is no one’s fault, so we spent most of our 3 day weekend sitting around the log fire, which I suppose isn’t that bad.
