• Sarah (8/5): Very good - The hotel is small, but very comfortable. Breakfast could be served at the hotel itself, or in another hotel with a beautiful view: Hotel Astria. We loved the view and the terrace there so, so much. Personally, I found the room lovely, but it was right next to the reception. Our room door also had quite an opening under it, so no airtightness, so to speak. I found it very hard to relax 100%, because of that. I had the impression everybody could hear us all the time. I was aware of every noise on the hall.

• Haroon (10/5): Great stay at Lumina Boutique - The property was clean, the staff were welcoming, and the breakfast was great. They did a fantastic job. The rooms were cleaned regularly. Would I stay again if visiting Istanbul? Absolutely. The location is next to Sulaymaniyah Masjid, Egyptian bazaar, Mahmut pasa bazaar, grand bazaar and the Eminonu Pier. Thank you all for the hospitality.

• Kavinda (4/5): Disappointing - Owner was very helpful 1. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed us that we were fortunate to be staying in a luxury room. However, the room’s condition did not align with what one would expect of such a standard. This raises concerns about the quality of your standard rooms. 2. The room lacked a kettle, which I requested. I was informed that it would only be available the following day, but even then, it was not provided. Additionally, tea-making items were only available at reception, which is inconvenient for guests expecting in-room amenities. 3. There was a significant issue with the air conditioning unit in the room. It had a leak, and I was awakened at 6:00 a.m. due to water dripping onto my face, which caused considerable discomfort.

It was so warm and cozy inside, that my daughter cried when we were leaving. She loved it that much. Everything is nearby and the boys working there, especially Lokman were just so helpful. • Vali (7/5): Space improving! - The stuff, from the cleaning lady to the manager, are very ķind, problems solving persons (and believe me, there are many, considering the building condition...), ready yo offer any support you might need!!! The room light was pretty poor and the view from my window was terrible. The window itsself was very poor, I heard the outside noise, the windy and cold air, and all above, the water infiltration (2 days out of 4, was raining, while I stayed there). The room design is very bad, the hanging very, very high!!! No support for suitcases, the shower was working inappropriate! These are only few things which I didn't like.

Stuff was very nice, they helped us out with a lot of things, they even prepare early breakfast for us because we were leaving in the morning. There is a metro station next to the building. It took us around 30 minutes walking to Sultanahmet.
• Ioana (7/5): it’s cheap for some reasons - The personnel was 10/10. They bring your breakfast to bed if you want to. The best doner in Istanbul is near the hotel. 1. the location is actually the borderline between the real deep ghetto and main street. 2. there are mosquitoes and some other bugs so you have to close the window and turn on the air conditioning-but it smells like fart. 3. no room for storing luggage and other stuff. 4. the parking man tried to tricked us of course.

• Witold (3/5): some local ring a bell during the night waking up everyone - Location is very good, close to a metro, bus, tram as well as to the grand bazar. Comfortable bed. I believe this was a cheapest room and has no window to my surprise. Extremely small room! It is very close to a musk and you will be waken up every morning at 4 am! It is a very small hotel with a few rooms only. Moreover in the last night (after 12 am) somebody was standing at the corridor and spoke loudly by a phone. After telling him that this is a night time he left the hotel, and around 2 am, he came back and started to ring the hotel bell a few times. Message to the owner: you can check on cameras whom you can thanks for lowering the score for this hotel in my review. I believe this was somebody local who has access to the hotel.

• Mohamed (1/5): Bad - Nothing Disgusting and very disappointing. First of all, this isnt a hotel its more of a “motel”. Second, it says that it had a “bed and breakfast” but when we asked where would we have our breakfast they said that it is in another place “motel” and we will have to go there or they would get our breakfast served in our rooms, and the other “motel” was 10 minutes walking and on a very draggy street plus the stairs of that motel was very very hard to climb we were literally out of breath. Third, the room always ALWAYS smelled very bad, it had a very weird and disgusting smell, the sheets werent clean, it had stains they had a paper put on the door that says sheets are cleaned every two days but the stain was there for the whole 5 days. We were even disgusted to use the towels, the bed cover also had a stain and when we complained he asked to see the stain as if we were lying or sth. Fourth, the paint of the ceiling literally shedded over our stuff, we would wake up seeing paint over our luggage and clothes. Fifth, the stairs didnt have rails for us to hold on and it was hard for some of us especially when we were carrying the luggage or any bags. Sixth, some amenities werent available at first we had to ask about them which isnt logical at all, you said that you are gonna provide something so you should provide everything you said from the very beginning Seventh, the curling wire of the window was torn and we had to have our window always closed in order not to have any cats coming in. Eighth, the only bulb in the room wasnt working But to be honest Lokkman tried to help whenever he could.

The location could be a little nicer. At the moment (Dec 2023) there is a construction site just opposite of the hotel, it's dark in the streets and a very busy avenue is nearby.

The room is very clean too. Special Thank you to the staffs Lokman and Madam Noor for your pleasant hospitality and super accomodative during my stays. As with other antique hotels in Istanbul, there is no elevator. There is no options of breakfast where you can choose.

• Farhan (8/5): Friendly Staff, Loqman was very helpful, near the metro and other sites - First, The staff was really helpful. Loqman, especially, was super helpful with general guidance and advice and a good conversation. Lumina management should reward him for his service. The hotel is close to the metro lines and walking to near by sites are also close. Road noise is low at night. The hotel is small without a lobby and rooms are clean, good mattress but lacks a sitting area inside the room. Overall service and friendly staff makes it a good stay.
• Piero (9/5): Superb - Central position: right in front of Haliç Metro station, 5 minutes walking from the tram stop to Fener/Balat, 10 minutes walking from Galata Bridge, 30 from Agia Sophia and Blue Mosque. You are really in the middle of everything, at the edge of bazaar area (very crowded roads), not the cleanest spot in the city. The hotel is a tiny relaxing oasis, with spacious rooms and nice decor. The staff is really polite and helpfull (Ömer helped me to find a parking for the car, assisted me throughout my stay and gave me a couple of perfect restaurant suggestions!) And will provide you with all you may need. I would recommend this place to everyone. Little space in the Bathroom for your toiletries
• Baeva (9/5): It was a great choice for one night in Istanbul. - Great location, in walking distance to most famous sights, very close to the metro station, so you can go to any part of Istanbul. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast served on the roof terrace was great. It was a bit noisy, in the morning you can hear seagulls and cats screaming. May be, I could hear it because I am a light sleeper.

• Henri (9/5): Excellent cheers guys - Highly recommend. It’s a small but cozy hotel, with great rooftop terrace and nice room. Really appreciate that they’re using furniture and items sold locally in the neighbourhood, and also provide breakfast from the local cafe which tasted excellent. The host Lokmen was amazing, very friendly and helpful all the time. Made our trip memorable and felt like we could rely on him for local tips and recommendations so we’re not lost. Amazing guy. Random but minifridge in the wardrobe might not be a very good idea? Worth checking as the wardrobe felt hot like an oven when the doors are closed. Great to dry off damp clothes tho.

• Tayssir (9/5): Excellent! - The location is great, close to a metro station which goes to anywhere in Istanbul as well as bus station. There are many restaurants and cafés nearby. The Egyptian bazaar and Eminonu are close (15 mins by foot). The room was very clean. The staff where kind and helpful especially Lokman (thank you so much). It is perfect for its value of money. Since the Hotel is in Fatih so don’t expect it to be in a new square. You may be hesitant to book it because of the old neighborhood. We were too but we didn’t regret because it is secure and there many local shops and cafés and everyone there is nice. The rooftop view is amazing! We enjoyed drinking a cup of tea while seeing galata tower and suleymaniye mosque. We definitely recommend it! The only thing is that the room wasn’t not isolated very well and street light pass through even the black curtains of the room. You can bring an eye mask and earplugs with you and the problem is solved!

Very close to the Cobac co-working if you need to work and surrounded by some of the most amazing mosques. A short walk from the Galata Bridge, and those delicious fish sandwiches! Haliç metro is the nearest way to get around. Not much to say!

The staff is so friendly and eager to help. if you are a light sleeper, this is NOT your place. I couldn’t sleep for two nights, mostly because the sound insulation is almost non existent (you can hear people flushing toilets and conversations). My room was at the front desk and I was constantly being waken up by noises. And because it’s in the old town, you will hear the prayers almost if you were in the mosque. The bed was uncomfortable too and couldn’t sleep well because of that
• Wira (10/5): We enjoyed our stay in this hotel - The room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. Tea and coffee are always available for our consumption. The location is good and quiet, not far from Halic metro station. The heater works fine and the hot water and the water pressure are very good. The staffs are helpful. We could drop off our luggage before check-in and store it for a few hours after check-out. I would love to return back there if there is any other occasion. Big thanks to Omer and Lokman. No place to put soap and shampoo in the shower.

• Morgane (9/5): Superb - The staff were really welcoming and available to any questions or requests. The neighborhood has the soul of a turkish village, not the typical tourist spot. Knowing a bit of turkish, just the basics, can be helpful. It's a great place, lots of restaurants, street food, stores. And it's really accessible by transports (metro, bus, trams) and the ferry is only 10 mins away by walk. As it is not a big tourist spot, the neighborhood doesn't necessarily have the comfort you would expect from a big hotel. The water pressure, for example, is quite hard to manage at first but you'll get the hand of it soon enough. Remember to get along with the quality of life that comes with lower financed neighborhoods. We loved it anyway and didn't affect at all our experience. + the rooftop is really great
• Omerab (9/5): Great (mini) hotel - Great Stay for me quit room and room service clean the room every day small and cozy room new modern mini hotel great value for the money there is a relatively close parking (paid) nearby bathroom is good too nice host and good english No elevator. for me it wasn't a problem i have only empty bag but if you have luggage you will need to go up without elevator only stairs but the reception did offer to help so i think you will be okay

• Jp_can (8/5): Good hotel in a convenient location - The location is very convenient, very close to public transport and tourist sites. Berkan at the reception is exceptional with service. The washroom could do with a little maintenance, water clogged in the shower area.
