• Malkin (10/5): Good for a couple of nights - Good location . Basic dorm but nice showers and beds were comfy with curtains. Not much atmosphere

• Saskia (2/5): Muss nicht sein - Die Lage war gut. Der Flur roch total ekelig und schäbig. Die Krönung war allerdings das Zimmer. Hier roch es nach kaltem Zigarettenrauch. Auch die Klimaanlage hat das nicht besser gemacht. Es war sehr laut und hellhörig. Das Zimmer war einigermaßen sauber. Die Waschmaschiene konnte wegen der Wasserversorgung nicht genutzt werden, duschen war jedoch kein Problem.

Situé au centre de Sandakan, qui n’est certes pas la ville la plus excitante, mais l’hôtel reste super par rapport aux autres du coin. Possibilité de louer des scooter pour 50RM
• BETTY (10/5): Super Guesthouse recommandée à 100% - Vraiment, ne cherchez pas ailleurs, cette petite guesthouse coche toutes les cases C'est propre, calme, bonne literie, bons échanges en amont. Salles de bain partagées très propres, eau chaude et bon débit Bon wifi Cuisine partagée Emplacement parfait Possibilité louer scooter Machine à laver et sèche linge sur place Nous avons pris l'excursion pour le fleuve avec eux Super rapport qualité-prix

Me quedé una noche en habitación compartida y en habitación privada, ambas recomendadas. Localización excelente al lado del mall. Tiene cosas muy útiles como lavadora, secadora, cocina, agua potable, juegos, etc. muy recomendado. Ofrecen excursiones ahí en el hostel que me hubiese gustado saber antes! Baratas y buenas
• Moore (10/5): - Great location, great price. Has laundry machine for use. It is a hostel so shared bathroom but clean. Friendly staff. I booked for a night and stayed an extra 2 nights. I had trouble working the front door lock but that is a me problem. They were very helpful in buzzing me in.

Kontaktovali jsme majitele a velice rychle reagoval a pokoj nám vyměnil. V recepci je k dispozici fontána s vodou, jen neteče studená, spíš vlažná

• Janine (9/5): - Tolle und zentrale Unterkunft. Perfekter Ausgangspunkt zum wandern. Die Matratzen in den Zelten waren bequem. Kaaz, der Host, ist sehr gesprächig und gibt einen gute Tipps für die Gegend. Für Menschen mit leichten Schlaf empfehle ich Oropax mitzunehmen.

• Sagarika (10/5): Comfortable, convenient and well-equipped - Location was great! Very close to shops and restaurants. 7/11 right next door too which was super convenient and felt safe. Easy to get a Grab to all popular destinations as it was conveniently located. They even let me have a room for an additional couple of hours a few days after I’d checked out to shower and relax before my onwards journey at no additional cost! Very thoughtful, helpful and communicative staff throughout. Also washer + dryer onsite was super helpful! Would stay again. Nothing

• Gergana (8/5): - It was clean, the location was great and the WiFi was reliable. It was very quiet, I saw only 1 guest for 2 days. It is great option for a budget stay. The hallway and bathroom area are abit outdated, it would be great if it is refreshed and updated a bit. But still - it was clean everywhere. The area around the hostel is a bit dirty and dodgy at night, but it has nothing to do with the hostel. The location is very central, but there are cockroaches and rats on the streets at night …
• Jacqueline (7/5): - Our room was pretty big and comfortable and the shared bathrooms were kept in a clean condition. We were able to use the kitchen and the fridge. The hostel was located in a central area of Sandakan. The room next to ours was used by a staff member for smoke breaks (window open, using the fan to blow it out), and although our window was closed, the smoke would constantly seep into our room. Also, we were above the 7-Eleven so smoke seemed to waft up from the street as well.

• MANON (9/5): Parfait - Établissement propre et calme. La literie est très confortable, digne d’un hôtel, avec une vraie couverture et un excellent matelas. Des serviettes sont mises à disposition, et vous avez également accès à une machine à laver, un sèche-linge, une petite cuisine ainsi qu’un réfrigérateur. Le ménage est effectué tous les jours. Les douches sont propres, avec de l’eau chaude et une bonne pression. L’absence de personnel dans l’hostel peut être un peu déroutante : l’arrivée comme le départ se font de manière totalement autonome. Même si tout est bien expliqué à l’avance, cela peut surprendre.

• Jake (9/5): Convenient and clean stay in central Sandakan, close to local amenities - Good value for money stay in central Sandakan, close to shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable, with good AC and wifi connection. Facilities were very clean and it was useful to have access to a kitchen area (including complimentary tea and coffee). There is not a lot to do in the city and the local area is not particularly walkable. We tried to hire a bike from the hostel but unfortunately they had to cancel due to damage

• Elli (8/5): Does the job - Good for the money, washing and cooking facilities. Bedrooms and bathrooms were relatively clean. Would only recommend staying in the area for one night there’s nothing to do. Just a good base to go and see the Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary!

• Aubrey (7/5): Great location, kind personnel, no nonsense accomodation (basic) however justified with price paid. - Great location, for the price paid it was a good accomodation , in the sense that obviously there's basic common kitchen and bathroom and bedroom but again, very aligned with the price you pay. The room I had was big which was pleasant aswell and the personnel was kind and lovely. It takes a bit of figuring out how to open the door, etc.. Might be me though Im a bit of a clutz in this matter.

Dafür war die Unterkunft perfekt gelegen, mit eine - Die Unterkunft liegt zentral, man muss keine Anstrengungen unternehmen um irgendwo hinzukommen. Toilette und Dusche sind außerhalb des Zimmers. Es gibt eine Waschmaschine und einen Trockner.

We even decided to book it again after coming back from the river tour. They also rent cars, scooters and help with booking tours, busesz etc. All you need in one place :)

Super jest to, że na miejscu można skorzystać z pralki i suszarki. Jest czysto, schludnie i lokalizacja też jest bardzo dobra. Polecam

• Laura (5/5): Günstige Unterkunft, aber maximal für einen kurzen Aufenthalt geeignet. - Gute Lage, günstiger Preis. Gute Kommunikation mit dem Personal bei WhatsApp. Zimmer sauber. Funktionierende Klimaanlage. Überall roch es extrem nach Rauch, das war äußert unangenehm. Die Bäder waren nicht hygienisch, da dort überall Kunstrasen auslag, in dem sich das ganze Wasser gesammelt hat, perfekte Grundlage für Keime. Personal vor Ort so gut wie nicht existent, Kommunikation läuft nur über WhatsApp, was dafür aber gut funktioniert.

For price, a decent place to stay. Given the limited places in town, this was not a bad option. Decor and amenities were basic. Though decently clean, could be a bit cleaner.
