I love this cute cozy hotel on the river, it is sooo relaxing sitting in the front porch under the fan waving at the boats going by lol, its quiet, clean and the mattress was perfectly soft and comfy, not hard like many Indian mattresses, i paid extra for air com given this time of year and slept so food, the management are AWESOME to say the least, abundance of info, i took the uncovered shikara boar just before sunrise and it was so relaxing and gorgeous- hardly any one around and great to get to the very small canals - they will order food for you from a nearby restaurant which is really good, plus he can arrange the beer guy to bring you icy cold beers - i will be back !! 9pm Nothing - all was great
• Ronan (6/5): Fine - Lovely canal view with great seating area to watch boats go by. The wooden buildings had a lot of character. The hot water can only be used from the tap, not the shower. The AC was an additional charge of 500 per day which was turned off externally from our room during our stay more than once. Expensive when considering alternative accommodation.

Whoever enjoys the nature can opt for this Room size and the beds. 2 single beds and are so old not so comfortable we can say this room is for people looking for economic price but at the same we can’t find the location in star hotels. So overall good

• John (8/5): - Beautiful dark wood rooms and verandas. Right by the water, so lots of waving to people on houseboats as they float by. Very quiet at night. Good value. Bit out of the way, so you need to order food in the evening to be delivered.
• Silvia (8/5): Gute Wahl für die Backwaters - Sehr freundlicher und extrem hilfsbereiter Manager. Er hat sich wirklich um alles gekümmert, was wir gebraucht haben. Die verschiedenen Bootstouren starten praktisch direkt von der Unterkunft aus und man wird auch wieder dorthin gebracht. D.h. man kann ganz bequem schon sehr früh starten. Die Aussicht ist auch wirklich sehr sehr toll. Frühstück wird von der Unterkunft angeboten. Es gibt dort kein eigenes Restaurant, essen muss bestellt werden und wird auch geliefert, ist aber nicht so toll. Dadurch wird auch jede Menge Plastikmüll produziert. Vor allem, wenn man zwischendurch mal etwas anderes als Wasser trinken möchte ist es schwierig. Wasser steht kostenlos zur Verfügung. Zum Essen kann man aber auch problemlos mit der Riksha in die Stadt fahren. Die Zimmer sind aus Holz und vor allem dadurch auch sehr hellhörig, was uns aber nicht so stark gestört hat.
• Philipp (8/5): Tolle Unterkunft mit hilfsbereitem Personal! Bad hätte sauberer sein können. - Tolle Lage direkt am Kanal. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir konnten über die Unterkunft eine tolle Ganztagestour in den Backwaters buchen. Essen kann man bei einem Restaurant bestellen, dass direkt in die Unterkunft geliefert wird. Kleines Frühstück (Tee, Früchte, Toast, Omelette) gegen Aufpreis erhältlich. Mückennetze vorhanden, abends gab es Räucherstäbchen gegen die Mücken. Trinkwasser kostenlos vorhanden. Das Bad war nicht sehr sauber und hat komisch gerochen. Die Unterkunft ist nur über einen kurzen Feldweg zu erreichen, könnte für mobilitätseingeschränkte Menschen ggf. ein Problem sein. Der Rest war top!

• Johanna (10/5): All good, we were very happy! - It’s such a beautiful property, wooden style everywhere, the staff, especially Jeswin is super kind and absolutely keen to support you with any wish. The property is nice to chill out and enjoy the backwaters view! They will also help you booking any boat trips! We had the lower level room and could hear every foot step from above.

• Chrysi (8/5): Great Views - Great location, right on the backwaters, and away from (yet close to) the noisy city. The staff is very helpful, and the room cozy. Spending time on the verandah at nights and early morning was the best, since it is so calm and relaxed. The room was a bit smelly, because of the freshly varnished wood. And also, the ground floor room was a bit noisy because of the wooden floors, so you can hear everything from upstairs.

• Rémi (9/5): Génial ! - Chambres charmantes dans un chalet tout en bois, très beau, et avec une superbe vue (vraiment) sur la rivière. Très calme (pas de scooters ni voitures) hormis quelques Houseboats avec la musique à fond, mais c’est pittoresque et bon enfant. Et enfin l’accueil est excellent : Jeswin et Jose sont hyper dispos et vraiment sympas, de bon conseil et à l’écoute de nos envies sans chercher à nous vendre absolument quelque chose. Rien !

The air conditioning from the room next door was very noisy and it was on most of the day and night which made staying outside not very enjoyable. The was also noise from the boats. Finally, the walls were just a thin wooden panel which let all the voices from next room clear to hear.

L accueil de Jeswin et de tout le personnel est attentionné, et ils sont vraiment disponible. Un besoin, ils trouvent la solution, magique je vous dis... J'ai effectué un massage qui était au top. La ballade en Shikkara boat au levé du soleil était superbe. Merci 🙏 - un petit meuble ou étagère dans la salle de bain serait le bienvenu car il n'y a rien pour poser les affaires de toilette. - les chambres sont en bois c'est magnifique mais le revers de la médaille, il n'y a aucune insonorisation.

• julien (10/5): Original - L’emplacement est assez incroyable, on peut observer les bateaux passés depuis le balcon. Nombreuses possibilité d’excursion en kayak , canoë etc juste au pied de l’hôtel. Le staff a été vraiment serviable . il vous faut absolument la climatisation dans la chambre, étant donné la chaleur et l’humidité qu’il fait. Il n’y a pas de restaurant a l’hôtel ni très accessible. Donc il faut commander au staff qui vous livre via un restaurant entre 30mn et 1h. Il n’y a également pas beaucoup de table ou pouvoir manger, vous devez manger sur votre balcon. Bref la bouffe c’est compliqué. Mais tout le reste rattrape ce petit problème

• Camille (10/5): Exceptional - This was beautiful, Jose was exceptional in his help, very friendly , efficient, best we have had in the 10 days in Kerala He even went a got me a jug to boil water for tea and tea bags etc, in the evening so I could have tea while watching the boats at sunset I wished we hadn't stayed in a boat overnight the night before, and come here and gotten a boat from this canal. The area is quiet , peaceful , beautiful and clean. The rooms have aircon for an extra 500 rupees and great fans in room as well and on balcony with recliner chairs Breakfast was good and Jose helped us order a delivery of food from a restaurant nearby for dinner which was delicious..and even milkshakes. Can't rate this place highly enough, good price exceptional stay and I had a Ayuvedic massage in the property for 1700 for 1xhr, very good 10/10 allowed and tgey organised car fir 5 hr trip next day, putting ourclimuggage on a motorbike up to the road Nothing we loved our stay

• Kirsty (8/5): - What a lovely spot on the side of the river! We loved lounging on the balcony and watching the locals paddle past. The staff Jose and Jeswin were so genuine and friendly, and made us feel so welcome. They also provided us a map for a nearby walk, which took us about 2-3hr walking past local homes, fields, and came back via boat. It was a relaxing stay. The shower was barely working, it was enough to have a quick wash but not enough to wash my hair unfortunately. We opted for fan only and no AC as it's additional cost, and managed to sleep but it does get quite warm so it may be too uncomfortable for some people, then I would recommend to opt for AC.

Jeswin est un hôte très accueillant et très serviable, il arrange des tours en bateau (de divers types: privés ou non, sur une journée ou demi-journée, du kayak au bateau à moteur....) à prix très compétitif, et il est toujours disponible pour aider ses clients (conseils, prêt de bouilloire, taxi, info diverses, local pour les bagages...). Le resort est super bien situé, les chambres charmantes (attention toutefois à prendre avec AC si vous ne supportez pas la chaleur), et on peut prendre le petit déjeuner sur place, comme commander un déjeuner ou un dîner dans un restaurant partenaire. Bref, merci beaucoup nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour ! Rien !

And the very helpful and skilled staff, who arranged tuk tuks, a yoga lesson with a master, a massage on site and a boat trip, all in the space of one day, exceptional service ! The wooden building is beautiful, according to my brother who was traveling with me it was the most charming of our whole trip in India.
• Christophe (10/5): Un logement parfait pour observer les backwaters - Une vraie petite pépite, un peu éloignée de la côte mais facilement accessible en tuk-tuk, et je ne regrette absolument pas le détour. La chambre était magnifique, entièrement décorée en bois avec table, armoire et lit équipé d’une moustiquaire. Très joli, literie confortable, et pas besoin de climatisation en janvier. La petite terrasse donne directement sur les backwaters et le bruit des moteurs ne m’a pas du tout gêné. Le personnel est aux petits soins ! Après m’être ouvert l’orteil quelques jours plus tôt, le gérant s’est donné beaucoup de mal pour trouver une crème antibiotique introuvable ailleurs, qui m’a même été apportée sur le seuil de ma chambre. Un grand merci pour cette aide précieuse ! Il n’y a pas de restaurant à proximité, mais le logement a un partenariat avec un établissement qui livre : nourriture très bonne et assez épicée, avis aux palais avertis ! J’ai réservé un massage directement au sein du logement. Il s’est terminé 5 minutes plus tôt que prévu, n’était pas exceptionnel et le cadre n’était pas vraiment agréable.

• Andreas (9/5): Ein großartiger Aufenthalt! - Wenn das Malayalam Lake Resort während unseres 5-tägigen Aufenthaltes nicht komplett ausgebucht gewesen wäre, müsste man die Unterkunft als absoluten Geheimtipp bezeichnen. Fantastische Lage (man fühlt sich mitten in den backwaters) und mit Jeswin Thomas ein großartiger und aufmerksamer Besitzer. Ein paar Tropfen mehr Wasser aus der Dusche wäre klasse.

• Alexandra (9/5): Envoutant ! - Had a great 2 nights stay in this property. Would definitely stay there again instead of Alleppey downtown. First, the owner Jeswin is simply the most dedicated host, and do everything to make your journey memorable. Then, the property is pretty nice and quite peacefull, and gives you a sneak peek of the backwaters lifestyle beyond the usual tourist tour. At last, the massage with the local lady was simply amazing, she’s definitly the most experimented body therapist i ever met. Malheureusement les 3 jeunes filles du dessus ont été bruyantes jusqu'à 1h du matin, il n'y a pas d'isolation phonique du tout. Je recommande de prendre une chambre à l'étage pour éviter ce genre de désagrément, mais ça ne m'empechera pas de revenir !

Eau purifiée à volonté, petit déjeuner à la carte et repas sur commande possibles sur le balcon de la chambre. The lakeside location is beautiful and a great place to hang out though it's only a short auto ride into town. The owners are very friendly and so helpful regarding ordering in food, arranging boat/kayak trips and arranging onward travel.

Jeswin is very helpful (for activities, lunch, helping with the bags). The view is outstanding. And the massages were excellent. The installations are a bit run down, especially in the bamboo hut ( greying toilet seat). The rooms are dusty.

• Maritta (6/5): Das Hotel hatte die besten Zeiten hinter sich. - Die Lage war unübertroffen! Direkt am Fluß, in der Nähe dort sind die Boote gestartet. Es gab so gut wie keinen Service. Keinen Wasserkocher im Zimmer, Kaffee konnte man nur morgens bestellen, wurde am ersten Morgen vergessen, nachmittags nur zwischen 16.00 und 18.00. Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer Jeswin nur über Whatsapp, das erste Mal verschlafen, dann war der Akku leer, das bestellte Boot wurde auch vergessen. Das Bett war eine Katastrophe, total hart. Lunch und Diner nur über Lieferdienste, das hat aber zuverlässig geklappt.
• Emily (8/5): Peaceful backwater stay away from the main hustle of the city. - The location was beautiful, we felt we couldn’t have found a better spot to enjoy the backwaters of Alleppey. We found ourselves able to relax and enjoy the views from our doorstep. The owner Jeswin was extremely attentive and helpful. We ordered dinner from a local restaurant, we booked a canoe ride (a highlight!), and he helped us book onward travel. The beds weren’t the most comfortable.

• Charlotte (8/5): - Un belle alternative au houseboat pour observer la vie des backwaters d'Alleppey. Le logement en bois est simple et fonctionnel avec beaucoup de charme. Le service de livraison des repas est rapide et de qualité.
• Marie (10/5): Une expérience inoubliable dans un havre de paix au cœur des backwaters. 🤍 - Absolument tout était parfait ! La chambre en bois avec vue offre un vrai dépaysement et une tranquillité totale. L’accueil est exceptionnel : le propriétaire se plie en quatre pour ses invités, toujours aux petits soins, on l’adore, un immense merci à lui. Il n’y a pas de restaurant sur place, mais il est possible de se faire livrer directement en chambre grâce à un partenariat avec un restaurant local. Vous choisissez vos plats, le propriétaire s’occupe de la commande, et le livreur vient frapper à votre porte : un vrai luxe ! En plus, les plats sont généreux et délicieux. Toutes les activités dans les backwaters sont disponibles directement depuis l’hôtel. Il suffit de demander, et le propriétaire se charge de tout organiser. Pour les balades en bateau, l’embarcation vient vous chercher devant l’hôtel, zéro trajet à prévoir, c’est idéal. Bref, un séjour parfait du début à la fin. • Michelle (10/5): Amazing value for money - Amazing location, the weather was quite rainy while we were there and we sat in the balcony, which has an extended roof to make it weather proof, and just watched all the boats go by, we loved it. Nice little family run business, the staff could not do enough for us and mums coffee was nice and strong as requested 💪 would 100% recommend this place, great value for money!

• Margherita (8/5): Quasi una backwater! Peccato per il servizio! - La vista sul canale, un balcone che ti dà l'impressione di essere su una backwater L'accoglienza e il servizio molto scarso. Il primo giorno ho chiesto un tè alle 18,10 e mi è stato risposto di no. A colazione ho dovuto attendere più di un'ora per il tè e chiederlo 3 volte!

• Koen (9/5): Relaxation and great views - The location is just great, with wonderful views right next to the lake. The wooden cabins are simple but add to the tropical feel of the location. Jeswin and his people make your stay absolutely pleasant. Even though we arrived late the first day, he made sure that we could eat something right after getting there. The houseboat stay that we got offered via this place did not entirely live up to our expectations.

• Mara (8/5): If you wanna experience Alleppey from up close, this is the place to stay. - The hotel is perfectly located with amazing view on the canals from the cozy balconies. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful, they helped with organizing tours and transportation. The bathrooms are on the simpler side, but to be expected for the price.
