• Pradnya (5/5): Not worth the price spent - .Location on mall road . Staff - polite and ready to help . Not worth the price at all . So, rooms do not have fans/AC- 2 windows are there but you cannot keep them open as monkeys come in. I thought they were joking and kept it open for some time as it was getting all stuffy. 5 min later, I found a monkey sitting comfortably on the chair eating sugar and biscuits. Then he went through our open bags, took food packets and left. So, basically poor ventilation in the rooms. . Location is on the mall road but right opposite horse stables. . Rooms need some maintenance . We were charged around 12000 for attic room . Small room and no other facilities at all in comparison to any other room . 6k extra for a clearer view of the valley! ( that view is seen from lower floor rooms as well).

Staff was prompt, warm, and incredibly friendly. The food menu had many options, but many of them were not available.

• Hélène et Damien (8/5): Hôtel idéealement situé dans Darjeeling pour aller à pied. Repas plus compliqués. - L'hotêl est super bien situé dans Darjeeling pour faire pas mal de choses à pied. Vu la circulation dans la ville, c'est souvent préférable d'être piéton. La situation de l'hôtel permet de profiter des restaurants du centre ville mais aussi d'aller à la gare par exemple qui n'est qu'à 15 min à pied ou sur la place principale pour profiter de l'ambiance. Demandez des chambres en hauteur si possible pour profiter de la vue qui est magnifique ! Sauf si vous êtes amateurs de repas indiens, le petits-déjeuner est compliqué... Un ptit dej continental est proposé mais il est vraiment léger en offres et les oeufs au plat sont payants... Nous étions un peu seuls pour les diners également avec un personnel qui nous l'a fait comprendre... On ne choisit pas cet hôtel pour ses repas. Il est préférable de sortir. Heureusement c'est possible et facile !

Stay not as expected as per the reviews. They don’t even have umbrellas to drop their Clients till the cab pick up point. Monkey issues so need to keep the windows closed . Breakfast ordinary

I like everything about this property. One suggestion from my side is to provide some fragrance in the room as well as in the bathroom by using some slow defuser or else.

• Frank (9/5): Great place to stay - We stayed for 8 days in this hotel. The room was very spacious, quiet and clean. Housekeeping did a very hood job. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is okay but after shower the whole bathroom is flooded. Breakfast is tasteful and good. We just don’t know why it’s necessary to play very loud music during breakfast. Food during lunch was fresh and very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. One negative point: Wifi is very slow and inconsistent

• Eshana (10/5): Comfortable stay - The location, cleanliness. Nothing important. But some of the starters in the restaurant have a smaller portion than I was used to. Not that it caused a problem.
• Der Blitzer (9/5): - Man wird mit einem Tee begrüßt, die Zimmer sind groß und hübsch, das Bett sehr bequem und mit der zusätzlichen Wolldecke auch schnell warm. Die Aussicht auf die Berge im 4. Stock ist phänomenal. Außerdem bietet das Restaurant qualitativ hochwertige Speisen an. Man wird sehr zuvorkommend behandelt. Zum Abschied bekam ich eine Packung Darjeeling Tee, was ich sehr reizend fand. Es ist insgesamt immer kühl im Restaurant, sogar an der Rezeption arbeitet man mit Jacke. Die Vorhänge lassen zu viel Licht durch, da die Sonne morgens hineinscheint. Der Preis pro Übernachtung ist für indische Verhältnisse vielleicht ein klein wenig zu hoch.

• Martin (8/5): Good, but could be better - Overall very good, great location, excellent view and nice interior. The restaurant is so so, you can get better food for a lower price in the restaurants around. The hot water is sufficient for a quick shower for one person, then you have to wait till the boiler heats up again. During winter, the room can be quite cold, and there is no heating or air conditioning. I was recommended a tea factory, which the staff assured me would be open on Sunday. When I got there by a taxi, it was closed just as on every Sunday.

• Dieter (5/5): Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht - Im Gakhil Hotel wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen. Obwohl das Hotel in einer Fußgängerzone liegt war man sehr hilfreich uns beim Transport des Gepäcks zu unterstützen. Das Zimmer welches wir gebucht hatten, hatte keine schöne Aussicht, man konnte uns jedoch sofort ein anderes Zimmer mit besserer Aussicht anbieten. Auf den ersten Blick war das Zimmer in Ordnung. Auf den zweiten Blick war jedoch ein großer Renovierungsstau ersichtlich. Leider gibt es auch Gäste die meinen Ihren Namen mit Stiften an die Wand zu malen. Traurig. Leider wurden diese Makel vom Hotel nicht entfernt, genauso wie der abplatzende Putz an den Wänden. Obwohl ich zuvor zweimal per Mail angefragt hatte, eine Antwort erhielt ich nicht, verfügte unser Zimmer weder über eine Heizung noch eine Klimaanlage. Die Reinlichkeit des gesamten Objekts ist verbesserungsfähig. Das ganze Zimmer war viel zu teuer. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt gar nicht. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer, die Sauberkeit, der Renovierungsstau.

• Sanjay (10/5): Exceptional - It is a wonderful property which is located very centrally in Darjeeling, making most places within the town accessible on foot. The property itself is new & beautifully done up. The staff was very polite & helpful, always with pleasant smiling faces. The breakfast spread is good and the menu is changed everyday. The restaurant menu is also reasonably good. All in all great value for money. Strongly recommended.

• Nabarun (1/5): LASTLY PLEASE DO NOT EVER VISIT THIS HOTEL - Location is very near to the MALL but the roads are absolutely filthy and filled in with garbage and if you walk you feel like vomiting. 1. Absolutely everything 2. Breakfast: a. The Breakfast which was included has been same everyday with little or no option other than paratha or luchi with one sabji. b. The quantity was very very poor. c. The water at the breakfast table was also paid if you drink more than what has been given. d. The omlette has been served with one egg and even after requesting also they will not serve more than one. e. Very very insufficient for one person per meal. f. The dining place was not clean. 3. Room Cleaning and amenities supply like tea/coffee: a. Except of one person who has been excellent (Chorden Lepcha) in servicing everyone has been very lazy and no one came for cleaning even after you ask for the cleanup. They will only come after you request 3 - 4 times. b. The quantity of water given per day was 1 liter which is absolutely in contradiction to a normal stay of Rs 1500 per day. c. The bathing place use to have a half separation and one person bathing the total bathroom will be water logged and it will take evening to move all the water. You will not find anyone to clean the same as well. d. The bathrooms were also not cleaned everyday and that leaves the beautiful aroma which will make you sick very easily. 4. Lunch/Dinner: a. Highly expensive and not worth at all with respect to the quantity served. 5. Room Rent and others: a. Rent is too much expensive with respect to the services and others provided. b. They charged me Rs 47500.00 (Rupees Fourty Seven thousand Five Hundred for 5 nights) which is Rs 9500 (Nine Thousand five hundred per night) per night plus Taxes (which is also charged very high). c. The rate that has been charged is equivalent to any 5 start hotel and I was expecting the same. To my astonishment what I received is not even 1 star. d. On the top of the same when I asked for help to drop me at the taxi stand I have been told that there is no one is available as there is a huge rush e. Actually Simple people only slaughtered here.

The hotel itself is beautiful in its aesthetics and comfortable to stay in . The staff were friendly and ensured our rooms got cleaned everyday for the 3 days we stayed there. Nothing specific - perhaps a complementary breakfast would make it more value for money

The facilities and the decor are top notch. Don’t miss to check out the Attic. They should accept international cards as the charge is a significant amount.
• Ghosh (8/5): Extremely hospitable & excellent Location ! - The staff was extremely extremely hospitable and polite, something which is becoming quite rare in this industry with limited interaction and attention span of both the customers and the front desk . Also the rooms were very spacious with ample space to move around. But I feel the main bonus point for this particular hotel is the location . It right on the Mall area, to give you an estimate , Glenarys is at a more distance from the main Mall area than this Hotel! 😄 The only disadvantage I feel is the road on which the hotel is .. as it’s quite unkempt and untidy . But this is not the fault of the hotel as it the main local road .
