- Alister (10/5): - The cameaderie of guests and owners in the communal Di o g area

- Leonie (9/5): A Great Welcome - Merrill's friendly and very helpful welcome was wonderful. The cabins were homely and comfortable. The facilities all worked as advertised, and the showers are particularly good. E liked the rustic charm and the history attached to the place. Of the beaten track, peaceful and calm.
- Pollard (8/5): - Friendly helpful service, clean bathrooms Bathroom toilet floors need attention
- Charles (6/5): A functional bolthole in a region where decent last-minute accommodation is rare - The accommodation turned out to be genuinely reasonable — rather better than my admittedly modest expectations. The pricing is perhaps a touch on the high side, though in Fiordland, where eye-watering rates appear to be something of a local tradition, it compares quite favourably. Each cabin is straightforward and functional: a bed, a set of drawers, a power outlet — everything you need for a no-frills stopover. It is also worth noting that when my original Airbnb booking in Te Anau was cancelled a mere two days before arrival, this property was a welcome lifeline in an area where last-minute accommodation is extremely hard to come by. The property is a little over an hour's drive from Te Anau, which added considerable time to an already lengthy journey to Milford Sound — though given the scarcity of options in the region, there is little choice in the matter. The heater in my cabin failed to work on the first night, which made for a rather brisk evening in this corner of the South Island. The shared kitchen is also quite compact; when several cabins descend simultaneously to prepare meals, the space becomes a squeeze, and the level of spontaneous co-operation required amongst strangers is not always forthcoming. Allow yourself at least an extra hour if you plan to cook, and aim to time your meals outside the peak rush.
- Kathryn (10/5): - It was cut, clean & friendly
- RICHARD (5/5): Didn't really work for us. - The shared kitchen and lounge area was nice and a great chance to meet other guests. The bathrooms were ok too. The bedroom was tired with no side lights and a fair few crawlies. The carpet was tired and worn out. Could do with a spruce up

- Cameron (10/5): Excellent host, cozy cabins and an all round great atmosphere! - Merrill was super accommodating! The huts were comfortable and exactly what we were looking for. The shared kitchen and bathroom was tidy and well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would both return in a heartbeat! Great launching pad to go and check out hikes in the surrounding area.
- Adler (5/5): Passable - This is a camper's delight but if you are looking for anything like a hotel/motel this is not the right place. Merrill did her best to make us feel welcome but the facilities are what they are. In my case, the wife was rather disappointed.

We felt at home immediately, we checked in late and she was so nice about it, the bathrooms are beautiful and clean, the bed is soooo comfy, the kitchen and living room are really cozy and there’s a gazebo outside! The location is beautiful. The only thing is that it is far out from
everything!
- Rowe (10/5): Exceptional - Merrill was amazing, what a fabulous place she has. Very rustic but super comfortable. We loved our cabin, bed so comfy and cosy. Shower and loo block very clean and well equipped, extra towels everywhere. Kitchen and dining area was fantastic, well equipped and clean, everything there and for use. Lovely to sit in lounge area after dinner and read. Merrill was very friendly and helpful. She told us loads about area and where to go. Such an enthusiastic lady, she made the place even better. Would definitely go again and would have stayed longer if we had time. Loved the location. Scenery great. River beautiful.
- Manfred (10/5): Very nice place to stay, we'll do it again. -
