I have a 1 1/2 year old and every time I would move the bed was sooooo loud and uncomfortable. I couldn’t stand the bed and the creaking plus a few other things, I wanted to leave. The staff said “no refunds, should have read the policy.” It was like come on not even an offer for a different room or something but nope just a fu** you right to my face.

Wier (8/5): Peaceful, relaxing vacation to RMNP - Great location, just 1 mile from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Beautiful entry with a covered bridge and white lights covering the fences. There are a number of chairs, benches, hammocks, a grill and fire pit with free wood to enjoy next to the river. The grounds are exceptional, with many flowers throughout the property. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Enjoyed using the hot tub. They provide a key and towels to use it and you can request your own private block of time. There were no bugs to contend with. They will refresh your towels without asking. Beds are super comfy. There are USB chargers, and there was plenty of hot water/good water pressure. There is a restaurant next-door, which you can easily access on a paved walkway or a little trail. We stayed in Castle room #3. It’s a bit worn and dated so a room refresh would be nice, but the room was clean. Walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors. Bathroom was small but acceptable given size of the room.

I think next time we will book sooner so we can snag a cabin with a private hot tub just because that sounds so wonderful. The playground was perfect for our little one & what an amazing backdrop of scenery while our little one played. Sound of the river was so nice as well. Tons of turkeys on site during our stay which we got a kick out of! We would love to come back and would highly recommend castle mountain lodge to anyone looking for a place to stay in Estes!

Nice playground for the kids and right on the river. Some of the windows and doors are showing their age and could use a little work.

The place is equipped with everything you need, if you decide to cook your own meals. Having a supermarket down the road to pick up food was a plus. The trolley to take you into town goes by every 20 min or so. The property itself has beautiful sitting areas and you are in walking distance to a couple of restaurants. You would not be disappointed.

The only negative was no having climate controlled room (AC). It would have been less noticeable if the cabins were designed to let heat out of room with windows properly placed at top to let airflow cool room. All and all we loved the placed and would return again.

Andre (10/5): - Castle Mountain Lodge is a beautiful place to stay when visiting Estes Park/RMNP. It is situated right off a two lane highway but is very peaceful. The accommodations are well appointed and the staff is very friendly. They also offer free cookies in the lobby which was a nice treat. We stayed in a studio lodge and it was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place to others and would stay here again the next time we are in Estes Park.

There is no phone service and terrible WiFi so we had to drive to town to make calls and watching a movie was spotty. The place is loud. While sitting in the hot tub, we could hear the neighbors tv blaring and we were woken up early every morning by different things. It is a good family place, but don’t recommend for a couple looking for quiet.
