Guest Reviews
- Christine (5/5): As only stayed from 6pm to 6am was a bed for night but as on main road did not get a lot of sleep - Location great beds comfortable Is an old house and layout strange bathroom is old and toilet not in bathroom
- Esther (5/5): - The beds were comfortable we all had a good night's sleep.
Location was great, we only walked 300ms down the road to an awesome pub for dinner.
There was a heat pump and heaters in every room. The lawns weren't mowed there were weeds growing. Soon as we walked in we noticed muddy foot prints on the wooden floors.
You can't open any windows down the bottom.
The bath tub was blocked when showering. I had to use the plunger to unblock it.
We are a family of 6, there was one couch in the lounge which was very low, not enough for everyone to sit. A rug would've been perfect on those cold wooden floors. There's only one seat not 2 like in that photo.
Lastly there was only one small fry pan so cooking dinner for 6 took longer.
It needs a good clean out of the rubbish outside and make it feel more homely by adding some comfortable furniture, warm rugs and more kitchen utensils.
- Carmen (3/5): Read the reviews before booking - The location was excellent as it was so close to Eden Park.
The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. There was 6 of us staying with only a 3 seater couch. Had to bring the dining room chairs in to be able to sit together. The bathroom joinery was rotten with damp and swollen.
All of the windows hardly open or don't open at all.
It was a place to sleep at night and that's about it. Needs major upkeep and renovations to bring it to standard.
I would liken it to a student flat at best.
- Harmony (8/5): Great last minute find for the night - Perfect spot for event over the weekend
- Lyn (5/5): -
- Tara (7/5): - Location was perfect Shower didn't drain
- Danielle (5/5): Location was good for what we were after but over all I don’t think I could recommend this place. - Good location Turning up to this property was like turning up to a junk yard. They have re done the roof which I guess is great but there is just left over supplies everywhere which not only looks untidy but is actually very dangerous. The gardens are also over grown and none of it gave a very good first impression. Inside was also not much better. It felt dirty. I will say the beds were clean but that’s about as far as it went. Every other part of the place is very run down, especially the toilet and bathroom, the plumbing in the shower was terrible. After one shower everyone else had a pool of water at their ankles.
- Piper (1/5): Will never book here again - Easy to get into with contactless entry. Sheets and towels were stained. The house smelt and it didn’t look anything like the photos. The house is very run down and damaged
- Tanya & Frikkie (4/5): Unhappy - Bedding to small for the queen beds, mold was spotted along with mold smell. Bathroom cabinet swollen of water and have seen better days. Blinds in upstairs rooms were broken. This house is not being maintained at all, only collecting money , we were highly disappointed worst place we've ever stayed at
- Sandi (3/5): Property worked for us as we weren’t there a lot. Cleanliness disappointing - Location was perfect for what we needed and the food places close by were fabulous The shower didn’t drain away
Lack of kitchen items for amount of people
Cobwebs in corners of rooms
Cockroaches
Window latch broken in left front bedroom
- Bruce (3/5): Never again. Don't stay there - Supposedly sleeps 8. Setting in TV room for 3, another lounge 2 armchairs with 1 in need of repairs. Table sat 6. Crocker and cutlery also deficient. Kitchen was totally inadequate, with all appliances including fridge running off a power board from a single outlet. Good way to cause a fire. No atmosphere what so ever. Only a single door working to escape if required. Rest non functional. No catch still on toilet or laundry door. Bedrooms very clean and comfortable. Drain from shower in bath blocked so showered in water up to ankles.
- Bryce (7/5): We enjoyed the house and would stay again. - Great location and the house was comfortable and spacious for our group of 6 The toaster and jug could do with an upgrade and the arrangement for the plugs for these appliances could be safer. Also a lock on the laundry or toilet door would be a great addition.
- Albert (7/5): Good -
- Ruby (6/5): Pleasant - Good location to eden park, for events Place was a bit run down, mold in places, also quite cold.
- Whauwhau (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antony (2/5): Very poor - locating couldnt open windows couldnt shower cause of drain being blocked no locls on shower and toilet doors and kettle didnt work an no free tv
- Liam (8/5): Very good -
- Jacquelyn (7/5): An older home with quirks. It worked for us, as we were there for an event at Eden Park. - Location great. Off road parking for 2 cars. Big rooms with sufficient heating. Separate toilet. Light not working in bathroom.
- Veronica (10/5): It was a good stay overall. - The location is near the city centre. However, there is a train line near the house, meaning that the noise of the train happens sometimes. At Friday night, occasionally, the party noise from the street happened. The host was friendly and helpful. She offered us basically everything.
- Da (8/5): Very good - Everything else was great! No TV
- Brooke (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (9/5): Superb - For a reasonable price, location was excellent. Close to supermarket, petrol station, everything you need. Toilet had no light (or we just cant find the switch), so the toilet has a small room inside the laundry room. We also needed to buy more toilet rolls as there were 6 of us using so the 2 provided were not enough for our usage (it might enough for most). Also, if there was an anti slip mat for the shower area as it is a bath with shower, in our experience we had to watch our elderly parents while taking a shower to avoid falls. But over all the place had everything we needed and we are happy with it.
- Ake (8/5): Most parts of the property was great. The bedrooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. We had plenty of towels - We liked that the property was close to where we needed to be. It gave us a homely feeling too. As the property is on quite a busy road, it was great that there was a private park for our vehicle. Although we didn’t get to roam around the area, the house is in a short distance to local shops. We had plenty of towels, bath products (luckily as we had forgotten ours) and beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and cutlery for us to use and other whiteware. Not so much a didn’t like, but would have been good to have enough toilet paper for at least a day as we got there and only had 1/4 of a roll. Doors didn’t have latches/ didn’t close properly. Would have been good if the outdoor light worked as it is quite difficult to see when coming back to the house at night. The cleaning fee was pricey. The entry to the study area from the sitting room is a hazard. Needs to be something on the floor that’s obvious for people to see that they need to step down.
- Natalie (2/5): Should have been half the price. - The electric code access at the door was great, made getting access so easy. It was great to have off street parking. The house was freezing cold when we arrived, and we came to find that many of the windows didn't close properly so it made the home unbearable to be in. We tried to close them, but we simply couldn't. We then seeked to find extra blankets as only 2 out of 4 beds had them. There were no spares, the host told us about some duvets in a cupboard, but we only found 1.
The upper level rooms have windows above the beds - like sky windows - these were covered in mould and one had plaster falling from it. Not a nice experience to sleep near.
The house is well overdue maintenance and clearly has not had any upkeep in quite some time.
The bathroom is absolutely disgusting and needs updating, the toilet is even worse.
The 'free wifi' doesn't work, and the TV doesn't either because the wifi doesn't work......and it's not connected to free to air.
- Sharon (7/5): Good -
- Haruka (8/5): Very good - Good for family. Location No tea towel
