Guest Reviews
- Samra (1/5): -
- Lara (1/5): Never to stay here. Booked else where! Shocking - Attending Preston hospital for an operation so looked for somewhere close came across Amarillys guest house as it was the closest as I’m not from this area. Looked at reviews before booking and they were ok, obviously didn’t read all reviews however i had to contact the owner for the key box code as it wasn’t on emails she said she would text it and she did, when we arrived she never introduced her self, she never asked who we were she just handed over the keys. Room was on the 2nd floor with 2 rooms and 1 bathroom. It was stated the bathroom wasn’t shared. The room was absolutely outrageous stains on the pillows, draw handles missing so screws are visible so that’s hazard. Stain on side table. There was no hairdryer as stated. There was no plug sockets for the kettle or the tv. There was 2 sachets of salted caramel coffee but no tea bags. The fridge freezer on the landing with no plug socket. The bathroom had hair in the shower plug, rubbish still in the bin, dirty mop behind the door there was only 2 small hair towels no hand towel or bath towel.
The smell was overpowering. So I literally grabbed my suitcase and left and had to go else where. I get you get what you pay for, but there is no way I was staying there.

- Jain (1/5): Bad - Shit place Mank it smell better
- Rakshith (6/5): Pleasant -
- Robinson (1/5): We did'nt stay there slept in our car instead - The room was in a converted house the front door wasn't wide enough for a large wheelchair there were steps which my partner can't climb the tower had a base which again my partner can't climb the only good point about the room was the bed
- Georgi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harman (1/5): This stay was terrible - No hair dryer No hair dryer no towel the number provided to contact wasn’t working all the time when messages on number reply is received midnight
- Zareeda (1/5): poor -
- Miah (1/5): Bad - Nothing Absolutely terrible experience and very creepy.
Feels like you've been watched and no toilet rolls and no towels. Bathroom and toilet smells very bad and the toilet seat is broken.
- Lockie (9/5): Overall pleased 😊 - It was clean and more importantly warm, as it was a cold day/night. There was no milk to have a hot drink which would have been welcome. Definitely needed a hot drink!
- Luke (8/5): Very good -
- Rakshith (7/5): Good -
- Francis (1/5): Bad -
- B0ggles (9/5): Amaryllis - It was clean tidy and just what we was after for the night Being woke up by the shop lights across the way from the window ..I actually thought it was daylight till I looked what time it was.the shower head need a new fixing to keep it upright and maybe state that if your not on the slimmer side it's quite awkward to get in the shower door and the gap before the shower and maybe provide a mini fridge to keep milk or small amounts of food in the cleaning was spotless it was lovely to have a microwave and kettle to use in the room.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Mariah (1/5): Bad -
- T-jay (8/5): Very good -
- Kath (5/5): Convenient for our purpose but needs improvement - Good wifi, TV and location good for Royal Preston Hospital. Regular bus route. Shops Cramped and very poorly finished. Door to room wouldn’t lock. Whilst in the room there was an extremely flimsy bolt to secure our room. When we were out of the room it was open to the room upstairs. Was advertised as serviced daily but we were there 2 days and only had one bath and one hand towel between us. Lack of dish soap and t towel so we couldn’t wash the plates and cups. Only one lightbulb working in the central 3 light fitting. Room could be much improved by taking the bedside cupboard away and adding a corner shelf so that the bed could be moved to allow the bathroom door to open! Plenty of room for a small fridge in the fireplace section.
- Patricia (10/5): Excellent, will definitely come back - It is a lovely place, home away from home. None
- Kershaw (1/5): Bad - Didn't get the room I booked was left outside for hour and half to find out the room was already booked then after another half hour was put in a little room no telly no facilities at all no private bathroom and no privacy door was no lock and had to be quiet as her mum was in a room next door Didn't get the room I booked was left outside for hour and half to find out the room was already booked then after another half hour was put in a little room no telly no facilities at all no private bathroom and no privacy door was no lock and had to be quiet as her mum was in a room next door
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Towels and smelliest provided ...clean smelling fresh bedding ..
There was a toaster and microwave and a small table to sit at .
Plates and cups ..etc
Off licence opposite and a chippy across the road further down the road.
Launderette further down the road if you need it and bus stops very close for commuting. The TV does not work so you can only use Net flix if you have an account.
Can get cold in the room.
The bathroom needs attention ( some TLC ) and finishing off as not in a good state of repair.
- Scott (5/5): OK for one night if you arrive late and leave early - I wasn't expecting a lot but it's only OK for a single man or a couple for one night. There is a newsagent nearby and a nice little cafe for breakfast. It's in a terrace and the neighbours played music until after midnight. The TV obviously hasn't worked for a while and, to be honest, you can get them off Gumtree for £20.
- John (5/5): Passable - It for single people not for a couple the bed would agree and could do with a TV in the room had a great stay tho apart from bed
- Hwata (8/5): Very good - the location the heating wasn't working it was cold
- Price (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing Everything
- Mr (9/5): Overall Very Pleased And Most Definitely Will Stay There When In Preston Again. - Quite at night and cleanliness of the place! Little Bit More Space In The Bathroom Would Have Been Great!
- Onumbu (6/5): Pleasant - The heating system in the room has to be changed.
It's old and not functioning properly.
I almost got frozen
- Basia (7/5): Met required needs - Friendly welcome accomadating There was confusion about time I had asked for eleven o’clock arriving and the previous occupants had a three pm check out so overlapping
- Arshdeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Very pleasant room at the front of a terraced house. Little bit of traffic noise but quiet overnight. Altogether, a pleasant stay
- Jamie (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (2/5): Very poor -
- Paula (5/5): Short and not 100% sweet 😏 - We got an exceptionally cheap price. The fact that it had a microwave and plates and cutlery suited us. However the location was unexpected because we were right on a busy street. The double glazed windows shut, helped a lot! The bed was clean and comfortable.
It had 1 towel and the shower toilet space was tiny. It was OK for a quick stopover. I chose very quickly and I got what I paid for. The bed was pushed against the wall on one side because it was a tiny space. The shower looked new but the ceiling had an unfinished look. A bit rough around the edges.
- Salaki (8/5): Amazing -
- June (3/5): Poor -
- Alastair (3/5): If your on a budget it’s good - The bed was very comfortable and the shower was clean and facilities was clean The property was good just the lock box on the front door didn’t open easy and the lock on my bedroom door wouldn’t lock and felt like the handle was gonna fall off so I didn’t feel very safe in the hostel
- Liz (1/5): Awful - Nothing This is a scam, do not book, they will take your money and then nore
- Snapjack (2/5): Disappointed - Clean PIN number for the door was not sent prior to arrival and I was stood outside in very hot weather for over an hour before the correct code was told to me. I was told three incorrect codes before then and the property manager couldn’t get to me to come and sort it. I was late for my appointment
- Sekou (7/5): Good -
- Martin (10/5): Wedding stop over - Very clean and tidy
- Gray (1/5): Bad -
- Wijesekara (9/5): Superb -
- Jeena (8/5): Very good - Comfortable room
Good for the price Location is not that good
- Asv78 (7/5): Good - The room, bathroom, downstairs areas. Too noisy people.
- Eleanor (7/5): Very pleasant stay; cheap but get a lot for your money in my opinion had a very nice night here - Although the property is cheap it is still very pleasant to stay in and exceeded expectations The only problem I had with the hotel is it's difficult to spot
- Justus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nokuthula (10/5): You are awesome and exceptional - I have never been into such a smart and Marvellous accommodation
You guys you are exceptional
I always carry along my linen, but yesterday I didn’t use them
I was waiting for this moment to comment
I kept on checking my emails
Keep it up My delay to get into the premise
In which at the end I discovered it was not your fault
- Joji (1/5): Booked for family and paid ,but they charged extra money.Door pin number given but they changed.poor - Nothing Value
- Susan (5/5): A visit to Preston - Warm and secure. 20min walk to town centre Busy traffic outside window. Wifi code wrong pin number wrong no t.v.
- Julia (5/5): Passable - Key access was useful
Clean bedding No kettle, bathroom separate to the bedroom across a corridor. Very noisy traffic overnight - not hosts fault
- Monday (1/5): Fraud at Amarillys Guest House - The Guest House is a Scam/FRAUD. You guys do not exist. There is nothing like AMARILLYS GUEST HOUSE. You guys just defrauded me the sum of £44.10. You tricked your unsuspecting customers into making online bookings and payments for a non-existent service.
Given the above, I am requesting A Refund of the £44.10 to my account because your fraudulent behaviour made me go through a lot of unnecessary hardship and became stranded till 1 am today and consequently suffered a lot of psychological trauma, embarrassment and missed out on my Primary reason for making the trip. My total loss for the trip was approximately £125.30 for extra accommodation I had to book when you refused to honour your side of the contract.
Please if the above sum is not refunded. Booking.com and all those involved in that fraudulent act will hear from my legal team. Everything was a Scam.
- Steve (10/5): Good value -
- Margrét (7/5): Good -
- Singleton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammad (1/5): ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS.. NEVER EVER AGAIN AVOID !! - There was clean room advertised with a baby cot when we were half way there there was no cot - false advertising
There was a hole in your door with rizzla packet stuffed inside it what in the world was that about?-health and safety hazard
The room absolutely reeked of cigarettes smoking so strong that we could hardly breathe it made me dizzy and I couldn't bring in my disabled wife and newborn baby in my other baby son has extreme asthma he was instantly coughing as he walked in and now guess what ? He has an asthma flare up and I'm taking my son to hospital as we speak - Extremely health and safety hazard! Absolutely terrible treated like rubbish and the owners of the property were absolutely nonchalant and narcissistic trying to blame me and my children.. Ignoring everything wrong they had done and trying to pin the blame on us .. avoid at all costs this place gives you an eerie feeling and isn't at all as it seems on the photos.
We're still waiting for a refund as we had to immediately leave and couldn't even enter the room yet they still refuse so now I have to escalate this matter with booking.com
- Rylatt (5/5): Passable -
