Guest Reviews
- GERARD (10/5): -
- Kishan (9/5): - Staff were super friendly, loved the food they arranged for us.
- Yun Fang (7/5):
- Janmin (9/5): - The location of the place was amazing. The owners and their hospitality was outstanding. We were worried about food as we were pure vegetarian in a small village in Kazakhstan. But they not just provided us with different meals but with super yummy food. For the price we paid i felt the space could have been bit bigger. No doubt the rooms were comfy and cozy with all facilities. But for the price we paid expected more.
- Ruby (9/5): Great little homestay with food provided. - It was great that all meals were covered and the food was local and so delicious. There were always snacks and nibbles laid out available for you. The bed was comfortable though I wished the pillows were a little higher. We went with the cheaper cabin option, which was basic but enough for us for one night. The staff were super helpful with everything. It was someone's birthday the night we stayed and we were treated to one of the owners playing a few Kazakh instruments - what a talented man! It was very helpful to be able to pay by card. We also paid for an extra lunch the next day (5000tenge per person). Nothing.

- Oswald (9/5): Przytulnie, ładnie i miło - Bardzo przytulnie, ładnie i schludnie. Miła Pani gospodarz, świetne posiłki Uważam, że dość drogo
- Racsha (10/5): This is hands-down the best place to stay in all of Saty. - The yurts are amazing. Beautiful interiors, comfortable mattresses in the yurts, spacious bathroom and amazing views! The hosts pretty great too! The people there are very helpful, kind, and will make you feel like a part of their own. The main caretaker lady is one of the best people I have ever met... You will also be provided 3-time meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which are not only utterly delicious, but made with so much love. The hosts are also very mindful of your food preferences. Sweet treats are always available in the dining area, which is literally the sweetest thing I have ever seen a host do for their guests! They people there will not only host you, but actually take care of you like family! There is nothing to not like/love
- Sook Fen (9/5): Pleasant, sweet host, cozy - We had a very pleasant stay in Saty. The host went above and beyond by preparing the most delicious and homey local dinner and breakfast for us, which truly made the experience feel warm and authentic.
The place itself is super cozy and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing stay. Just a small note that the hot water takes a bit of time to heat up, so a little patience is needed.
Communication might be a slight challenge as the host only speaks Kazakh, so having a translator on hand is helpful. Despite that, everything was managed smoothly.
Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable stay, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Saty.
- Davide (10/5): Siamo stati benissimo - Alloggio come descritto, colazione e cena ottime. Letto comodo. Persone molto accoglienti e sempre sorridenti.
- nicole (9/5): Cozy Kolsay - Staff was lovely, food was plentiful, property well maintained. Close to Kaindy & Kolsai lakes. Our cabin was small but served our needs, shower (with hot water) and toilet inside the cabin. One night we watched the stars, and a staff member pointed out the constellations for us, which was lovely.
- Pavel (10/5): - The hosts were wonderful. The conditions and meals were great. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.
- nikhar (9/5): - Very kind hosts and cosy stay close to the canyon and lakes. Good food as well ( we were vegetarian and they kindly catered accordingly)
- Maddie (10/5): -
- pc (8/5): Missing the interaction with many people come for the untouched landscapes. - Food! Simple local but yummy food! And get to meet and chat with other guests from all over the word!
- Karwang Chow (10/5): - Helpful host
- Omana (10/5): - It’s close to Kaindy and Kolsai lakes. They give us three meals per day and the cabin I so cosy. We enjoyed playing with baby Emily.

- Fauziah (10/5): -
- Mohamed Nihas (10/5): It was an amazing stay with them. The owner was also good. Such a clean and neat pods. Must try stay - Everything was so perfect about the stay. The pod was super cut and clean to the point. Nothing
- Sulaikha (10/5): Great wonderful stay with homely food - It was so neat and tidy and the host were so sweet and warm to us
Had a nice relaxing stay with amazing food Nothing

- Nur Thuraiya Binti (10/5): -
- Nihan (10/5): Very delicious stay - The hospitality of the owners and the amazing meals, we got the chance to taste the famous traditional dish beshbarmak which was homemade! The breakfast, just like dinner, has lots of options and everything was super delicious. Just before leaving, we got offered a big Kazakh chocolate that we love,it was really nice to meet this family, we felt like a family member during our stay. They are adding new yurts in the garden so the garden was kind of a construction site but this is a temporary situation.
There is no a/C in the cabin but after the sunset the weather gets chilly so we were not bothered by the heat.
The wifi may not work well everywhere.
- Nikhil (9/5): -
- Aida (7/5): -
- Ling (10/5): - clean , cosy, beautiful house and view ,food is good WiFi doesn’t work
- Salina (10/5): Awesome, great and wonderful stay - Very family and homely accommodation. The owner is kind and helpful, arrange my trip to lake kaindy, lake kolsey and the black canyon plus help and drive me and my son back to Almaty. My total gratitude of his kindness. The yurk stay is so wonderful experience. It’s clean, comfortable and spaces. Everyone must come and have an experience to stay in Kolsey Kazakh Village. I fully recommend this accommodation. Thank you for making it memorable None
- Harris Rizal (10/5): The cozy and clean ambience of the homestay along with the friendly owners made the stay a very pleasant one. Try it. - It was a very pleasant experience for our family of 5. The guesthouse was perfect for us to mingle with both the local and foreign tourists. The husband/wife owners were very hospitable and generous. The husband even entertained us with his stringed equipments. Language was no barrier when we had Google translate. The local dinner and breakfast served were scrumptious and delicious. It was definitely a feast with an array of Kazakh dishes (all halal). The accommodation was sufficient - cozy rooms, comfortable mattresses, thick blankets with heating in the rooms/bathrooms. The bathroom had modern amenities and the dining room was nicely decorated. Nothing at all.
- zhurkina (10/5): Good!! - Very helpful owners, nice place to stay if you travelling by yourself :) Probably nothing
- Kannathakorn (10/5): Homestay from Kazakh family - The meals provided was abundant, the owners are super generous. They event let our driver/guide eat and stay for free.
The place is cozy and feel like home.
- Karthik (8/5): -
- Meenu (10/5): Wonderful stay with great people and food, felt like home. Perfect for solo female travelers. - Loved everything about this place, the location, the people, and the food. I fell sick during my stay, and everyone was so kind, constantly checking in and even giving me medicines. It genuinely felt like home. Highly recommend for solo female travelers. Wi-Fi needs improvement, calls and audio notes don’t go through.
- Zhuo Ying (10/5): Coziest guesthouse in Almaty - My little house was so so cozy, heater was available (and absolutely necessary!). We had 5 degrees celcius nights and day time wasn’t really that warm either. The staff were so accommodating and friendly despite not speaking each others’ language (Google translate is sufficient, don’t worry). We arrived a lot later than intended at 9pm but check-in was so smooth and they even had food for us. Also, the food spread was great for what you’re paying. Location is also good for Kaindy and Kolsay, Charyn canyon is a 2 hour drive away but that’s alright.
- YING XUE (10/5):
- Megan (10/5): Lovely stay in Saty! - Really amazing food, we got breakfast, lunch and dinner included with our room cost. The staff although they spoke little English were absolutely lovely, they were so friendly and welcoming!
Our cabin was super cosy despite the cool weather.
It was great that we could pay with a credit card.
Location is close to where you catch a van to Lake Kaindy. Nothing at all, it was brilliant!
- Eleonora (10/5): Perfect all inclusive experience in Saty to visit National Park - We loved the welcoming family that manage the property. They make you fell at home. Although they do not speak in English you can easily communicate with them. The all inclusive formula is just perfect as in the village there is no such an offer in terms of restaurant. Highly recommend The bed was not good for tall people
- Hana (10/5): -
- Norazila (10/5): - I really love this place. It's so peaceful and the food is really awesome. Nice staff too, they even help us to find taxi to Kaindy Lake the next day. I would really recommend this place.
- Michal (5/5): - We got a driver who was scamming and wanted additional money after the trip to kaindy lake. Very bad behaviour…rather avoid taking anytjing from them
- Ali (4/5): -
- Maral (10/5): The best retreat - It was one of the best stays we had in our life, we took one of the small cottages which was cosy, clean, and beautiful, the yurts also looked great, it’s a very calm and enchanting place, it is a family owned business and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home, the food was exceptional, you can taste the homemade flavors and they were incredible, we stayed there for 2 nights and all the meals were varied, the family is extremely hospitable and friendly.
We got overwhelmed before going and couldn’t figure out how to get there from Almaty so we messaged them very late at night and they had responded within less than 30 minutes and the owner offered to drive us there from Almaty and back. He was very friendly, helpful, and thoughtful.
Ps: thank you very much for the jam! (They noticed how much we loved it during our meals and gave us a jar of the best home made raspberry jam we ever had!) that was the sweetest gesture!
Can’t wait to be back again! It was honestly the best experience nothing negative at all
- theofanous (10/5): Lots of love to the owners from the Chinese mom and family… - People , food , atmosphere
- Daniele (6/5): Struttura funzionale ma letti scomodissimi. - Si pranza tutti insieme. Cibo abbondante e buono. Noodles fatti in casa. Decisamente molto scomodi
- Sayed (10/5): -
- Saud (8/5): Good experience - Very helpful staff and great hospitality The room has no AC
- Clara Magalhães (10/5): - Great family. Great food.
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Movey (3/5): Uncomfortable experience - Nothing The four-person room we stayed in had beds that were less than 1 meter wide each. The entire village was surrounded by construction sites on three sides—front, back, and sides. We entered through a shabby iron gate, and our car had to be parked in the construction site across the way.
The bathroom was a shared one. After the people in the next room finished washing, there was no hot water left. I had to take a cold shower, and my wife had to wait until the next day to wash up. The host didn't speak a word of English, making communication extremely difficult. The price was totally not worth it.
- Mansoor (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderful family stay at Kolsay Kazakh Village. The staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome, making us feel at home right away. The food was delicious and had a nice local touch. The atmosphere was peaceful and authentic, perfect for relaxing. In the evening, there was live music which added to the charm of the place. Highly recommended for families who want to experience Kazakh culture and hospitality!
- Darlene (10/5): This is why we travel! Perfect! - This is why we travel. Finding this beautiful place with the kindest people you ever met. We had dinner and breakfast best in all the “Stan’s”. Just perfect and a cherished memory! Nothing
- Britt (9/5): Superb - The food was great, also very accomodating for vegetarian options and helpful with organising trips to different locations.
- Hayat (8/5): Pleasant experience - The concept is great. The place we stayed in is cute and unique. Food was included in our stay which was a bonus. The property was undergoing construction and there were no activities at night. It didn’t feel like a pleasant experience since there were construction going on. There was a dining area in a yurt and also outside which would have been pleasant but they made us eat in the guest house. The food was a mix bag. First night we had a chicken dish which was lovely. Second day only red meat dish. For those who only eat chicken and fish like this was not good. They did provide a vegetarian appetizer but it was all carbs so I had to buy my food from outside. Breakfast was okay. It’s a village after all so don’t expect fancy feast.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!
Very kind people, delicious home cooked food, cozy and comfortable rooms. We liked everything and would always come back to this family :)
- Zaid (7/5): Good - The experience to live like in a traditional kazakh village and the concept is very nice. Not kid friendly or family friendly. Felt unwelcoming, especially if you have kids with you. There's a lot of miscommunication also with the management.
- Fanwee (10/5): Exceptional - very warm and friendly hospitality. Super delicious local home cooked dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Kirtan (7/5): Good -
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pratarn (10/5): Live and travel simply with nature. - The people are very friendly. None
PS: The mobile phone network in this country is not very good. You should use offline maps.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - Delicious supper.
- Jungyeon (9/5): Feels like home away from home! Highly recommended. - The owner and the staffs were very kind and thoughtful. They don’t speak English but it’s not a problem at all since we could communicate by google translate. They organized the transportation for us to go to the lake. They always made sure that shared bathroom is clean and organized. The food they serve was homemade very delicious! There’s not so many restaurants or grocery stores in the village so it was really nice to have meals included. None
- Amelia (9/5): Superb - The food is very good! The room is spacious and all staff members are lovely, we communicated through Google translate. You can hear the dining area pretty well from the room we were in.
- Tanay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mimi_gmail.com (10/5): Mama is very kind. She provide us super great food (dinner, breakfast, lunch) and all include price - Everything is very good and over our expectation.
Mama is very kind and she didn't charge us any extra for dinner, breakfast and lunch.
Room is tiny but clean and very good which bathroom is attached in the room.
Location is very good as well where such the gate of saty village.
Most recommended on this hotel. Nothing
- Kittipak (10/5): Exceptional - All inclusive was excellent in Saty
Breakfast, Lunch and dinner was delicious.
Owner was helpful and treat you like their family.
Double room cottage is quite small but warm and bed is comfort.
If I come to saty again, I will reserve these one exactly. Nothing
- Ashish (10/5): Exceptional Stay with Warm Hospitality! - The location is absolutely fantastic, but what truly sets this place apart is the warm hospitality of the host. The delicious home-cooked food added a special touch to our stay. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the host surprised us with a soulful guitar performance during dinner—making the evening truly unforgettable!
- Mohammed (10/5): Exceptional - We arrived so late at night but they managed to make dinner for us.. extremely satisfied at the stay. Everything is so clean just perfect if you want to enjoy local village vibes!
- Dugar (10/5): Exceptional - Truly wonderful stay in Saty. The hosts are exceptional and offer you a glimpse into Kazakh culture. The rooms are clean and the property is in a very peaceful location around 2km from Kolsai Lake.
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent hospitality at this family-run guest house. They served dinner and breakfast, and both were excellent--homemade food tailored to my dietary restrictions. The small cabin was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable I've slept in during a month's travel in Kyrgyzstan. Note: they don't take credit cards, despite Booking.com indication that they do.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Fantastic Kazahk stay with the best hosts - Fantastic Location. Amazing owners, Mira and Sirek (sorry for misspelling. They made us so welcome, great food and Sirek played the Dombro for us. We also had a sauna for two. Wow! Bare In mind that the accommodation is in a yurt or small cabin with a private bathroom.
- Caroline (10/5): The hosts were absolutely wonderful people and made us feel so welcomed. We would absolutely recommend - Clean, well located
- Thana (10/5): Feels like home - Great location 20 min to lake
All inclusive for every meal
Homemade food
Home vibe, staff very nice they will make sure you feel like home!
- Ws (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodations is right at the entrance of Saty, very convenient to visit Kaindy lake. It was very homely and the hosts were great, taking care of us throughout our stay. They provide delicious home cooked food, all meals are included here which is a plus.
- Emma (9/5): Very good place to stay for visiting Kolsay Lake! Clean, nice view, great breakfast and very friendly welcoming by the h -
