Guest Reviews
- Jane (10/5): Perfect Wellness Retreat Resort - Absolutely stunning, gives a cabin in the woods feeling. Excellent food, I enjoyed breakfast in particular. The rooms were amazing especially the cabins. I got a hot bottle in my bed every evening. There is a forest and so many green spaces. Perfect for a relaxing, wellness retreat. I loved it so much I chose to extend my stay. Thank you for having me. The Wifi in the rooms especially is very weak, barely used it.
- elliot (4/5): Would not go back, especially at that price. - Nice central building with a nice cafe. A couple of issues.
1, the room was nothing like advertised. No nice bathroom at all. Not what I’d expect at the price range.
2. The WiFi in the room was so poor it wasn’t useable for anything.
3. I went for an early night one evening and woke up to a member of staff who was obviously trying to see if I wanted a hot water bottle, but instead of waiting for me to answer or going up. Decided to unlock the door and come in whilst I was asleep and wake me up. Not appropriate!

- Francis Osiemo (10/5): - Amazing place surrounded all over by nature. Very green and beautiful.
- Chiduwa (9/5): - Lovely setting. Tranquil environment
- Guilhem (7/5): Great value for money - Beautiful garden
Great breakfast
Well located, very relaxing
Helpful and nice staff The dinner at the restaurant was a bit underwhelming
The shower was not clean

- Joanne (7/5): My staff was amazing. - The room was just perfect for my personal retreat. The ala - carte menu at the Muna Tree Cafe had a variety of options for me to eat from. The serene environment was excellent, it was just what I needed. All the staff were great. The shower was rather cold on the last day. The breakfast spread was pretty basic but alright.
- Monique (8/5): Relaxing & restful stay. I will plan to come here at least once a quarter to rest and recalibrate. - Brackenhurst has amazing grounds, quiet ambience and an old country feel that makes you relax instantly. Wambui was super helpful, she got me a great driver for my stay, so was able to move around easily. The bathtubs in the bathroom which had a shower curtain. This led to soaked floors after every shower. I would recommend they put glass on the bathtubs for a more comfortable shower experience.

- Jordan (10/5): Peaceful and restful retreat - The staff was kind and friendly as well as being very helpful.
It was quiet and restful and located among tea fields. Beautiful trails to hike and walk.
It is distant from any other locations and need transport if you wish to leave the property.
Food at the restaurant was very good.
Hot water bottle for the bed was so nice. I was satisfied with everything.

- Marcel (7/5): Nice surroundings with 5 o‘clock wake up calls. - The surroundings and greenness of the place. Metal sheet roofs and monkeys don‘t make a great combination. 😅
- Vincent (6/5): October 2024 Stay at Brakenhurst - Scenic location. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Hot water bottle was provided. Safe ample parking Meagre portions for Breakfast. No cereals, milk or yoghurt. we had to ask for eggs. The main door to the room doesn't have a peep hole or deadbolt. There is no TV or Instant kettle. Bikes are in bad condition.
- Damaris (8/5): Very good -
- Kevan (8/5): Lovely place, wish I could have stayed another day. - Beautiful, quiet, kind staff, friendly service, old school rooms. We stopped there for the night as we were driving from Nairobi to Uganda so that we could get an early start down into the rift the next day. Worked perfectly to get a jump in traffic.
- Rondi (8/5): Very good -
- Meridith (10/5): Paradise - Especially the beauty of the outdoor spaces, coolness, walks, food!
Eco friendly filtered water and solar showers. Big gap under my room door for bugs and crawlies to come in.
