Guest Reviews
- Tomi (9/5): Nice stay’ - Excellent location and good value for money.
Staff was lovely :)
- Pete (8/5): Central old town hostel - The manager running the place is Very kind and 🔥 Nothing really
- Miguel (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (5/5): Passable - For the actually exceeds expectations.
Clean. Lots of open space.
Only around 6 beds in the main dorm. Clean bathrooms.
Kitchen is functional. Fridge and bottle water available. Microwave and coffee maker.
I cooked my own meals. The building lies in between two major transportation streets. Very. Very noisy!
The main Catholic cathedral is very nearby. Bells ring night and day! Especially, near Easter Sunday.
- Jarku (10/5): Exceptional - My partner and I stayed in the private room in late March. During all 3 nights we stayed, we were the only people on the property besides Daniel, the wonderful, friendly staff member in the dorms. We had been anticipating a more social time at the "gay lodge" but it was equally exciting to have the whole place to ourselves, from the rooftop patio to the mezzanine chill area (with indoor wifi mostly good enough to Zoom on) to the balcony overlooking the street. Highlights: wonderful shower pressure and no shortage of hot water; custom-made breakfasts by Daniel; excellent location that is quiet at night but just a 10 minute walk from the centre of gay nightlife. We would love to stay here again if we can make it back to PV! The "double bed" in the private room is actually 2 twin beds pushed together, with a little gap. The window in the room faces the lobby, so you have to choose between privacy/security (with the window closed) or fresh air circulation (with the window open). 2 of the 3 bathrooms were out of toilet paper at one point, and it took 2 more days for them to be restocked--we would have done it ourselves but didn't know where the extra rolls were. BUT, none of these were dealbreakers and we would not hesitate to return. Thank you Casa Frida!
- Louis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Borus (10/5): Small, cute hostel close to the beach and to the center. - Great location, nice vibe. The host was very helpful and kind. I had a great time here. Would definitely come back!
- Barajas-contreras (10/5): Perfect - Just perfect 😄 Everything was great
- Sergio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alain (8/5): Good location - Daniel is hot. 😊
The location is perfect! Walking distance to everything, including the sea/beach in less than 5 minutes. Needs more cleaning. Lockers and the room door must be fixed.
- Dale (9/5): Great Value and Friendly Host - Great location and friendly staff and other guests. Nice open roof top area and overall clean and new sheets and mattress. Good value. If you have trouble with a couple flights of stairs, this may not be the best choice, but stairs are very common in PV. No AC, fine in winter months with just fans.
- Marcel (10/5): Exceptional - Such a wonderful place. Felt liike home. Close to everything. Oscar, the host, is very kind and communicative.
- Kunhee (9/5): Friendly and welcoming property - Very friendly and welcoming manager and he takes good care of the property It was difficult to find the property as there is no label. And as the shared room is located on the rooftop, it is subject to weather, especially getting wet in the rain when going to the bathroom .
- Alexis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kolby (10/5): Get taken care of in a great location. - Oscar really goes out of his way and takes excellent care of the guests. Common spaces are nice. People were quite social when we stayed as well which was fun. Showers have plenty of hot water. Convenient location. Breakfast is simple, but kitchen is complete if you want to cook something. Oscar sends a welcome text with lots of information about PV and is very connected and responsive on WhatsApp if you’re looking for someone to help you book adventures or plan your trip. First time staying at an all male/gay lodge and was very comfortable in what felt like a respective environment. Don’t be dismayed by the low number of reviews. They’ve been open for like a decade, but recently switched the concept which is why they only have 3 months of reviews. But the hostel is well oiled and Oscar is dedicated to you having a good and comfortable time. It’s PV, so even in November it was really hot. There is a very nice, powerful, fan in the rooms but it was still quite uncomfortable during the day. Also just an fyi, but no signage on the door or outside so just look for the 224 and knock when you first arrive.
- Omar (10/5): I’d definitely come back and stay here again. - I loved the convenient location close to all amenities. Few minutes from the centre, beach shoppings and restaurants. None
- Benjamin (10/5): Awesome hostel for staying in PV - A great hostel for those looking to stay central and meet new people! I was a bit nervous about booking as it was my first time in PV but am so glad I did. Oscar was on hand to greet me and shared a load of information about things to do and where to eat. He also planned activities for me and other guests to do so that we could get to know each other and make the most of our trip. The hostel itself is cosy, clean and well appointed with a kitchen area, lounge and two terraces. There are three shared toilets and two showers which was plenty for the number of guests staying. I had a private room which was spacious and had a double bed but the shared room also looked comfortable. The location is on a reasonably street and perfect for going to zona romántica and walking up the malecón (both ~5-10 mins). 100% would recommend and can't wait to go back to PV!
- Robert (10/5): Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Oscar for being an incredible host. - Great little hostel. Super cute rooms, nice kitchen, large hangout space, multiple balconies.
