Guest Reviews
- laurent (7/5): - Le calme Le problème de fuite d'eau
- Philomena (10/5): - No light or noise pollution, woke each morning to a beautiful view of the lake, complete privacy, looking forward to visiting again. Final section of road involves climb on a one car only lane, but worth it for the beauty it unfolds. Needs better signposting as journey involves numerous lane ways once you turn from Corofin village towards cottages.
- Oloughlin (7/5): Room for improvement - Host mary was nice, view of inishquin lake was amazing area was tranquil and relaxing great location Could have been cleaner, kitchen could have been equipped with more cooking utensils, double bed mattress uncomfortable slight musky damp smell in cottage
- Julia (10/5): Beautiful cottage near to many scenic spots - We loved the location and the friendly reception from Mary. We were well looked after & had the best time.
- Barbara (10/5): Our family loved the place and hostess Mary treated us royally. - Location on a hillside overlooking the lake was awesome. Away from the hubbub of life was great. Our hostess Mary took great care when our littlest was ill 2 days, supplying clean linens and info on comfort needs.
- Louise (10/5): - We loved our stay in the cottages, this was our second visit there. Mary the host is very welcoming and helpful. The house is clean and the beds are very comfortable and views are beautiful. The location is perfect for hiking in the Burren. We will definitely be back. Nothing we didn't like.

- Frank (10/5): -
- Jaume (9/5): -
- Majella (8/5): - How peaceful and quant the cottages are looking down on the lake. Like stepping back in time.
- Emeline (10/5): -
- DENIS (10/5): - Excellent hosts, v friendly. V comfortable bed and clean cottage. There are facilities, fridge, cooker, kettle, toaster & washing machine. There is a communal drier near cottage no. 1. Would definitely recommend a stay. Wifi is patchy.
- Heather (10/5): Fantastic. Will go back - Beautiful cottage and loved how private it was
- Ruth (8/5): Beautiful place - Our view was amazing
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Typical little old-style cottage with comfortable beds and basic furnishings. Great for a base from which to explore. Heating was fast to warm the rooms. Beautifully positioned overlooking the lake, very rural but only a few minutes from the village and the sites of beauful County Clare. In the heart of the Burren. On our arrival, we were told the dishwasher was unfortunately broken and needed to be changed, but they didn't know when the plumber would be available. Disappointed to know the house was not in perfect condition on our arrival on the Saturday, we we sure to have to put up with the situation at least until Monday, however on our return to the house that same evening, the new machine had been installed without ado, and we were not at all put out by the misfortune. Thank you!
- Deirdre (8/5): It was lovely in lovely location Mary was very helpful - Location is lovely. Mary very helpful Getting a little run down. Bathroom needs hpdated
- Ian_magee (6/5): Great view and very peaceful but the property is quite rundown. -
- Karolina (6/5): The cottage could be better if someone could take care of the place - Nice place and view I booked on booking.com didn’t know my cottage numer I had to ask on the place as it said on reservation but there were no reception or any one that were working on the place no one pick up phone i couldn’t get any information
There were one house with key in it , it was mine I got no information about it
Old nice cottage but need more cleaning and maintenance
- Roberta (10/5): A thatched oasis overlooking Lake Inchyquinn. - Tranquil location. Thatched House. Spacious. Beautiful view. Quiet. Plenty of parking. Plenty of privacy. Responsive, friendly hostess. Heating and electric blankets. Hot water and full kitchen facilities. Full sized bath and shower as well. Firelog to easily light the fire. Cosy. Be careful on the road from Corofin as it's very winding and narrow, full of tight bend. Drive slowly in case your meet another vehicle.
- Miriam (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay. Host was lovely - Lovely location. Very quaint and quiet. As it’s a thatched cottage we had a few insect visitors!!
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fitriana (10/5): Perfect - The view is amazing. The mattresses are comfortable. Overall it’s perfect The location is a bit isolated. But then you get the amazing view. The WiFi only works in the living room.
- George (7/5): Good -
- Elizabeth (9/5): A lovely little getaway with great access to the Burren. - The house was warm and cozy. Very clean and Gad everything we needed for a family of 4. The inside of the house was well kept but the thatch roof was in a shocking state. I could see 2 houses had the thatch redone but the other others should really be done. We were actually surprised that the roof wasn’t leaking.
- Eugen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (5/5): Given inaccurate information as to our accommodation leading to an uncomfortable first night in the wrong cottage - The location was very quiet and pretty Furnishings and fittings were tired and dated. Bathroom needs updating.
- Heather (9/5): Girl trip 2024 - Our trip to Ireland was awesome and having such a nice little cottage to come home to after our busy days was great! The cottage was very clean and had all the basics one might need. We met Mary as we arrived and she was lovely and very responsive whenever we had a question. The views from the cottage overlooking the lake were amazing and always picture worthy. Quiet, comfortable and pretty...10/10 recommend! The shower is crazy tiny..like don't drop the soap 😂 but there is also a nice big tub so at least there's an option. But honestly definitely not a deal breaker. Also it was AWESOME to have laundry facilities but when using the dryer we found it worked best if you leave the door open to the closet the dryer is in or the dryer would turn off. Again ..not a big deal just a lesson learned. I would still DEFINITELY stay there again!!
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional - The lovely views from the cottages was very nice nice & quiet area lovely to relax in evening The long windy roads up to cottage should be wider
- Angela (7/5): The location was lovely. The cottage is basic but clean - The view and location are beautiful. Mary the housekeeper was very friendly andhelpful and put right the faulty heater and lack of washing up bowl quickly when asked. Plenty of towels and crockery very little storage in the kitchen for food, fridge door opens on wrong side, toilet seat didn’t fit and heater didn’t work until the housekeeper replaced on the next day. No outside garden chairs or table
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Máire (8/5): Very good -
- Antoinette (4/5): Disapointed/expensive - The scenery from The house was outstanding, overlooking inchquin lake. And in the distance the burren.
The manager on the site was polite and helpful. The roads into and out of the property were very narrow and scary if you met anyone on the lane. Not for the faint hearted. The water on the premises was not available on three of the days so showering ir dish washing was when it was available not when you needed it, and we would not drink the water at all, as when it came through it was mucky and brown. The problem was at the weekend so the reservation team were not available until the Monday. Phone coverage was hit and miss so there was delays with contacting the manager over the site. There was no outside furniture or any seating to take advantage of the view.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (7/5): Perfect for what we needed. - Beautiful location and close to where we wanted to be. Spacious and comfortable. The manager was very attentive and helpful. Some of the cooking equipment was a little old and there were lots of some items and other bits that would have been helpful to have.
- Korie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (3/5): Great location, poor quality - The only advantage is the location in Clare - it is well located and a great vantage point for day trips Obviously the maintenance is very poor.
The shower equipment didn't function properly, switching between scalding hot and icy cold.
The toilet seat was broken.
The wifi stopped functioning after the second day.
The instructions for the hotwater were extremely poorly written, half crossed out, referring to a "hot-press" which is a cupboard with a boiler inside, Only Irish would know what that means. And even if you do... you spend half an hour searching for an obscure little door upstairs, where you find a button to press... really...?
At arrival there was a huge mixup with other guests, who had the same cottage rented. Manager had to sort things and stuck them in another cottage.
Last day in a neighbouring cottage - main fuse blew... Guests were relocated and there the main fuse blew again! You need the ESB to come out and fix that.
So - yes - great vantage point, but poor quality.
- Mike (8/5): Excellent and highly recommended fir a country getaway - Lovely location. Clean. Mary is excellent. Feels like a real country getaway. Very good! Internet service is not great. Heating in bedroom not working
- Martin (9/5): Superb - The host Mary was a beautiful woman, so helpful and friendly. We will be coming back in the summer time.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Colette (8/5): Very good -
- Sinead (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (5/5): it was nice wouldn’t go there again - old style nice surroundings very remote smell of must and damp
- Mag (8/5): Very good -
- Miriam (8/5): Very good - Beautiful scenic location
- Yvonne (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful surround - The location and views were wonderful and the cottage we were in was clean and cozy. I I failed to notice that the washer is just that - a washer only. Not a big deal. We hung our clothes to dry.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - just one toilet
- Dennis (7/5): Great location and OK for a short visit to the locality. - Location was superb! Property was dated.
- Davidnuala (9/5): Old fashioned house with modern amenities. - Beautiful location, lovely host (Mary) nice well equipped houses in a secluded location,
Electric blankets on all the beds, felt like we were in our granny,s house years ago.
A real get away from it all place, a good place to bring a bicycle if you like cycling.
good wifi signal.
Mary was a great host could not do enough for us. nothing.
- John (4/5): Terrible - The location is excellent, very peaceful house in sales as warm enough The overall Cottage, it’s nice it’s warm I resume the host is friendly I didn’t get a meet her
I’m not sure what age the cottages are I know there built to predict old Ireland
But I’m absolutely convinced that the double bed has not been changed since the houses were built to say it was the most uncomfortable bed I ever slept on my partner I had to sleep on the couch
Overall, somebody has to look at these houses for value for money which they are not €600 to people two nights
Oh, I forgot electric hob no instructions on how to use it and I couldn’t get his working so self catering didn’t happen more bad value. Somebody needs to look at this.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (3/5): Location and view we’re great, - Location and view No heat in kitchen and toilet. Shower had heat but only worked for first time. Since it was April it was pretty cold. Rolling heater provided also did not work.
- Marguerite (6/5): Ideal accommodation for a family get together. Thirty minute drive from Lahinch for surfing. Scenery was beautiful - Value for money. Location was beautiful. The host was very friendly. The beds could do with being updated as they are quite old.
- Miryea (8/5): Very good -
- Darragh (8/5): Very good - The views, comfy rooms easily heated, spacious areas for groups and good kitchen. Really lovely and gracious host. Left us to our own devices. Great location that combined rural appeal with a local town with everything you need. Everyone loved this place. One room is very drafty and the fold up bed is brutal. No firewood on arrival and lack of blankets and towels especially as we were one of the only guests staying at the time. Besides those tiny problems it was perfect.
- Michele (9/5): Superb -
- Netty (4/5): Great if you like wildlife- bird, butterflies, flies, spiders and slugs, all INSIDE our cottage!!!!! - Great location - peace and quiet and wonderful views. After contacting the caretaker we were told the key would be in the door on arrival, which it was. The cottage we stayed in was full of character, it would be a wonderful place to stay in the summer!! The cold! We stayed for Christmas and although the cottage is heated by electric storage heaters 24/7, the cottage remained cold all throughout our stay. There are electric blankets on the beds and an open fireplace which does provide SOME additional warmth. A welcome pack on arrival would have been nice (as it was Christmas - just some basic essentials. there was toilet paper, washing up liquid and soap). The cottage does need some TLC - especially the thatch roof which was in a poor state.
- Cait (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beverley (8/5): Very good -
- Gerard (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent
- Olwyn (8/5): Mid Clare relaxing break - plenty space, friendly people & had everything
we needed location- a bit remote , and not exactly lakeside
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful views, lovely cosy cottage. Would stay again - Lovely, quiet location. Nothing
- Angi (3/5): Poor - The setting was idyllic lots of great walks close by. Good kitchen for cooking meals.
Fire place and comfortable beds. It was advertised as dog friendly but despite calling ahead to check, on arrival we were told that it was an extra €30 cleaning free and quite abruptly that the dog was not allowed in the bedroom. There were no fenced in area anywhere for the dog but we were surrounded by electric fences around farm paddocks with horses and live stock. (A warning on these would've been welcomed. We were sitting down to our dinner one evening when k noticed a young man spraying chemical weed killer by my car. (He was wearing a mask to protect himself but what about our dog!) When I asked him to stop because of our dog he said he was just doing his job. Very dissapointing. I also wouldn't have minded paying a cleaning fee if we didn't have to clean cobwebs and dirt from the floors and beds before we could get to sleep.
