Guest Reviews
- Louise (8/5): Our first time in the Yourshire Dales and will definitely return. - Very comfortable accommodation in a good location and nice situation. We very much enjoyed our stay. Noise from the apartment above was challenging. Could do with a more effective fan in the bathroom. Needs more crockery so the dishwasher could be used less.
- Jonathan (10/5): Peaceful stay in a beautifully appointed period property - Pendle View is exactly as it is in the pictures, beautiful and well appointed. It’s very well located for excellent walks and pubs / restaurants in Settle and Giggleswick.
The apartment is nice and spacious and the bed is very comfy. We particularly enjoyed waking up in the morning to the view of roses outside the bedroom window. Lovely and quiet and felt very private. We spent some time watching TV in the evenings (full Sky with movies and sports was a treat!) and found the sofa perfectly comfortable.
The whole place was spotless and we couldn’t fault it. I have already recommended to my parents and am looking forward to a repeat visit. Nothing, it was lovely
- Andrea (3/5): Nice location. Disappointing accommodation. - Giggleswick and Settle were great. Surrounded by excellent scenery. Good selection of eateries in Settle. Excellent history tour via the Tourist Info office. Pretty river walks. Upon initial viewing Pendle View looked fine. Then we sat on the leather sofa and went straight through it... Simply the most uncomfortable sofa we've ever sat on, couldn't sit on it. Other sofa unusable as it had dog hairs which triggered my asthma as i'm allergic to dog dander. The appt was advertised as 'no dogs allowed' but it turned out that Pendle View is a dog friendly appt. Asked owners for something to cover sofa, they didn't have anything. The mattress on the bed is past its best despite the topper. As with the leather sofa, the mattress needs replacing. The shower room had no window or extractor fan, the walls had permanent condensation and the towels stayed damp. Damp seeped into the bedroom affecting our clothes. The tiled steps up into the bathroom made getting up in the night for the toilet a hazard. As this would be an issue for anyone with mobility problems, it should have been made clear on the website.
Reversing our car into a narrow space next to a wall past other parked cars was challenging. The man next door used the patio outside our bedroom window to access his property which felt lacking in privacy. With windows on only 1 side of the appt, Pendle View is to all intents and purposes a basement flat, and needs to be advertised as such.
The new patio furniture arriving on our last day was a welcome addition as we used the chairs to sit on in the lounge.
A new sofa and mattress would go a long way to making Pendle View a more comfortable place to stay.
- Jeannette (10/5): First time stay in this apartment and couldn’t find any fault. Would definitely book again - Really peaceful and relaxing. Close to settle and walks Nothing
