• Marina (9/5): Great value for the price - Breakfast was good. Choose 1 out of 5 choices. TV has netflix and it's free. Bed is good. Location really good in the middle of the Malioboro centre, but it's quite at the hotel so we can sleep well. The key is manual and only 1 key. The bathroom is a wet bathroom although it has a shower. There is no cabinet or mirror in the bathroom so no place to put toothbrush, etc. The AC is not very cold.

• Danielissima (3/5): not recommended - Good position, very central and close to the main train station. The staff doesn't speak English that well, but they are friendly and try to help out. Dirty. The sheets had visible stains. No sink in the bathroom. Breakfast is served in the room, however we were 2 and he had only one little table and one chair.

Also, it would be great to have some information in English about public transport to get to the temples, for example. Although the staff is always very willing to help.

Scam-central in the area for tourists. Please ignore any middle aged men pretending to be 'art students', 'artists' or have tour offers. Walk straight to your hotel, do not engage in conversation - I was followed so try to avoid this by moving swiftly. Only trust the hotel / hospitality staff if you are staying in this city. Lots of YouTube vids on this.

I can get much better place for the amount paid. The only plus point is its quiet at night No hot water , no hot water kettle , sub standard bathroom . Its not a hotel standard n towel is not clean
