Guest Reviews
- C (10/5): - I typically don’t write reviews, but beautiful places are meant to be shared, and my stay in this charming apartment, hosted by the wonderful Sabina, was nothing short of extraordinary. The highlight for me was definitely the stunning roof terrace with its panoramic views—it's even more breathtaking in person (photos don't do it justice!). I was lucky enough to watch the swallows swoop and call during the early mornings and evenings. It felt like a serene ritual, adding to the magical atmosphere of the place. The apartment itself is modern and comfortable, with a full kitchen and air conditioning—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. It’s located just above the Vicolo dei Baci (The Kissing Alley), a lovely spot where you can watch couples, families, and friends exchange sweet moments on the bench below. It’s heartwarming to witness and adds a sense of charm and intimacy to your stay. From this vantage point, you can also observe the village coming to life each day. For those seeking peace and quiet, the apartment offers plenty of calm spaces to unwind. Sabina thoughtfully provided a selection of welcome treats, including wine, water, coffee, and a fresh bowl of fruit—small touches that made me feel truly cared for. Speaking of Sabina, she was the perfect host. Always warm and attentive, she made sure I was well-informed about everything happening in the village and beyond. She even took the time to let me know about events in nearby villages, making the experience feel so personalized. One of my favorite recommendations was the Aquadotta Romana trail. This hike, winding through olive groves all the way to Collepino, was a true immersion in Tuscan beauty. The village of Spello is a delight with its cozy cafes and restaurants, and Sabina’s curated list of the best spots was invaluable. The framed message she has in the entry says it all: "...
- Sally (10/5): Wonderful apartment in the old town of Spello. - Wonderful apartment in the heart of Spello. Simona was absolutely fabulous! She is so kind and knowledgable and really made our stay perfect.
- Sally (10/5): Fantastic! - The location was excellent and Simona was a wonderful host. We loved the apartment and Simona’s local tips made our holiday extra special
- Rebecca (10/5): A wonderful few days in a magical place. - My husband and I had the most magical few days in Spello staying at this recently completed, beautiful apartment. Situated in the middle of the village, just off a little alley full of colourful flowers, it is spotlessly clean, homely and well equipped. Particularly special is the roof terrace with views over roof-tops towards the Umbrian countryside and the sound of local church bells ringing out (not overnight though!). We loved exploring Spello's streets and lanes and admiring the stunning flowers everywhere. Lovely places to eat and plenty of delicious gelato. Transport to Assisi was easy on the train and very reasonably priced. We also did a wonderful walk, the Roman Aqueduct trail, through the olive groves and up to Collepino.
The hostess for this apartment is Simona. She really is the loveliest person you'll ever meet. Unbelievably helpful and kind. She even collected us from the station and dropped us off. Nothing was too much for her.
I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful place. The main bedroom doesn't have shutters or blackout blinds so an eye mask would be advisable if you are sensitive to the light.
- William (10/5): Great location in Spello with the best host possible! - The roof top deck was a real joy. We spent most afternoons having a glass of wine, watching the swallows and the fabulous countryside. Our host, Simona, was the absolute best host I have ever had in all my years of travel. She was like our own personal assistant, helping us decide where to go, what to see and facilitated permits to use our U.S. based handicap permits to drive in some of the old towns. She was an absolute treasure. Nothing, it was fabulous.
