Guest Reviews
- Dave (10/5): -
- Philip (10/5): A much needed quiet, gentle break in a beautiful part of Scotland with stunning views. - A beautifully cooked full Scottish breakfast. Tremendous selection of fresh and tinned fruits and cereals, Tea, coffee and toast were also provided. Linda, the host, was friendly, pleasant and keen to make sure we made the most of our break. The bedroom was silent, the beds very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean as was the ensuite. Duncan who owns and runs Monturpie along with Linda was pleasant and helpful. I had previous dealings with Duncan when I stayed there with my touring caravan. His assistance with an electrical issue (fault of the caravan provider not the site). The stay on the caravan park had the same high standards as the Guest House. A pleasure to stay there - we will be back.
Philip and Gwen Devenney Absolutely nothing.
- Webster (10/5): - Everything
- Andy (9/5): Great helpful host - Peaceful great sea view
- Jill (9/5): - Very welcoming couple. Room with twin beds was lovely. Generous breakfast, great views.
- Fludger (9/5): -
- Barkey (8/5): Very goog - Breakfast excellent A beer/glass of wine in the evening would have been great, had to go to village for same, driver required !
- Wendy (10/5): Delightful from start to finish - Exceeded expectations.
Everything showed outstanding attention to detail .
The room was very well equipped .Breakfast was good quality and plentiful and served in a room with stunning views of the surrounding area. Although in a rural setting it was close to interesting villages and the sea for evening walks or a good pub meal. Not applicable

Delicious breakfast served in lovely sunroom with exceptional views.Juices, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast with plenty of toast, tea or coffee. Nothing

- Lee (10/5): A welcome rest on our short tour - Fantastic location with stunning views - we were spoilt with great weather and able to sit outside and enjoy the view. The owners were lovely and made us feel most welcome.
- Alan (10/5): Will stay again as the whole experience was memorable and the guest house was really well presented. - Guest house was excellent the owners were extremely helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and well presented. Shower was amazing and powerful. Parking was even suitable for the bus we were travelling with. Garden looked well laid out and well presented. Mattress was too firm. But in no way spoiled experience.
- Lesley (10/5): Another chilled, relaxing and very enjoyable 3 nights in our favourite Guesthouse - truly wonderful and we look forward - It has everything you could wish for to enjoy a very relaxing break - we have stayed here before and have been absolutely delighted with everything Monturpie Guest House has to offer. It certainly feels like home and we loved our beautiful bedroom and the views it had, also the breakfast room views (and the breakfast) are wonderful…we will most definitely be back again. Thank you for another lovely stay Linda & Duncan! There’s nothing to fault this property and the facilities it has to offer.
- Ashwin (10/5): Sea view with amazing breakfast with cozy stay. - It was cozy and had a great view. Host was friendly and kind Nothing bad to say but the toilet flush was not good so new toilet is advised

- duncan (10/5): Great b and b - Great welcome,spotless bedroom and dining room,fantastic breakfast,lovely hosts
- MARK (9/5): Excellent guesthouse with a great breakfast and really helpful staff.. - Good-sized room with comfortable bed and en-suite shower/WC. Excellent breakfast with a great view over the Firth of Forth. Only very minor issues. The en-suite is rather compact. The track from the road to the guesthouse needs some potholes filling in.
- Guest (8/5): Bon qualité/prix - Un endroit dégagé, propre et agréable. Le déjeuner etait excellent. Rien de spécial
- Carol (10/5): Had a great time. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. - Family run business with a warm welcome and lovely breakfast made to order. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Quiet location with fantastic views down to the coast. Bus to St Andrews across the road. 15 minutes walk to Upper Largo Hotel and bus to all the other East Neuk villages. 30 minute walk to Lower Largo and the Fife coastal route
- Iain (9/5): Great hosts and in a nice quiet location but not far from local facilities. - Accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Hosts Linda and Duncan were very welcoming and helpful during our short stay. Breakfast in the restaurant was fabulous and eating with the views over the Firth of Forth was unforgettable. Food options for evening meals at the local pub in Upper Largo were very good.
Bed was very comfortable - had a great night's sleep. Views from the room, also over the Firth, were fantastic too.
- Roberto (10/5): -

- Clare (5/5): Beautiful view. Clean rooms. Unpleasant food smells from the kitchen in the bedrooms - Beautiful elevated wrap-around view of the coast from the dining room Fish was fried in the kitchen (for the on site restaurant) on Friday and the smell filled the whole house including our bedroom. Food smells continued through the weekend and unfortunately our clothes absorbed the fried fish smell (we were there for a wedding). A new kitchen extraction system may be a good idea!
- Clark family (10/5): Fife stay - Clean comfortable charming Nada
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely overnight stay at the farmhouse. Beautiful location and amazing breakfast. - Location and spacious room. Nothing

- Roberta (10/5): Amazing 🤩 - Come stare a casa dai “nonni”. Accoglienza incredibile. Posizione super, vicinissima a St Andrews.

- Eleanor (9/5): Monturpie House - Great location, great views, easy parking, hosts pleasant, room comfortable and clean. Breakfast was cooked beautifully and set you up the rest of the day. Not a criticism but an observation, the heating was on in the en suite and the duvet was thick and heavy, a little too warm for this hot weather.

- Alison (9/5): We loved our stay at the guest house & it was a stand-out property to stay in. - The breakfast was extensive & delicious. The location was great & the view of the Forth of Fife was awesome. We found it hard to open the front door after hours so perhaps letting guests know to lift the handle up instead of down would have been helpful.

We loved our stay here! The hosts have a great story about how the B&B came to be—ask them about it! There’s nothing we didn’t like.
