• Magdalena (6/5): Disappointing - Beautiful geusthouse. Comfortable bed. Host was willing to make us a take away breakfast. Breakfast served at guesthouse was good. Nice wintersheets on bed. Unfortunately this room was a big disappointment. It was recently renovated, curtains and towel rails in bathroom was not put back on, was done the next day while we were not there. Smell of paint was overwhelming, could not open windows, it’s winter! Had to ask for paper to be put into window facing street to have at least some privacy getting dressed. Nowhere to put wet towels first night! Dirty shower with cement debris from renovation, shower blocked, stand in water. Microwave door cannot open properly. Outside door could not lock, host comment it’s safe as if expected from us to sleep with unlocked door, we asked for it to be fixed which was done when returned from dinner.Host made me feel I’m the problem not to want to sleep with uncurtained window … my question? Why renting a room if not finished yet and properly checked for everything to work (oh TV was also not working the first night!!)That’s not fair!

• Andre (5/5): Room should not be let whilst under construction. - Bedding was of good quality and comfortable. The B&B is well placed and secure. Large open garden is pleasant and staff were friendly. Our room was under construction with patio roof balanced on a plank, unfinished unpainted surfaces, grout pieces all over, shower door frame moldy etc. At this price the room should not be let if not ready to be let.

Mould in the shower door frame, no mosquito gauze on windows, room needs a deep clean . Breakfast was sparse

• Leon (10/5): After days walking at Wertern Nationals Games we could rest properly in a cleaned room. Well doen - Did not eat breakfast. Went out to early mornings. It's a lovely place. Space to play with the grand kids. They even played with the dogs. Good serves. Every thing was good, clean, quite and peace full.

• Laverne (10/5): Great spot in Parys - What a beautiful place to stay. It is set in the most beautiful gardens alongside the Vaal River. Our room was amazing and spacious, and we loved relaxing out on the verandah at the end of the day. It was equipped with all we needed, and the bath was the best and an added blessing. Our accommodation came with breakfast, and it was awesome and a great start to the day. Our hostess was really attentive, and we felt really well cared for and looked after. Thank you for an awesome stay. Loved everything.

Our very spacious room was actually a guest villa. The main house includes other guest rooms and the dining area. Breakfast was made to order and wonderful. We enjoyed chatting with other guests at breakfast. Gentle Breeze is on secure grounds in a nicely wooded section of town above the main river.
