Guest Reviews
- yongliang (7/5): - Average Quite old facility
- Marc (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): We would gladly return if we needed to stay in downtown Toledo again. - This location was a great combination of the vintage original structure, while having the comfort of several modern updates. One of my favorite things was the library. I love old books, and there were a number of them on the shelves.

- Aleathia (8/5): - It was centrally located for what we needed and it was a good space to relax in. There was some confusion about how we were supposed to get in. Never got an email from Booking about it
- Todd (9/5): - The location and ease of check in. Communication with host. na
- Amanda (8/5): Great alternative to a hotel, private and charming. - Location was perfect, parking was right out front. It was quiet, even on the second floor. It was mid-week so seemed like no one was above us on the third floor. It felt private and offered the amenities we needed for an easy night stay. We like this type of alternative to a hotel and usually seek them out. It was a great find and very affordable. Loved its charm and vintage feel with the exposed brick that you’ll see on a few walls. The sheets and towels were washed with a scented detergent or softener. I use only unscented as I have allergies and found this to be off putting while trying to get comfortable. The bed is better than many hotels, but I found it a bit too hard for my preference.
The entry is narrow, but we were prepared for this after reading about it on other reviews.
- Krystal (9/5): Comfortable clean stay in Toledo - The room was big and the bed big and comfortable. Lots of light from big windows. The windows blocked any street noise. The feel of the room is kind of NYC-flat Bohemian style. It was clean and there was plenty of hot water for showers. The kitchenette is really too tiny and cramped to do any cooking in but there’s plenty of restaurants within a short drive. If you stay here be aware there are stairs. If you can’t do stairs then this is not the stay for you.
- Beth (10/5): Very nice, clean place! Plan to return! - Loved the location!! Perfect for why we were there! Nothing except the stairs after a few drinks 😂😂
- Jamal (4/5): -
- Sue (8/5): I was good - We were on the second floor and once someone moved in upstairs it was bad. The noise from walking around was very bad. I was great otherwise.
- Paul (8/5): - The suite No place for bikes. No place to wait for entry time, like a chair. No elevator. My wife and I, both 83, had just bike 35 miles and were hot and tired.
- Leslie (7/5): Good place to stay if visiting downtown but host could improve on bathroom facilities - Great location downtown just blocks from restaurants, music venue; bed very comfortable, lovely linens; big windows looking out on street; manager responded to questions immediately and helpfully Bathroom facilities are very old and cramped, no place to put toiletries; holes in the floor near a pipe in the floor; stairs to second floor narrow and steep, hard to juggle luggage
- Александър (6/5): - Удобното голямо легло Малката баня и душа
- Kay (10/5): - The bed. Good mattress!!
- Calli (6/5): Good for a one night quick stop through town, not fully redone apartment - It was so cute in the main room and when we first walked in. Also. It was so easy to access. The bathroom paint was peeling and really hasn’t been redone with the same care as the big room. The little hall way kitchenette also was sort of half done. Silverware just set in the cabinet and a sad dying mini fridge.
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional - Super comfortable and offered everything we needed. Felt safe and was in a convenient location. It was a quiet block and walking distance from restaurants and the Toledo Mud Hens. Leaving. Will stay here again.
- Anthony (10/5): Great place to stay - Location and very quite
- Avinash (7/5): Good -
- Katherine (10/5): Would stay again! Very cute and perfect for a weekend getaway. - I liked the historic look of it! Had everything we needed. A few plates and dishes if we needed them. Coffee was delicious. Getting bags in the doorway and making sure the door shut was a challenge in the initial entryway. A second roll of toilet paper would be nice also.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Comfortable, clean, bright, close to our event - Location, comfort, bright apartment, large windows, nice bedding Fan was loud on the wall furnace- we tried to adjust but still loud fyi
- Janet (1/5): We couldn’t get in!!!! No one there - We couldn’t get in!!!! The door was locked, lights were off. I had no phone number for the property and didn’t have a PIN for YOUR customer service. We stayed at another hotel!!!
- Emily (10/5): Cozy and comfy - The owners are very nice and let me check out late so my pup could stay while I attended an extra event!
- Meagen (7/5): Cozy charmer that needs some updates - I really liked the charm of the rooms and how spacious they were. It was nice walking distance to everything we did for the weekend. The shower had amazing water pressure. The entryway and stairwells were extremely hot. The ac/heating unit in the rooms need updated or maintenance, as I did not care for how they sounded and found them annoying so we couldn’t use them at all.
- Kirsten (1/5): Bad - n/a Initially from reading reviews, we were looking forward to the location of this as we were attending an event at the Huntington Center and the property was within walking distance. After our 4+ hour trip we finally found the entrance to the building, climbed the stairs, and made it to the room with our son and luggage.
We were severely disappointed. We spent the next hour booking a new place to stay. There was paint peeling/chips/cracking off the walls, mildew/questionable mold in the door frames, and the door had a large gap letting in light and sound from the hallway.
At this point, due to the health risks and discomfort, we had no choice but to book an alternative hotel at our own expense.
We have been in contact with booking.com regarding a refund for this booking as we did not stay here. We provided photos of this reservation and proof of our new stay for the same dates (3/14/25-3/16/25), but the host has not replied to resolve the issue.
- Salinas (10/5): Exceptional - Big Comfortable Bed
- Reed (4/5): It worked but we would not return. - The bed was quite comfortable. The entire unit smelled like cigarette smoke, down to the pillows on the bed. It was hard to tell, but it seemed like it was coming from another unit and seeping into the one we stayed in. The TV screen is also slightly broken – parts of it do not light up properly. We had an issue with a lack of toilet paper, but the owner resolved that.
- Kathy (1/5): Unsanitary and Inhospitable Conditions - am writing to express my profound disappointment with the appalling conditions of your property, which I recently booked through Booking.com for a business trip for myself and colleagues. Unfortunately, our experience was so poor that we could not stay at your property and were forced to move to the Hilton nearby.
To say the conditions were inhospitable would be an understatement. Upon arrival:
1. The temperatures in the rooms were unbearably cold, particularly in Room D, where the thermostat read in the 50s. There was no remote available to control the temperature, making it impossible to heat the space to a reasonable level.
2. The cleanliness of the apartments was shockingly substandard. The bedsheets had dirty footprints on them, and the toilets and showers were in an unsanitary, disgusting state.
Given the circumstances, it was unacceptable and unthinkable to stay there. The fact that this property is rented out in such deplorable condition is both unprofessional and unethical. I booked this property in good faith, expecting at least basic hygiene and comfort, and instead, I was met with conditions that jeopardized the health and well-being of my team.
I am demanding a full refund for this booking, which, under these circumstances, is entirely warranted. This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I trust you will address these serious issues immediately to prevent other guests from having a similar experience.
Please respond promptly regarding the refund and any corrective actions being taken to rectify the conditions at your property. To say the conditions were inhospitable would be an understatement. Upon arrival:

- Tara (2/5): Disappointing - When I called the property owner, they were knowledgeable and helpful in gaining access because it wasn't clear. The location is ideal, directly across the street from the Library, where we had our meeting. While I understand the intention was a boutique-like venue, it was not updated as it should be for the cost. A major concern for this location is accessibility. The description did not mention that I would be climbing a long flight of stairs. The room itself did not appear clean and it was incredibly uncomfortable, as the temperature was in the 50s in the room. My colleagues' rooms were not clean and had obvious signs of uncleanliness with dirty sheets and bathrooms and cold temperatures as well.
- Ebony (1/5): Dirty, uncomfortable, and a waste of money. - Location The entire place appeared dirty. The sheets were dirty, the entire bathroom was old and dirty. The room was freezing and the directions to get to the place were poor.
- Sutter (10/5): Good place to stays - The location was excellent as we were attending a show at the Huntington center. We were also going to the Real Sea Food Company for dinner and they were both in close proximity to where we were staying. Parking was right out front. Our room was adequate and clean. Quiet area and we felt safe. Nothing fancy. We would stay again. Huntington center is within walking distance, the restaurant was not but not too far only minutes away. Access was easy enough and well explained by email. No wash rags.
- Nichole (10/5): Perfect location to enjoy all Toledo has to offer - super responsive host and beautifully maintained space! Wish you could turn off the light from the air conditioner. It was a bit tough to fall asleep with the brightness
- Ben (3/5): Poor - The stairs were dirty, there were used pillow cases left in the room, the heating system made a loud noise, paint peeling in the bathroom.
- Jamal (5/5): Passable -
- Phone (9/5): Superb -
- Betty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (9/5): I had a very good experience. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others. - Character of the apartment. Comfortable big bed. Good natural light. Very clean. The communication about checking in and out wasn't clear. Also, the heater was noisy and the taps in the bathroom sink were leaking a little.
- Renee (9/5): Superb -
- Hodgson (7/5): great location, hipster charm, a little less positive on physical plant. - None provided I was unaware that there was no elevator. I'm recovering from a hip surgery, so the long staircase was a challenge. The bathroom fixtures and tile were damaged
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kendall (10/5): Overall was a great stay, highly recommend. - Very clean and perfect location. Great price. Easy to find.
- Mark (9/5): A fun stay in a classic building across the street from one of the great libraries in the USA! -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Convenience of location and ease of getting into the building and room. Reservation does not tell you which room is yours. We tried every door. Until finally we were able to get into one. Scary for other guests quite possibly.
- Kevin (9/5): Lovely!!! - It was a very sweet place and was exactly as described.
I would visit again. Everything was just fine!!
- Minal (6/5): Was a good stop overnight on our long road trip. - Large room with a comfortable bed. Street parking at the door. - convenient that was not too far off from the freeway and we were there just for the night so it was free The bathroom and “kitchenette” were old. The tub didn’t drain well and it was annoying to stand in ankle deep soap water
Kitchenette was dysfunctional but we didn’t really need to use it.
- Jane (3/5): Poor - We couldn’t find it because there was no sign and no lights on. Not two beds
- Sarah (8/5): Affordable. Quiet. Spacious - Convenient location downtown. Clean. Spacious. Wish they offered bottle waters on the room.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (5/5): The location of this rental was convenient for us. We didn't realize it was 2 floors up (41 stairs) - There was no breakfast and none was expected. The coffee maker did not work.
The wall-mounted A/C unit was noisy.
A guest in the other unit on our floor came in at 3 am in the morning.. The guest apparently had the wrong key code because he/she repeatedly tried to open their door. He/she banged on the door for awhile.
- Marder (8/5): Very good - Great location for event at the Huntington Center Condensate pump for the air air conditioner was very loud and disruptive in the middle of the night
- Dang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donald (5/5): Passable - Very quiet and intimate . No free parking. It was hard to obtain a parking permit. The apartment I stayed had animal hair throughout the apartment. Bathroom was poorly cleaned. No stove, pots ,and pans were dirty. Cabinets were dirty as well..
- Angel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cynthia (10/5): Overall great stay! - Older building with cool remodel of the room. We had an awesome meal at Hannon's which was within walking distance. Amazing 'dressed' avocados and brussel sprouts. Bathroom was a little 'outdated'. Maybe paint it and hang a picture to brighten up the room.... Could use an overhead fan or a fan in the room.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Excellent Airbnb stay for couples. - Loved the easy access, door code, and was clean and comfy.
- Adam (9/5): Spacious, classic lodging in the heart of Downtown Toledo - Library Square Suites were perfectly located near everything we wanted to do in downtown Toledo. The room was gorgeous and well appointed, spacious and luxurious. We can't wait to return. After spotting the giant tub in the photos, we were disappointed to find it has been converted for use as a shower only, but we loved our stay even without the soak.
- Ayanna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Madison (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Great stay and location. Will stay here again. - Loved the comfort of a home like environment. Comfortable accommodations. Bathroom is original which was nice but the bathtub has a high wall to get in and out of.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): We loved this apartment! - What a beautifully refurbished antique apartment downtown! Super clean, cute, stylish, and the bed is SOOO comfortable. everything was great!
- Emily (10/5): We were in town for a concert. The location was within walking distance from the venue. It was excellent and we would mo - It’s a very cute space for the price! I loved how everything was within walking distance. Nothing!
- James (9/5): Good location, great price, nice place! - The location was good! A little more than a short walk from places but nothing crazy. Definitely priced right. Great big windows, huge bed, super clean. Owner was responsive. Easy in and out. I would stay again. Can't complain much at all. The couch could have had a few couch pillows to make it a little more comfy on your back.
- Jamal (10/5): Exceptional -
